Deskjet Ink Advatage 2516 not able to scan

I was using scanner with my desktop running on Win Xp without any problem, but I cann't use scanner through my laptop running on Win 7 64 bit.
I have uninstalled driver and reinstalled updated driver from HP website, still problem remains same, As I press scan button on deskjet all in one printer; scan led starts blinking and stopps after a while but not generating any file. tried to use scan from laptop, but no response from scanner,
As mentioned from one of the blog rebooted laptop and scanner still problem persists. please help me.

I understand you cannot scan from or to your Deskjet Ink Advantage 2516. I hope I can help you
Please run the Print and Scan Doctor, and chose to "fix scanning".
This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Please send me the results in a screen shot, or a detailed message.
Try scanning from the printer software on your computer afterwards and let me know if there was any problems.

  • Not able to scan on windows 8 x64 with acrobat 10.1.4

    I am not able to scan on windows 8 pro x64 rtm (from MSDN) with acrobat 10.1.4.
    My combined printer/scanner model is HP Laserjet Pro 400 color MFP M475dw.
    My scanner driver "WIA-HP LJ300-400 M375-M475 scan" works fine in Windows Paint, but when trying to scan with Acrobat it only shows a "Wrong parameter" message.  When I try again or to close Acrobat a "operation not allowed because scanning is in progress" error message comes.
    Is acrobat 10.1.4 ment to be windows 8 x64 compatible (like the sales rep told me)?
    Is there a solution to this problem?

    As Acrobat X up through 10.1.4 wasn't intended for a Windows 8 "beta" a possible solution is to use what ever comes along that has been designed for Windows 8.
    Keep in mind Acrobat 9.2 worked with Windows 7 until the first round of Win 7 updates. Full functionality came with Acrobat X (the 10.1 update provided PDFMaker compatiblility with some Office 2010 x64 applications).

    i am using HP PSC 1410 all-in-one printer. i am able to print using the same but not able to scan. i have HP PHOTOSMART STUDIO software installed on my Mac. i also gave a call to HP service centre but even they could not help me out!
    when i click on application>image capture, it says no image capture device is connected. but when i go to system preferences>print and fax, it shows my printer!!
    can anyone help me out??

    Hi, I had a similar problem and literally tried everything to fix it. The solution for me was using an external USB hub and not connecting direct to my computer. Not sure why. Hope it works for you.

    There are multiple barcode formats that can be chosen in the layout, which can affect whether your barcode scanner will be able to read the barcode or not.
    Also, B1 sometimes automatically change barcode format if the number the barcode represents does not work with the format.
    Check barcode format.

  • Why did I have to do a reset to keep my printer from using so much ink? Was not able to select "plain paper." Was printing in "Ultra Premium" mode.

    My printers (two Epsons) would not let me select <Plain paper> when printing anything, and always defaulted to <Ultra Premium>, which is the reason I've been using a ton of ink for the last several months. What caused that? I finally did a Reset to Basics which took care of the problem, but what created the problem?

  • I"m not able to scan a single negative with my CanoScan 5600F scanner that I just bought.

    I'm trying to scan an old black and white negative. Unfortunately, it is not in a strip of six as seems to be indicated in the manual, although it doesn't say specifically it HAS to be a strip of six.
    I opened MP Navigator Ex. Following are the settings I used:
    Film
    Film type: Black and white negative film
    Resolution 4800 dpi. I also used 1200 dpi
    I put the negative on the far end of the film holder.
    I clicked on scan and got the following message at both resolutions:
    Cannot scan for these reasons:
    -The original may not be set correctly
    -The Protective Sheet may be put in place
    -The lamp may not be warming up
     (it needs a few minutes for adjusting lamp on low temperature)
    Scanner driver will be closed
    Code: 2,178,0
    I've scanned negatives with another scanner some years ago and never had this trouble. Any suggestions?

    The same problem occurred on my iPad. Everything has current updates. Created new document the previous day and now unable to open. Hope there is a immediate solution. The reason I don't like software changes is the priority for reliable software nearly 99.99% of the time. Who knew? The reason I chose this software because hoping it also had the 99.99% reliability.

  • HT1937 Testing of LTE network with USIM, but not able to scan LTE network in manual selection?

    Recently i am testing LTE network and intially though of having problems with USIM card. But it turns out that the phone is the problem.
    I am testing with 4 type of handsets, I-phone5, Galaxy S4, Blackberry Z10 and Huawei 4G modem. All of them supporting the LTE and frequency that we are using. Problem is that none of the phones , will switch to LTE network scan when this USIM is inserted. They show only 2G and 3G network.Frequency is there, because i have tested with spectrum analyzer, and the E-NodeB is behaving correctly.
    Meanwhile when testing with one U-SIM from AT&T, all the handset can tune them self and show 4G signal on Manual Selectio mode.
    I am thinking on 2 possible scenarios:
    1. All these branded phones have some white list, of MCC MNC list of the carriers that support LTE. ( but then how is supposed to do some operator testing in advance, before publishing it to GSMA )
    2. The U-SIM recently produced might have something wrong in the electrical profile, that is not giving any indication to the phone about the present of USIM , instead of SIM, thus stating the check for 4G frequency as well.
    Anybody experiencing the same??

    First Root cause needs to be identified before any actions.
    I would suggest first check if you can access the shared variable hosted in PC from RT using other ways like using SVE API (Logos and PS protocols, Datasocket etc..)
    Check if antivirus or firewall is playing...
    Check the same experiment with some other PC if you can.
    You can also try creating another Shared Variable in RT and binding the same to the PC and try to access it...
    Since you have did all the reinstallations already

    Thanks for reporting the issue. There are few ways you can do scanning from the Printer
    1. Make sure you downloaded latest HP software and installed it.
    2. From PC, launch HP printer application (Start->Program files-HP->printer model->Hp Model series) or the solution center and double click scan link to do scanning
    OR
    3. Any third party applications like Paint program, click file and choose insert the image from scanner.
    4. If it is connected via network, then you can use your browser to make scan, Here is the video

  • I've an HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP. I'm not able to scan. I suppose its related to firewall settings

    Error message -
    Scanner Unreachable
    Scanner communication cannot be established.  Ensure your product is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your product is functioning properly.  If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try scanning again.  If you are running a firewall softwar, it may be blocking scan communication.  Please visit www.hp.com/go/wirelessprinting for help configuring your firewall.
    I'm not running any firewall software.  This error started after I ugraded from Win 7. to Win 8.1
    Is there something in 8.1 that needs to be configured to allow the OS to scan.  Printing works just fine.
    Help is appreciated.

    I have the exact same problem, beginning on the same date as you! I also have W8.1, but it worked for a month after the upgrade without a problem so I don't think it is a Windows issue. Did you receive any response from HP? I tried to use windows Scan and Fax as an alternative but received a similar "unable to communicate with scanner" message. Rob

  • My TC + external harddive = blinking amber light, not able to scan

    A few weeks ago, the power went out and I had to reset my network. Since then, everytime I try to connect an external USB hard drive into the back of the TC, the computer can no longer scan it or access it (it stops responding). But as soon as I disconnect the hard drive, the TC works as it should.
    I have since just plugged in the hard drive into one of my computers and share it that way. It works normal when its plugged into a computer, so i know the problem is with the TC. but I would really like to put it back plugged into the TC.
    I have a 2TB TC connected to Uverse router in bridge mode. External hard drive is an HP. This set up worked just fine before the black-out. Any chance the blackout permanently damaged the equipment? Any ideas on how to regain the ability to connect the hard drive into the TC??

    Did you try checking the disk with Disk Utility as it is connected to your Mac anyway?
