Desktop Moving With My Mouse Movements!

This is a weird one for me, as I've never seen it before.
I booted up my Mac Mini this afternoon, and when I moved my mouse, my desktop moved with it! Kind of hard to describe, but whichever way I move the mouse then the whole desktop image moves with it, regardless of what I am doing.
I have tried the Command Option P & R startup and looked in the system preferences, but I'm so far admitting defeat on this one!
Any ideas?

Hi Samsong-
You have zoom enabled on the mouse.
If you hold the control key while scrolling up or down is one way zoom becomes enabled and the mouse will do that. Try holding the control key down and scroll all the way out.
Zoom can be configured in the mouse preferences.

If you are using the imported cube as a symbol, and give it
an instance name, you should be able to add a few lines of code to
move it with the mouse. But it doesn't sound as though this is what
you want. You want to control the full rotation. Maybe you need to
use your imported swf as a template for redrawing the cube in
Illustrator/Flash.

I can close the laptop down via the power key, and can use some short cut keys, but the track pad operation is iffy, can you suggest how I rectify this.
I have now solved this, for future reference, I have a magic track pad as well and that was connected via bluetooth and sitting else where in the house. It blocked the laptops trackpad operations. When disconnected, my laptop track pad works fine.

Drop Down Menu's Don't Close with Fast Mouse Movement

Hi, I am an extreme novice in Flash and I've built a drop down menu following a tutorial from YouTube - sadly this took me days! It functions BUT fast mouse movement away from the menu drop down seems to prevent the drop down menu from closing. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Second question - I know how to create text links but when I do this the text's position jumps down without me having told it to. So is there a way to apply a link to a button rather than the text in the button, and is it possible to also apply a link to a movie clip?

Desktop background is moving with my mouse

When I turned on my Mac this morning, I noticed that some of the fonts on my desktop were a little blurry and some appeared to be bold in bold. Also, when I move the mouse arrow to the right, the entire screen shifts left. When I move it left, it shifts right. Same when I move up (it goes down) or down (it moves up). By entire screen, I mean everything from the dock at bottom, to the tool bar with my clock up top. I don't know why this is happening. Last night, when I turned off my computer, everything was normal. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please help me. Thanks.

I think you accidentally hit CMDOption8, do it again, or open System Preferencess>Universal Access>Seeing & turn Zoom OFF.

Brush Problems with Illustrator CS4... the line does not draw with my mouse movement

When I use any other brush besides the Calligraphic Brushes from the "Artistic Ink" brush library, I press down with either my Wacom Tablet or mouse, and the line does not appear to draw. Then I release the button on the mouse or lift my pen tablet up, the lines appears. Sometimes, a little "dot dot dot" line appears when the brush stroke it going to appear. But most of the time, it's just nothing, and then the line appears after I've drawn it.
However, with the preselected brushed at the top, and the Calligraphic Artistic Brushes, the line appears as I am drawing it. This is what I want for the other brushes.
Is this normal?! I just recently upgraded to Windows 7, and reinstalled the Adobe Suite. I can't remember if Illustrator did this before I reinstalled it, but I'm not sure it did otherwise it would have annoyed me as much as it does now. Can anybody help me?

First time posting to a forum.
I'm having the same problem and followed the advice for changing the file name in the Illustrator CS# Settings folder.
This solved the problem of seeing predicted brush paths for very basic brushs, but I still can't get a preview path for any of the ink brushs.
I've seen video tutorials which demonstrate inking techniques and the ink brush predicted path was clearly working in those tutorials.
I'm assuming therefore that I should be able to see some type of preview when using the ink brushs.
Any advice would be great!

When I select a single object in a layer and try to move it with the mouse, everything goes with...

I've been having this problem where I can't use the move tool with the mouse properly. I'll go and select a single item on a layer and then try to move it with the mouse (move tool). I've done this before and still do it all the time on Photoshop on my other machines. However, on my laptop it won't work. I grab the single object I want to move and the second I move it, it defaults to moving every single layer in my file. The only way to get around it is to use the arrows, but that's becoming laborious and frustrating.
Any ideas?

I know what you mean! This happened to me as well!
And one thing that I found useful is, if you want to directly select a layer without selecting from the layers pallete and without having autoselect enabled, just hold Ctrl and click on in directly in the image. This saved me a lot of time!

KDE Desktop Cube with mouse

Is there any way to activate the desktop cube with the mouse left, right or middle click or any combination of a mouse click and keyboard keys like it does in Compiz? The custom shortcut apparently only allows keyboard keys.
Oh, and while I'm at it, is there a way to make the desktop cube switch animation use the same background that you set on the "Desktop Cube" options on the desktop effect options? It only shows a black background when you switch virtual desktops with the cube animation.

That does set a background to the desktop cube. However, it doesn't set any background when I switch virtual desktops with the Pager, or the desktop switch shortcut (Ctrl +F1, Ctrl + F2, etc), the background is black.

Mouse movements cause F10, F11 and F12 automatically.

Unusual problem...
When i move my mouse in a particular way . e.g diagonally towards the spotlight ( top right corner) this has the same effect as pressing F11- i.e the windows shoot off towards the top of the screen and i ma left with my desktop. Infact other mouse movements can cause the same result as widgets appearing .
can anyone help? I have a macbook. Although i have Leopard this problem was still in Tiger.

Sounds like "hot corners"..
Try going to System preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen saver.
You will see a "Hot corners" button at the bottom where you can adjust what the mouse does as it hits the corner of the screen.
Before spaces I used this shortcut a lot to reveal the desktop:)

Problem with inability to move items around with mouse

I have a problem moving items with a mouse (wireless or wired), wacam pen/mouse, etc. It can be a file/folder on the desktop or a mail message in Entourage. I can click on the file on the desktop and try to move to the trash and nothing happens other than the icon is highlighted. If I try to move a mail message from my Inbox to another mailbox, I get an error message, "The action could not be completed. An unknown error (-4960) occurred." If I reboot, the problem goes away but will come back within a day or two.
Any suggestions as to the cause and solution?

I have experienced what you describe once and it was not good at all. I was unable to drag any folder or icon around and I could not write to the drive at all. The problem was a corrupt data structure file.
This may be something totally unrelated to what I experienced but it is worth checking out and make sure you back up your data right away. If you open disk utility (applications/utilities) and click on your drive does it say S.M.A.R.T. Verified. verified is ok, but if it says anything else the drive is likely about to die.
Again, if it is something totally unrelated, I'm sure someone else here will be able to help. If the problem you have occurs for all users make sure to back up your important data.

Is the Microsoft 5MH-00001 Wired Desktop 400 keyboard and mouse compatible with mac mini?

Hello, is the Microsoft 5MH-00001 Wired Desktop 400 for Business mouse and keyboard compatible with the mac mini computer? I tried using a generic mouse and the lights of the mouse were on, but I could not click or move the mouse around. Then when I plugged in a dell keyboard, it said the "keyboard is not identified". I could press buttons on the keyboard, but they werent being registered by the mac. I also tried changing my mouse's usb to a different port, but still did not work. So I am worried that the microsoft wired mouse + keyboard I ordered might not work on my mac mini. Is there a way to get my old keyboard and mouse to work at least?

Were these other ones you tried Wired also? If so that's really strange!?
Did you try rebooting with them connected?
I see no reason for the Microsoft 5MH-00001 Wired Desktop 400 for Business to not work, but then any wired Generic KB should work!???

When I am trying to surf to a website using my bookmark menu and
navigating with my mouse, I click Bookmarks, then a main menu item, and then a submenu item. While moving my mouse from the main menu item to the submenu item, if I happen to stray off the main menu item briefly before I get to the submenu item, Firefox picks the wrong submenu item. I ran a utility program recently to "speedup" Firefox on the internet, but I did not want to speed up the menu operation. Please help me get the menu delay back.
