Desktop Mgr: Music services failed to load.

Hello, I've tried to reinstall the desktop manager, formatted the 16GB Media Card, in the Memory section of the Options (Compression - Disabled, Media Card Support - On, Media Transfer Protocol - On, Mass Storage Mode - On, Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connnected - Yes).
I can sync Pictures, Videos, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks.  However, when I select Music from Media Sync I get "Music Services Failed to Load "An unexpected error occurred."

Also I'm running iTunes 10.4.1.10.

  • Desktop Mgr 6 - "Music services failed to load"

    I've got a T-Mobile Curve 8520.
This afternoon I uninstalled Desktop Mgr 5.0.1 and Office 2007 (with Outlook). I then installed Office 2010 (with Outlook), and finally installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0.0.
Almost everything works, but when I try to go to the Music page in the new Desktop Manager I see this:
    Music services failed to load
    An unexpected error occurred.
I've confirmed that the media card is enabled to act as a Mass Storage Device. I've rebooted the laptop, and shut down and restarted the 8520. I've closed and opened and closed Outlook and Windows Media Player. Desktop Manager is configured to use WMP, not iTunes.
Does anybody have any ideas as to how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Steve
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks, I didn't even think of looking there. (Sure feel dumb now! )
An error I see in the log states "INNER EXCEPTION: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException -- MESSAGE: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values". The parameter involved relates to a path. It occurred to me that the problem may be due to my music library being stored on a NAS and not the local hard drive, so I removed that library and only used a music library on my D: drive (same physical drive as C: ), but the problem remained.
If I set the Desktop Manager software to use iTunes the music pane loads without problem.
I've attached the log to this post. Thanks for your help.

I found the answer, here in the forum from a user:
Here is the solution that worked for me, based on antoniovtorres post (I resisted the urge to get PO'd and tried to figure out what he must have done):
With desktop manager closed, using Blackberry user tools, navigate to 'Blackberry\system\' (make sure that hidden files are shown or you won't see the 'system' folder).
Move or delete the folders 'Media Sync' and 'media' from the system directory.
    Re-open desktop manager.
Click yes to any dialog that appears.
You should now be able to sync music again.
Note that your device may want to double up on your synced pictures and videos, so you may want to delete your pictures and videos off of the device before your next picture or video sync. Hope it works for y'all.
    Scott
    It works again!
    Yeah!
    BlackBerry rocks!

  • Music services failed to load unexpected error in media sync

    Hi,
I am having issues in last 24 hours with Media Sync on desktop manager specifically with music sync'ing. Had my 9800 since July and been using Blackberry since 2004 and I havent come across this problem in the past.
I have googled the issue and look on other forums for fixes but nothing has worked thus far. Blackberry's help site on the topic isnt much help and I have done everything from uninstalling Wi-Fi sync and re-installing, deleting the media sync music files off the phone and uninstallled and re-installed Desktop manager. Also deleted files from Itunes etc.
Irony is that my playbook music backs up and I can sync but not my Torch! But then my Playbook cant back apps up. Again it backed up before when I got it for Xmas but in last week I have managed to get it to back up once after numerious attempts during a selective back up.
Is this an issue with current version of Desktop Software or something else?
    Crackberry user since 2004

hi there , just got a 2.0 version and have not been able to sync music as well, i can do pics , print to go files asn such but no  music, any sugestions

  • Picture services failed to load - An unexpected error occurred

Just uninstalled Desktop 5.0 and installed Desktop 6.0.
Everything else seems to be working fine.  It's just that when I try to access "Media Sync-->Pictures". I get the following message:
"Picture services failed to load  - An unexpected error occurred"
I especially need to access my pics b/c my media card is out of room.(perhaps itself a clue?)
    I have a Curve 8350i  from Nextel/Sprint
I would happily post the "log" entry, but I don't know how to find it and/or turn logging on.
    Please help.

This is a portion of the Desktop Log.   It is strange because the Blackberry Desktop Software 6.0 works fine on my laptop but not on my desktop computer....

  • Cannot log into CMS and all services fail to load on installation.

A trial version of Crystal Server XI r2 was installed due to problems with the license key for our purchased version of XI.  The r2 has since expired and I have uninstalled it.  I have now tried to install XI several times, but I am having a problem with the installation where it is Starting Services.  I get errors for each server Error 1920 Service Destination and server failed to start.  Please can you advise why this is occurring and what I can do to fix it?
I keep getting the log in for the CMS, but no matter what I enter it fails.  Possibly I have selected something wrong in the installation.  I do not believe we had to log into the CMS previously.
    It comes up with
System: CrystalReports (no other options) User Name: Administrator
    Password:
Authentication:  Enterprise (other options LDAP, Windows NT, Windows AD - all these come up with error that there is no plug-in).  I have entered the server password which failed, tried it blank which failed.  I do not know what is required here.
I have tried all our passwords, but no users or passwords work.  I have tried selecting different options, but have mostly tried New with the Create new or use existing, java and iis both selected as default, SQL Server and entered sa + password,
I think probably an old version of the CMS exists from the original installation, but I have tried complete uninstall.

  • Why do search results in the iTunes store and the preview music window fail to load properly?

Since I updated to the second update to iTunes 11, I've had problems with searching in the iTunes store and viewing the previewed music window. It had worked fine in the first iTunes 11 update from iTunes 10 but it has not worked properly since the second update. I've also tried resetting the iTunes store cache but to no avail.
    Screenshots here:
http://puu.sh/1E5yO - Search results in iTunes Store

    See Apple Discussion link
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2332677?start=0&tstart=0
Essentially run iTunes as Administrater once and it should solve the problem going forward.
Go to /Program Files/iTunes and right click iTunes.exe and select run as admin
No need to do it every time, just once and than desktop shortcut icon will open iTunes with solved Store search display problem.

  • Desktop Mgr 4.6 fails to see internet

I just got a Blackberry 8330 and I installed  version 4.6 of the Desktop Manager for synching.  Even though I have tunneled a hole through the firewall for it, it says it can't find an internet connection and requires one for the first connection.  I tried turning off my antivirus and fireawlls and it still can't find the internet.  Obviously, I've got internet because here I am so what the heck?  I've on DSL always on connection at 12 mbps using Panda AV and Firewall on a Vista machine.  Thanks for any help

  • Played music counting failed

While connecting iphone to itunes, every counting of the music played shows zero. Both reinstalling itunes and recovering the ios can not solve the problem

Since I have a Torch 9800 I started to look under BlackBerry® Torch Smartphone for “Music Services” and found this thread which did not solve the issue. (KB27155  asks to remove the non media files from the playlists for PC users… no examples !!! of what kind of files to check for, e.g . the following files are OK to have present with the .mp3 files: .txt, .jpg, .ini, .db, .wma. Removing these files did not help at all).
I then searched under  BlackBerry® Desktop Software and found this thread: Desktop Mgr 6 - "Music services failed to load".
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Desktop-Mgr-6-quot-Music-services-fai...
I tried the solution from bbnewbie07 which was well explained but saved the Media Sync folder on my desktop (just in case).
I post this solution here because that where I looked first for this issue and there was no other hint in this thread. BTW, when DTM connects to a phone and does not find the Media Sync folder it creates a new one; so I could delete my saved folder after all from the desktop.
When I tried my phone with DTM on my laptop all worked fine so it looked liked the problem was with my PC's WMP library and playlists as suggested in KB27155. Not at all! Removing the Media Sync folder from my media disk did the trick.

  • Failed to load library 'dxva2.dll' appeared at Sky...

    Hi, everyone,
I encoutered the issue about failed to load library 'dxva2.dll' again.
My os is Windows XP SP3 Professional.
After I installed Skype 7.5.73.102 and then it started first time automatically.
The error message appeared such as Failed to load library 'dxva2.dll' again.
    What's wrong with Skype 7.5.73.10X?
How could I solve the issue which appear again?
    Best regards,

Your Windows XP is more than likely missing mandatory Windows updates that are needed in the latest version of Skype.  To resolve the problem, you can get those updates here:

Hi thanks for the reply, i've fixed fot the half of the groups' errors, for the others it gives me that the group X doesn't exist. This the output:
    # groupmod --gid 102 polkitd
groupmod: group 'polkitd' does not exist
    # groupmod --gid 84 avahi
groupmod: group 'avahi' does not exist

groupmod: group 'colord' does not exist
    # groupmod --gid 133 rtkit

I had tried to re-install yesterday for example git and sddm packages but it didn't fix the issue.

Works here v0.1.34-1. What version are you running?
Does it occur at boot and/or manual start?
Have you checked colord's bug tracker? If there's not a report there it's probably worth reporting as even if you have a set-up issue, it shouldn't really core dump.

    Hi!
i'm using systemd, and i removed initscripts and sysvinit.

By the way, i can systemctl restart it, and then it will be active and running. So, where is the problem?  I found this, that seems to be my same problem, but it is 2 years old! https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=632714 .
    Any idea?
