Desktop Manager v6 cannot installed on XP

Hello,
I tried to install DM v6_b047 on my windows XP SP3. It asked to download "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1". So I did what it required but it couldn't continue and said "cannot find".
I did again with FW, Anti-virus shut down, NOK.
What's the problem? Which DM version should I use to sync with Curve 8520 ? I need your help!
Thanks.

Hi fat100,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Were you able to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 sp1 successfully?
Can you clarify what you mean when you say it could not find? Do you receive this message during the Desktop Software installation? You can verify here if all system requirements for Desktop Software 6.0 have been met. http://bbry.lv/dzsiJB

  • Desktop Manager won't install on Mac

Would think I'm just missing something obvious but I give up.
    I have administrative privileges.
Download the dmg package from BB's website without problem and opens fine. (yes, it's the Mac version, not the PC version)
Click on "Install BlackBerry Desktop software.app" and get the usual warning pop-up that it is "…an application downloaded form the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?"
I click on "Open" and NOTHING happens (other than this pop-up window goes away).
I've closed all other programs when installing and made sure there isn't another pop-up window (hidden behind the active windows) waiting for my to respond.
I've checked the Applications folder for ANY new listings (even if it's not called something obvious like BlackBerrry Desktop Manager) and don't find anything installed/changed.
The Mac is using the Terminal program to open this Unix-exec file.
If I click on the "Uninstall BlackBerry Desktop software.app", it responds by saying it cannot find the program installed. (That tells me both that the installation package isn't entirely corrupt but that the program never actually installed)
    Using Mac OS 10.6.7.
There is no antivirus/antimalware program running during installation.
Anybody have any idea what I'm missing for what should be a simple process?

After I have restart the next, the DM installer start to work. Maybe give it a try on restart computer?

  • Desktop manager will not install after fresh download

i have downloaded ver 5 desktop manager several times and it is not able to install.  I have completely un-uninstalled the previous software and deleted the regristry keys, RIM.
After downloading the new version of software (5.01) off of the BB website and extracting the files, it will ask to install in english and then my issue pops up:  a windows installer window pops up, with information and no errors.  then the installer closes.  the installer closes out and will not continue.
the desktop manager software will not load and i have tried several different downloads, cleaned installs and i even tried ver 4.6.
    ideas?

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to see if it helps out. Can read up on that and other things to try when Windows Installer gives errors from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175

Hello folks. Small biz customer with previously installed 4.x. We
recently upgraded to 6.5 and all went well. Now when trying to

correct version of Zen is installed or perhaps not logged in with

Definitely both logged in as admin and Zen is up and running.

Hi and welcome to the community...and apoligies for the delayed reply.
Sorry, but the KB linked above is very explicit in the remedies it recommends...from what you've posted here, it sounds as if you have not read and attempted what is in that KB? Please confirm.
    aelkholy wrote:
Is there an older version of the application that works?
Concerning that...well, the current version works, but not 100% (like most things with computers, perfection can never be attained). So, there are older versions...but no one cay say if, in your specific circumstance, those will work either. In any event, I would suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Good luck!

  • Cant install desktop manager

I just bought a brand new high end laptop and desktop manager will not install on it.
To start I received a warning that the desktop manager i was downloading from blackberry's site was "unsafe".
After telling it to download anyway i cannot run the file.  It pops up a message about the data1.cab being damaged or incomplete.  So i converted it to a zip file, extracted and tried installing that way.  Again it said the data1.cab was incomplete.  I had an older version (5.0) on a different laptop that i transferred over and tried to install.  It again displayed the same error message.
Does anyone have any ideas on what may be the issue?
    Thanks

    Hello Shandower,
You may want to try downloading another copy of the software from the following location:
    BlackBerry Desktop Software
I would save the software and run it from its location for the installation process.
    Cheers,

  • Desktop manager does not allow to install 5.0 Firmware

    Hi all,
i got following problem. I try to upgrade several 9000 and 8900 to FW-Versions 5.0.0.190 or higher.
The Desktop-Manager recognizes the installed Firmwares and shows them BUT marks them with an asterisk.
    Then it states
"only users with an activ subscription the the Blackberry-Service are allowed to install this BB Device Software."
Can anybody help me with that problem ?
By the way: it worked once or twice , but now, on any PC i install the Desktop Manager and the Firmware Files this error occurs.
    Greetings from Munich, germany,
    Markus

The device you are upgrading must have an active connection to a BlackBerry Data Plan.
You will see this message if you do not have a data plan on their BlackBerry and they try to use Desktop Manager 5.0 to upgrade to BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 or greater.  Sometimes you will see this error if the user has never turned on the mobile network on their device so that might be all that is needed to work around this.
This is a new requirement of RIM for devices upgrading to OS 5

  • The CC desktop manager is not in sync with the installed apps

The Adobe CC Desktop Manager only lists Muse and Acrobat as installed apps, failing to list DW, Photoshop, Illustrator InDesign and all sorts of others.
How can I re-sync the desktop manager with the installed apps?
    OSX 10.10.1
    david

I'm having the opposite problem.  All those listed in the screen shot as "Install" have been installed.
Deleting OPM.db and downloading and installing CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg did not fix the issue.
Do I really need to delete all of my installed apps and starting from scratch?
    david
Apps are listed as "Install" when they've already been installed

  • Unreadable Desktop Manager software

Recently downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager and cannot get the software to properly display...all the letters are just squares!  have checked language both computer and software were set to US English.  Am using an Acer Aspire 5810T.  Had the earlier version of Desktop Manager working just fine.
Appreciate any suggestions from people who might have encountered and resolved a similar problem.

    Hey lfassam,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear about the issue.  This issue is caused by installing BlackBerry Desktop Software in a different language or that the previous versions are not completely removed.
    Perform the following:
    1. Perform a clean uninstall of the BlackBerry Desktop Software by following ALLthe steps in this KB article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206
    2. Restart the computer and go to www.blackberry.com/desktop and choose PC and select English.  Make sure you save the file.
    3.  Run the install and restart the computer and then try to access BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Let me know if you run into any trouble.

  • Blackberry Desktop Manager wont start

    I am SOOOO frustrated.
I have installed the BB Desktop Manager software (never installed or used it before) and it has downloaded fine but it just wont open!! No errors, just nothing. Am getting really frustrated.
    Any ideas?

I am not sure I understand - are these instructions you have seen/been given?
What is the context for your post? I have an issue with DM 6.02 and Windows 7 which is that DM just won't start, the only workaround I have found is to downgrade to 5.0.1 which is not ideal but does seem to work. It worked fine on XP but when I switched to Windows 7 it installed fine but then would not start up.

  • Desktop software does not install

it wants to install on a G drive - does not give me choice to install on the C drive. what service is running that I need to stop?

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
Are you trying to install from the CD that came with the device? That really is a PC problem.
I would recommend downloading the Desktop Manager file and installing from the download.
    Get DM version 4.7
    Download Desktop Manager from here:
