Desktop Integration: disabling content server grabbing of MS Office dialogs

Hi guys,
Is it possible to disable or modify the UCM Desktop Integration's MS Office integration behaviour? Specifically, the way it commandeers the MS Office Open and Save dialog boxes is frustrating.
I'm new to UCM, so apologies if I've missed something obvious. However, I couldn't find anything in the Desktop Integration Suite doco, or in this forum.

Thanks very much for the reply. I can't find any references to a config file - I've searched through both the Desktop Integration Installation and User guides, looked through the installed files on my PC and superficially searched the Windows registry. I'm guessing the registry keys at (*1) below (on my machine, at least) somehow trigger the integration with each MS Office app, but the relevant registry values look like binary data to me, so aren't apt for manual hacking.
I'll leave this issue aside for the time being - I have no urgent need to solve it. I very much appreciate your insight, though.
EDIT - the only config file reference I found - and meant to mention - was the Lotus Notes 'notes.ini' file that you must manually edit. This is described on page 4-4 of the Installation Guide. This effectively allows manual configuration of the Lotus Notes integration.

Integration Framework content doesn't show in Windows Server 2008 R2

I have a new install of B1 8.81 PL06 on Windows Server 2008 R2. All seemed to install fine but when I log into B1 I get the error:
Error HTTP 500 - Internal Error
I logged into the Integration Framework to check the SLD and all I see is the menu. I click on a menu item and nothing happens. Does anyone know if there is a Windows Server setting or IE9 setting that is preventing me from seeing the Integration Framework content?

Content Server & cFolder Integration via Different Application

Hello,
We have cFolder 3.1 and content server. cFolder and Content Server is integrated. User can add file via cFolder & this file will be visible in cFolder.
But Customer has a different requirement.
They want to upload files to content Server Directly(ie not thru cFolders) using a web dynpro application, after uploading, a Document Link needs to be created in cFolder linking to Content Server. (Please note that this has to be document link and not a Bookmark/Hyper Link ). So that customier will still be able to use his API for reading the file content.
Can you plrease suggest the way forward?

I think you can try the following way for this:
You need to be able to call the API CFX_API_DOC_CREATE, while uploading the document in the webdynpro application. While creating the document, you can provide the URl instead of original file path and save it.

I am presently using Fatwire(Divine) Content Server. I have uploaded certain documents using Fatwire flex attributes(metadata). I want to use portal search engine for implementing Full Text Search of uploaded documents. how can i map metadata(attribute) of fatwire/divine content server with the portal server search engine metadata.
I hope someone might have tried it earlier while integrating content server with the portal. please give me some suggestions in this regard.

I don't know about the metadata mapping,
but you can definitely index the FatWire local
data directory with the search engine.
Just specify "file:///.../<fatwiredir>" as starting point for your search robot.

Content Server 6.1: How to disable check-in/out opertation?

Hello,
We have developed a custom application that would process the content items through a workflow. Our business users are frustrated with the content items being accidentally locked out. They would edit a content item and would approve it to the next stage without checking in the content item. As such the items remains locked by them and the portal administrator has to manually unlock the item through content server explorer.
Is there a way to disable the entire check-in/out operation? Or as alternative is there a way to automatically check-in the content item when the user approves the content item?

Hi Jignesh, I apologize, I thought I was on 6.1 but in fact I'm on 6.2:(
I assume they are fairly similar though.
The solution I was talking about is to go into your publisher explorer and set the folder security in such a way that the checkin/checkout buttons don't appear.
I dont know which setting that is off the tob of my head but I believe its Submitter. They will only see one button called "Submit for Approval". So that could be for your workflow initiator. Then the remainder of your workflow people can have the same security option, except the final publisher who will need Editor permission to see the Publish button, which will also allow them to checkin.

SRM and SAP DMS Content server integration.

is this possible? if so what is the methord that should be used to connect SRM and DMS Content server.

also we would love to make use of DMS funtionality for maintaining documents in SRM, which i tought is not at all possible as we could not run any of the DMS Transaction in SRM like CV01N /2 /3/ 4, is there any way to integrate DMS and SRM.

If i understand your question correctly you want to transfer documents which are attached at the shopping cart level in SRM to flow in to ECC at PR or PO level? If that the case following steps require to have documents flow into ECC.
SRM Side:
Implement BADI BBP_CREATE_BE_RQ_NEW (If you are on classic scenario i.e. Shopping cart to PR creation) or BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW (For extended classic) with following code:
cs_ctrl_att-BE_DOC_TYPE = 'SRM'.
cs_ctrl_att-BE_storage_cat = 'DMS_C1_ST'.
cs_ctrl_att-TRANSFER_ACTIVE = 'X'.
ECC Side:
-Create new document type for SRM with T.code DC10. Following parameters need to be set for that
a.     Check Use KPro
b.     Check Version Assignment
c.     Check Change Docs
d.     Assign Internal number range as u201C02u201D and external number range as u201C01u201D
e.     Select Number Exit u201CMCDOKZNRu201D

Firstly, there is some difference between both content server and dms server i try explain about the difference:
1.The DMS transactions run on the ECC system, but the documents can be stored on the content server.
2.Tx CV04N is used to select the document and a the documents is retrieved from the content server.

Inbound Adapter / 'Sink' failing for Content Server on Subscription Client

I am running into an issue in configuring the Outbound - Inbound Adapters for Connection Server / Subscription Client against Content Server. The details are below. Would sincerely appreciate if anyone can help with this.
I have installed a Oracle UCM setup together with two Content Server instances (Contribution instance and Live instance), a Connection Server and a Subscription Client - all within the same virtual machine on top of Windows XP SP2 OS and Oracle 10g Database.
I have further configured the Outbound Adapter on the Connection Server and the Inbound Adapter on the Subscription Client. All installation and configuration has been done following the step-by-step process from the relevant installation guides.
We have tested the connectivity between the Connection Server and the Subscription Client for a simple file-based content source and it works fine - i.e., files added to a directory registered as a source on connection server are retrieved and sent to the subscription client and received there successfully / dropped in the specified target client directory.
However, this transfer fails for the Content Server Outbound-Inbound Adapter connectivity. We have an Archive in Content Server registered as a "CNSArchive" and exporting successfully to the CNS Server. The registered outbound adapter is successfully able to receive these updates and are visible through the Connection Server
interface. The subscription client is also apparently able to receive these updates
correctly and writes them to the specified folder/directory on the client;
however fails to "batch load" these and reports a failure writing to the
Content Sink.
What we would like is for the ability to establish end-to-end connectivity between the contribution content server instance and the live content server using the connection server + outbound adapter on the sending end together with the subscription client + inbound adapter together on the receiving end. This is failing.
I have double checked the cns.oracle.config (connection server config), siclone.config (subscription client config), and the source content server's configuration (config.cfg), and all seems to be well. Not really sure therefore what is causing this.

To reduce your computer's vulnerability to certain virus attacks, the TCP/IP and UDP network ports of Microsoft SQL Server 2000, MSDE, or both have been disabled. Content Server SQL Server 2000 Connection Error (very annoying)

All of the diagnostic tests are failing because of SQLServer connection error (see below for diagnosticTests.jsp output).
I checked database.content.properties file, all connection information is correct. The portal is running on the same SQL server. So I know that the SQL server is running just fine. Delay viewing archivelink images held in SAP content server

Hi,
We have implemented an indexing solution utilising SAP Archivelink and Content server. We are noting considerable delays when viewing documents, this only happens for the first document in a transaction and can take up to 6 minutes to display a document. As our users have a person on the telephone at the time this results in alot of smalltalk which is not desireable.
Does anyone know of any performance issues related to document storage in content server?

I working with Oracle Content Server 10g and Desktop Integration Suite and I will like to know how can I restrict or enable some specific metadatas from the default metadata, for differents content folder. This is different from the function: Information Field Inherit Configuration.

I am a bit unclear about your question:
- do you ask about metadata assigned to folders, or
- do you ask about metadata assigned to items in folders?
Starting from #2, if you forget about folders, there is standard functionality that you can use to restrict, enable, ... metadata for an item. Read this chapter: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e10978/c04_metadata.htm#sthref288 to get full details.
I am not sure whether you can use anything of this functionality (profiles, option lists, etc.) when you check in a new folder. I doubt it, though. The logic of folders is slightly different - whilst e.g. profiles correspond to "content item", you don't find such a correspondence in folder's hierarchy (why a folder could not contain various content types, for instance?)
Last question is, from where you want to use this functionality - even for items. In 10g, Desktop Integration Suite's functionality was rather limited (often it was supposed that a user will just 'throw' an item to a folder, and metadata will be inherited from folders). You might have to upgrade your DIS to 11g; it should work even with 10g Content Server, but make sure you verify it before mass upgrade. In 11g, DIS should offer profiles, etc. with full capabilities.

JDev Integrated Web Logic Server fails

I'm a newbie with WLS. I've installed JDEV 11.1.1.3 in Windows XP SP3, and installed extensions for Webcenter.
Now trying to go through webcenter tutorial, I arrived at point where I'm trying to run a small application,
but nothing works. I've searched and searched the internet for clues, help, and tried multiple things, but nothing helps.
First, I get the warning message

and then when I disable all the network connections for these IPs, just to see if this would help,
then the server appears to start successfully, but the tutorial app that compiled successfully does not start to run in any brower.
I go through the properties of the Application Server for the Integrated Web Logic Server to test the connection and I get

Cannot establish connection.

How to install ADF Desktop Integrator on mac (using jdev 11.1.2.1.0)

Hi Everyone,
I got a requirement for my client where they want to use microsoft excel to upload/edit/delete content of one of our ADF application data and we are thinking of using ADF Desktop Integrator option for achieving this. I tried to install ADF Desktop Integrator from my Jdeveloper->Tools->'Install ADF Desktop Integrator' but this option got disabled on my mac. Is there any way to enable it or is it mac not compatible for ADF desktop integrator tool? Also most of my client team members are using mac and hence I cannot ignore mac option and switch to pc.
Any help or suggestions on this would be very help and appreciated.

Hi.
ADF Desktop integration relies on Microsoft .NET and Microsoft Internet Explorer; both are available on Windows only. Thus, ADF Desktop Integration is not available on Apple OS X.

I’m working with the Desktop Integration Suite version 10gR3 and the Oracle content server 10.350, but I have not been able to show the window with required fields “Metadata”, when the user drop a new file in folder of the windows explore. Which configuration have to be checked to solve this issue ?

Hi ,
On UCM server install the latest Folders_g component from patchset : 13502938
After that while creating the folder there will be the option "Enable Metadata Prompt"
Check that option and save .
After that from DIS client drag-drop a content to UCM folder (which has the above configuration set) , and then the checkin prompt will show up .
