Desktop capture and publish live in adobe AIR

Can anyone tell me how to capture user desktop or any
application in AIR application and publish it with live streaming.
For example: show powerpoint presentation live in AIR
application.
Is this possible in Adobe AIR and any adobe application?

Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

TC Publisher ID for Adobe AIR - easier signing certificate?

I'm was about to go through the burning hoop that is the
signing certificate, when I found a link to Chosen Security's
TC Publisher ID for Adobe AIR. I'm having a hard time finding
any info on it other than their press release though.
Has anyone obtained one of these? Its it easier than a thawte
signing certificate?
What documents are required?

I just purchased a TC Publisher ID certificate and am a little stumped in getting AIR to publish with it.

Both these resources focus on Thawte certificates as a use case, and don't mention what to do if you're using OS X and a TC Publisher ID.
In my own experience, I downloaded the cert directly to my downloads folder from the TrustCenter site. The certificate was instantly picked up by the OS X keychain. I used the Keychain Access app to export a .p12 certificate file from the keychain for use in publishing the AIR app, but I get an "Error creating AIR file: unable to build a valid certificate chain for the signer" when trying to publish with Flex Builder. Without any docs to turn to, I'm stumped.
For people more experienced with keys and certificates this operation might be a no-brainer, but for somebody who is just getting into this there's not much support for the purchase-to-publish process.

What Crap. And you cannot uninstall Adobe Air

Adobe is really losing my vote on trying to do things it knows nothing about. This media player is one prime example.
But you cannot uninstall Adobe Air as it is needed for Adobe Acrobat. Adobe is not tying things together using Adobe Air. So I guess Air has to stay.
But Adobe Media Player. What a piece of sh*t. I have .flv files on my computer that i created and could not even clear the most recent files played. And if I threw that file away, the video stayed on the list with a purple triangle saying error. Yea, no sh*t Adobe, I threw it away so take it off the list or let me clear the recently played files.
Adobe is just getting into bed with more companies and this is just another example of no user control and blatant commercialism on Adobe's part.
Screw Adobe on this one. Not even an uninstaller and by the way, I am on the Mac. I just trashed the program and when I tried to trash Air, that is when it said Acrobat uses that.
For shame Adobe. Think next time.

Dynamically Importing and Exporting Video in Adobe Air

Hi all,
I am currently working on a project where I want the users to be able to download an application that allows them to be able to upload a video of them playing an instrument, and that also enables them to be able to create sheet music for the music they are playing in the video, and then the application will synchronise the two together and the sheet music will be scrolled across the bottom of the screen in synchronisation with the video that is being played. I then want the application to allow the user to be able to export the new synchronised video out as a video so that they can than upload it onto a website that can be viewed by others. I was just wondering if this would be possible in Adobe Air, or if anyone knows of another piece of software that would be better suited to this. Also if it is possible in adobe air are there any resources that I could turn to that would help me out.

Capture and transmit live media

I am doing a project that capture live media from a capture device and transmit it to a client. Currently I can capture and transmit, but the problem is when I start transmit, the local player stops playing. If I clone datasource and use the cloned datasource for transmitting, the local player does not stop after it starts transmitting, but the remote site can't receive any stream. In short, my problem is I can't make the local and remote sites play captured media simultaniously. I tried JM Studio and it works, but I can't understand how they implement it. It seems that they didn't use cloned datasource. Anyone who have this kind of experience please help me. Thanks a lot.

If you want to display video while transmiting it you can use the MonitorControl. Consult the jmf guide and solutions or this same forum.
But MonitorControl can be a complex solution, specially if you want to monitor video+audio.
You can also use clones. You need undestand that the clones depend of its original datasource, so this origin have to be connected to the clone works. Consult google or this same forum to more info.

I'm trying to install bin32-adobe-air from AUR, by the way. It requires lib32-libpng12.
EDIT: A recent update has solved this problem. But now the extraction of AdobeAIRSDK.tbz2 keeps failing.

If you are in the USA and other places with iCloud you can redownload then by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You can always redownload apps at no additional cost as long as you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased them.

Now the part you guys might find interesting is that this app was released with 3 different versions of AIR. 2.6 for the NOOK as that is what the nook has preloaded the only other option is captive runtime, 2.7 on Amazon to support the Kindle Fire which ships with 2.7 pre installed and 3.2 on Apple because that seemed to perform best.
I believe Google Play version is also 2.7 for the sake of some sanity.
App is performing very well, just want to thank Adobe for giving us this opportunity to build apps on a platform we love!!
Another interesting piece in regards to ratings. Amazon and Apple both accepted the rating of Everyone/4+ however Google manually changed the Everyone rating to their Level 3 rating probably equivelent of 12+ and NOOK rated the app 18+ for some reason.
And another thing, the Android APK was first published with the ability to copy the app off the device disabled, that made the app over 20 megs (doubles app size) so it was not wifi friendly anymore, I then decied to update the app with this feature tuned off, the next day there was 15 pages worth of google results offering a free download of this apk, so look out for this when you decide to enable or disable device copy.

You've mentioned some things I've also been thinking about recently.
1) Air versions: I'm currently using Air 2.7, and have 2 apps in the appstore, and 1 of those is on Amazon. I'd like to upgrade to 3.2, but
I hesitate because I don't want to suddenly find that some customers can't update it.. How did you switch the version for each device? sounds like a pain, if you have to switch folders all the time.
2) What's the process of making an app captive runtime with Air 3.2 in Flash CS5.5? Can I just paste in some code into my first frame? I'm not much of a developer, so please let me know!
3) I'm also worried about piracy, and worse - people ripping off my artwork from my swf file. I might not even release my new app on Google Play because of that. Since downloads were pathetic on Google for my first app, I'm not sure it's even worth it.
Might as well mention it - my latest app, made entirely in Flash has got in Apple's 'New and Noteworthy' education iPad category! This had been amazing news, and I hope the feature lasts a while longer, or I'll no doubt disappear from the Appstore like last time!

Can I capture and record live feed on "Final Cut Pro X"?

I am an intern at my church and we are wanting to finish upgrading everything to mac at the church but we are needing a program that can capture live feed and later edit it so that I can create TV programs; hence, why I am needing to know can Final Cut Pro X capture live feed and record it? Along with that I need to know can I import avi. video files into Final Cut Pro X and it still allow me to edit them for our TV program? Thank you ahead of time for all of your help. Right now we are capturing in SD and I need to make sure it will also not be a problem capturing in SD and will make a smooth transition when we go to HD.

The above discusses HDV over firewire which is high def, DV will be the same deal.
So it depends on what type of camera you are going to use.
If you jump to an AVCHD USB cam the game changes.
So far I'm not aware of a direct import method.
There are workarounds with additional equipment at present.

Is there a problem with the 'Drag Image' proxy, that is present in the DragManager class' doDrag method? I have tried using this and it works absolutely fine with a web application, but DOES NOT work with an AIR application.

Problems with BBC iPlayer Desktop and Adobe Air for Mac

I would be grateful for anyone who can help me with a problem I have on my Laptop running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3.I am having difficulty running BBC iPlayer Desktop and I suspect it is caused by Adobe Air.
Recently I was prompted to update Adobe Air to the latest version (as of February 2012) and after I successfully updated the program, this began to cause problems when I used BBC iPlayer desktop.
The first problem I noticed was that I was unable to play any downloaded programmes in full screen - only the sound played, not the video.
Secondly, a few weeks after this problem began, all my TV programmes mysteriously disappeared.
My final problem is that everytime I launch BBC iPlayer it is unable to download new programmes - when I am connected to the internet, the application still says it is "offline".
I have tried to resolve the problem by restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling BBC iPlayer, disabling and re-enabling my firewall, connecting to the internet in different locations but this has not resolved the problem.
I tried to uninstall Adobe Air, but the installation package tells me it is 'corrupt'. So I tried to download and reinstall the application from the adobe website, but the computer already recognises that the app is installed. i.e. - I can't uninstall or reinstall Adobe Air.
I contacted BBC iPlayer support and they were unable to help - directing me to your website. I have read several other discussion topics posted on this website but not found the solution I am looking for.
Please can some help me to solve this problem, by helping me uninstall and reinstall Adobe Air for Mac?
I am not very technical minded - for example - I don't know what log files are or how to find them - so please explain it as simply as possible.

Just had the same thing happen AGAIN. Suddenly - a blank iPlayer Desktop which failed to download new programmes. All previous programmes were still in the repository folder. This time the sequence I outlined previously didn't work.
What eventually got things working this time was to reinstall Adobe Air as part of the BBC iPlayer Desktop installation process - and not separately.
So:
a) Move iPlayer to trash.
b) Find and delete the following folder: Users/Yourname/Library/Preferences/BBCiPlayerDesktop.61DB7A798358575D6A969CCD73DDBBD 723A6DA9D.1
c) Find and delete the following folder:
Users/Yourname/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/BBCiPlayerDesktop.61DB7A798358575D6A969CCD73DDB BD723A6DA9D.1
d) Find and delete the following folder:
Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository/cache
e) Find and run: Applications/Utilities/Adobe AIR Uninstaller
f) Empty the Trash. I found that bits and pieces of BBC iPlayer were still running despite having been quit and dumped in the trash - and so it wouldn't allow me to complete this part. Restarted the computer, then empty the trash.
g) Find the folder: Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository and rename it repository2
h) Reinstall iPlayer. It will tell you that you have no programmes to view. Quit the programme.
i) Find and delete the folder: Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository
j) Find the folder: Users/Yourname/Movies/BBC iPlayer/repository2 and rename it to repository.
k) Relaunch iPlayer
It would be terribly nice if the BBC or Adobe stopped buggering about with this . . .

Adobe AIR Flash application - fill login and password

I have Adobe AIR desktop application, which show login form. It is necessary to fill login and password after execute. I would like prepare external application in C# or in Adobe AIR Desktop. My application should executed Adobe AIR Desktop application and fill login and password to text input and press button "Login". I try to use Win32 Api but it is not possible to get handler on input elements. I am nowbie in AIR Desktop. It is possible to get handler to external Adobe AIR Flash application in Adobe AIR application and fill text? I try to find any function for communication with window of external application, but I can not find anything. Can you please help me?

Adobe Air and JasperServer Reports

Has anyone used the Jasperserver reports in Adobe Air ?
PLEASE HELP and if yes r they able to export the reports in PDF,
Excel and csv files from adobe air ?

I am using Adobe Air which displays jasper server reports and
the report generated gives an option to the user to open that
report in different format like excel, rtf, csv formats.. and
jasperserver has it's function to convert it approptaitely in
different formats. It's just in Adobe air it doesn't work.. I
tested my application with google chrome which has a webkit just
like adobe air . So When I want to open the report in excel then it
gives me an option either to open it or save it. But in Adobe Air
it comes as a blank page.. not sure what's happening also as I
dont' get any exception.. so not sure whether Adobe Air recognizes
the other formats besides pdf... as for PDF I had to have adobe
reader 9 installed and then it opens up.. If still I am not able to
explain the scenario please call me at 314-799-3138 (USA). I am
just stuck in this project.. And we have to use Adobe air as our
application has to be desktop oriented.

Trouble with Adobe CC desktop app and account

Hi. I'm having trouble with my Adobe CC teacher and student subscrition and the Adobe CC desktop application. On my Macbook, adobe CC desktop application doesn't recognize my adobe subscription, but on the Adobe web site page there is my account page and i see the FREE subscription and the Premium, correctly paid. I try to uninstall the Adobe CC desktop app and to logout of adobe cc folder, but when i reinstall the desktop app, it recognize the free subscription and not the Premium. Someone could help me, please?
