Desktop manager in english

Hi,
Whenever i install the BlackBerry Desktop manager, the program defaults the language to arabic, and thus installs in arabic. Not even changing the country would turn the setup to english.
How can i install the program in engish, knowing that i just downloaded the latest multilanguage version from blackberrry website.
please advise,
regards,

Just for the record, the english only desktop manager is not there at your link.  There is only the multi-language version.  The English only link is for the DEVICE MANAGER.
Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Thank you for that update...as you may have noticed, I posted that link 2.5 years ago...so it's not all that unlikely that they may have changed the content in the intervening time period.
Good luck!

  • Pearl 8100 desktop manager

I have lost my desktop software manager for the pearl 8100 running version 4.2.  I have tried to download from the website but everything that I try from the dropdown menu doesn't work.  Which one is the right one?

Uninstall BB Desktop Software you already have installed on your desktop computer.
Check this link for instructions for clean uninstall of this software.
Afer BB Desktop Software is uninstalled, open this link: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    Click on "Download" button.
In drop-down list select: BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.7
Click on "Next" button below the drop-down list
    Find
Desktop Manager 4.7.0 B59 English - Without Media Manager
    and download it.
When it is downloaded - install it.

  • Desktop manager will not install after fresh download

i have downloaded ver 5 desktop manager several times and it is not able to install.  I have completely un-uninstalled the previous software and deleted the regristry keys, RIM.
After downloading the new version of software (5.01) off of the BB website and extracting the files, it will ask to install in english and then my issue pops up:  a windows installer window pops up, with information and no errors.  then the installer closes.  the installer closes out and will not continue.
the desktop manager software will not load and i have tried several different downloads, cleaned installs and i even tried ver 4.6.
    ideas?

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to see if it helps out. Can read up on that and other things to try when Windows Installer gives errors from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175

  • Help: BlackBerry Desktop Manager failed

The error that I had was
"BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to validate your BlackBerry® device update. Validation failed because a module marked for add (net_rim_platform_resource__pt) is not available on local disk "
I could not install anything because of that error. So I choose to uninstalled languages except for english and the myspace app just to see what would happen. Everything was uninstalled perfectly, the installation of the trial app installed at the same time. No errors so far.

  • Desktop manager for mac will not read the memory card

I have a Storm and the desktop manager does everything correctly except it will not recognize the media card for music.  It says "please insert a media card in your device."  Ive got the 8GB microSD card and it shows up in the phone memory but i cant load any music from my computer.

OK, I spent an hour and a half on the phone with RIM support this morning trying to fix this very thing with SUCCESS!!!  Here is what you need to do.  Keep in mind that this fix can only be done on a PC and NOT a Mac.  Sucks, but its reality.  Click on the link below and make sure that the PC your doing this on has the BB desktop manager installed on it.  I went to my dads house and used his PC.  After the tech and I learned that the DM has to be installed before you start the fix we were able to resolve the problem and the DM on the mac recognizes the media card.  I'm also able to see the BB1 and BB2 icons on the desktop now so I can drag and drop if I want.  I hope this helps you all.  If you need additional help with this please ask.  I may not be the most tech savy person here but I may be able to help a little.  Here you go:
NOTE: MAKE SURE THAT THE DESKTOP MANAGER IS INSTALLED ON THE PC YOUR USING FIRST.  I ONLY INSTALLED THE ENGLISH VERSION WITHOUT MEDIA SYNCH (to reduce download size and time)  AND IT WORKED GREAT.
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/documentLink.do?externalID=KB19717
Follow the directions to the tee and it should work fine.
PS:  If you have problems with your blackberry and you cant find the fix here or on CB call your carrier tech support.  If they cant resolve they are pretty quick at getting RIM on the case and resolving without you getting charged for it.  Verizon was helpful at that and when I spoke with BB tech support they were extremely helpful.  I was very impressed.
I hope this helps all of you with this problem.  Good luck out there!!!!

  • How to change BB desktop manager language ?

I downloaded BB desktop manager many times. Each time I download only ARABIC language is being installed. I tried downloading the ENGLISH version also. But STILL I have the same trouble. I read your post regarding this but I couldn't get any right solution for this. Please if anyone knows the correct step by step procedure for changing the language or any other solutions it would be really thankful.

On another note - how do you insert screen shots into a msg such as this?? I tried the Paste from Word but that did not work for whatever reason....
    Thanks....
In order to post a picture, you will first have to host it online at any one of the many free or paying hosting sites across the web. Photobucket is a good example. Then you can either post the picture as a link (suggested) or as a picture to be displayed. Either of those two can be done by clicking one of the two buttons in the posting menu above your message box when you are typing a response or new thread. The "Insert/edit link" button looks like a simple, silver chain link. The "Insert/edit image" looks like a tree with a blue background. Good luck.

  • Desktop Manager v. 4.5 Problems

I have downloaded the Desktop Manager 4.5 multilingual with media manager, when i try to install it there is a message stating that the file is corrupted or ther is a problem at the end. I have used WinZip and winrar, because the self extracting feature (.exe) does not work.
    Any comments?
My OS is Windows Vista Home Basic.
My BB is the BlackBerry Curve 8320
    Thank you very much!!
    Best Regards,
    Miguel

Many thanks!! I did exactly that, downloaded the English version and it worked just fine; the OS should not be a problem because Windows Vista and XP are in full use.
Perhaps the problem is within RIM itself, I hope they will post a solution soon
    Best Regards
    Miguel

  • Can't find Desktop Manager Software

I don't have my original disk anymore.  I just upgraded my Alltel 8130 to ver. 4.5 from 4.3 on a new computer, but BBDMS did not load on my computer.  The upgrade only loaded files in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion" for the upgrading loader.  I thought BBDMS would show up when my 8130 OS was upgraded.  How can I get this program?

You can download the latest version of Desktop Manager here:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
    Some suggestions.
First, download the English Version Without Media Manager (61 Mb) instead of the version with Media Manager (192 Mb). Aside from the obvious difference in download side, Media Manager has problems with Vista and any other Roxio software you might have installed, and not worth the installation space (over 200 Mb after installation).
Second, the EXE you download is actually a self extracting Zip file. Use WinZip or other file unarchiver to extract the file to an empty directory, then run BlackBerrySetup.exe from that directory to install Desktop Manager. If you don't, you'll eventually lose the MSI Setup file and be unable to use Add/Remove Programs (Program Features in Vista) to change your setup.
    Good luck.

  • Unreadable Desktop Manager software

Recently downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager and cannot get the software to properly display...all the letters are just squares!  have checked language both computer and software were set to US English.  Am using an Acer Aspire 5810T.  Had the earlier version of Desktop Manager working just fine.
Appreciate any suggestions from people who might have encountered and resolved a similar problem.

    Hey lfassam,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear about the issue.  This issue is caused by installing BlackBerry Desktop Software in a different language or that the previous versions are not completely removed.
    Perform the following:
    1. Perform a clean uninstall of the BlackBerry Desktop Software by following ALLthe steps in this KB article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206
    2. Restart the computer and go to www.blackberry.com/desktop and choose PC and select English.  Make sure you save the file.
    3.  Run the install and restart the computer and then try to access BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Let me know if you run into any trouble.

  • Trouble with new install od Desktop Manager 4.2

I'm new to Forums but I can't seem to fine help anywhere else!  I have had a Blackberry 8100 for a while.  All worked well with my old Pentium 4.  I have moved ovet to an i7 processor and Windows 7.  I have read a few messages on here and have corrected the USB power problem.  I have downloaded and installed Drivers DM4.5_B13 and now the connection is seen by DM.  I have a problem now that some of the program is in English and some is in another language!  I'm guessing it's Arabic or similar.  Things like Microsoft Outlook Takvim and in the fields section one side says Title and the other says Unvan or Address on one is Eposta Adres.
    Can anyone help me?

If you were successfully able to install BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2, I would go through the clean reload process as shown here:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320
This will make sure any old files are removed from your computer before installing the new one.

  • Desktop manager for Boost Mobile 8530 smartphone...help?

I have the BB 8530 from Boost Mobile but the desktop manager will not detect the device when connected to USB port. I am running Vista Home Prem (64-bit). I have installed Desktop Manager v5.0.0 to no success. Vista does not seem to recognize the device at all or at least not getting anykind of notification that I plugged it in. Do I need to install device drivers for the BB?? I thought DM would have them included?? I am trying to change the language on the device to spanish from english and was told it had to be done through Desktop manager.
    Thanks for the help!!

  • Can not install Desktop Manager because of DEP.

    Good day BlackBerry users,
I've just got myself a BlackBerry Storm 1, and I'd like to install the desktop manager.
I've downloaded the install from the site and I tried to install it.
In the beginning it's going well, I start it, select my country... but then...
...When I've selected my country and I click next the install freezes and I get the DEP error.
I've looked around these forums, but I do not get any help.
    Could someone please help me?
I'm pretty annoyed by this error.
I hope to get a useful answer.
    Kind Regards,
    Jurriën van Rooij.

Unfortunately no, like with most software installations, information has to be written to certain parts of the computer, such as the registry, and you can't just use a USB flash drive to run your applications.
This error is a Microsoft Windows error and occurs when Windows detects code running from a protected location.  At this point, Microsoft is your best bet for support as this is not a BlackBerry Desktop Manager error.
    Thanks

  • Desktop Manager 6.0 stopped working

For no apparent reason my DM version 6 stopped working yesterday.  I have de- and re-installed it and rebooted with no improvement.  When the application opens I see a partially loaded screen.  Very limited text and drop down arrows that do nothing, no menu options.  I do not get an error message.  I'm using Windows 7 and nothing about my laptop has changed since the last time I used the DM, except for I installed SKYPE.
What can I do if a re-install did not take care of it?
    Thanks,
    Carolyn
