Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 and Mac 10.7.5 wireless print fail

I've a USB modem/router, a MacBook Pro laptop running 10.7.5, and a new HP Deskjet 2545.
Everything works great using the USB cable. Nothing works on my wi-fi network.
Both the printer and the laptop are on the network. The router has assigned the printer the IP no. 192.168.1.100
All seems to be in order. HP software congratulates me on a successful installation.
But I can't print wirelessly.
Any suggestions or requests for clarifying information would be welcome.

Hi elotrowa,
Thank you for your response.
Is their a way you could get a home router (Ie: Netgear, Linksys, Belkin)?
Try using wireless direct for printing, but beware that you will not have internet connection, when connected to the printer's network.
Here is a link to your printer's User Guide. I would download the guide, then look at page 53 with the title of: Connect wirelessly to the printer without a router.
Hotspots will assign a new IP Address everytime, and due to them being on a cell phone networks, they can be unreliable. This method will allow you to always be able to print.
Hope this helps, and have a great day.

  • HP deskjet ink advantage 2545 All-in-One Series

Bought a brand new one in October but then discovered the paperwork and CD included was for the 2540 model and not the 2545 one which I have.  Couldn't take it back to the store (in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) where I purchased as I have misplaced receipt! Have spent ages online trying to see if I can download the software or get the right CD but to no avail.  So posting this message as a last resort to see if anyone can please help.  As I can't do any scanning in the meantime  :-(
    This question was solved.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Belinda1 !
The drivers are the same for the Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 and the 2540 models, so you can install the full feature driver (if available for your operating system), and should be able to scan successfully.
Here is the direct link to the drivers: HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 All-in-One Printer Drivers
If there is still an issue when you try to scan, respond to me with which operating system you're running and I will do my best to assist.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 all in one not "scanning" properly

I just received my printer today - HP Deskjet Ink advantage 2545. I was so psyched to use the scanner, and when I finally did, I learned that this printer/ scanneer doesn't really scan docs or pictures properly - parts of the scanned docs are covered in black (see sample below). I tried several times, even cleaned the glass (even if it's new, fresh out of the box) but the same thing keeps on happening. Is this printer defective? should I return it to?

    Hi @VitoCLN,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  I see your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 is not scanning properly, I appreciate the screenshot.
I would like you to perform a Hard Reset on the 2545 and retry the scan:
    1. Unplug all cables and memory cards from the printer. Unplug the power cord, directly from the back of the printer while the printer is still turned on.
    2. Unplug the other end of the cord from the power source.
    3. If there is a power module on the power cord, disconnect one end and reconnect it.
    4. After 60 seconds, plug the cord directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector or battery backup as they can cause the printer to lose basic functionality over time).
    5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
    6. The printer should automatically power back up. If it doesn't, turn it on with the power button.
    7. Try making a photocopy (if your printer is an all-in-on printer) before connecting any other cables to the printer.
    8. Connect any other needed cables to the printer.
Now continue here with Solution One only: Vertical Bands, Lines, or Streaks in Copies, Faxes, or Scans
Were you able to complete the scan successfully?
I hope to hear from you soon.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 All-in-One Printer

    Hello everybody,
got a problem. I bought a new printer. It is a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 All-in-One Printer.
Everything is running pretty good. But when I use the copy function it is not scanning the whole page so I miss maybe 1-2 cm. I can see how the slide stops 1-2cm before the A4 mark.
When I just print something no problem. The printer is able to print the whole page. So it is not the printer I guess.
When I scan something over the PC it is no problem it is scanning till the A4 mark.
The problem just occures during copy.
Thanks in advance for your information and support.

Hey there @emelia , welcome to the forums
I would suggest trying the troubleshooting steps in the guide I've posted below for you (except for changing the cartridges if that is not necessary). If you are still unable to print in proper A4 format, the printer hardware may have an issue and I'd recommend calling HP technical support to see about a replacement unit.

  • Claim Code for HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545

I am having a very difficult time getting a claim code for my new Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545. I have tried printing all pages that I can and none  have a code. Could someone please point me in the right direction. I have spent over 2 hours working on this so far. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi bkjones,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you would like to learn how to setup the ePrint feature of the Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 printer.
This printer does not support HP’s ePrint feature so there won’t be a claim code. I have included the Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 Printer Specification for reference.

  • Hp Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 All-in-One K110 series Bad Print Quality

Hi! I am an avid fan of Hp printers since I was a kid. It is the family's most trusted brand for printers. Our printer worked just fine until I printed a colored page. When printing an all black page, the print is ok. For the colored output, the picture has some shadow/3D effect in it that I can't understand. It makes the picture unrecognizable. I tried troubleshooting but doesn't work. I am using Windows 8 and have been searching the net for solutions and etc but could not find one.  I wanted to print an alignment page, clean the cartridges and stuff but could not find the Solution Center just like in Windows 7. Please help me. I badly need it. I have an important document that needs to be printed. My future depends on this one, literally. So please help me. I am begging you. T_T

Hello I_Am_Lost,  Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having an issue when attempting to print due to bad print quality. I do have a few suggestions that we can try in the attempt to resolve this issue. First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. I have also located a troubleshooting document that deals with HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 (K110a) All-in-One Printer - Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues. If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest contacting HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. , : click here.  Thanks for your time.  Cheers,

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 K110 All-in-One : A4 Borderless Printing

Description: Good day, I recently bought HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 K110, and I'm having problems with printing an A4 borderless picture.
I tried to print an image in Adobe Photoshop using an A4 glossy paper, I wanted the print to be borderless - but what came out was a picture with white margin on all sides.
The image at hand has an exact A4 size (595x842 pixels). Then in the printing page setup, I set the paper size to A4. I tried to play with "Scale to Fit Media", when enabled, the preview shows a margin on both left and right side. When disabled, no margins are displayed, but the program warns me about how clipping may occur, which I didn't mind.
So, with "scaled to fit media" disabled, I started the printing. When it was done, the output was not something I expected.
I tried googling a little bit, and found out that some hp printers are not capable of borderless printing. I'm not sure if my printer is one of those.

Same problem here... but almost surf the net,,,but unfortunately there's no yet solution for this...I hope anyone can help us with our problem on this printer..

  • Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545

    Hi Folks,
I recently purchased an HP Deskjet InkAdvantage 2545 All-in-One wifi printer. I follwed all the instructions with respect to installation and have it on my home wifi network. I assigned it a static IP address also. However whenever i want to print, the printer always seems to be "offline" I usually have to restart it manually and then resend my document to print. This, to me defeats the purpose of having a wifi printer, if everytime i have to print i have to get up and manually restart the printer in order to print.
now when it's restarted, everything works well, I used the HP print and scan doctor utility and everything seems to be in order as it returns to warnings or errors.
I've checked the setting as well that determines when the printer goes to sleep and i have set it to never go to sleep, however this problem persists.
Could someone help me? Is it possible that i have a defective device or am i doing something wrong?
    Kevin

  • Trouble using replacement cartridge in HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545

So finally the original black ink cartridge that came with the printer had to be replaced - HP 662. Of course I looked for the same product but the store didn't have it. They told me to get the HP 650 instead which, it says on the packaging, can be used in 1015, 1515, 2515, 2545, 2645, 3515, 3545 and 4515 models.
Got home all excited as I had a lot of stuff to print. I replaced the black cartridge as instructed... but could not print. Got an error message saying "Device Error Detected - Ink supply failure." Do I need to change the color cartridge too? Is that the reason why this is happening?
    Please help! Thanks...

    Hi AliceRedQueen,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you are getting a message that says, "Device Error Detected - Ink supply failure." I am happy to help you with this issue!
It is possible you may need to change the color cartridge too. What I would do first is to go through this incompatible ink cartridge guide. An 'Incompatible Ink Cartridge or 'Ink Cartridges Missing' Error Message Displays on the Computer.
Hope this helps you, and have a great day!

  • Lose Internet after installing HP Ink Advantage 2545

After I connect the HP Ink Advantage 2545 to the router's wireless network to start the wireless printing, then I lose the wireless connection to internet. The hardwire connection is still there but not the wireless connection, even from my mobile device.
The following been tried but still can;t fixed the problem.
    1. Assign a static IP to Printer outside router's DHCP IP range.
    IP Address : 198.162.1.253
    Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
    2. Reboot the Printer, CPU and Router
Printer : Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545
    Router : DSL -2750E
    Wireless Security : WPA-PSK
    OS : Windows Vista
It is much appreciated if someone can help on this.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

When you set a static IP address also set an external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.

Hi, I just purchase a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4615.
The problem is when the printer goes into sleep mode, it will not automatic wake up.
I need to switch off the power and on it back again.
Is there any way to disable the sleep mode?

    Hello Noob,
I'm sorry to hear about the frustrating experience with your Deskjet 4615 printer not function correctly for you. I would like to help you.
I am unsure of a few things and would greatly appreciate if you could respond with some information.
I would like to know the following:
Which Operating System are you running? Windows or Mac
Where you able to successfully install the software/driver, or did you see the installation stop or give an error message?
In the meantime, here are a few things you can try:
Reset your Printer and Restart your computer.
If you are running a Windows Operating System, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor which will search for printing and scanning issues and either correct them or tell you where the issue is so you can better target where the problem is coming from.
Hope to hear from you shortly!
    Take care
