Desktop Manger not synching calendar

I have a blackberry 8130 peral and I have just upgraded to a new computer and it comes with Microsoft Outlook 2007 and I cannot get my blackberry to bring the calendar in.  It has brought my task list in as well as my address book from Outlook.  The previous version of Outlook that I was using was 2000 and I was using DM 4.2 Service Pack 2.  The disk that came with the blackberry does nothing but bring in the tasks and address along with all the other ones.  Is there something that I am missing when I am installing this.  This is very critical as I work for a law firm and this is basically our life line.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Just so I have some background:
Please specify the following:
PC, operating system (if vista 32 or 64)
Version of Desktop software currently installed.
DId you have any problems with the installation, or
the synchronization options in the setup wizard?
You should see Outlook, and have the option
for sync calendar, contacts, notes and tasks.
Let me know,
Thanks

  • Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista  PC

Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista PC. I have calendar and notes entries in my Outlook calendar, but they do not synch with my Ipod touch. They used to work fine, but stopped around 2 weeks ago. I connect my ipod to i tunes, but the "info" area of itunes is not allowing me to tick the boxes to synch calendar, outlook, or notes.

    Hello Welcome To Apple Discussions
plug in your ipod and select the info tab and look for calender sync (something similar to that) and click the program your using for your calender.
    try that
    Thank You

  • ITunes could not synch calendars to iPhone because the iPhone disconnected

Started getting an error message during iPhone synch about two weeks ago: "iTunes could not synch calendars to iPhone because the iPhone disconnected"
    - Am synching to my Outlook calendar on a system running Windows 7
    - Everything else (contacts, podcasts, audiobooks, etc.) synchs just fine
    - Tried totally resetting the iPhone and restoring the firmware
    - Tried deleting the backups, preferences and resetting synch history
    - Tried forcing a rewrite/replacement of the calendar database using iTunes
Nothing sems to work...still get the same message about not synching the calendar due to the iPhone disconnecting, but of course, it really hasn't disconnected since I can get it to immediately synch anything else.
    Any ideas out there? Thanks...

Thanks midwestcraft. I had this problem and your answer solved it for me.
Thought this further info may be of use to some who wants more historic dates in their calendar.
I had "do not sync events older than" unchecked and the input field set to "0". When I changed it to 180, it worked perfectly. I've found that I can increase this number to "545" - anything higher causes the error. This seems to coincide with some strange multiple-entry events in my calendar.
Don't know if this will be a clue for somebody to fix the issue.

  • Desktop Manger Not sycing organizer or any data

I have Windows Vist Home 64 bit OS system and I have used the Desktop Manger 4.7, 5.0.1 and 6.0 and all the same results.
My computer recognizes my device (Curve 8320), so does the Desktop manger as it asks me for my password. Once I type the password in it will not syc or do anything.
On the 4.7 the Desktop Manger screen it grays out and nothing ever comes up. If I go into the sycronizing area first before I connect my BB then it actually allows me to hit the sycing button to syc, but then sits there with the processing screen up and the bar never moves.
On Desktop 6.0 it just sits there saying connecting , after it recognizes my 8320 and nothing else, it never allows me to choose any options, its like it freezes.
I have uninstalled the program through program manger in my control panel, rebooted, reinstalled it and still same things.
It all started one day when I was sycing, I heard a windows error sound but no error ever came up on my screen and then I was unable to sync again.
PLEASE help!!! My Curve is my life, I have all my important dates nad addresses I edit and update on there and now no way to syc it to my Outlook 2007 or backup my device.

Hello nshveima and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Here is something I would recommend you try:
    1) Connect your BlackBerry to your Computer
    2) Launch your BlackBerry Desktop Manager
    3) Remove the battery from your BlackBerry (keeping it connected to the PC)
    4) Re-insert your battery and wait for the device to power back on
    Does the Desktop Manager connect?
Are you able to Back up?
    Are you able to sync?
Let me know how you make out.
    Thanks!

  • Desktop will not display Calendar or Contacts

I got a new Centro, installed the Palm software as instructed and performed a HotSync when instructed. Initially the Desktop showed all my contacts and calendar but would not let me edit my contacts only add new ones. After shutting down the computer and restarting it the Desktop no longer displays icons for the calendar or contacts. I performed another HotSync which was successful but still could not access the calendar or contacts via the Desktop.
I unisntalled the Palm software and drivers and reinstalled everything from scratch with the same result. I uninstalled everthing again and downloaded everything from the Palm web site and reinstalled everything again with the same results.
My Centro still has all my contacts and calendar info. Any idea how I can resolve this problem to manage them from the Desktop?

Have Palm engineers solved this?  My version of the story:  Vista Home Premium: Palm Access 6.2.2 Desktop running happily.  Then after a hibernation, I open Palm Desktop and get only Media.  No amount of uninstall/Reinstall changes this result. Even using Revco uninstall.  So, how can I regainDesktop and sync to it?

  • Outlook 2003 not synching calendar

Everytime I try to synch my calendar I get the following message:-
OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I have read the other posts, and I've re-installed iTunes, and checked that the iTunes Outlook Addin is checked, but to no avail.
I tried reverting back to iTunes 7.5 but that didn't work either, so I went back to the latest release.
I've also tried resetting the sync history, which also hasn't worked?
Does anyone think Apple will fix this anytime soon? I use the iPhone as a PIM, and right now its useless in that regard. I'm synchronizing only my calendar (work PC - Microsoft exchange). Everything else is synch'd using my mac at home.
Seemed to work fine before the recent 7.6.1 upgrade.

Ok. I eventually worked out how this exchange server thing works, but it's still not fixed my issues.
I understand now, that an OST file exists on my local machine, and that periodically gets synchronized with the exchange server.
I have run the SCANOST tool on my machine, and let it do everything, not just my calendar.
So I should now have a functional local OST file. I have no PST files. i.e. I don't have any local archives etc. and iTunes only has "Sync Calendars with : Outlook", there are no multiple calendars to chose from... so its All Calendars only.
So I try to synchronize my iPhone, and it still crashes with the "OutlookSyncClient has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I really am stumped now. I can't see how I can get this to work. One might say... I have a syncing feeling. (except its not syncing...)
Come on Apple... This used to work.

  • Itunes not synching calendar and address book to ipod

Hiya, has anyone come across this?
I plug in my ipod to firewire as normnal, Itunes pops up as normal, it updates the music etc. But it refuses to update my contacts and calendar. The boxes in the preferences are NOT ticked, and when I try to tick (update all contacts etc), it comes up with a window "there is no calendar / address book...." and when i press "open...for me" the address book / calendar opens, but doesn't do anything else.
I have already trashed the plists of itunes and the actual application and downloaded a fresh version of itunes. Still the same. the update ot OSX 10.4.4 did not solve this either

USB makes no difference. It's in the window iPod preferences of Itunes: I tab to the box "Contacts" and "Calendars" is. And each in turn is UNticked! On trying to tick it, a window pops up "no contacts available" (and "no calendars..." on the other).
and it continues".... contact synching cannot be enabled.... do you want to open address book and create contacts now..."
on clicking "open address book" it opens with all my contacts in it as before but does not link! (same with iCal).
That's something I had no probs with before. Seems to be an internal "link" somewhere that's not recognising my existing calendar/address book.

  • ICloud will not synch Calendar from iPhone to iMac

I have a new iMac and an iPhone 4. iCloud works when synching my iMac to my iPhone, however it won't synch new calendar entries on my iPhone to my iMac. How can I fix this problem?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check the calendar you are entering events into is an iCloud calendar, only iCloud calendars will sync.
If you are sure you are using the correct calendar try turning off calendar syncing (settings > iCloud) restarting the phone and enabling syncing again.

  • Trouble synching Calendar on i-Pad

I have found some appointments were missing from my i-Pad calendar.  I therfore tried to re-synch it through i-tunes and got the following message.
"iTunes could not synch calendars to the iPad "(its name)" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers"
This is followed by advice to try to re-synch (failed) or to replace the calendars on the IPad from the info tab in the iPad preferences.
My problem is that I cannot find the info tab so cannot replace them!
I am on an I-Pad 1 and am synching to my entourage calender on a Mac operating Snow leopard
    Any ideas greatfully received.

If it abends when you try to view March then try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day (if you don't sync your calendar from anywhere then try going into list view, go to 1st April and change any 'all day' events to times e.g. change Easter Monday to start at something like 4am) - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving on the day before.

  • Trouble synching calendars to iPhone5

Hi, I have a new iPhone 5. Recently, each time I charge/sync the phone to iTunes on my iMac, I have received this error message: "iTunes could not synch calendars to the iPhone because the s sync server failed to sync the iPhone." Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    give this a try:
select one of the problem files in iTunes and, from the advanced menu, select +create iPad or Apple TV version+.
try syncing the newly created file.

  • Blackberry calendar not synching with Outlook

    Hi guys,
We did 2 upgrades and now some black calendar are not synching naymore with outlook.
    Here's our setting
We had Blackberry Enterprise server professionnal 4.0.17 or something like that we upgraded to Blackberry server Express 5.0.3 MR 1 (Bundle 19) for Exchange server
we had Microsoft Exchange 2003 and we upgraded to 2010
Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Version 14.1.218.15 with service pack installed Update Rollup 5 SP1 and Update Rollup 4-V2 SP1
The issue is with some Blackberry device when you add something to the Black Calendar it's not showing up into Outlook calendar.
I tried to removed every cical ligne into the services book and resend the service book from the blackberry server, had no luck
    I tried these steps :
On the BlackBerry smartphone, open the Calendar application.
Click the Menu button and click Options.
Set the Wireless Synchronization option to No.
Click the Menu button and click Save.
Set the Wireless Synchronization option to Yes.
Click the Menu button and click Save. Turning wireless calendar synchronization on and off will reset the calendar database on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Create a calendar entry in Microsoft Outlook and verify that the entry wirelessly synchronizes to the BlackBerry smartphone.
    no luck too..
I don't know where to look at now have you any hint or clues

    Hello guys,
here's some new information I tried / double checked...
I make sure that Options > Advanced Options > Default Service > is set to Desktop no facebook or something else configured on the device
    I'm thinking of doing this.
we can try a forced reload. Before proceeding you need to be
aware that these steps will erase the device calendar and load a fresh copy from the server. On the device open the Calendar > press menu > Select Options >
Type RSET (nothing will appear as you type) > Then when prompted select Yes to erase the device Calendar and load a fresh copy from the server.
this would really be my last option because our employees that are having the synch issue had added some important stuff into their calendar related to their job and this information is only available on the blackberry calendar...
thanks for any advice you have about this issue.

  • Sent email from my iPhone not synching with my desktop Mac

I am stumped. When I send email from my iPhone (using my POP account) the email is sent, shows up in my iPhone sent folder but does not show up in the sent folder in the Mail application on my desktop plus the little icon showing that I responded is not there. I guess it is not synching. This is a problem because I often don't recall if I responded to an email from my iPhone and I end up responding again to the email when I see it on my Mac desktop. My synch is working great with contacts and calendars, both push and fetch. I am also receiving emails, push and fetch, just fine. Can anyone offer advice or insight? Thanks!

I am having the same problem. When I send from my iPhone (old version), the messages are not shown in my send folder on my desktop Mac. They are showing up in MobileMe, however. I have checked settings on my Mac and on the phone and still can't figure out what has happened. This all started with the new syncing system.

  • Bridge Calendar not synching with device - missing entries

Since the upgrade to OS 2 I have noticed that the calendar does not synch properly.  There are entries on the device (and outlook) that don't appear at all in the bridge calendar.  What is more strange is that sometimes some of them  do...but when the page refreshes (say from waking from sleep) they have disappeared again!
I have updated bridge on both the device (Bold 9780) and the playbook, but no difference.
All the various calendar entries (desktop, gmail etc.) are properly checked off in the device bridge options list.
Starting this as a new thread as I see a number of others have raised the same question some time ago but without resolution...so here's hoping!
Seriously, any help would be much appreciated.  It's a pain not being able to rely 100% that the info in the playbook calendar is correct.

    Hi Aandras.
I do have multiple calendars, but turning them off and just having the desktop doesn't seem to help.
I did download the bridge update.
Funny thing is that events appear in different views.  For example I have an all day event for Friday that appears in the daily view but not the weekly.  Also, the event seems to be there but invisible.  I had an event from 1500 to 1800 on Thursday, visible on my BB but not on the PB.  I then created a new appointment at 1700 on the PB.  The PB reports a conflict with a previous appointment...which is not visible!
Let me see what happens next week!
