Deskjet3520 won't let me scan to my computer

I'm working on a pc with windows 8.1.  I have just been scanning documents from my deskjet3520 to my computer with no problems when all of a sudden it stopped and the following message appeared 'make sure the printer software is installed on your computer and the scan to computer is enabled via the printer software. 
Whenever I click on the printer icon it goes straight to an online hp site where I can't find anything the message is telling me to look for.  Please help, I've always hated wireless printers/copiers but was told they had improved, this isn't giving me much faith as my first time of copying and it stops halfway through.

I understand you're unable to scan a document using the Deskjet 3520. I will do my best to assist you! I would recommend following this entire HP document on A 'Computer Not Found' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays during Scanning.
Make sure you do run the Print and Scan Doctor, as it could resolve your scanning issue. Also, try enabling the scan to computer setting within the software. The steps are provided from this document. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!

  • My 4th gen ipod won't backup after it froze during a software update to 4.3.5. I had to cancel the backup at the start of the update and now it won't let me backup to my computer, freezes during backup or says my backup is corrupted.

    I pressed 'X' during a backup after it froze during an update to software 4.3.5 and now it won't let me backup on my computer. Does anyone have any ideas? It either freezes during backup or says my 'backup is corrupted' or 'I cannot backup on my computer'. I have had to abort quite a few attempted backups since the initial problem, which I think has made it worse. I have already tried restoring my ipod, deleting the aborted backup from my preferences/devices in itunes and deleting it from my user/appdata/etc on my PC hard drive. Any ideas what to try next?

    After hours of frustration I eventually decided to restore. I lost my apps, but i didn't have many and was able to reinstall them for free. During the restore it updated my ipod to the latest software 4.3.5, which i think may have caused the initial problem, but the backup issue remains. Sometimes it stops me from syncing and other times it allows me to skip the backup, but still says that i can't backup on my computer. I'm worried that it has done something to my computer as it took me six hours to do a Bullguard scan, which only normally takes about an hour. The scan didn't come up with any viruses, but it stalled at system32 for ages. The only other thing that i can think of is that a demo CD I uploaded may have caused a problem. iTunes couldn't find a track listing for it but gave me a few different options. i thought I had to choose one to continue, so did that then changed the track details to the correct tracks. I'm now worried that may have introduced an issue or caused a glitch in iTunes. How paranoid am I sounding?

    Using lasted Safari, it has locked up my mac, I can't close the application.  It won't let me turn off the computer.  If I do and turn it back on I am right back on the safari locked up screen.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • ITunes won't let me download to my computer saying it is associated with a different Apple ID but it is not. Any ideas?

    I have recently purchased a tv series off iTunes and for some reason my iMac won't let me download it to my computer. It aways comes up with the error message
    'You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 17 days'
    The only problem is I haven't changed my Apple ID on the computer and I purchased the items with my Apple ID that is associated with this computer. I had changed my password recently so I was wondering if this could cause the problem? Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any ideas on how to fix it?

  • My safari won't let me shut down my computer and it also won't quit out of safari!

    Im trying to exit out of safari but it keeps on making a noise and won't let me close out of it or minimize. Also when I try to shut my computer down it says to quit out of safari before but it won't let me. It lets me quit out of everything else but safari

    Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu and close Safari from there.

  • Mavericks won't let my scans be saved

    I would love to go on a rant right now. Since installing Mavericks, I cannot save my scans.
    THAT IS VERY BAD. (I am an illustrator and I do draw the old fashioned way, you know, pencil, paper and the like)
    Neither the Brother MFC-J6510D (A3) will work nor will my Epson Perfection 2480 Photo (A4). (Granted, the latter is very old. I just bought the Brother in September). The Brother is on WiFi (and it has been checked). My Epson is connected directly to my computer.
    I can open up the scan windows, I can pre-scan. I just cannot save them. The files do not appear. I have downloaded new drivers. Does Mavericks have the hiccups? I am beginning to hate this update.
    A quick fix is absolutely necessary. Anyone know of one?

    By the way: I do use the Apple Scan Software (which seemed to help someone else). It just won't save.

  • New Version of Norton Won't Let Me Scan

    I downloaded the latest version of Norton yesterday and haven't been able to get it to do any scans since. Fortunately, the updates and everything else seem to work, but scans do not. I tried rebooting several times....tried everything I could think of. I also have a white icon on my taskbar too, (the Norton icon) though I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
    I'm stumped as to what to do. Has anyone experienced this and if so, what can I do to get it to start scanning again?

    For some reason the "activation request" disappeared a few days ago. And everything else seems to be up and running just fine. Not sure why it was asking me to activate when it already was, but at this point I'm just glad it's working as it should. Thanks for the help everyone...I appreciate it.

    Ok so i have a new computer and i want all of my songs on it. problem is, i have 2,000 songs on my old computer and i really dont wanna waste a bunch of time downloading them back so i was gonna use homesharing on itunes. another problem is i already have 5 computers authorized for my account. i really cant think of the 5 computers i used to authorize my account besides my old computer, my friend's, and my old laptop.     go into view your account(Store->View Account)
    in that screen after you type in your password go to where it says authorizations and to the right you should see, deauthorize all, click that.
    after that you just need to authorize the computers you are currently using(Store->Authorize this computer)
    that should do it
    When I'm saying Store, I mean at the top menu where it says File-Edit-View-Control-Store

  • How do I uninstall iPhoto from my MacBook Pro? It won't let me shut down my computer cause it keeps telling me to wait for my images to import, but there isn't anything importing...?

    I can't shut my computer down side my iPhoto app is telling me that it's importing pictures, but not is happening & I wanted to uninstall iPhoto to see if that would work. Please some one help me! This is annoying.

    The "Importing" message can be cause by a corruption of your iPhoto library - then uninstalling will not help. Try this:
    Force Quit iPhoto:
    From the -menu in the upper left corner of the screen:   > Force quit ⌥⌘⎋
    Then select iPhoto from the panel.
    Then fix your iPhoto library and remove the "Importing" folder from the library  -

  • Reader 9 won't let me shut down my computer.  File reader_sl won't close.

    I have Reader 9 on my machine and when I try to shut down my computer, the file named
    reader_sl.exe will not quit.  I tried to load Reader X but Adobe tried to load two other programs onto my computer at the same time, programs that I had not agreed to accept.  This is an immoral act.  Therefore, I aborted the download.  How do I get my machine to shut down
    without deleting that file and screwing up Reader 9?  Or is there a non-Adobe site where
    I can download Reader X without being cr..ped on?

  • HELP!  I got a new iPhone and want to download my music from my computer so I don't have to down load song by song on my phone.  iTunes Match won't let me copy it from my computer.  What do I do?

    I have iTunes Match and it's been fine until now. I'm trying to download my music to my phone so I don't have to use the wifi to play it all the time.....but iTunes match won't let me copy from my computer without shutting it off. If I do that then turn it back on then I lose all the music anyway.
    I'm so frustrated and can't download song by song to my phone.

    If you mean you want to sync your music from your computer to your iPhone you need to disable iTunes Match on the iPhone. Go to Settings > Music and set to iTunes Match to OFF (not green). You may need to wait a few minutes for the change to register with iTunes. Connect the iPhone via USB/Thunderbolt and sync the music.

  • Safari won't let me change printer paper size

    I am having a bizarre problem printing USPS labels from Safari. For some reason it shows my paper size as 13x19 in the printer dialog and there is no way I can change this (I tried in the printer driver and through System preferences and the changes would not "take"). I have three HP printers and only one of them can print 13x19 paper. I tried changing the default paper size on all three printer drivers but they all will only show 13x19, so if I try to print a 8x11 document on any of the printers, it won't print scaled normally to 8x11 paper - instead I get large font prints that are cut off. I tried different "scale to fit" settings in the drivers and nothing worked.
    Finally, I switched to Firefox and it worked perfectly!
    Interestingly, when I try printing a normal webpage from Safari, it WILL print on 8x11, but not a USPS label!
    If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

    Safari won't let me customize a new computer on the Apple store website.
    Try emptying your Safari cache. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    If that doesn't help, go to the menu bar again, click Safari > Reset Safari
    Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.
    Quit then relaunch Safari, try the Apple Store    http://store.apple.com/us
    If you have installed any extensions, back to the menu bar, click Safari > Prefereces then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test the store.
    And make sure Java is enabled in Safari > Preferences - Security
