DeskJet 930C Ejects page at shutdown.

I had installed windows 7 32bit beta, then uninstalled and I installed windows 7 64bit currently. With both OS, whenever I turn off the computer, after few seconds power light blinks and sounds like printer is initializing  and then slowly my HP DeskJet 930C ejects a blank paper even though I have nothing in waiting to be printed or in queue. I have updated latest drivers for my HP computer and also for HP DeskJet 930C. I have google it for solution, but no answer. So I don't know whether it's a bug or compatibility issue. With Windows XP I didn't have problem.

Please help me with this issue.
Thank you.

The cartridges do have a shelf life, although typical failures for out of date color cartridges would be cyan or yellow failing, it would be unusual for all three colors to fail.  You can check the cartridge dates as shown in this page.
You could verify the issue is the cartridge by removing the cartridges and gently blotting the printhead on a damp tissue.  Good cartrdiges will give a strong stripe of cyan, magenta and yellow for the #78 and two strong strips of black for the #45.  If the cartridges do not give a strong blot (or have no blot at all) a fresh replacement cartridge may resolve your issue.  You may be able to recover an old cartrdige by soaking the cartridge nozzles down in about 1" of very hot water for ten minutes or so.
If the cartridges do give a strong blot on the tissue but nothing on the page then it is possible there is an electrical issue with the printer drive electronics.  This would not be economical to repair.

  • Deskjet 930c does not do double sided printing with windows 7

We have just obtained a new machine with Windows 7 and connected the existing Deskjet 930c via a usb cable.
Under windows XP it was possible to select double sided printing and a prompt was displayed on the screen to turn the paper round.
This is not happening under windows 7. Is there something we have not done? Or is it not possible any more.
It does go through the motion of double sided printing but does not stop to change the paper.
Any ideas anyone - we do a lot of double sided printing and we hav spent hours trying to sort this out.

Please look at the HP Support page,
    http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00098827&lc=ja&dlc=ja&cc=jp
Unfortunately, I could not find an equivalent page in English.  This is for Win XP and Vista, but I checked
that a similar logic can be applied to Windows 7, too.
step 1 to 3 is to show property of the printer Deskjet9xxC.
step 4 is to select device setting tab
step 5: change "installable option" from "uninstalled" to "already installed"
    step 6: OK
    step 7: select print setting
step 8: select layout tab, and choose either long edge or short edge
    that is all.
In my Japanese Windows 7 environment, when I double-click the "HP DeskJet 930C/932C/935C" icon, there are three sub items appeared.  Two out of these three were used in the above steps.
    Please try.

  • Printer problem - Deskjet 930C & Officejet G95

I was asked to fix some problems in a small intranet that runs os X server and imac g5`s. The problem im experiencing is with two of our printers:
#1 Deskjet 930C - This printer is connected via USB to a airport base that shares it to the network using Bonjour. The printer pops up for our network users and everything seems fine, untill i try to print something and the print assistant launches. It tells me that all jobs have been stopped. Trying to start them does not help.
#2 Officejet G95 - Connected via USB to one of the IMACS that shares it to the network, same as above. Network users can see the printer, but when they try to use the printer they get a error saying all jobs have been stopped.
I tried connecting the printers manually to my G4 laptop, and print directly. I can only make the deskjet 930c work like that. Downloaded ghostprint and installed drivers for G95, now i don`t get the error saying jobs are stopped anymore: now nothing happens.
We also have some print queues that work just fine, network printers that is with gimp print and printservices on the xserver we got. Also, the G95 ad deskjet printers used to work. This problem has just appeared lately.
    What could be wrong?

I have been using photoshop CS2 and then saving the photos as jpeg and psd. I usually put these photos back into iPhoto and recently while printing it will state that I am using a non-post script printer. The result of the type is jagged as if Adobe type manager/or similar software is not been used. Prior to the past few weeks I had smooth print. Photosmart has the correct driver and PPD version. How do I get back to getting post script/true type print?

I'm also from Brazil and I'm expecting the same problem in both x386 and x64 versions. But this solution dind't work for me. When i click "windows update", the system seeks about one minute and then pop up a message saying Windows couldn't take a devices list from Windows Update. Try again later. I don't know whatelse I can do.
OK, it is not quite a direct link but try the following:  go to the Microsoft catalog update site
(you will need to use Internet Explorer, not Firefox or some other
browser).  In the search box select Deskjet 930c then press enter.  There will be several choices presented, the 11.4MB file is the 32 bit version and the 11.6MB file is the x64 version.  You can click on each title and verify which one is the proper architecture.

  • Windows 7 x HP Deskjet 930c

I am trying to install the Deskjet 930c in Windows 7 32bits and I am not obtaining.

The Deskjet 930 driver is downloaded through Windows Update.  You may need to enable Windows Update as described in Method 2 here.  Try the following: go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, Local Printer, Create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the actual share name for the computer and printer), OK, then click on Windows Update and then select HP (not Hewlett-Packard) Deskjet 930 series.

  • Command-Option-Control-Eject = Restart, not Shutdown

In the last few days, I think since upgrading to 10.6.8, the keyboard combination Command-Option-Control-Eject will no longer Shutdown my computer, but Restarts it instead. Why has this happened?

There is no shortcut for Sleep except to push the power button which will bring up the Sleep, Restart, Shutdown dialog. Here's a link to the standard shortcuts: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75459.
There are numerous utilities like ASM or iKeys (www.versiontracker.com) that will enable you to configure your own shortcuts. Unsanity's Magic Menu haxie will let you add shortcuts to menuitems as will their Fruit Menu (both add versiontracker.com.)

Why do my two external hard drives require "ejection" upon shutdown?

Problem solved. I had plugged in my external hard drives into a USB card.  I switched my two printers to the USB card and plugged in the two hard drives into the computer's USB outlets and now NO improper eject messages. What a relief!!!  Thanks again.

The document will not be printed on one page as it have to be but on more than 1 page.

Have you added the printer to the Print & Fax? Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax. There is a small + in the lower left corner of the window.

  • In need of Printer drivers for HP Deskjet 930C for Windows 7 32 bit Enterprise?

Have been Online in HP support and folllowed all steps and that didnt work.  Called HP rep and that didn't work.  Hp still sell the cartridges, so not sure why I can't get drivers for my printer.

You may need to talk to your system administrator.  Many IT departments restrict what drivers or devices can be added by standard users.
If the driver is not available try the following:  Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, LPT1: (for now, will address this later), Next, Windows Update and wait for the list to repopulate.  This will take a few minutes, but at this time the Deskjet 930/932/935 should be available under manufacturer HP (not Hewlett-Packard).  At this point hit cancel, then connect the printer's USB and it should be installed automatically.
You could also download the driver from the Microsoft Catalog site.  You will need to use IE for this, other browsers are not supported.  The driver you will want for a 32 bit system is the one 11.4Mb in size.

  • HP Deskjet 5440 Status page pop-up to align printer

I'm running Vista on my HP system and just installed the Deskjet 5440 printer. The problem is that I keep getting a pop-up to "align" my printer. The 'Help" button on on the pop-up is non-functional. How can I get this pop-up from comming up needlessly????
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The alignment prompts should stop once an alignment has completed.  Normally the alignment will complete automatically when a new cartridge is installed.  The alignment can fail if the color cartrdige is not printing cyan or under certain other conditions.  Can you go to the printer toolbox and request an alignment?

  • Printer driver for HP Deskjet 930C in OS X  v10.6.5?

Just bought our first Mac, an iMac with OS X v10.6.5.
Trying to connect an old HP printer (previously used with a computer running Windows). HP's site has drivers through OS X v10.4, claims that the drivers are included with OS X v 10.5 ("just connect the printer"), says nothing about OS X v 10.6. Just connecting the printer does nothing ... under Add Printers there's no "More Printers" button.
Should I download and use the v10.4 drivers?
    J

HP has dropped support for the DJ930C with OS X 10.5 and following. (Yes, they said that there were drivers included in 10.5. No, the drivers didn't work.) If you want to use that printer with OS X 10.5 or later you should go to <http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/hpij s%23Printers> or <http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php>. The boys at the HPIJS Project and Gutenprint, respectively, have 3rd-party drivers which actually do work, and work better than the official HP drivers ever did. The HPIJS drivers are PostScript clone drivers, and give very good output, and were mostly written by HP personnel. Why HP didn't use them instead of the official drivers is something you'd have to take up with HP.

  • Shutdown a remote iMac using Apple Remote Desktop and Automator action

    Hi,
I have my iMac and my wife's iMac connected to the same UPS. There is only one USB connector for the UPS that notifies my iMac when its time to shutdown due to a power cut out.
Is there a way for my iMac to then send a command to my wife's iMac (which may be asleep; the iMac not my wife!) and instruct it to shutdown (forcefully)?
The Belkin UPS software enables me to launch an automator action before it shuts down my computer.
    Your help would be appreciated,
    Tony

Unless you already have Apple Remote Desktop, it will almost certainly be cheaper to just buy a second UPS for your wife's iMac than it will be to purchase ARD.
If you do have ARD 3 already, then it looks like it would be possible to create an Automator workflow that would select your wife's iMac and then send the Unix command "shutdown" (look at the man page for shutdown for the usage). I haven't tried doing this, though, so I can't say for sure, but it looks like it would work.
