Desktop login URL ?

URL i used to access the desktop is:
http:x.x.x.x:80/portal/dt?provider=MyContainer
The problem is that the portal expects 'amconsole' to be up and running without timeout. As suggested in the forum I tried using: http:x.x.x.x:80/portal/dt
which displays sunone sample portal. The only 'org' within the portal is 'ISDDemo'. So I did not specify 'org' in the url. (though i tried once for trial).
I get a empty container in the desktop on running the portal without amconsole.
Developers guide suggests me to name the container in the url which has all the customized channels. Appreciate if anyone throw some light on this.
Thanks.

You might have already checked it but just in case, did you check the server console when this happens ?
If there is any problem with the template file, it doesnt create a desktop even though it doesnt complain about this explicitly in the Portal Admin.
Cheers,
Satish

  • Login URL and External Applications

Are there any guidelines for finding the login URL's for External Applications? For example, if you want to set up E*Trade as an External Application, you go to https://www.etrade.com and look at the source. You find that form that submits the user id and password is thus:
    <form name="myForm" action="/login.fcc" method="post" autocomplete="off" onsubmit="return populateTarget();">
However, setting the login URL to https://www.etrade.com/login.fcc fails.
Any suggestions on how to form this?

I went to https://www.etrade.com and looked at the source. I didn't get the same source that you got -- pI don't know why. I am in the United States, and perhaps you are notm and that makes the difference.
In the source I saw, the login <form> tag was:
    <form name="myForm" onSubmit="doMagic()" method="post" autocomplete="off">
Looking at the javascript function "doMagic" I noticed that it sets two cookies before doing the submission. The "login.fcc" page may be failing the login request for lack of these cookies.
I also noticed that the script sets the action HREF with
    document.myForm.action = "https://us.etrade.com/login.fcc";
(in the case where the locale is US).
Perhaps you need a specific country host for "login.fcc", not www.etrade.com.

Situation is this.. was using 8.1.6 EE and Oracle Portal.. was able to get the Oracle Portal page up and after a while the application died.. this happened numerous times. Found in one of these forums that a bug existed (UTL_HTTP) and recommended going to 8.1.7 EE because of a patch. I migrated my 8.1.6 EE to 8.1.7 EE(made sure procedures & packages were valid). I'm able to bring up the Oracle Portal page but when I go to login I get this:

  • Changing the value of the login URL when load balancers are used?

    Howdy,
We are running Sun access manager 7 and web policy agent 2.2 on two Sun One web servers. Both of these servers sit behind a load-balancer, and the load-balancer is terminating SSL. The servers are named server1.domain and server2.domain, and the load-balancer FQDN customers access is vip.domain (the servers and the VIP are both in the same domain). Our configuration is currently not working, and it looks like the AMAgent.properties "com.sun.am.policy.am.login.url" value is to blame. When we set AMAgent.properties to the value of one of the hosts, the login redirect sent to clients contains the FQDN of one of the hosts. When we change the name of AMAgent.properties to the load-balancer VIP, the policy agent is no longer to talk to the access manager. After spending a ton of time reading through the forums and the available documentation, it looks like the property "com.sun.am.policy.am.library.loginURL" would fix our problem. Well, we set this value to the name of the server, but for some reason the policy agent is still trying to contact the load-balancer using the value that is listed in the com.sun.am.policy.am.login.url property (we verified this by setting the debug level to all:256). Given this information, is there a way to configure the policy agent use a URL that contains the name of the host it resides on, and have clients use a login URL that contains the FQDN of the VIP? I have looked everywhere for an answer to this, but cannot seem to locate one.
    Thanks for any insight,
    - Ryan

    1. have you configured an Access Manager site?
    2. The root CA cert should be imported in to the keystore in use wherever the agent has been installed.
    3. on the AM servers, put in an fqdn map for the loadbalancer...
When installing an agent, have it point to the load balancer FQDN, along with https as a protocol.
    Hope some of this helps.

I have the exact same problem.
my system hangs after solaris wants to start the "desktop login screen".
during the installation i had a problem that X or something couldnt start either. i had to use the console based installation (number 4.), with the standard interactive installation my system would hang after "discovering additional network devices".
i can use the failsafe option. i guess its something with X and my network card?

  • You cannot login because an error occurred while retrieving the login URL.(WWC-41441)

    Hi,
I have a Portal install with the following specifications:
    OS - Sun Solaris 2.6
    DB - 8.1.7.0.0
    iAS - 1.0.2.2
    Portal - 3.0.9.0.7
It was working fine. Then the initjvm.sql that installs the JVM
in the database was run. This was done as part of the steps
required for enabling the UTL_SMTP. The script ran without any
errors but after that Portal Login was failing with the following
    error:
You cannot login because an error occurred while retrieving the
    login URL. (WWC-41441)
and there were no Java classes present in the Portal or SSO
schema. To overcome this error I reloaded the SSOHash classes to
Portal and SSO schemas and ran ssodatan. The script ran
successfully and I was able to login to the Portal after that.
However, if I login as the administrator and try to create or
edit users from the Administer tab of Portal, the same error
    occurs again:
You cannot login because an error occurred while retrieving the
    login URL. (WWC-41441)
I can programmatically add users using the Security APIs.
The wwsec_enabler_config_info$ table of the Portal schema
contains one row but the wwsec_enabler_config_info$ table of the
    SSO Schema contains no rows.
This install of Portal is hosting a number of applications and as
such running opca again is not an option.
    Any workaround for this?
    Thanks,

  • How to customize SSO Login URL and EBS AppsLocalLogin URL

EBS version is 12.1.3 with SSO enabled (version 10.1.4.3)
    Original URL as follows:
    1) SSO Login : http://cmcsifsdev01.cmc.gov.my:8006
    2) EBS Local Login : http://cmcsifsdev01.cmc.gov.my:8006/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp
There was a requirement from user to change the HTTP port from 8006 to 80 and use custom url. Using metalink note : How To Configure Apache In R12 (10.1.3) To Listen on a Restricted Port Such as 80 or 443 [ID 578001.1], i managed to change it as follows:
    Current URL
    1) SSO Login : http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my
    2) EBS Local Login : http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp
But there is new requirement to the current URL as follows:
    New requirement:
    1) SSO Login : http://sifsstgsso.skmm.gov.my (change from 'http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my' to 'http://sifsstgsso.skmm.gov.my')
    2) EBS Local Login : http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my (change from 'http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp' to 'http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my')
Is it possible to implement this new requirement? If possible, please advice me further.
Appreciate any comments. Thank you in advance.

How many web tiers do u have?
    For,
    1) SSO Login : http://sifsstgsso.skmm.gov.my (change from 'http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my' to 'http://sifsstgsso.skmm.gov.my')
You can define change the EBS HTTP server to use a Virtual Host/Reverse Proxy in front (e.g. WebCache/Apache Standalone). Do re-register this mid tier with SSO Server.
You can follow:- Installing and Configuring Web Cache 10g and Oracle E-Business Suite 12 [ID 380486.1]
However that same web server is servicing for AppsLocalLogin.jsp also. So i am not really sure whether u can really define another virtual host on RP side to access it with a different URL.
    (2) EBS Local Login : http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my (change from 'http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp' to 'http://sifsstg.skmm.gov.my'))

  • Looking for a Splash screen for desktop login

Thats it, I have been looking for a splash screen application that can make a splash appear since my login begins with SLIM and that disappears once all startup applications have been loaded.
I tried plymouth, but I think it cannot be used for this purpose.
    Any recommendation for this? Thanks.

Do you mean you want a splash screen from the time when you complete logging in with Slim to the time the desktop has finished loading? If that is taking more than just a few seconds then I suggest you change desktops to something lighterweight. Mine takes about 2 seconds (wmii) - not even enough time for a splash scree!. Are you using KDE or Gnome because I believe you can set a startup splash with both those DE's . Check their documentation. Also, show us your ~/.xinitrc .

  • Mail Server takes control of my desktop login (and won't let me)

    Hi,
I have been running OS X Server for a few years just for a personal email address. The server runs on a static IP next to my desktop (also static IP). Has worked great even back when using a cube (now an older dual G5).
12 months ago upgraded everything to Leopard (including OSX Server) and one aspect of the behaviour changed. Mail still works fine and is the only server activity running (both as per the server pref pane and the server admin utility), however I cannot log in to my desktop normally when the server is connected to the network.
My usual login screen comes up (along with another entry "Other" but it will not accept my password. Unplug the network cable on the server, and the login on my desktop reverts to normal. Screen sharing and file sharing between the two machines works fine once I am logged in. I thought upgrading to Snow Leopard might fix this but it didn't so I am writing now to see what my server might be doing that I am unaware of. Thanks for any help!

    Hi
On your Desktop client launch Directory Utility > Edit Menu. Is Root enabled? If it is disable it. 'Other' should hopefully disappear. If it does not quit all applications, launch terminal and issue this command:
    sudo rm -R -v /Library/Preferences/DirectoryService
    sudo reboot now.
On successful login the 'Other' option should disappear. Did you by any chance make your Desktop client local admin name and password the same as the Server? If you did change one or the other.

  • Streaming Win7 desktop or URL to DLNA TV

I've seen various reports that it is possible to configure DLNA/upnp servers for Win such as TVersity and VC to stream a live windows desktop to a DLNA-capable TV (i.e. on that supports DMR). Based on what I read, the configurations don't seem to work consistently
and seem a bit complicated. Can anyone here with experience with this comment on: (1) what server are you using and how well does it work over a 802.11n wireless lan (2) can any Microsoft streaming products achieve this? (3) is it possible to stream
urls to a DNLA TV with any Win7 software that doesn't require complex configuration?  (this would be similar to some of the higher-end Samsung SmartTVs that have built-in web-browser capability).

I know exactly what you are trying to do. The short answer is "not really". My
solution was the Intel WiDi (wireless display) and Netgear Push2TV.

  • Story Desktop Login issues with AIR 3.4

    Hi all,
Recently users who have upgraded to AIR 3.4 may have faced issues where Story Free users are not being able to log into the Story Desktop Application (AIR) or Story Plus users needing to re-enter their login credentials in the Story Desktop Application.
These issues got introduced in AIR 3.4 in which the AIR application is not able to access its Encrypted Local Store (ELS).  More details about this issue is available at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4642305#4642305?tstart=0
The AIR team is working on this issue. Will keep the forum updated about the developments.
Workaround for all of these issues is to un-install AIR 3.4 from the system and then install AIR 3.3 which can be downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/air/otherversions/

Is there a way to just uninstall Story?  I don't see an Uninstaller, nor can I drag Story to the trash (I am using an iMac), it refuses to be thrown away.  When I try to install the newer version of story I get the message:
    Sorry, An Error has occurred.
This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance.
Actually, I would be fine with just uninstalling Story if that is possible.  Any ideas on how to do that?
    Thanks
