Desktop restart / refresh when clicking dektop HD icons.

I've just reinstalled OSX Server 10.2 on a new hard drive after the old one died. I've installed all the updates.
Clicking on the desktop hard drive icon makes the desktop vanish and then reappear. CMD-N opens a new finder window just fine, and from there I can open the hard drive. However, if I set preferences to open directories in a new window, the desktop vanishes and refreshes.
I have deleted the finder preferences, and also logged in as a different user. Same problem. Permissions have been fixed. Disk utility finds nothing wrong. Disk Warrior finds nothing wrong.
I'm at a loss.

  • Firefox does not open when clicking on the icon, the firefox.exe process consumes 99 % of the CPU and my computer runs slowly.

I have been a happy user of Firefox for many years. Around last April first I opened Firefox and was offered an update to v 4.42.0.0 which I accepted. Installation seemingly went well. I forget now exactly what happened but the result has been that ever since April 1 I haven’t been able to open the Firefox browser when clicking on the Firefox icon. My computer now was running very slowly. I tried to uninstall Firefox, but a popup told me I couldn’t because Firefox was in use. This confused me because I couldn’t see it being used. Only now I have found that on Task Manager processes that “firefox.exe” was consuming 99 % of the CPU. After removing firefox.exe by clicking End Process my computer ran better. I uninstalled Firefox I had on my computer and installed Firefox 5.0. Unfortunately I have the same problems: Firefox does not open when clicking on the icon, the firefox.exe process consumes 99 % of the CPU and my computer runs slowly.

Born2die! Brilliant. I am a desktop clicker and never knew Firefox had a safe mode.
    Thank You!
I was unable to start in safe mode initially. The second time I disabled all of the Add-Ons and she started up just fine. I enabled them one by one hoping to track down the culprit but the problem seems to have gone away.
BTW I am running ver. 3.6.8 (in response to cor-el's earlier post) and
Firefox is in the process of downloading 3.6.10 (which I am starting to think may have been what caused this whole problem to begin with)
Incidentally, whats up with all of the Java Console Add Ons?
    I have:
Java Console 6.0.11, Java Console 6.0.13, Java Console 6.0.15
Java Console 6.0.17, Java Console 6.0.20, and Java Console 6.0.21
What are they? Do I need them? Can I uninstall them? Is this due to using Open Office?
Also, .NET Framework 0.0.0 Should I uninstall it?

  • When clicked on an icon in the infopath form, it will open another infopath form from another file. How do?

When clicked on an icon in the infopath 2013 form, it will open another infopath 2013 form from another
    file. How do?

    Hello Eugene Astafiev!
    I need the following scenario:
I have a Sharepoint library with items created by Infopath (form A).
I developed another form (form B) that will query items created by form A.
The form B will be in a static "webpart" page navigation (Sharepoint). One of these fields returned by the query library that manages the items created is the URL responsible to load the item data . I would like to parameterize the URL into form B.
So that when the user clicks on it, the form A with their respective data in a modal is returned (which may be a native modal Sharepoint)

  • When click the email icon on my iphone, it opens on one email only.  I can not go to the next or previous email, a different email or anything.  It only gives me the option to move that email!  How can I stop this.  Its been working perfectly well before!

When click the email icon on my iphone, it opens on one email only.  I can not go to the next or previous email, a different email or anything.  It only gives me the option to move that email!  How can I stop this.  Its been working perfectly well before!

Now as you may know there is some icons at the bottom of the mail app, at the top left conner you should have the inbox button and on the upper right conner you should have two arrows to shift between emails. If any of those options works try :
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings
If that does not work try to re add the account
Last but not least, restore as new.
    Hope that helps.

  • New Seagate 1.5 Tb Hardrive problem when clicking on hardrive icon

I recently installed the new Seagate 1.5 TB hardrive into bay 4 and installed OS 10.4.11 on it. It worked fine for a few days, but then started doing this: when I double click on the hard drive icon on the desktop, to open and view the contents, it briefly opens then flashes closed. The hardrives in the other three bays open normally when I click on the icons. I repaired permissions but this didn't help, so I re-installed the operating system. It worked fine for about a week, but now is doing the same thing. Before I send it back, any suggestions that might fix the problem?

Seagate now lets you check the serial number on their website, so you don't need to use the Windows drive check.
Use the Serial-ATA section of System Profiler to determine the serial number and current firmware version (Revision), then start at step 2 of:
    <http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=207931&Hilit e=>
This will tell you the required firmware, but you still need a Mac Pro or Windows computer with SATA to install it. You could try contacting the supplier of your drives to see if they will update them for you.

Firefox will update in increments when you use such old versions. The best thing to do is to go to www.getfirefox.com, and download Firefox 19.0.2. This is going to be much faster than updating to 3.0.19, then to 3.6, then 12, then 19 (which is the current process).

  • When clicking the itunes icon on my left side of screen a window pops up and says i need to disable the compatability, I tried to do this from what it prompted me to do, but it still say problem unresolved

I have not been able to access the itunes store for the past month, it has been a long time since I have downloaded/purchased anything, probably around christmas time, but the problem is I click on the itunes store and the grey zebra striped bar just keeps running accross the top indefinitely, one other thing is that when I click on my itunes icon on the left side of my screen a window pops up and tells me to turn off compatibility, so I tried to follow the prompts through the properties from right clicking the itunes icon but after the thing runs its check and i click on make suggested changes, it still says incompatible.  I have no idea what to do and this is extremely frustrating, please help!!

  • Firefox won't start whenI click on the icon; info on help page doesn't help

I have Windows XP and Verizon Internet Security Suite. I've installed Firefox twice (with an uninstall in between) and it still won't load when I double-click on the icon. It runs fine on my other laptop with same OS and same anti-virus/firewall. Info on help page doesn't actually address this problem, even though the headline indicates it does.

  • Desktop Software crashes when clicking on "Configure Settings"

    Hi,
I am a Blackberry newbie having bought my first one yesterday: a Bold 9780.
I installed the Desktop Software that came with the CD on my notebook running Windows 7 Professional. When Desktop Software started up after installation, I immediately got an error message that said "Rim.Desktop.Autoupdate has stopped working" and it then tries to search for a solution which didn't work.
However, Desktop Software managed to open up nicely despite that problem. In the main window, I went through the setup procedure as prompted. But when I got to "Organizer" and click on "Configure Settings...", it will attempt to do so but will crash with a message saying "Black Berry Desktop Software has stopped working". I have tried it several times and had the same response.
I have spent close to 8 hours through the night reading through all the message and forums here and on other websites and have tried countless ideas: clean uninstall and reinstall, register DLL files, etc. but nothing works. I have even tried installing the previous version 5.0.1 which also has some issues with being unable to open device database or something like that.
Getting this desktop software working is very important as I need to import all my work contacts from Outlook 2007 to my new 9780.
I am really at my wits end and would appreciate any help.
    Thanks so much.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried the steps mentioned at the sites you linked but none of them helped at all. Upon further searching, I found a KB article mentioning that the crashing issue has been escalated with no solution as yet. It recommended that DM 5.0.1 be used instead.
So I did a clean uninstall of Desktop Software 6, downloaded DM 5.0.1 and went through the setup as documented. Did a sync and encountered a new problem. I check through and found some articles that recommended I try to narrow down the problem. I managed to sync my "task" and "notes" list on Outlook 7 with the BB Bold 9780 with no issues. But when I tried to sync the "Calendar" and "Address Book", it failed. Opening the log file, I discovered this error:

Again I googled it and came up with nothing that worked. Stuff I tried:
    1) Cleared the database using the "Advanced" function in "Backup and Restore" but that didn't help either.
    2) Deleted the "IntelliSync" folder and re-configured the sync and tried it again. Nada.
    3) Created a new empty profile on Outlook 2007 with no calendar or address book entries just in case there are some corrupted entries there, reconfigured DM 5.0.1 to sync from that and overwrite all data on my Bold 9780 and that didn't work either.
    4) To be sure, I even tried to sync from Yahoo. And those DM did successfully log in, the same error as above pop up.
I would hazard a guess that DM 5.0.1 is not able to open the Bold 9870's database. Not sure why.
I think I should mention at this point that I am using Windows 7 Pro Edition and Outlook 2007. I am not using any enterprise nor any wireless sync. All I am trying to do is to get my address book and calendar entries onto that DARN Bold 9780 with the supplied cable.
I am thinking that maybe DM 5.0.1 may not be able to access the database on my Bold because it's running OS6.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,
Did you try to create a new mail profile without exchange account?
Besides, I recommend you use CalCheck to check Outlook Calendars for problems.
And then you can delete corrupt calendar item or use Calendar Repair Assistant to repair the corrupt calendar item.
