Deskjet 6940 pdf docs are printing as jumbled up letters and symbols

I have a deskjet 6940. When I print pdf docs they are a jumbled up mess of letters and or symbols. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the adobe program more than once and the problem is still ongoing.

Hi - Check out this support doc on the Adobe website. It offers a number of different solutions to this type of problem including an option to "Print as Image".

Any document that I print directly from my email is printing off way too small. I checked all of my printer settings and they are okay. What next? I feel this has to be directly related to the Email App. Even PDF files are printing off incorrectly, no matter what adjustments you make in the PDF settings boxes. How do I fix this? Did you try either printing from the browser File menu, or downloading the items to your computer and then printing from there?

Colored InDesign docs are wrongly being exported as black and white PDFS

Hello Sirs/Madams,
I am a new user to InDesign. I use InDesign CS4.
I have an .indd file that I created (simple, just text, nothing else). I went to Windows -> Swatches and changed the color of the page to dark blue (modifying the RGB). On screen, it looks EXACTLY like I want it.
But the problem is when I select File -> Export to PDF and I select ANY of the pdf profiles, it prints ONLY in black and white. I have messed around with many options, including using the File -> Print option (to Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional BTW) and it *still* creates a black and white pdf!!!
What am I doing wrong? Please can you help me?
All I want is that whatever colors I can see on the screen should be in the PDF, including the document/page area, which I set via the Swatches window. I apologize if its simple enough but please provide a measure of leeway considering I am taking baby steps here...

The paper swatch is for preview on screen only and is intended to allow you to see how your document will print on colored paper. If you want to print a solid background you'll need to draw a frame and fill it with that color.

ALL PDFs created are printing in ALL Black

We are running Acrobat 8.1.2, along with the entire CS suite. We have 7 other staff that are running the same software with exactly the same preferences. All of a sudden, my software prints ALL PDFs either created or received, in ALL BLACK. Printers haven't changed, settings haven't changed. I even removed the printers and re-installed them. Most recently I installed a third party plug-in, Quite Imposing. Could this have corrupted Acrobat. It hasn't in the past. Any ideas why my PC would produce copy in all black?

Was out sick with surgery for three months and didn't realize that the PDF file that I had printed prior was "Print all colors in Black" and it stuck. So sorry for the thread.

Sybrand's response is what would be the response to a question that is very [very] inadequately framed.
Without knowing the Oracle version, how you plan to load documents , there is no way your question can be answered.
For all we know, you aren't even planning to use an Oracle database but might be looking at Microsoft Windows Indexing !!

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit.

Something has gone crazy wrong with my 'contacts' for e-mail and the addresses are all a jumble of letters. What do I do?

Are you using a key scrambler extension (Comcast Constant Guard) ?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You need to check which works and to remove one of them to avoid conflicts.

Located a solution:
Go to Control Panel - Printers --- right click the printer and select Printer Properties.
Select the PORTS tab and disable Bi-Directional Printer Support. Seems to work whether the printer is installed either via USB or Cat5 to the Airport Extreme network.
For HP printers, if that first fix doesn't work, download and install the HP Install Network Printer Wizard - allow it to replace your 'newer' driver, but check hp.com for step by step instructions.
Third suggested fix is to download a PCL6 driver, or a different model-driver altogether that is more generic than model specific.

Try this. Open one of your files. The window that contains your picture is named at the top. Command click on the name and you'll see the entire path starting with its name and then moving to the folder, the folder it is contained in, etc all the way to down to the hard drive volume name. This should tell you where to find the folder.

Regarding printing PDF documents...It depends on the PDF document that you are trying to print. In general, it will take longer to print more complex and larger PDF documents.

Actual printing is handled by iOS (not by Adobe Reader) via AirPrint over Wi-Fi connection. We've heard from other users about iOS 8 Wi-Fi connectivity problems.

Links in pdf doc are not working when viewed in Reader 9, but works with Reader 8

When I view a pdf document using Reader 8, the links in the document work. However, when another user views the pdf document using Reader 9, the links do not work for them. Any suggestions?

Are they hyper links or are they spelled out (http://...etc)?
If they are spelled out, it could be because the person using 9 needs to select "create links from URL" in Preferences>General>Basic Tools.

How can I save a PSD image 'full size' in a PDF doc for printing

I have a Photoshop image we've created that will be taken to the printer for a 3x6 banner. I need to save it as a PDF document, but when I do, it doesn't save as the original size of the image. I'm a total novice, so can someone help me with instructions to creat the PDF with the appropriate size image for the printing company to create the banner?

Seconded! I have a 1039x697 PSD which comes out as a 249x167 PDF! Every time! What am I doing wrong?

Adobe PDF files are printing out smaller than 8 1/2 by 11; only happens on Firefox not IE.

I downloaded the latest free version of Adobe Reader.
Now on Firefox, the page view is surrounded by a black screen. I can increase the view size, and have the document fill the whole page. However, when I go to print, the document prints smaller than an 8 1/2 x 11 page with black space (almost as if I scanned something without a cover) all around it.
Not only is it difficult to read some files, I'm wasting black ink.
I happened to be on another site using Internet Explorer and when I downloaded a file using that browser, everything was normal. No unusual size dimensions, no problems printing.
Seems to be a Firefox issue.
Any suggestions?

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader or to Always Ask.

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.
