I have a couple of videos in m4v format that synchronizes to the Playbook but I cannot find them on the Playbook in Videos only the demo video.  Where do they go and how can I access them?

This happened to me too. They must be taking up space somewhere... would like to know where they went.

  • Desktop Manager Music Sync Error

Whenever I sync my music to my Blackberry Torch 9800 with Desktop Manager, I keep getting an error. It never used to happen until one day I tried to sync my music and an error occurs after about half the songs were put on to the device. I tried many times after that, also uninstalling and reinstalling Desktop Manager and still didn't work. Please Help...

All I know is the error window was very vague. It said something like an error occured during the sync process.

  • On both my desktop and notebook, sync just stops working and needs to be set up again! Although my account is still there ?

On both my desktop and notebook, sync just stops working and needs to be set up again! Although my account is still there ?
I have windows 7 on both computers and I use the paid version of Roboform (which does not encounter any problems!) So, I really need my sync to work and keep working. Please help......

Do you mean that after closing the browser your Sync set up is gone and you need to Set it up again?
This is, generally, because your privacy settings are too restrictive and you are deleting the password of your Sync account.
You can modify this in the Privacy tab of your Preferences/Options window. Select Remember History or Use Custom Settings in the drop down to configure the level that you want.

  • Desktop Manager - contacts sync from Entourage but...

Desktop Manager - contacts sync from Entourage but when I add a new contact, it won't sync the other way.  I have all teh Sync options set in Entourage as per the instructions.
    what am I doing wrong?

I have the same problem with getting new calendar appointments from my 8530 Curve into Entourage (on Mac OS x v. 10.6.3). They go into iCal. I have Entourage sync preferences set to sync with iCal, and I have Desktop Manager advanced sync options set for events created on the device to go to Entourage - but they don't. I have "merge data" and two-way syncing set.   It works fine syncing from Entourage to my BB.
How can I get data added on my BB to go directly into Entourage?
    Thanks.

  • BB 8330 Curve will not sync with Desktop Manager (Media Portion)

The BB Desktop Manager software will not let me use the Media portion of the software.  I have enabled the media card option on my BB and I have also enabled "Mass Storage" on my phone.  Why can't I get my BB to sync with the software?

    Hi ripkin1981,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
What version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager are you using? What happens when you try to sync media? Do you receive an error message?

  • Tour 9630 won't work with Desktop Manager/Media Manager

Just got this BB from Verizon, everything works fine but when I plug it into my PC the Desktop Manager software is a mess.  I'm running Win XP.  I've double checked all the USB connections, uninstalled and reinstalled the the BB software and taken the BB battery out and put it back, so it's none of those things.  I brought the BB back to Verizon they said "it's working fine, must be a driver or something, duh".
When I plug in the BB and bring up Desktop Manager sometimes the BB is recognized sometimes not.  When I try to use the Roxio Media Manager it comes halfway up but the hourglass cursor never goes away and it just sits there thinking for hours.  Sometimes I get a pop up saying " First Time Configuration...., it won't let hit any of the choices, I just have the hourglass thinking.  I always have to hit Ctl, Alt, Del and call up my task manager to quite the program because the hourglass never turns back into the cursor.   I just want to manage my media.  This is very frustrating.

HI - I have the exact same problem as this post. Yes- i've uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop manager software- I plug in my BB tour 9630 and I get would you like MSP- I click yes and get nothing in the managerManger. No options. If I click NO the only thing I can do is back updata- No media downloads.
It was working fine until last Sunda and I've changed nothing on my laptop. The USG port works perfect and the cable is new.

    Hi there!
FYI -- you've posted this to the 9500 Storm forum...not usually the place for assistance with a Curve. But, don't double-post, we will have this moved momentarily to the correct place:

  • Media Sync Doesn't Work for Mac

"Whether it's a specific iTunes® playlist or a random mix of tunes, it's easy to sync the music from your Mac computer to your BlackBerry smartphone."
That's how Blackberry describes Media Sync. Unfortunately, it doesn't see any of my iTunes playlists and always gives me the error "Exceeded Memory Limit" regardless of the free space available.
My Mac OS is 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard) and I have the latest version of BB Desktop Manager which has Media Sync integrated.  I've seen this complaint on virtually every BB forum - has anyone managed to make it work?
I really think that this is a serious misrepresentation of the software's capabilities and I shouldn't have to resort to third-party apps after what I'm paying for the phone and the service contract.

    Hey ARM77,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
There is a few things I will suggest to hopefully fix this issue for you.
    1. Is mass storage mode currently enabled when you hook your BlackBerry to the Mac?  If not please read KB13564.
    2. Is your iTunes updated to the very latest version?
    3. Verify that your media card has a sufficient amount of memory available for the playlists. To check this, perform the following:
In BlackBerry® Desktop Manager, click Device Options. On the Media tab, decrease the amount of memory that is kept free for files other than your music files.
    than your music files.

  • BB 8330 Media Manager, Media Sync hanging - not connecting...

(I just know this is treated in depth somewhere but after a couple of hours of searching, I can't find it so appologies in advance...)
I have a BB 8330 from Verizon running v4.5.0.77 - no media card.
    Using Device Manager, the:
    Driver version is: 4.1.0.4
Driver Node Strong Name is: oem25.inf:RIM:RimUsb.Device.NT:4.1.0.4:usb\vid_0fca&pid_8004&mi_00
Windows thinks the driver is up to date.
    I am running  Desktop Manager v4.7.0.32[Nov 4 2008]
When I launch DM, I can successfully Back up my BB.
On my Vista PC - When I attempt to launch  Media Manager 9, it has found the files in the Library but it goes into a wierd loop where it keeps seeing the F: drive and then removes it and then resets and then sees it again - forever (or at least for the day that I left it in that loop)
I loaded the DM on another PC running XP and observe a similar behavior - it's not quite as zippy so it just looks more like a hang
To try something different, I downloaded Media Sync v2.0.0.22 and, when the BB is connected, I get the error: "BlackBerry Media Sync failed to connect to your BlackBerry device. Click Retry to try again or Cancel to disconnect." - I get the same error with and without the DM running.
Something seems sort of hinky in that, while my BB is plugged in on my Vista system, occassionall I get the lights flashing on my keyboard like someting is resetting the USB every few minutes (unrelated Vista crap?).
    Please help...

You are going to want to get a media card if planning to add music-ringtones-pictures-videos.  Don't want to use up device memory.  It'll go fast.

  • Error message in desktop Manager: Media

I have downloaded Desktop Mgr, and when I try to access Media, I get this error message :
image File "file": C/program files (x86) common files\roxio shared\9.0\common resources/\shared\generic\images\about_RIM_Background.PNG" cannot be loaded
Can anyone help me figure out what this is & how do I fix it????
    Thanks

    Hi jrh1219,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Do you have other Roxio or Sonic software installed on your PC? If so, its possible there is a conflict between these and the Roxio Media Manager. Which version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager do you have installed? Are you able to open Media Manager from C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio\Media Manager 9 by clicking on MediaManager9.exe. If so, try opening Media Manager from the Desktop Manager after doing so. If this does not resolve the issue, try clean uninstalling the Desktop Manager as shown here. http://bbry.lv/acVRkU then reinstalling. You may also want to upgrade to the most recent version of the Desktop Software.

  • Desktop Manager / Media Manager Kills Email

Hi I am having a repeat problem with my Blackberry Curve, which receives email through a BES.
It seems that whenever I open my Desktop Manager, and then use the Media Manager to transfer pictures off the device, once I am finished and close up the programs,my blackberry stops receiving email to the device for several hours.
Ive gone back in and checked to make sure the Redirector Settings are still correct (I never leave the Desktop Manager open on my desktop and rarely use it at all, only once ever few weeks to xfer pics) and they always are, but I just cant receive any email again for hours.
Any ideas?  Thanks for your time.

after you have removed the plug, do you keep the Media application opened ?
In that case, the Blackberry needs time to index all the new media files you've fed it with. It can take a long time, but it's just once per file.

  • Desktop Manager Keeps Closing!!! Help please.

Hi. I recently re-built my PC, as I wished to upgrade to Vista Ultimate 64-bit.
Desktop manager worked perfectly before i did this.
My problem is that now when i install the software from the disc, I try to open the program and it just flashes up on screen for a split second, then dissapears. It is like the program loads then closes instantly!
Does anyone have any ideas what could be the cause of this?
    Thanks in advance

  • Desktop Manager - Media Manager - Crash

Desktop Manager seems to work fine. When I access Media Manager the app crashes.
    Desktop Mgr 5.0.0.11
    Windows7 x86
    whats the fix/workaround?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Windows7? I don't think that DTM and MM are yet certified for that platform... So, there are no official RIM KB's on the matter just yet. I seem to recall other posts here somewhere that talked about some sort of compatibility mode in Win7? Not having it myself, I've no idea...but you might try some searches in these forums to see if it's been discussed (I think it has).
    Good luck!
