Deskjet 930c does not do double sided printing with windows 7

We have just obtained a new machine with Windows 7 and connected the existing Deskjet 930c via a usb cable.
Under windows XP it was possible to select double sided printing and a prompt was displayed on the screen to turn the paper round.
This is not happening under windows 7. Is there something we have not done? Or is it not possible any more.
 It does go through the motion of double sided printing but does not stop to change the paper.
Any ideas anyone - we do a lot of double sided printing and we hav spent hours trying to sort this out.

Please look at the HP Support page,
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00098827&lc=ja&dlc=ja&cc=jp
Unfortunately, I could not find an equivalent page in English.  This is for Win XP and Vista, but I checked
that a similar logic can be applied to Windows 7, too.
step 1 to 3 is to show property of the printer Deskjet9xxC.
step 4 is to select device setting tab
step 5: change "installable option" from "uninstalled" to "already installed"
step 6: OK
step 7: select print setting
step 8: select layout tab, and choose either long edge or short edge
that is all.
In my Japanese Windows 7 environment, when I double-click the "HP DeskJet 930C/932C/935C" icon, there are three sub items appeared.  Two out of these three were used in the above steps.
Please try.

  • HP Laserjet 1300 Manual Double Sided Printing with Windows 7

    I just purchased a new laptop with windows 7, love the interface but have some hiccups here and there.  And the one that is the biggest pain is printing.  I have a HP Laserjet 1300 connected via a linksys print server.  Single sided printing works just fine, but I used to be able to (and still can from my work laptop running XP and from my wifes Laptop running Vista Home) print double sided manually.  But now even though it says duplex, it will not work and I think the Windows Driver believes that it is a duplexer attached to the printer verses a manual feature.  Any ideas on how to get my manual double sided printing back?

    Nice one...
    I found you can also modify the "Manual Duplex Help" section to provide instructions to the user while duplex printing :
    The following prn_grp displays pictures similar to the Laserjet 1300 and has the right procedure (take the printed pages and place them in the same orientation in the tray) :
    <prn_grp models="HP LaserJet 1300;HP LASERJET 1300N;c5c5f890996e5fc5d7ffd96f8c759f2d ;555a2593970cf8b77ec5e1c722373e36 ;065e3643626aa153eb624120e21031cc ;5541b14acbc6bb39fefc0967181142e0 ;e6885ab28dbc6e127ae4963acf4d8ccc ;8f6b80f605bb593212acd699c0516d06 ;1d9e0f01c72b2d0001e58751826b42ac ;f77381023eb218bd6c75fbb5cd55337e ;8da5efe243e316c3fbd7ccd09d330f48 ;60caa8832f86a2502a3e4f31c6aa82f5 ;d1eb75d092f98ee058366d6d32b1c5d1 ;acb248ba464fba4feeac598ee070e4da;25b289c5a1af52c4c30c70e60d6a5486;

    </fname>
    </prn_grp>
    More importantly, I was also able to modify the hpcu1306.xml file to enable full 1200 dpi support, by adding the following prn_grp at the end of the "Print Quality" section (after the hp LaserJet 9040 prn_grp and before the closing "</feature>")
    <prn_grp models="HP LaserJet 1300;HP LASERJET 1300N;">

    <option name="PQGroup_2"/>
    <option name="PQGroup_4"/>
    <option name="PQGroup_5"/>
    </fname>
    </prn_grp>
    NB : PQGroup_2 is for 600 dpi, PQGroup_4 is for FastRes 1200 dpi (fast) and PQGroup_5 is for ProRes 1200 dpi (finer, slower, more memory used).

    Hi,
    Automatic Two-Sided printing is not currently supported by the ePrint Service, as you may find any of the service capabilities and limitations listed below:
    Duplexing (printing on both sides of the page) is not supported.

  • How do I use the double sided printing with my HP Officejet 6500A plus

    I need help with learning to use the double sided printing with my HP Officejet 6500A Plus

    Click on the Show Details button just above:
    You can configure various options from the dropdown menu just below Orientation.
    Printing two-sided requires a two-sided adaptor for the printer. Otherwise, you have to print out odd numbered pages first, turn them over and reinsert into the paper feeder, then print even numbered pages. If you do it right you get a nice two-sided document. If you do it wrong all the even numbered pages will be upside down.

  • Your Client Does not Support Opening this list with Windows Explorer on Windows Server 2012 R2

    I am trying to open a document library in Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 2012 R2 server and I am receiving Your Client Does not Support Opening this list with Windows Explorer

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to open a document library with the Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 2012 R2 server. But you received the following error message: Your client
    does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer.
    There can be multiple reasons for it.
    So, I recommend you can check with the following steps:
    Go to the “Server Manager” of “Administrative Tools” > Enable the “Desktop Experience” feature in your environment.
    Go to the “Services” of “Administrative Tools” >
    Ensure the “WebClient” service is started.
    Ensure that your computer has supported Web browser.
    Ensure that Internet Explorer is configured correctly to add
    https://*.sharepoint.com to Local intranet site in the “Security Tab” of “Internet Options”.
    Ensure that
    you have applied the latest updates on the system.

  • Your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer - related to multiple uploads?

    Hi folks -
    I've read through some threads regarding "Your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer" and it seems a lot of folks have a lot of solutions throughout the forum posts.  Is there anything official or semi-official regarding
    this?
    I've tried a lot of the fixes including:
    checking to see if the WebClient service is on
    modifying so-and-so registry (I've since changed them back since they seem to have no effect)
    and changing various settings in Internet Options including making sure the site is in the Local intranet zone.
    I could live without this functionality but just recently my upload-multiple-files functionality in SharePoint 2010 has also gone away (red x instead of directory UI).  I wonder if it's related somehow and could give us a clue.
    If it helps I'm using various browsers but of the IE flavor 8 and 9 32-bit as the base for testing this.

    For SharePoint 2013 (so could apply to 2010 as well), my problem was that I was trying to "Open with Explorer"
    something that probably can't be opened with Explorer. In my case, I just wanted to open my team's Shared Documents with Explorer. I found that when I first log into SharePoint and view the page, I'm presented with those Shared Documents, but also other things
    as well.
    To get "Open with Explorer" to work, I must click "Shared Documents" under the Libraries heading on
    the left. Then, all the other stuff (Links, Getting Started, etc.) go away and I'm focused on my team's shared documents. From there, I can go up to the Library Tools section in the ribbon, choose the Library tab in the ribbon, and click Open with Explorer.
    Works like a champ on Windows 7 64-bit, running IE 9 32-bit.
    Unfortunately that's not what was going on in my case.  One obvious way to check is to see if other people or other computers can Open with Explorer.  In my case it was just this one machine on my desk that had the issue.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got “Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer” error.
    Did you enable the both authentication (Windows and FBA) on default zone.
    As far as I remember when FBA is enabled on the same zone when Windows is used, it breaks whole client integration.
    So it will be better if you will recheck your architecture and will use different zones for Windows and FBA.
    There is also another thing to try: use claims based authentication with authentication provider which will work both with Windows and FBA.
    What’s more, you can also check with below steps.
    Use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
    Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
    Add the site into Trusted sites to check whether it works..
    Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Sites->add the site into the Websites, then check whether it works.
    In addition, you can also try to enable Basic authentication on the client computer, by setting the BasicAuthLevel registry entry of the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters

  • Trying to open a sharepoint library in Windows Explorer via IE 8 results in the error "your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer"

    I am attempting to connect to a Microsoft Sharepoint library, via the "Actions -> Open in Windows Explorer" option from the Sharepoint page.  When I do so, I get the error message "your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer".  In short, I am trying to get the "drag and drop" functionality of a Sharepoint library.
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit and IE8.  The target Sharepoint environment is a MOSS 2007 EE.  My Windows "WebClient" service is running, and I have no problem connecting to this exact library via a Windows XP computer running IE8.

    Verify that the Webclient is started automatically from the Services.msc
    Verify that your Portal is in the Intranet local security zone (You can reach it from Your Internet Explorer Browser Security Tag) if not add it to the list
    restart the WebClient service if it's work good
    If not you have to create a network share to your portal URL directly not your documents library.
    Open Windows Explorer or My Computer from the Windows Start Menu.
    From the Tools menu, click Map Network Drive…. A new Map Network Drive window opens.
    In the Map Network Drive window, choose an available drive letter from the dropdown list located next to the "Drive:" option. Any drives already mapped will have a shared folder name displayed inside the dropdown list, next to the drive letter.
    Type the name of the folder to map wich is in this case your SharePoint Portal URL (Don't include the documents libraries)
    Click the "Reconnect at login" checkbox if this network drive should be mapped permanently. Otherwise, this drive will un-map when the user logs out of this computer.
    If the remote computer that contains the shared folder requires a different username and password to log in, click the "different user name" hyperlink to enter this information.
    Click Finish.
    I am looking for a suite method :)

  • Explorer View - Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer MOSS 2007 '

    We recently had a major deployement, after which Explorer View started giving error message.
    Before deployement, all was working fine.
    Error: Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer
    Webclient service is already enabled.
    The site has been added to trusted site lists.
    All Active-x controls have been enabled.
    Browser: Internet Explorer 8 - 32 bit.
    Microsoft Office 32 bit is also installed.
    Thanx in advance.

    You could try updating the following registry key on a client PC as a test: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Paramenters\AuthForwardServerList to include the URL of your sharpoint site. Add the root site and it might enable this functionality.

    Hi,

  • Scan app does not find 4625 sacnner / printer in windows 8.1

    I posted a while ago that I could not install the printer / scanner software on my laptop runningWindows 7.1  because it would not recognise my printer, although
    1. I provided the correct IP address when asked by the installer
    2. The installer worked perfectly on my  desktop PC
    3. I could see my printer/scanner with this IP address on my home wifi network in my browser
    4. I could install the printer functionality  (but not the scanner)  over the wifi through Windows by searching and selecting from its list of HP drivers
    So I gave up after trying many times over many days.
    Subsequently. I  have upgraded to Windows 8.1.  The HP installer still does not work. But by letting Windows automatically find the printer (only) driver over the network I can (as before) print to a thing called HP Deskjet 4620 Series Class Driver.
    Now I see Windows 8.1 has a separate App for the HP scanner called also HP Deskjet 4620 Series Class Driver. This, as before, cannot connect to the scanner. But:  this is interesting.  While trying unsucessfully  to connect, it displays an IP address for this HP Deskjet 4620 Series scanner which is different from the printer IP Address. (It is not a valid IP address on my network, I looked though my browser). It seem to me that if I could somehow change the scanner IP address to the correct one, the scanner would work.
    Any ideas?

    Hello Mikets ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having connectivity issues with the scanning portion of the printer.
    I suggest we try the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

  • Double sided printing with Adobe XI

    I have asked many times but don't get an answer.  Do you have any staff or "experts", as you put it, who will answer my question?

    It appears we are simply screwed by HP who designed this printer to use up as much ink as possible and not allow you to use black only no matter what is said.  Tons of complaints and no anwers.  Better do some research before buying next time and do not consider HP, they apparently lie about capabilities and blame the consumer when questioned.  My 6500 is the worst printer I have ever had.  I had to take color photos to CVS to get good copies at 4 bucks each and it simply won't print double sided with black only anymore.  Scanner never worked, well it did once and wireless doesn't work either.
    If there is a way to make double sided print in black only on a PC, 64 bit with Windows 7 Home Edition, let me know.
