Desktop Manager cleared all Calendar entries.

Hello,
I installed the latest version of Desktop Manager on my new laptop and was checking it out when I pressed the clear button in the Advanced Backup / Restore screen. It was at the time on the Calendar line so it cleared all the entries in the Calendar. No "Are you sure?" no nothing! Just cleared it....
As my previous laptop was really really slow, my last backup is from February. So before I restore that one, does anyone know of a way to "undelete" the entries? Seeing the speed at which the Desktop Manager cleared it, I was wondering if it didn't simply set the nuber of entries to 0 but didn't actually delete anything. Could that be reset?
Any help / clues would be really appreciated as this little device is my whole life!!
Many thanks.

I also recently started having the problem described above. The Calendar events stopped showing on the Today screen using any of my Today themes. I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 using the 4.5 OS.
I found that a Google calendar utility was running. I deleted it and then went to Options-->Advanced-->Default Services. The Calendar setting (CICAL) had been changed to point to my Google email account rather then my Yahoo email account. I changed it back to Yahoo and the problem disappeared on all Today themes. The calendar events were now showing on the Today screen.
I haven't installed anything lately so what I am guessing happened in my case has to do with the QuickPull utility for soft resetting the system.  Recently, the free version of the program has started displaying ads following the reset. If you are not careful to tab to 'OK' you might install whatever is being pushed. I am guessing that I did exactly that and just didn't notice it. The Google app installed itself as a startup program and was probably responsible for changing my Calendar CICAL option.
There is no need to use the Blackberry Desktop manager when doing the above corrections and a reset is not required.
Hope this helps somebody out there.

  • Using the USB cable to sync my blackberry deletes all calendar entries older than 3 mos

I'm not very good at this kind of thing, so please pardon what I'm sure will be mistakes/omissions as I describe my problem.
Every time I sync my blackberry using the USB cable (I'm told by my boyfriend who is an IT guy that I can't sync it wirelessly although I don't know why), all of my calendar entries in Outlook get erased--that is, all the entries that are older than 3 mos.  I frequently use those entries as reference so I can't lose them--so now I'm terrified to sync my blackberry.
Any help will be much appreciated!

I just found this on the support page and am going to try it for a couple of days to see if it solves the problem:

    Overview
When synchronizing the Calendar via the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, past calendar events are being deleted on the desktop calendar application.
    Cause
Calendar items on the BlackBerry smartphone were deleted as a result of the keep appointments setting in the Calendar was set to delete older appointments.
    Resolution
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:
    Task 1
Configure the BlackBerry smartphone to keep past appointments:
Open the Calendar application on the BlackBerry smartphone and press the Menu key.
Select Options and then General Options.
Within General Options set the Keep Appointments options to Forever.
    Task 2
Configure BlackBerry Desktop Manager calendar synchronization options:
For BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.5 to 5.0:
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer with a USB cable and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Select Synchronize from the main menu of BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Select the Synchronization link and click on the button labeled Synchronization to configure the synchronization settings on the BlackBerry smartphone.
    Select the Calendar.
Select the option to Synchronize with Microsoft Outlook and click Next.
Select either the Two way or One way sync and click Next.
Select the Default profile for Microsoft Outlook.
For the Calendar date range select the option to Synchronize items within a range of days, configure the date range to sync 30 days in the past and 365 days in the future.
    Click Next.
Continue through the configuration wizard and click Finish and then OK.
    Perform a new synchronization.
For BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.2 and 4.3:
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer with a USB cable and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Select Synchronize from the main menu of BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Click on the Configuration tab and then on Configure Sync.
If you are still prompted to make deletions from Microsoft Outlook for past calendar events that were not manually deleted, then you may need to repeat the steps above and synchronize with a smaller date range for past events.
For BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 1.0 for Mac OS:
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the Mac with a USB cable and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
    Select Calendar.
    Select Two-Way.
Select All Calendars or Selected Calendar, checkmark calendars to use during synchronization.
    Select Advanced Settings.
For the Calendar date range select the option to Only events, configure the date range to sync 30 days prior and 365 days after.
    Click on Sync.

I live in Canada.  Each time I travel to the US, I lose all calendar entries.  I have to erase all data, then restore from an iCloud backup.  Tedious.  iPhone 4, iOS 7.1, sync set to all events.  I only use the default calendar.  Do I have an incorrect setting?

I did find another point worth mentioning.
I use my iPhone 4 with a corporate Exchange email account.  I had deleted the account from my phone just before I did this backup/restore process...and I thought my battery drain was much, much better (if not outright fixed).
Later in the day, after seeing my battery life improve to near-new behavior, I re-added my Exchange mail account.  Considering I have 1 yahoo account and 3 gmail accounts, the Exchange account adds a 5th email account.
What happened?  Battery drain back to "worst case".  Removing or re-adding the Exchange account is like toggling between decent and terrible drain conditions.
Bottom line is that I re-added a couple dozen applications and battery life didn't change.  By far, the Exchange account drains the battery worse than any other app and setting.  This account must be polling very frequently and since people tend to send very large file attachments to that account, perhaps those effect the battery drain even though I have the account set to not download attachments.
Anyone running Microsoft Exchange might be able to confirm what I see?  If so I can open an enterprise ticket with Microsoft and bug them on this issue.

I deleted one of the email accounts from my i5 because I don't like all the password popups since upgradingto ios 7.2, and now ALL calendar entries are gone!  I need them!!!  Can anyone help?

Well you need to add the email account back to get the calendar entries. Transfer them to another email provider.  Then delete the account you don't want.

  • Switch all calendar entries from "private" calender to "normal/standard" ca

    Hi guys,
is it possible to switch all calendar entries from "private" calender to "normal/standard" calendar in one step without moving entry and entry for itself to the other calendar?
    Maybe in MobileMe?
    Thx!

    OK,
I found out what was wrong myself.
In the end it turned out that it had nothing to do with the iOS5 upgrade itself.
In case somebody else stumbles accross this very same problem, here's what was going on:
    - Within the latest lotus notes client (on PC) the user has the possibility to display (read-only) external calendar contents (e.g. google's calendar).
    - When setting this up you need to supply your external calendar's login/password information and next to that
    - also have the possibility to select "View this calendar when offline or on a mobile device"
It was this setting (which I probably accidentally enabled) causing the "issue". Deselecting this option made my duplicate entries disappear on my phone.

  • Not all calendar entries sync with desktop & Outlook

I'm running V5 of the DM and the OS on my 8900. I have 4 different email addresses on by blackberry - 2 regular internet email, 1 gmail and 1 facebook. Calendar entries from only one of my internet email address will sync back to Outlook. I just tried a test by entering 3 different calendar entries for later today under the two internet email accounts and the gmail account. Only the one entered on my personal email account synced when I ran desktop synchronization.
    I do not use BES
I do not use MS Exchange
Both email accounts are hosted by the same ISP
It used to sync fine until I upgraded to OS 5 from what I remember.
it is very frustrating because many of my calendar entries just never make it to my desktop but I have no apparent problem in the other direction.

  • Os 5.1 deleted ALL calendar entries

    Hello all,
    iPad One.
I've just updated to OS 5.1 and when I did a calendar entry all my previous entries disappeared!
I thought this only happened in Windows!!
This is NOT supposed to happen with an Apple product, or are we going the way of Windows?
Sorry for the rant, but my fault for not having done a sync for about a month, relying on Apple.
    Help.
    Regards
Geoff - Nordolk, UK not VA

No company, not even Apple, can guarantee your data's security.  Errors happen, and you've got to protect your data.  Unfortunately, if you didn't sync the iPad for a month before the update, there may not be any way to get the changes made during that month back.
What kind of calendar was it?  An iCloud calendar?  If so, do you have any other devices syncing with your iCloud calendar?  If you're using iCloud with iCal on one of your Macs, take that Mac offline and open iCal.  Export a copy of the calendar to an iCal Archive on your desktop.  Then make sure to do a full backup of that Mac, just in case.  Now go back online, and make sure it syncs with iCloud.  If all the events disappear, import the data you exported.  Then re-sync the iPad with iCloud.  That ought to get you back up and running.
In the future, prior to a system update on any device, you should back it up.  In the case of an iOS device, that means not only that you should sync it with your computer, but also that you should back up the computer.

  • E71 - Deleted all calendar entries in error

I have been a plonker.  I somehow managed to delete all my calendar entries and did not have a recent backup.
Any ideas if they are recoverable and if so how?
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Stuart,
I was also a Plonker and accidentally deleted all of my calendar entries and I hadn't backed them up. Did you find a way to retrieve them? If so please share!
    Cheers Julie

  • HT4968 Changed my iCloud password and have lost all calendar entries, how do I get them back?

I changed my iCloud password while working on my PC desktop and now I have lost all my calendar entries on my iPad and iPhone apart from repeat appointment entered prior to the change to iCloud.
How do I get entries back?

If you backup your iPad, the entries may be in your backup but only the entries as of the date of the last backup will be in there. You can try restoring from a backup which will also restore everything in the backup onto the iPad. You can't just select the calandra entries to be restored.

  • Trouble synching all calendar entries from phone to PC

I've just synched my phone to my PC.  When I look at my calendar (outlook) on my PC I can only see some of my calendar entries, not all of them.  I've narrowed this problem down to the fact that when I make calendar entries on my phone it offers me the option to send the appointment from my desktop, my work e-mail or my personal e-mail.  All entries sent via the desktop are now showing on my PC outlook calendar.  However, all entries sent via my work or personal e-mails are not showing on my PC outlook calendar.
How can I synch these other e-mail appointments with my PC?
    Thanks!!

By "desktop" I am having to assume you're BlackBerry is on a corporate BES enterprise account?
And, in addition to that, you have two other personal email accounts on the device?

  • Palm Desktop 4.1.4 Calendar entries disappear

    Hi
I am using Palm Desktop 4.1.4 not connected to any thing. Win XP 32 bit SP3.
Recent calendar entries (since Mid Feb 2012)  disappeared. I reentered them and checked a few times and they were still there. Then several hours later they disappeared again. Only recently entered calendar entries disappeared.
    • There is only one user.
    • I am showing all  private records.
    • The location of my Palm data folder has not changed
    • This has never happened before.
I have 1400 contacts and dates going back to 2000 so I am well under the maximum records.
    Thanks for any help

    Hi cygnusX1
    Thanks a lot for responding.
I don't believe the Palm Desktop stayed open when the data was found missing. I believe I had closed it and then found the data missng upon reopening it...but I'm not perfectly sure about that.
Since I posted, I testing it again by entering 3 dates in Feb and March 2012.  I check a few hours later and the dates were still there, even after closing the PD and reopening it a few times...then the next day, the newly entered dates were gone. All other existing data that was entered in the Calendar, Contacts etc seems to be uneffected.
    ==================================
I just made the following observation:
    ==================================
It seems as though only data that was entered from Jan 1st 2012 and onward, is disappearing. Contact data entered  from Jan 1st 2012 and onward,  has also disappeared. In the contact data, I made a change to an existing record in Jan 2012 and the original record is there but the change I made has disappeeared.
There is existing  data in the year 2012 calendar that was entered before Dec 31 and that data is still there as well as all previous data.
As far as your suggestion to export data, uninstall and reinstall, I will try that as soon as this post runs it course. I want to wait to see if any solution appear in the short term. Then, if the reinstall does not help, I guess I will have to consider a different Calendar and Datebook app.
I would like to know what is going on. This seems very strange. It's never happened before. Been using this app for many years.
    Thanks again for any help

  • IPhone 6 lost all calendar entries...all of a sudden hothing shows up. Any ideas?

We were trying to use a family calendar on Outlook.com and my wife was entering items in her iPhone but they weren't showing up on the Outlook calendar...no problem, except that today all the entries on my wife's phone disappeared.  No settings were changed, just gone from one moment to the next.  Anyone know what could have happened to them?  We're talking many, many work, home and personal appointments, tasks, deadlines that will be impossible to replace entirely.  Are these stored on the phone and if so, is there a way to get them back?  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Scott

Furthermore, I can't backup or restore the phone because the passcode is active and Find My iPhone is on respectively. Hooray.

  • Unsync + sync = all calendar entries gone! Help???

So I had my contacts and calendars synced with mobile me. I went into settings on my iphone and unsynced them both. Then realised that that deleted all my contacts and calendar entries from my iphone. So I synced it back up.
But all my calendar entries are gone! They're not on mobile me and they're not on my iphone! They seem to be completely gone! Is there anyway to get them back? I'm really screwed if I can't get them back.
Also, my contacts won't seem to sync back to my phone. I'm not as worried about them, though, because they are still no my mobile me.
    Please help!

    Ok,
I backed it all up.   One thing i did notice while backing up...
When doing the custom backup, I noticed two entries on my device..  Calendar and Calendar-all
There are 447 entries on my calendar-all which DO NOT show up on my Outlook calendar and
5 entries on the calendar that DO show up on my Outlook calendar.
This could be a clue.  Now that I think about it, this issue showed up around the time that I updated my bb software to 4.5
Any idea what is the difference between calendar and calendar-all?
