Desktop Parallel Help

Hi , i already install windows 7 64bit in my macbook pro 13" using bootcamp , can i still use desktop parallel 5.0 in mac OSX ? Do i need to reinstall another windows through desktop parallel ?

Ok so let me understand this correctly. Last night i installed vista on my bootcamp partition. I want to buy parallel desktop for mac , the new version. So i don't need to reinstall vista on the virtual machine created by parallels?

Can't Uninstall Parallels Desktop, Need Help.

I have stopped using Parallels Desktop and decided to uninstall it using the provided uninstaller. This however didn't get rid of the Kernel service so I used the sudo commands they say to use. However this still did not get rid of the services that are running despite the fact I have done all I can to remove it. How can I get rid of this program as its really bugging me.

Yer I ran those sudo commands but I can't seem to get it to stop working. After a restart the console always has Parallels updates and the virtual networks keep remaking themselfs.

Lost all Playlists in MAC iTunes AFTER Upgrading Windows iTunes to v.10.7 (via Parallels) - HELP!

I HAVE iTUNES v 10.6x installed on my Macbook Pro - been using for quite awhile without issues. All Updates to iTunes have gone just fine. I also use Parallels Desktop with Windows XP Pro installed on it and within that Windows installation on this Mac, I have installed many software programs -- all okay for over 3 years - no real issues. I also have installed iTunes in the Windows, but never really used the Preferences of iTunes to use its Advanced settings to change the location of the Library to the same location of the Mac's iTunes -- the Library is on an external HD. The use of iTunes in Windows was never really used because I never had the right location of the Library set in Preferences.
About 5 days ago, while in Windows XP, I got an Apple Software Upgrade Notice that a new version of iTunes was available for download -- Version 10.7. Not thinking about it then, I told myself that when I finished upgrading inside Windows that I would exit Windows and while in Macbook Pro's OS X 10.5.8, i just knew there would be an Apple Software Update Notice to also update my Mac's iTunes to version 10.7 also. That's what I planned to do while still in Windows. While installing the update to version 10.7 within Windows, I thought I'd try to set the proper location for the Library file using iTunes' Preferences and Advance Tab. I finished the upgrade to 10.7, went into Preferences and Advanced Tab and did just that and set the correct location on the external harddisk then tried to play songs using my Windows XP's upgraded iTunes. IT WORKED JUST FINE.
I now exited from Windows and went back to straight Macbook Pro OS X 10.5.8 and tried to check for this upgrade for iTunes from 10.6x to 10.7 by going to the Apple Website and downloaded this from there. When I then attempted to install the downloaded 10.7 (to replace/update my 10.6x) it would not install because my OS X 10.5.8 is not useable for the new 10.7. Okay, I'd just use my tried and true version 10.6x. WRONG!!!!!
When I attempted to open my iTunes on the Mac, it would open, but all my normal screen views were gone -- NO PLAYLISTS WHATSOEVER. The Music folder (the Library?) was fine but all songs had the infamous "!" MARK next to each and every song -- not playable. So, remembering the Library location setting in Preferences was the way to "reset" iTunes so the Library would be recognized and useable, I went into Preferences and reset the Library to the proper and same location as it always had been (and, where I had just previously set the Windows' iTunes to). Now the "!" marks were gone and each song in the Music Folder played just fine. BUT, NO PLAYLISTS WHATSOEVER. ALL MY ORGANIZATION EFFORTS FOR YEARS WAS GONE!!!
My thoughts are that the Windows iTunes upgrade to 10.7 changed some key iTunes files common to both operating systems on the Macbook Pro, Parallels Desktop, and Windows XP installation -- some Windows iTunes program files are kept and store in the same default location as the Mac's and on the internal hard drive of the Mac.
Because, in further researching this problem, I found that the "iTUNES LIBRARY.itl" file located on the Mac's hard drive had, in fact, been changed by the Windows iTunes upgrade to 10.7!!!!!! THOSE CHANGES "CORRUPTED" THIS FILE TO USE IN THE MAC iTUNES PROGRAM AND THE PLAYLISTS ARE GONE. I also use this software in this effort: PARALLELS DESKTOP VER 7.X, FULLY UPDATED WINDOWS XP PRO, FULLY UPDATE AS MUCH AS APPLE HAS PROVIDED TO MY OS X 10.5.8 (I CAN'T UPGRADE TO LION), AND OF COURSE iTUNES 10.6x.
THEREFORE, WHAT EXACTLY SHOULD/COULD I DO TO GET THE PLAYLISTS BACK INTO MY MAC OS X 10.5.8 iTUNES? I DON'T CARE TO USE THE WINDOWS iTUNES ANYMORE -- I'LL JUST STAY WITH MY MAC'S. PLEASE HELP!!! THANK YOU.

Ok, now main problem is with Apps only.. problem is with msg. Iphone is sync with other library, do you want replace apps on this Iphone ??
I already took all my apps to the computer...
So... I need just sync Iphone with this new library and do not remove any app from Iphone...

Remote Desktop Connection Help?

I have a new Macbook Air and need help with an RDP connection to an exchange server at my work. I have tried MS RDP (both the current interface and the beta) and cannot connect. I don't seem to be able to find the set-up or application Apple Remote Desktop on my box I get the VPN working but no RDP. Please help and if possible provide tools and instructions. THink of me and new user, please. THis is important because I am working on my company to begin replacing the marketing and training department PCs with macs. HELP PLEASE

Well, I guess you could install Windows in Boot Camp. If you didn't want to be forced to reboot all the time, then Windows in Parallels of Fusion. Both will run Windows in full screen, if desired. Or just display the RDC window for a more "Mac like" experience. (i.e.: "Unity Mode" in Fusion. "Coherence" in Parallels.) I offer those suggestions because I don't hold much hope of Microsoft updating the Mac RDC client since it's lacked this feature through several versions of Windows. (Vista, Win7, Windows Server 2008 & Windows Server 2008 R2.)

I have 2 desktops. mine and my sons. His is controlled by parental controls, when firefox downloaded the latest version he is no longer able to get on firefox on his desktop. please help.

I have Cox Internet service, which allows me to control what content other users on my computer see and do. My son has parental controls which do not allow him to view certain websites, download programming, ext... With this last update to Firefox, I am still able to get on the internet, but when he tries to click on the Firefox icon on his desktop it tells him there has been an error and shuts down. He is forced to use Internet Explore. I do not want him using this web browser. Please help us get him back on Firefox.

Add-ons are the responsibility of their authors. McAfee does not even put their extension on http://addons.mozilla.org you had to install it from their site.
Disable "McAfee Site Advisor" extension which was just updated to 3.4.0, which probably took it out of the addons block list.
* "Ctrl+Shift+A" > find McAfee Site Advisor and use "Disable", and then restart Firefox.
* Do a Google Search no problem
* It seems that if you re-enable Site Advisor again, and restart Firefox you are okay. At least you know where to look if you get the error again or Google searches slow down.

I rebootedholding the shift key.
I have checked the Finder / Preferences / General is selected to show the hard drives, also in Finder / Preferences / Sidebar is selected.
I have opened the Disk Utility application and if you see the system disk, I have told you to check and tells me that the disk has no problems.
Otherwise the iMac works perfectly, but Safari, which is all I have used since the problem besides Disk Utility sometimes gets stuck, and has trouble reconnecting.
Help, please.

Corrupt font book & spinning wheel of death means I can't access my desktop! HELP!!!

I hope someone can help as this is driving me CRAZY!!!
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on my mac and earlier installed some fonts to font book - which appears to have corrupted the font book. I am frozen out of my desktop. I can ONLY log in using safe boot to access my desktop. If I try my usual log in, all I get is the spinning wheel of death!!! Aargghhh!! It's proving a problem as I can't access any of my servers using the safe boot.
Really hope someone can help!!

What BDAqua said. Get those crummy fonts you added off the drive. At least one of them must be so bad that's it's corrupting RAM every time the system tries to load it.
A Safe Mode boot removes the user cache files of the account you log into in Safe Mode, and clears Font Book's database. Normally, that would allow you to restart normally since Font Book's database is not rebuilt until you launch Font Book. That you can't even get that far means you have some really BAD fonts.
Boot into Safe Mode again. Make a new folder on the desktop and move all of the fonts you added out of the /Library/Fonts/ folded, or the Fonts folder of your user account. Whichever one you put them in.
Now you should be able to startup normally.

Receive an error message when trying to import any videos from iphone to iphoto on my desktop. Help?

I have 6 videos on my iphone, varying in length from 24 seconds to 11 minutes, that will not import to iphoto. I have tried to import them as a group and individually but get a message that 'there was a problem accessing the file.' I had no difficulty importing over 300 photos from the phone to the desktop. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Thanks. Anne

See if you can use Image Capture to upload the video files to a folder on the Desktop and then import from there into iPhoto.

Can't download an xml file to desktop - Need help

Hello, I need to save an xml file to my desktop. Each time I try, the xml file saves as a Final Cut Pro icon. When I try to open or upload the xml file - Final Cut automatically opens (which I don't want) and it is unable to show/translate the xml. How can I get my imac to download and upload xml properly?
I need to do this so that I can use the bulk mail "Dazzle" function on Endicia for online postage. Help please and thanks so much.

Just highlight the file, hit the "return" key, and you can edit the file's name. Just highlight ".txt" and delete it. You'll should get a prompt asking you if you really want to change the extension to "xml" from "txt". Just click on the "Use xml" button. That should change the extension.

You shouldn't need Office to work with XML files. They're just text files. In fact, a great app for working with XML files is free: TextWrangler is really good for editing XML files...

Updated my computer and will not show any images or documents unless they are on desktop only HELP!

Since I have updated my computer I can not find any images that I have saved in the past unless I have saved them directly in a folder on the desktop. I have tried searching all files and it only shows what I have on my desk top. Any help would be great!

Desktop display help needed

my son was playing with the computer and accidentally did something to change the display of the desktop screen and now everything is re-sized. The dock on the bottom of the screen and the bar on top no longer fit on the page together and all the icons on my desktop and my screensaver pic are larger and slightly distorted This re-size continues when I open up Safari. Help please!

The music should be in My Documents-->My Music.
In iTunes go to file-->add folder to library. Find the folder where all the music is, select it, and hit ok.
The music should import and convert.
Any protected files will not import.

After 60 days, Blackberry Desktop Sync deletes all appointments in Lotus Notes desktop. Help!

This is a problem that I just discovered. I understand why appointments older than 60 days are deleted from the database on my Curve 6330. However, I just discovered that whenever I sync with my Lotus Notes calendar, the Blackberry Desktop software is also deleting calendar appointments on on my Lotus Notes desktop calendar that are more than 60 days old. My Lotus notes desktop calendar is my sole record of old appointments. How can I set up Blackberry Desktop to sync calendar entries (including task entries and memo entries) without also deleting calendar (and task entries for that matter) entries that are more than 60 days old from my Lotus Notes desktop. I have provided some information below that may help.
Step 1 – If you have a previous backup saved on the Curve, I would recommend trying to restore that backup.
Step 2 – Ensure the songs are placed on the SD card.
Step 3 – Ensure the songs are not controlled by DRM. Files controlled by DRM cannot be copied to the BlackBerry smartphone, and are not recognized on Blackberry smartphones.
