Desktop inner page customization

Hi friends!
I am customizing the portal desktop. I copied the default frame work in a seperate folder and I am trying to add custom masthead and iviews in it.
<b>Now my question is do I have to modify the defult inner page for an efficient inner page or can I create a new page and include it in the Deafult framwork.</b> As you know when it comes to customizing the portal desktop it is recommended to modify the default frame work page instead of making a new framework,is it same for when is comes to modfy the inner pge. Please suggest ...

It is not suggestable to modify default inner page. Use the existing one. It is risky to modify.

Hi...
I was modifying the default frame work.While doing that accidently i removed the desktop inner pagef from that.
as i couldnt find out the desktop inner page again i added personlised portal page .But when i run the application and if i click on the links of the detailed navigation i am getting error say error on the page..
is it the problem with the personlised portal page..
is there any way to get back the dektop inner page..

Hi Alex,
There should be two default framework pages in your portal .. just search in your PCD for it:
the default one in pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/general/com.sap.portal.frameworkpage and a delta link copy of it in pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/frameworkpage
In which one did you delete the inner page? If you just did it in the default framework page then again make a new copy of the first one. If you deleted the default one then check if it is still available in the delta link object.

Removing multiple scroll bars of desktop inner page.

Hi,
    The problem is that multiple horizontal and vertical scrollbars are appearing on the homepage of the portal. So, I need to remove the extra scroll bars which are visible on the desktop inner page area.
     I have tried setting the Isolation method as both "URL" and " Pumped-Deprecated" which was previously set to "Embedded" . Also, I tried to set the height type to "Fixed" and "Full-Page". But the scroll bars still appear.
    Please help me in solving this issue if anybody knows about it.

   I tried changing the properties of both the desktop inner page and the iview inside the inner page, but the scroll bars are not removed.
Could u please provide the details of which other property should be changed as I tried changing the height type and isolation method as mentioned earlier.

About Default Framework Desktop Inner Page refresh Problem

In the Default Framework's Destktop Inner Page's Detail Navigation , When I click a link , It's refresh whole Desktop Innerpage page.
Now I not require refresh whole Desktop innerpage . I'm only require it's refresh content page.
How solve this problem?

The behavior of a lot of features depends of the framework. Please check first the framework comparison document:

Urgent: Layout problem in "light inner page"

Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem in portal content area on external facing portal. I see a vertical scroll bar which restricts application from being displayed on entire screen.
I am getting this problem after a patching of EP 7.0, before patching every thing was running fine.
To me it looks like a layout problem in "light inner page", When I use "Light - 1: column (Full width)" layout I get a vertical scroll bar on portal. When I use default layout then this vertical scroll bar disappears but I see an empty navigation bar on left side which is not required.
Can some one advise a solution for this.

I think by Navigation iViews in inner page, u mean DLN. Check this document.

Refer to "4.4. Writing New or Modifying Existing Code" section in this. According to this, DLN,TLN or content area should not be changed since these have inbuilt functionalities.
But custom Navigation iViews can be created in External Facing Portal using tag Libraries. Check out this link for more details.

When I try to send something from my iPad pages via email to be opened on my desktop in Pages, it won't open in Pages. I get a message that it can't be opened because the version is too old. I sent the document as a PDF and it worked. But I want to be able to use Pages back and forth. HOw do I update the Pages version on my desktop iMac?

The file format used by the iOS versions of the iWork apps can only be read by the new iWork apps on your Mac - i.e. Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. Those versions for the Mac require Mavericks, OS X 10.9. The "too old" error on a Mac comes if you are trying to open an iWork '08 or earlier file in the newest apps. If you do have the newest apps you can open the files from your iPad.
If you can't or don't want to upgrade to Mavericks & the newest iWork apps your best option would be to export/share the files from the iPad to a type an older version of iWork can read such as Word, text, Excel, etc.
Or contact AppleCare. They made this mess, let them fix it.

I have tried a several times to repairing permissions, restarting the mac, relaunched Finder, but no difference.
I copied the download folder to the dock...there I can open the files, but not deleting them or copying them.
When I open finder, then I click on the folder Download, after a while of thinking, it throws me out and back to the desktop.
already tried to sign in with the guest user account, then I am able to open the download folder.(but not seeing my files)
When I am trying to change the download folder in Safari, it also throws me out and gives me a error report ,for sending to Apple.
I think it's a settings fault or i think my download folder is locked. Almost desperat, already called support center,
They couldn't help, for free, due the 90 days free online help i have reached. If I want to solve this problem, they could try it , but it cost me almost 50 euros.
hope there is someone, who's knowing this problem.
By the way, I think it also could be that I dragged some downloaded music to the desktop, and dragged some folder that has the settings. Now its changed???
Or I was downloading something, and deleted the files in the download folder while it was unpacking and reparing the files.
It's not easy for a beginner Mac user (3 months) to already solve this problems.
Can you follow me? And seems this problem familiar to you?

How to make a field as required in Page customization

Hi,
Please help me as how can i make a field on Master agreement as required Field in Page customizations.
I am able to hide the same field, but, I am not able to make it as a required field.

Hello Janaki,
Goto page customization under User Interface in System Setup. Once you are there click the Object Name in the page customization list.
1) Click Edit -> Click add button and click pencil icon just in front of newly created entry. In the Field ID field give the Field ID value per the UI View from the RG (Resource Guide).
2) Select Property from the drop down as "Required".
3) Select Yes radio option under the Value. and click ok and then click save.
Thats it. It should make your field as required field.

Logon Page Customization in SAP Portal 7.31

Hi Experts,
I am planning to change the look and feel of the Logon Page for Portal.
The current page is already a customized one.
For making the changes, I requested and got the following files.
1. tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war from <drive>:\\usr\\sap\\<SID>\\J00\\j2ee\\cluster\\apps\\sap.com\\com.sap.security.core.logon\\servlet_jsp\\logon_ui_resources\\tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war
and
2. tc~sec~ume~logon~logic_api.jar from drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.logon\servlet_jsp\logon_app\root\WEB-INF\lib
The below is the screen shot of nwa/auth properties.
The file which was sent to me and the properties look like, standard logon module only.
I am not sure if the file is the custom one. How to find if its customized. In the layout folder, I couldn't fine any images in the current custom logon page.
I don't have access for deploying the ear. I have to send to the Server team and they only will be able to deploy.
Kindly advise me on how to proceed with.

here is the standard link for logon page customization for NW7.31 check it:

if your are modifying a existing custom logon page first you will be requring the source code of that custom logon page ,Get it and import it in NWDS and follow the steps mentioned in standard help.
if source code is not available ask your server team to provide the custom logon page EAR file ,reverse engineer it by importing the EAR in NWDS and modify it as per your requirement and following the steps mentioned in help.
to know if you are modifying the correct EAR go to application.xml and check what is the application alias mentioned over there same will be configured in NWA under alias for application for login
as per your screenshot its mentioned as /new_logon
<context-root>new_logon</context-root>
Also check the J2EE engine .xml and check if you have your client name mentioned as company name.
Other check you can do id check images in the war file if those are present which are appearing on logon page when open,you can right click on image on opened portal logon page and get its name check in NWDS imported project war file if those images are present.you can do other chaecks in rendered code as per your customization to confirm if you are modiftyinfg the correct logon page ear or war file.
i guess if you dont have any the previous custom ear it might be under your provider location and application alias folder location not sure of it though :
<Installation drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\<providername>\com.sap.security.core.logon
\servlet_jsp\new_logon\tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war
you can ask your server team if they found any war file in folder <provider name> or application alias folder or how many war file they found if they search with tc~sec~ume~logon~ui.war file ,aks them to give the one which is situated in your <client/provider.com > folder.

Collaboration rooms and Inner Page == embedded

Hi,
does Inner Page Isolation Mode has always have to be set at URL?
When we set Inner Page Isolation Mode to Embedded the collaboration rooms and collaboration detailed navigation are not working anymore and the browser is redirected to:
http://somecompany.org:50100/irj/portal?standAlone=true&windowId=WID1243256552687
Any ideas what could be the cause and how to fix it, besides setting Inner Page isolation mode to URL?
Maybe EPCM.doNavigate used in collaboration rooms requires that the Inner Page Isolation Mode should be set to URL?

I am doing the logon page customization but i am not finding the stylesheet to change the background colors.
While testing it is taking the default css stylesheet.

If we select dataset then it will export all the objects, and I couldn't find option in Single SRM object.

Hi Prabhat,
Unfortunately, oma export doesnu2019t allow export of single extension. Either you would have to do it as a dataset which will export all extension definitions, or use csv. Iu2019ve always used csv to manage extensions.
For page customization, create a custom oml query by duplicating the standard page customization oml query and add your filter conditions in the WHERE clause of the SQL. Then use the Object List option and select the custom oml query. The other option would be use csv import. Iu2019ve always preferred csv for page customizations.

Page customization ends with HTTP 500 on APEX 4.0, 3.2 & 3.0

I'm very pleased how well APEX Listener works with our existing applications (100s of pages). So far we've found only one issue we can't work around:
The problem occurs when user is trying to save page customization when using APEX Listener.
Steps to replicate:
1) Create an APEX page with region and set "Customization" to "Customizable and Shown By Default"
2) Run the page & click on "Customize" link
3) The customization pop-up is presented
4) Click on "Apply changes"
5) Error: HTTP Status 500 - System Unavailable. Please try again later.
The Apache Tomcat stdout log is attached bellow.
When we use Oracle HTTP server (running on the same database) no error occurs.
Configurations (3 environments with the same results):
* APEX Listener 0.10.110.10.57
* Apache Tomcat 6.0.26 (Windows)
* APEX 3.0.1 & Database 11g Release 1 (Windows)
* APEX 3.2.1 & Database 11g Release 2 (Linux & Windows)
