Desktop app language

Recently I've must reinstalled the full system and that includes the desktop CC app and some apps like illustrator or photoshop. I get the solution to install the apps in Spanish but the main app (cc desktop app) still in english. How I can change that? Where is the "language preference" for the desktop app or whatever?

Free Creative Cloud | Download Adobe Creative Cloud free trial
At the bottom the language is set to English, but you can change it to Spanish.
I can't say for certain, but if you download and switching to Spanish, you may get the Spanish language installer.
Also check to see if you can choose an install language when you run the installer.

  • Cc desktop app crashs after language switch, cant be removed, cant be installed again

2nd big trouble after beeing in the c.cloud for some weeks now.. I haven't seen the Adobe.forums in all the years as a customer so often before as I did in the last weeks..
What did happen? I have swichted the language in the cc desktop app from German to English, because I need to download Photoshop in english.
During the download the app crashed. Now it is crashing immediately after launch. I can not uninstall it, the uninstaller crashs, I can not download/install a new version, this is crashing too.
    System: OSX 10.9.4
    This hint here:
CC Applications crash immediately after launch
..must be a bad joke, how should you access the settings if it crashs immediately..?
I have also tried these hints (exept no4), last time it helped, this time no success:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html
Comment to No4): removing all Adobe software, using the cleaning tool and start again is no option at all, this is too time consuming and cant be the solution just to get this little app running again. This is Windows95ish.. format your harddrive and start again.. ...come on Adobe you could do better...

    **UPDATE**
Called up Adobe Tech support for a 3rd time, and this time got someone who was willing to work with me on this. Since the past two times we've used the "Install Now" option in Creative Cloud Desktop to update the application, which usually leads to failure, we tried to dump the current install and start fresh with the desktop app. Uninstalling the CC Desktop doesn't remove any of the installed programs.
Do try this alternate method we:
    Uninstalled Creative Cloud Desktop application
    Restarted
Downloaded and installed the latest version of Creative Cloud Desktop at Free Creative Cloud | Download Adobe Creative Cloud free trial
Once it launched it took about 20 seconds to sync up with the applications I currently have installed, but recognized they were there, and indicated there were updates!
    Ran all the updates
This is why I seldom take the first "no" as an answer...
I hope that this helps someone else out.

  • Language selection is disabled (greyed out) - Creative Cloud Desktop app

    Hi,
Like the picture below shows, the language selection in the Creative Cloud Desktop app is disabled. (as well as everything else in the Apps tab)
I would like to change the language to English, but how?
    - Lars Olsen

    Hi LarsOlsen,
    Welcome to Adobe Forum,
It will depend on your operating system. Windows users have reported the need to remove and reinstall the application for the langauge to switch.
Macintosh users have mostly reported the same behavior with the language changing without the need to reinstall.
This link may be helpful: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/change-installed-language.htm l.
You need to adjust the language setting in the Creative Cloud application.  Please see Adjust the install language | Creative Cloud applications in the link
above. Please let us know if you require further assistance.

  • CC desktop app

how can i get the CC desktop app to recognise the CC programs installed on my mac? i had issues with the desktop download but after dumping the first download and redownloading the app it worked but does not recognise the cc programs installed. the desktop app says i need to install the programs again which i do not want to do as currently i have limited bandwidth is there a way to make CC desktop app recognise the programs so that when there are updates it does so automatically. i recently upgraded from CS6 to CC.

    Hi susanol,
Please launch CC desktop/Select preferences/Apps and check the language selected for installed Apps. If your CC apps are installed in English and in CC desktop preferences there is some other language selected apart from English then go ahead and change the language as per the language of installed apps and see whether you find the apps showing as installed again.
    regards,
    Abhijit

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App in English

    Hi all,
I don't know if this was solved before and I've been looking for a solution but didn't found a clue.
My CC desktop app is installed in to my mac but everything is displayed in english and it should be in Spanish. When I install any app (Photoshop, InDesing...) everything is ok and translated to spanish but the desktop app itself remains in english.
The problem is that everything I have access to from the desktop app is in english (videos, turorials, help...).
Is there any way to change the default language for the Creative Cloud Desktop app itself?
My system is Mac OS 10.7.5 on a MacPro, not the new one ;-D
    Thanks for any help.

Preimpresion what language is your current User account set too?  What about the Root user account does it have the same language setting?

  • Why is the Creative Cloud desktop app not seeing that Photoshop CC is already installed?

I have Photoshop CC 32bit and 64bit installed on a W7 64bit, 3770, 32Gb ram etc system.  No operating problems with Photoshop CC at all.  But I have just used the Creative Cloud desktop app (I'm not sure if "app" is the right term - it looks like a CC "Manager") - red icon - to update Photoshop CC.  No problems with this.  But curiously, where Photoshop CC is listed in all the available CC programs, its status is shown as "install".  It is already installed.
Grateful for any explanation.  I'm not losing sleep over it, just curious.  Thanks.

Make sure that your Language settings are the same between the apps and the Application Manager.  i.e.  Both English North American or English International.  (I had the same problem, and that fixed it.)

  • Adobe CC desktop app is completely blank and OOBE folder is not the solution

Just bought a new mac pro and transferred all my setting/apps over via Migration Assistant. Adobe programs worked directly after transferring. However, after rebooting nothing worked. I can't remember the specific error messages because it was days ago but I think it kept asking me to install Adobe Applications Manager. Tried that and nothing changed. Tried uninstalling CC, running CC Cleaner Tool, and starting over with a fresh install. Now the desktop app installs but stays blank with no way to login or anything *EXAMPLE. Tried the OOBE folder trick *SOURCE and that doesn't make any change. Also, I have logged out from Adobe on my old machine.
Any help here would be extremely appreciated! Thanks

    Seems to be working again...!
So after restart it looked the same... in startup tab it showed the cloud manager. But was not running. Went to my downloads folder where I still had the installer downloaded before my windows restore (the one downloaded yesterday was deleted after windows restore was done). Ran the installer and exually did something this time! It is installed again. At first it looked like it wanted me to download all the programs again even though I checked if they where still working... they did. (via bridge checked updates said they where all up to date).
Changed the language in the prefs panal under apps to English. Now it all looks like before I ran into this issue.
Not sure... But my guess is that it had to do with the latest windows update.
So... no need for a chat with support anymore
But... I do hope adobe will update the cloud manager asap so I can update my windows again.

My Creative Cloud desktop app installs in Danish and I don't know how to change to English.

    Hi George,

  • CC Desktop app. doesn´t see that a new PS CC version is available

I am on Photoshop CC Ver. 14.2. and my CC Desktop app. is not showing that any 14.2.1 update is available.  Plus, Photoshop/Help/Update tells me that there are no updates available.   Any ideas of what may be going on?

The list of installed apps. on CC Desktop was different depending on whether the Language was set to "English-North America" or "English-International".  Here is what I did:
         -  Since Photoshop CC was listed only when "English-International" was selected, and that is the primary app. that I rather leave alone, I uninstalled the two apps. that we showing when "English-North America" was selected:  Bridge CC and Lightroom 5.  I logged off and back on to my CC account.
         - Then, on the CC Desktop app., I set Language to "English-Intenational", and re-installed Bridge CC and Lightroom 5.  Now, no apps. are listed when "English-North America" is selected.  Theyare all listed when "English-International" is selected.
Unfortunately, my Photoshop CC version continues to be Ver. 4.2, and neither CC Desktop nor Photoshop CC/Help/Updates detect that there is a Ver. 4.2.1 pending.
I am stuck, because I hesitate to install the update from the ProdesignTools site, in case I mess up CC Destop even more than it is now.  And I also hesitate to contact Adobe tech. support, because of the mess they created a couple of months ago on my computer when I again had problems with CC Desktop.  It took one month to clear up the problems, which I won´t go into here.

  • UNICODE AND SECURITY FOR FLASH DESKTOP APPS

I'm presently in the development phase of some desktop applications using Adobe Flash to develop rich interactive apps that include games published in AIR for PCs. Given that I intend to commercialize these products, I have the following requests which you may be able to help provide answers to:
    - how do I type texts in unicode characters given that my applications will include texts in my local language of yoruba.
    - how best can I integrate security features into my application such that serial numbers or activation keys are required to run them? This is to help ensure that the apps run on per PC basis. This'll also help ensure timed licensing for users.
    - how best can I obfuscate my swf files so that they are not easily decompiled or viewable by users in my program files or even by software which can expose the source codes? From experience, I have some AIR published desktop apps installed on my PC yet the swf files are viewable from the program files on my harddrive.
    - how can I also protect my ActionScript files from being decompiled?

same problem with me sir , If you find answer kindly let me know and if i find the solution it will be my pleasure to share it with you !
Freind, I want to make a flash game ,
but it should not be a web based it is a desktop based application !
and the most important part of this is its security .
I want to do the following things
1)-I can copy this game on others pc  , but it must be expired after 10 days .
2)-if someone copy it by any unethical way , it must not be opened on his pc a black screen should come
i have wathced a game like that .
I am confused how to make it ,it can be achieved by using flash or i have to make a separate desktop
application on C#.net or java that can hold this game and take care of security issues .
    Thank you very much

  • Desktop apps developing: where to start

    Hi!
I wanna develop some nifty little helpers doing common daily stuff, like checking the up time of the internet connection and displaying it anywhere on the desktop or in the gnome-panel. that's just an example. a lot of this tasks can be done with cronjobs and bash-scripts, but for graphical stuff there's somethin' else needed.
The question: Where to start? I know, a forum search and googling brings up a lot of tutorials, but I even don't have a point where to start, which programming language is best for apps like this.
And no, I'm not looking for general programming tutorials.
    Thanks in advice!

Well there's plethora of ways you can do build desktop apps. The language is mostly irrelevant nowadays, choose whichever you prefer, C, C++, C#, python, perl, tcl. You may start with deciding on language and possibly toolkint you would wish to use. Some hints, using C you have GTK as your primary toolking, then goes GNUstep thing, Xlib as an option if you need sort of hackish feeling, Motif if you have access to libraries and some ancient Unix system. If you would prefer C++, there's Qt (excellent documentation on http://doc.trolltech.com) and GTKmm.  I personally prefer Qt since it's easy, intuitive and is a base of KDE.
You may end up using python which, surprisingly,  seems to be preferred by most of people on the forums. If so then pygtk or pyqt is a must.
I would discourage from using horrid toolkits like wxWidgets, no fun at all.
Other thing for desktop apps would be inter-app communication and sharing common functionality, which is handled by Kparts & DCOP for KDE3, and (correct me if I'm wrong) bonobo - a CORBA-like thing for gnome (?).
For KDE these will be useful:
    http://developer.kde.org/documentation/
    API reference
    http://developer.kde.org/documentation/library/
Both Qt and GTKmm have nice tutorial which help you get started quite easily.
However if you would like to write conky like stuff, then unfortunately Xlib is the way:

Some common desktop standards (system tray, iccm window manager etc.) are provided here:

  • Is it true that java is an absolute failure in desktop apps?

    Hi Everyone.
    I'm a new java disciple.
However I have a question about java and desktop applications.
is it true that java is an absolute failure in desktop apps?
I read on this article on salon. Here are the key points in regards to efforts at building netscape, corel and office version of java.
    http://www.salon.com/tech/col/garf/2001/01/08/bad_java/index.html
Remember back in October 1996 when Corel announced that it was creating Corel Office for Java? Corel promised us a complete rewrite of WordPerfect and other office applications, which would have supposedly allowed these new Java-based applications to run on any Java-compliant machine.
Office for Java was a failure. While the product is still in the Sun Java Solutions catalog and you can download the beta from a few archive sites on the Internet, the project was abandoned in August 1997. Download it for yourself and you'll find out why: It's buggy and sluggish. On my 700 MHz Pentium III, Office for Java brought memories of my old Macintosh Duo's ill-fated attempts to run the heavily bloated Microsoft Word 6. The program's speed, alas, was dreadful.
Netscape had similar problems when it attempted to rewrite large parts of Netscape Navigator into Java. Indeed, the damning article What Netscape Learned from Cross-Platform Software Development," explains how Netscape's engineers were sold on the language and started writing large chunks of Navigator into Java. Netscape was committed to delivering Navigator on nearly a dozen different platforms, so Java seemed like the perfect solution. But Netscape's engineers couldn't make the language perform as Sun had advertised: Java was simply too slow. Netscape's engineers tried writing their own Java implementation, thinking that they could build a version that was faster than Sun's, but even that didn't work. "By mid-1998, Netscape was not only deemphasizing Java, it was even planning to replace existing implementations with C and C++." In other words, Netscape was taking the new code that had been written in Java and was rewriting it in C and C++.
What may i ask do you java gurus have to say about to this to a new java disciple
    Stephen

First & foremost, consider the source here. Anything the comes from salon.com gets red-flagged in my opinion.
I would disagree that Java is an "absolute failure" in the desktop app market. What you have to understand is that Java is just a tool, and just like anything else, you have to use the right tool for the job. What are you interesting in using it for? What, specifically do you mean by desktop apps?
Garfunkel's Corel Office example is somewhat flawed. (1) In 1997 Java as at version 1.0; Java has come a long way since then. (2) Do you think that any office suite has a realistic chance of being competative against MS Office? I don't, and I think that says more about the failure of Corel Office than the fact that is was implemented in Java.
IMHO, Java is a great tool for developing cross-platform applications with a GUI. Swing is pretty robust, easily extended and has a pretty extensive widget set. It is a little bloated, but that is the price to pay for it's other (good) qualities.
As far as performance goes, remember that a GUI need only seem fast. If you can kick off a long-running task in another thread and then immediately return control of the GUI to the user, your program will be more responsive and seem to perform faster.
My advice to you is to really evaluate why you're thinking about using Java. Java is a great tool, but it might not be the best tool for the task you have in mind.

  • Download error in (osx) adobe desktop app (corrupted download link).

Here is a discription of the problem. Please consider that some of the wording might not be correct, as I do have to translate the error message from German into English.
Using OSX 10.9.2, when clicking inside the adobe desktop app (top of the screen bar) on the tap "apps", the following screen (screenshot) appears, which states, translated from top to bottom:
    download error
    download error. Please contact support.
    (link) contact support
(link/button) download creative cloud -> This button unfortunatly leads to the following error page "http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html"
All apps, like Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. are installed and work just fine. So no problem here. I seem however unable to redownload the desktop app (in order to reinstall). As stated above the provided link inside the desktop app itself is coruppted and within the (online) web-based download centre (user logged in) I am only adviced to use the desktop app. This is a dead end and I do not know what to make of this error, let alone solving it. Please help!

I am sorry Romsinha but this doesn't really help.
I already restarted the desktop app and while I am obviously online and connected the problem (error message) remains the same. Information within the "home" tap is recieved/loaded  (little blue spinning wheel) stating that various apps recently have been updated. Yet the same loading wheel within the "apps" tap results in an error. My best guess is that some internal link within the app is corrupted, leading to a source on a server that can not be reached.
    UPDATE
I clean uninstalled adobe creative cloud as discribed in the article you provided (using the cleaner tool) and even uninstalled the browser plugin. After downloading and reinstalling creative cloud the problem however remains the same. "Apps" tap still shows the same problem. "Home" tap now displays the following:

  • Looking for a simple, standalone desktop app for web stats

Well, I see they've changed the forums here again. SIGH.
Anyway, a certain web host has eliminated AWStats from it's shared hosting. So I used Webmaster Tools. And now they've changed, and no longer display the simple visitors and hits. Google Analytics is way too complex for what I need, as are many of the stats programs I've looked into.
I can download the daily Apache log files, that's no problem. Just looking for a small standalone program to import these and show the data like AWStats.  Any suggestions? The only other options would be to go to a different web host. Not a big deal overall, but I would rather not deal with the hassle, especially the migrating the database.

Not sure of standalone 'desktop' apps. But check out http://www.openwebanalytics.com/ and Web Analytics in Real Time | Clicky  - they're both very intuitive and easy to use with a lot more simplified stats than Google Analytics.
