Desktop S/W Won't Recognise Bold 9700

I'm new to this forum and have a new BB Bold 9700 - great phone!   But I want to use the Bluetooth Sync capability.  I have loaded all the latest S/W for the notebook and the device (eg., DTS/W 6).
The phone is now paired and connects reliably with my Win7 notebook. However, DTS/W won't reliably find the device (ie, rarely finds it) - even when the device is connected to the computer.
I've read widely on this forum and been into Desktop Options/Bluetooth etc and all is in order there. Found all the relevant (seven) drivers (ie BB Desktop Service and BB Bypass Service) after lots of research on various forums.
So now DTS/W connects on some occasions. But rarely! Last time, I had the phone connected to the PC and DTS/W connected instantly, synced quickly - all fine.  Disconnected and tried again shortly after. DTS/W showed "Connecting" for ten minutes. Sync started in the meantime, progressed slowly (10 minutes) but completed successfully.  Disconnected the device and then tried again a few minutes later and DTS/W did not recognise the device - which is the normal situation.
At one stage, with the phone connected to both the PC and the DTS/W and the "slow sync" in progress, the phone rang and connected through the notebook! Answered using the notebook mike and speakers!! Presumably because the device is connecting to the notebook using the Headset Audio Gateway Service.
All quite baffling and I'm hoping someone has some answers. Is it possible to get a Bold 9700 to reliably sync with DTS/W 6?

Hi there!
Just to clarify: the phone successfully pairs with the notebook.
It is the Desktop S/W that does not recognise the phone!  I would have thought that a phone that was already successfully paired would automtaically be recognised by the DeskTop Software.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
Cheers.

  • Bold 9700 won't let me sync with Windows 7 computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software version 6

I just got a new computer with Windows 7.  I installed version 6 of BlackBerry Desktop Software.  It installed just fine.  When I connect my Bold 9700 to it the software recognizes the phone and has the list of model, PIN, and phone number.  It allows me to backup the device - but not sync it.
I went to configure my sync settings.  It goes to the screen for me to set the sync options for calendar, memo pad, etc.  I selected calendar.  It asks me which application I'm using and I select Microsoft Outlook (I'm using Outlook 2010).  I choose 2 way sync.  So, up to this point it's working correctly.  But, then when I hit "next" on this screen it gives me an error message - the operation terminated unexpectedly.  I have no clue what's going on.

I have the same problem and have tried one way sync's, deleting and re-entering the calendar entries made around the time the problem started. If it is a corrupted entry, I can't find it.

  • Desktop Software 6 won't recognize paired Bold 9700 via Bluetooth

I use a Blackberry Bold 9700 and want to get Desktop Software 6 to connect to the phone via Buetooth (USB is not a problem).
I have been through KB04132 (How to set up Bluetooth Connectivity between a Blackberry smartphone and Desktop Manager). All the required Services are activated on the Device and the Device is successfully paired. (I am using a Windows 7 notebook with the notebook and device software fully updated).
Following KB04132, in "Blackberry Device Manager"//"Add Bluetooth Device"//"Select the device you wish to add", the Device is found and listed but I notice it is listed by the device name "Owens Blackberry" and a series of pairs of numbers separated by colons and enclosed by brackets): it does not list the PIN number as KB04132 indicates it should.  Then when I click OK the device is not added to the Bluetooth devices list in the Bluetooth Configuration box - the box is empty. Selecting Add again, the device is found again but clicking "OK", again it is not added to the listing.
Has anyone successfully got Desktop Software 6 to connect to a Blackberry Bold 9700 using Bluetooth? What am I doing wrong here?
    Cheers,
    Owen

  • BLACKBERRY TORCH - won't turn on and desktop manager won't recognise it - I can't get my contacts

    Hi all,
I'm new to this so please bare with me.
I'll try and be as brief as possible. Up until last week I had the Blackberry Torch 9800. I was due an upgrade and about two days before I went to contact my network provider my Torch battery died (it wasn't broken at this point, it just was drained and needed charged) so I went to charge it and it did that thing where the battery was so dead it wouldn't even switch on whilst charging.
I plugged it in and rather than charge like normal it was completely dead and the only activity it offered me was two red flashing lights as it 'charged'. From that moment on it has not turned on. Dead as can be. If I plug to charge (wall charger OR USB port) I get the two bright red flashing notification lights but it will not go on.
Anyway rather than send it to be repaired I opted for a new phone as I was due an upgrade anyway and intended on doing so whether the Torch was alive and kicking at this point or not. Cut a long story short I got my new blackberry (9360 curve) it is all set up with my e-mail etc, media card and same sim card swapped over but as Blackberry insist on your contact numbers being saved to the handset and not the sim my contacts are stuck in my Torch 9800.
When I go to plug the Torch in to Desktop manager to get the contacts saved to there and then sync over to my new handset the Torch is so dead that DManager won't even read/recognise it. My network say since this is not an issue with network etc they can't really help and gave me a number for Blackberry services in England somewhere (they are office hrs so can't phone until Monday morning).
Please can someone help? I have my new 9360 all up and running but my contacts are stuck in my Torch and that is the only place they are? DManager won't recognise the Torch because it is dead - except the two flashing lights - and therefore won't let me at the contacts that way.
ANY help would be appreciated - please not too techinal as not great with all of that side of things!
    Sorry for the long post.

  • Address Book Backup from Curve to Bold 9700

    Hi,
I just upgraded from my elderly Curve to a Bold 9700 and tried to restore everything which I had backed up from the Curve to the new handset. Everything restored to the new phone except what I wanted most which was my address book. It had backed up ok onto my desktop but when I tried to restore the address book, it said the following words:
"Databases that are unavailable in the list have been configured for wireless synchronisation or wireless backup and are read only. You cannot restore them".
Well as you can imagine, I am tearing my hair out!! Does anyone have any suggestions - preferably ones that don't involve self-harm!!
    Thanks and regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
As you won't be needing the money for a haircut, can I borrow enough to get some new BIFOCALS?   I auto-inserted  "desktop" in between "Blackberry Manager".
I think  that the wireless sync option is enabled on the device. Read Option 1 in the attached link for resolution.

  • Problem in Bold 9700 after upgrade to OS 6.0.0.448

I recently upgraded my Bold 9700 to new OS i.e. 6.0.0.448 .Overall the Os is perfectly fine, but one day later I found the problem which is a major and serious issue. The network is not working properly. I called up my service provider and they told me that in network connection options there should be 3 options "2G" / "3G" and "2G/3G" but i could not see any "2G" only options, which is the reason for the problem.
I am having the phone on which i can not make any communications . plesae help..

  • Updated to DM 6 cannot connect my Bold 9700 anymore

Hi there. I'm new to the blackberry community. I got a Bold 9700 three days ago. I was using DM 5, provided with the phone. It was working great. Yesterday I've updated to DM 6. At first it worked  perfectly, but today it just won’t work. It asks for my device password than it keeps forever "Connecting". I tried to uninstall it and install DM 5 back with no luck. I have a friend with a curve 8520, different carrier, different computer, experiencing the same problem. Can anyone help me please?

    Hello,
I would recommend removing the battery to restart the BlackBerry smartphone and then trying to reconnect again.
    Thank you

  • Bold 9700 Memopad files lost?

    Hey everyone,
I've been searching the forums to try to find a solution for this and while some people have had similar issues, they are slightly different than mine.
I took a bunch of notes on my Bold 9700 memopad between 2011-12 and synced them with my computer which was a 2010 model Macbook Pro. Once I had synced the notes, I never could find them on my computer at that time. I tried to look in the Apple Mail app and found nothing. I had transferred them using the Blackberry Desktop Manager.
Then that computer began to die, so I transferred all information off of it onto my external hard drive. I still have all of the files from that computer. Now I use a new Macbook Air. But I am still unable to find the location of those memopad files. I could never find them on the previous computer, and still cannot find them.
Does anyone have any idea of what folder they may be in? And if so, how I can view them on my Macbook Air?
    Thanks so much!
    Jake

    hi again !
this is what probably happened :
when you installed OS6, at some point you were supposed to check the applications you wanted to be installed back. It seems that BlackBerry Maps was not checked.
so I will ask you to connect your device to your computer, run the loader.exe application (use Windows Explorer to search for it), and reinstall the BlackBerry Maps application, as well as any other application you wish that appears in the list.
    please keep me posted, Sabrina31523.
