Deskjet 6988dt duplex print accessory won't work

This accessory appears to be installed properly but isn't recognized by the software. The automatic duplex option is not available in the print settings options. can't figure out how to get it going. Accessory model # is Q5712L.
Printer is Deskjet 6988dt.

Enable the duplexer as whien in the Vista/Windows 7 Duplex Printing Troubleshooting Guide.

Duplex Printing option won't work on ePrint Mobile Driver for P1102W?

Hi there,
I just set up my LaserJet P1102W for wireless printing, it's connected to my router so I don't have any problem in printing double side though my laptop as I can just use the printer like it's connected to my computer.
The problem is I am sharing the apartment with my friends and they all have their own router and own internet account, thus the only way for them to print though the printer will be either Google Cloud Print or ePrint. But when I install ePrint for them, the expected Duplex Printing option can't turn on, it simply won't allow me to select it. (as shown below)
I have done some search and all it comes up is some standardize answer that tells me to install ePrint Mobile Driver and the problem should be fixed, but this is the ePrint Mobile Driver, it still doesn't solve the issue, so please give me a solution, thanks a lot!

I understand that you are having problems with the ePrint Mobil Driver trying to print a duplexed job to your LaserJet P1102W.
Can you tell me, when you print double sided, are having to flip the pages manually or does the printer does this automatically for you?
The HP ePrint Mobile Driver supports printing on both sides through ePrint if the device itself supports printing on both sides automatically... i.e. the printer does the flipping of the page automatically (auto duplexing). If the device does not support auto duplexing, then the eprint mobile driver will gray the "Print on Both Sides" feature out, indicating that the device does not support auto duplexing.

HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 1515/Scanner won't work since I've bought printer

Since I've bought my HP All in One printer, scanner doesn't work! I've even back it to the store, but they also couldn't help. Some of the sellers think it's up to drivers installation, but they didn't know what to do. Neither did I... So, now I have scanner on which I've never scaned anything! Pls, help!

I understand you're unable to scan using the Deskjet 1515. I will do my best to assist you and try to resolve this issue! What is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
With this printer, you have to use the HP software in order to achieve scanning. I will provide a HP document on performing this step here. Please choose your correct operating system. If you are getting an error while attempting to scan, then please let me know.

"add printer" utility won't work, need help

I have an IMac “Lamp”. After I upgraded to 10.4.7 the ‘add printer’ utility will not work and so no printer is available.
I had an older HP printer and one fellow at HP said that the problem was with the printer. I bought a new HP Photosmart 8250, installed the software and the same problem exists. The computer can see the printer and recognize it specifically as being plugged into the port but the ‘add printer ‘ utility still doesn’t work.
A nice Canadian lady who works for HP spent well over an hour on the phone with me guiding me through quite a few moves dumping various files but to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a Poer Book G$ )S X 10.4.5. I am having the same problem with my printer utility....won't add printer. I am trying to install a new printer, HP 2575, all-in-one. With the instruction of HP support, I downloaded the latest driver, uninstalled all my other printers, re installed the HP 2575, threw out many files, etc., all with no success. My husband was able to install the printer on his PC (windows)...so it is a MAC problem. Now, there is nothing in my library/printer folder. My system does not list any printers either. When I plug the printer into my MAc with the UBS cable, it shows on the list of printers, but I can't add.
Someone please help if you can.

Even after restarting my browser and activating my smart print add on, smart print still won't work.

I installed the smart web printing which didn't work. Then months later I found the updated Smart Print that requires installing the Bing bar, which I did. Both add ons are installed, activated, and my IE9 has been restarted. However, all I get when I click on the smart print button is a new tab opens up that is an exact copy of the tab I have open. My Smart print experience looks nothing like the video where HP shows the tool in action. What gives.

With it connected via WiFi, the printer component of the MP600R uses a Canon proprietary protocol called canonijnetwork to advertise itself on the network. The scanner component uses an Apple protocol called Bonjour. Since you were able to add the scanner then it shows that Bonjour is working and your issue is with the Canon protocol.
One thing to note about the canonijnetwork protocol. It can take several seconds longer than Bonjour to make the printer appear. So when you click add, you will see the scanner first. And if you wait another 10 seconds, you should see the printer.
If the printer still fails to appear, it can be due to a driver issue, as it includes this canonijnetwork module. So I would suggest that you connect the MP600R to the Mac via USB. If a driver is needed, it should be automatically downloaded v10.72.1.0 from Apple. With this USB connected printer now in Printers & Scanners, check that you can print. If you can, then disconnect the USB cable and see if you can now add the wifi connected printer.
One final note. If the above all works for you, remember to remove the printer that was created for the USB connection. If you try to print to this, it will always give you an error as it is no longer connected to the Mac.

HP Deskjet 1220c printer functions won't work in Leopard

Hello. I'm a first time forum user. My HP driver is 3.3.3 (latest from Software Update) and all I can do is print, no options are available. On HP's site they offer a driver from Nov. 2007, no version number listed but that sure seems outdated. Any idea how I can get the print functions working? Thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem. I know when I used the 1220c on my old G4 using panther you had a wide variety of functions including selecting paper types like photo, gloss, card stock etc. Can you access these options?

I installed Tiger and now my printer/scanner won't work

Hi. I installed Tiger and now my multi function printer/scanner/fax is not recognized by my computer. I have the Brother MFC 420 CN. I downloaded some drivers and such which I thought would resolve the issue, but still it does not work. What can I do? Thank you.

The MFC-420 CN is not listed. Sounds like you have a printer whose driver never was updated. Contact Brother technical support and ask them to fix that issue.

Printer & HDD won't work thru HUB on Airport Extreme...

I have an Airport Extreme (newest model)...Canon printer and an external HDD. I can get the printer and the HDD to work thru the Airport when connected directly to the Airport. But when I plug a powered USB Hub into the Airport and then plug the printer and HDD into the Hub... I can't access either. What am I doing wrong?
I tried rebooting everything...didn't help.
I tried resetting the Airport to factory defaults and redoing my network...didn't help.
What next?

Sounds like it must be an issue with the hub, have you tried connecting the hub directly into your comptuer and seeing if the devices are read through there... if they are not being read then it must be an issue also verify the compatibility of the hub

Scanner and Printer Drivers Won't Work After Clean Tiger Reinstall

Installed clean copy of 10.4 and 10.4.10 blanket update because iBook was slow and seemed encumbered with something I couldn't discern. Got drivers from the web and ran permissions repair as suggested in answer in another forum, but the problem remains. Printer is Epson C88 and scanner is 2450. They worked fine before the clean reload.????

What is the full name of the printer ( Stylus, Color, etc.) and how is it connected?
If USB, check that the ports are working, if not you will need to reset them by powering down everything, and do mean everything (disconnect all power, battery bricks, etc.) let it cool down then replace them. Then boot up from the install CD and run Disk Repair plus Repair Permissions.
Also, what software are you using to scan? Have you tried Image Capture?

"Borderless" Prints Just Won't Work

When I print photos in iPhoto, I have them setup to print in a 4 x 6 format with a borderless format. For some reason, I still get a border, even after making the setting to borderless. If you're wondering, I have also checked to see if my photo printer shows the borderless format on its screen, which it does. Any ideas?

What printer are you using? Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and try again. Also look in the User/Library/Preferences/ByHost folder for any printer preference files and delete them also.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Print css won't work

Most likely there are two things -
1. You have linked the stylesheet with a root relative link.
2. You have not enabled Preview with Temp files
If you would change the link to a document relative link, it
would work. If
you would enable preview with temp files, the root relative
link would work.

Printer pool won't work

I've set up two Canon ip6600D printers into a printer pool. I can get each printer to work individually, but I can't get them to work as a pool. If I send 4 print jobs to the printer pool all four get printed on the first printer rather than two on each. Anyone hae any suggestions.

Anyone fix this? I have the same issue and the Security preferences don't seem to be the issue. I have two computers on Leopard. It worked when they were in Tiger, though.

Connected Deskjet 6940 to computer with windows 7 64 bit, duplex print will not work?

I have a Deskjet 6940 model C8970A. The Duplex printer function does not work. It will manually ask me to turn around all the pages to print on the other side. Before it would print front then back of page at a time. I have Windows 7 64 bit on the new computer.

The Duplex Unit is disabled by default, make sure to enable the accessory as following:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers
Right click the HP Deskjet 6940 icon, then click Printer Properties.
Select the Device Settings tab.
Set the Duplex Unit as Installed, click OK.
Now set Print On Both Sides as Automatically from the Printing Preferences Dialog.

Officejet Pro 8600 Plus duplex printing not working

I am running Mac OSX leopard (10.5.8) and just bought the officejet pro 8600. Everything seems to work great except I can't figure out how to print on two sides. The option isn't allowed in page setup
I have checked the settings on the printer and can't see anything to indicate how to switch on the option for double-sided printing.

Please follow the steps below to configure the driver for automatic duplex printing:
1. Verify the duplex-printing accessory has been installed properly. To verify this open the System Preferences and go to Print & Fax. Open the print queue of your printer. Click on Printer Setup and from the tab menu choose Driver. Verify the box next to HP Two-sided Printing Accessory (Duplexer) is checked.
2. On the File menu, select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the blue triangle next to the printer name to see all available settings.
3. In the expanded Print window you will find next to Copies the checkbox for Two-Sided. Check the box.
NOTE: If the checkbox does not appear within the specific application print dialog, skip this step.
4. To select the binding type click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
5. Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
6. Set the Two-Sided option as Long-Edge binding (Portrait), or Long-Edge binding (landscape).
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset...
