Desktop 6.0 won't connect via Bluetooth to 8330

I have already read the posts on this issue.  I have a supported Bluetooth device (ioGear). I am using Windows XP SP3, I have an 8330 Curve. I have tried the software that comes with the device, deleted it and tried the Windows Bluetooth stack, I have tried disabling the firewall (set an exception).  I keep having the same problem.  My computer sees my device, and my device sees the computer. When I am in DM, and try to connect I will get a brief screen on my BB that says connected to computer then it goes away and I get a message in DM that says the connection can't be made.  No matter what I do, I can not connect in DM.  If I delete everything and start all over, I get just as far, but once I get the message in DM that it can not connect it NEVER connects even though the computer and device are paired.  Any thoughts?
Thank you,
Baffled

Why did this thread just drop off with no resolution/explanation?  Does no-one from Blackberry/RIM care about their customers?  It's astonishing!
We shall start there...this site has nothing to do with any formal support from anyone...refer to this information posted at the top of every page on this site:

I know this is much later, but I am experiencing the same problem with my 9810 and DTM.  My PC sees my phone via USB and bluetooth, but it just will NOT link to DTM, which is incredibly frustrating, as it is very important that I am able to sync my diary and contacts to and from my phone.
I had no problems with this until quite recently - I have no idea what changed things, perhaps an upgrade on the DTM software?

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
Hopefully something there is helpful!
Otherwise, perhaps this thread:

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Good luck!

I have an Ipad and an Ipod Touch 5th gen both on the latest firmwares but they won't connect via Bluetooth whenever I try even though both shows that the devices are discoverable. I also tried connecting them with my Bluetooth enabled laptop but it also didn't worked. Because of the Bluetooth not working I also can't enable airdrop.

    AirDrop requires:
    What you need
To share content with AirDrop, both people need one of these devices using iOS 7 or later, or a Mac with OS X Yosemite:
    iPhone 5 or later
    iPad (4th generation or later)
    iPad mini
    iPod touch (5th generation)
You also need to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If you want to share with your contacts, sign in to your iCloud account.

To see if your Mac works with AirDrop, make sure you’re in the Finder by clicking the desktop (the background area of your screen), or by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock. Then, check to see if AirDrop is listed as an option in the Go menu. If you don't see AirDrop listed, your Mac doesn't support this feature.
In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
your iOS device needs to include a lightning connector
your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed
your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model with OS X Yosemite installed
Your Mac and iOS device both need bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on. You do not have to be connected to a specific Wi-Fi network.
To transfer files between two Mac computers, you need the Mac models listed below with Wi-Fi turned on and OS X Lion or later installed.
MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)*
MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)*
    iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
*The MacBook Pro (17-Inch Late 2008) and the white MacBook (Late 2008) do not support AirDrop.
For help identifying your Mac, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. You can refer to the Apple Support website to find out if your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch includes a lightning connector.

Otherwise you need an app to pair via BT one iOS device to another iOS device. There may be apps that allow pairing with a Mac computer. The iOS devioces do not have the BT profiles necessary natively to pair with a computer or another iOS device except for AirDrop

  • Macbook Air (Mid-2013) and iPhone 5s IOS version 8.1 won't connect via bluetooth, anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have a Macbook Air running OS-X Yosemite and an iPhone 5s running IOS version 8.1. Every time I try to connect the devices via bluetooth is won't connect saying my Macbook Air isn't supported when in actuality it is. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I have restarted both my Mac/Iphone and have turned bluetooth on/off and nothing seems to help. Bluetooth pairing didn't work before I updated to IOS 8.1 so I doubt that is the issue here.

Pairing an iPhone to a computer (Mac or Windows) is only supported for personal hotspot (sharing the iPhone's cellular internet connection) and then only if your cellular plan supports it. More information: Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with my computer?

  • My 6 plus won't connect via bluetooth to my mac or iPad.

The 6 plus and iPad don't even see each other. The phone will connect with the mac for maybe 2 seconds then disconnects. Tried resetting everything but nothing works. Bluetooth on phone works fine with my car stereos but won't work at all with other Apple products. Any ideas?

  • I'm trying to download photos off my old LG phone into iPhoto but it won't connect via Bluetooth

I'm trying to download photos off my old LG EV3 via Bluetooth into iPhoto.  It shows that the device is paired to my MacBook, however,  when I try to connect the phone it shows that it's connected for only a few seconds but then quickly disconnects and the phone says "No Services Found."  I also tried to change the connection for this phone (it's currently set-up as a Dial-Up modem connection via Verizon but the phone is no longer connected to Verizon) but it apparently will not let me do that.  Any ideas?

COntact LG support for support on their phone - this does not involve iPhoto for the Mac in any way

It will not connect because transfering data to other phones via bluetooth is not supported on the iPhone.

  • ITouch won't connect via Bluetooth

The iPod is paired. I went through the pairing sequence on my Mac. My Mac sees the iPod, and wants to pair. It asks to confirm the code, which does come up on my iPod. I click "pair" on my iPod, and "continue" on my iMac, and teh iMac reports a successfull pairing. Yet, it does not come up as a device that is connected, and teh iPod reports itself as "not connected" to the iMac.
    How can I do this??

I have the same problem about connecting iPod touch by bluetooth. It does pair but does not connect. I have already connected my Mac with an iPhone by bluetooth with no troubles. Why can't I do it with my iPod touch?

What are you trying to do?
The Bluetooth is meant for earplug, headset, keyboard, car hands-free set, and speakers.
You need a 3rd party app to do BT file transfer or other functions between iDevices.

how can i use my iPhone 4 and connect via bluetooth with my macpro

The only way that you can connect your iPhone to the mac is to use it for a "Wi-fi hotspot" meaning that you can use the celluar connectivity of your phone to connect your computer to the interent.
Do you mean a MacBook Pro of the desktop MacPro?

My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work).  "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon.

  • My iPhone 5 will no longer connect via bluetooth to Fitbit Flex or wireless headset

My iPhone 5 will no longer connect via bluetooth to my Fitbit Flex aftering updating to ios 7.  Apple phone support had me completely erase and set my phone up again as new to restart bluetooth pairing, then restore again through iCloud.  Worked last night but same problem today.  It also will no longer connect to my wireless headset in my car.  Of course I'm now 5 days over my 1 year warranty as well.  Any ideas?

Delete the pairing from both devices then pair them again.

  • My ipad shows connected via bluetooth but doesnt actually go online

I have recently been using my MacBook Pro internet to connect via bluetooth to my ipad. It was working fine and then I went away for a week and when I came back its now not working. It shows connected on my MacBook and my Ipad but when I try to go on the internet in my ipad it says I cannot connect. Any ideas as to why it was working before and now its not. I have tried uninstalling my ipad from the bluetooth and resetting it up but still nothing.

  • When I try to use my JBL speaker, it won't connect to Bluetooth at all with my iPad Air

My iPad Air won't connect to Bluetooth so I can use my iPad Air and JBL speaker. I keeps saying it is searching for devices.....any idea what to do. I'm using wi-fi

I suspect it won't pair with your iPad, because it's paired with your phone, even though the phone is off. Do you have the instructions for pairing the speaker?  If you don't, google them and see if the device can be paired with multiple devices.
