  • Safari Redirected to Adbaaz website

    Hello all,
    I'm using an iBook G4 with Safari browser. Recently, Safari would automatically redirects itself to Adbaaz website with the keyword of the webpage that I intended to go to. This would happen if I would want to go to a forum, clicking a link from a google search page, to a blog, or even some online newspaper website.
    On some days, the same website i.e www.yahoo.com will load properly, but on some days it will be redirected.
    I have checked with other users within my company and some have reported that they were facing the same problem as well, although they are using Windows and not Macs.
    I have googled for some solution but have found solutions for Windows. The link could be found here :
    http://www.boldinteractive.com/2007/09/24/adbaazcom-redirects-sites-using-tracki ng-code-supplied-by-websourcedtrafficcom/
    but no solution can be found for a Mac user.
    I have also checked whether I have the OSX.RSPlug.A Trojan (not that I have installed any codec whatsoever) just to be sure following the advice from here :
    http://www.macworld.com/2007/10/firstlooks/trojanhorse/index.php
    but my Mac is clean.
    Tried using ClamXAV to detect any spyware/malware/virus/trojan but even after clearing/fixing the findings, the problems still persists.
    I am connected through an Ethernet to my company's server which gives out the DNS. Not sure which OS is the server running on though.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    This is a shot in the dark but check to make sure. With Safari open, click Safari/Preferences/General in the Menu. With the General tab open, where it says; New window open with... if the pop menu shows: Homepage... make sure the Homepage url isn't the url redirect address.
    Carolyn
    Also... try using a different user. If you are the only person who uses your Mac and you use just the admin account, go to System Preferences/Accounts and create a new account. Name it Test.. or whatever want. Then log onto that account and see if Safari redirects to that url. If not, then the issue is isloated to just your Home Folder admin account and not system wide.
    Carolyn
    One more thing... try doing a Search with Spotlight. Use keywords like Network Solutions/Adbaaz
    Look here for preference files: /Home/Library/Preferences. See if there is a preference file that looks similar to this: com.Adbaaz .plist (It may not be worded exactly like that but that's close)... trash any files with that name.

  • Can you build a mobile website in Muse and redirect to a desktop website which is not built in Muse?

    Hi
    I am looking at the idea of extending my photoshop monthly subscription to one that will give me access to Muse and Illustrator etc.
    I have been building mobile websites on a mobile platform and then redirecting these to clients desktop sites - this is an option for clients who don't want to go the whole hog with new web design.
    Is it possible to build a mobile website using muse and then redirect this mobile website to an existing desktop site that has not been built on Muse?
    Thanks in advance
    Michele

    You can certainly use Muse for hosting on other hosts as well. You do lose some of the functionality of Business Catalyst such as In Browser Editing. I just saw that you did your current one in Wordpress ... so I assume there is a blog?
    If so, keep in mind that Muse alone does not have a blog feature. You can integrate a Business Catalyst Blog into it with a bit of knowledge on how BC works.

  • I keep being redirected to mobile versions of most sites even though I'm using my desktop...Help!

    For some reason recently, my computer has decided that I'm always using a mobile device and I keep getting redirected to mobile versions of websites. I do use my phone to broadcast a wifi hotspot but I had been using it for months with no issue to the webpages until just a few weeks ago. Most times I can go to the bottom of the page and change it back to desktop but it never keeps it that way. I have run into the issue with my yahoo and aol mail where the mail page won't load at all so I can't change it to desktop nor can I see my mail. I can't figure out how to stop this from happening and it's becoming increasingly frustrating to not be able to view my mail on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How do i get Safari to stop redirecting to mobile sites?

    Mobile websites are a curse, and IMO was one of the main reasons people didn't use the mobile web before the iPhone. Now with the iPhone you can view the actual web (minus flash, which I would really like to see soon, hint hint), without having to deal with these crippled sites, yet most of them still redirect you to their mobile site.
    Someone please tell me there is a way to get safari on the iPhone to stop redirecting to mobile sites without jailbreaking my phone.

    These redirects are controlled by the websites themseives. They figure out if you are on a mobile phone or not and then redirect you to the mobile version.
    The only way to change that is to look for a link on their site that leads to the full version or write the website webmaster asking them for a link to be added.
    There are other ways as well but those aren't supported by Apple so they can't be discussed here.

    Oy Vey Zak!!!
    I've been over this for about an year now ( you can read other related posts) and have grown weary because there is no viable solution. The issue is that certain manufacturers devices, mainly Samsung & Archos tablets in my case, don't "pull" the correct version of my site. I have tried my site on iPads and the correct version appears no problem however not everybody has (or likes) an iPad. On Samsung and Archos Tablets the Phone site appears which look crappy. In this case I would expect that, due to the resolution of the tablets, the desktop version would appear which makes sense and is desirable.
    Currently I'm in the middle of redesign so I only have Desktop and Phone complete. However, if you use an Archos or Samsung Tab tablet you will see that it defaults to the phone which in my opinion is silly since they both have the resolution needed. When I did have a tablet site available in my last site version, the tablets would default to the phone site like now.
    My larger question is when does Adobe plan on rolling out responsive / elastic / flexible (whatever you want to call it) design? And I'm not referring to three separate sites either.
    I'm not sure what the technical restrictions are that the Muse team is facing which prevents them from implementing responsive design?  Can't Adobe take Reflow and "merge" it with Muse or something along those lines?
    Macaw , Webflow , CoffeeCup ... all offer this. As a non coder I would be interested in hearing (again) why this cannot be for Muse?
    Frustrated,
    Ed

  • Mobile Safari as full desktop safari browser in ipad

    Mobile Safari as full desktop safari browser in iPad
    I am having a curiosity which i need to solve with the help of yours. Actually as per my knowledge is concerned i know that the iPad is working with the mixture of mobile Safari as regular one. What i want is to change this to the full desktop safari browser. So is there any modification which i can perform to get it working as i want to. Thank you.

    If you would specify exactly what you need, then someone might be able to offer an alternative means to reach the same goal.  But as PogoPossum said, nothing will let you run Flash or Java, or Windows Active X, or use the browser to download apps from the internet.  Apps must always come from the iTunes app store.

  • Website redirect when mobile divice are accessing  the website..

    Hi

  • Mobile Websites

    Is it possible to not go to the mobile website? For example, I took my IPhone and tried to go to www.pizzahut.com, and it redirected me to their mobile website made for the IPhone. Because of this, I could only place an order, find the nearest Pizza Hut, and check for deals specifically for mobile users. It was not at all helpful, and I could not find any way to go to the normal site, like you would on your desktop or laptop. The IPhone also did that for the first few times I went to Google.com, but I was able to change to the normal site through Settings on the Google page. Is there any way to go to the normal sites only? Like, not go to the mobile sites at all? Thanks.

    So, they have to keep all different browswers from different phones.
    Not exactly. The browser used is on your computer or the device is for accessing the website. The website provider can determine which browser you are using - on a Windows PC or on a Mac, or on a Windows Mobile device or on the iPhone. Safari on the iPhone is picked up as a mobile browser - which it is.
    The websites that offer a full and mobile version of their website believe they are doing mobile device users a favor - since most mobile browsers on other devices aren't as good as Safari on an iPhone - even without Flash support. As 3G network access continues to expand - with Verizon and at&t, this will likely change over time, but not likely anytime soon.
    Just wondering how popular for phone users really browse through websites?
    Very popular.

    You rarely browse websites because it is like peeking through a hole?
    I have no idea what this means, and how does $$$$ play into browsing a website - as far as money being taken from you?

  • Redirecting to mobile sites

    How do I get safari to go to the site I type in, instead of redirecting me to the worthless mobile site?

    It's not Safari redirecting you; it's the website itself. The site can detect you're using a mobile browser and will automatically redirect you to their mobile site. They do sometimes provide a link to load the normal site, which is usually located somewhere near the bottom of the page. Be aware the regular site is usually much more graphic-intense, slower to load, and therefore more costly depending on your data plan/usage.

  • Page continues redirecting to mobile site.

    I have my website www.jorgeromero.me (I'm still a beginer so please give me opinios on what to improve, thanks)
    I have designed a mobile view of my regular site and in the head of the Desktop View site  I placed the following Java Script to redirect to mobile site to devices less than 800 px:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    if (screen.width <= 800) {
    window.location = "http://www.jorgeromero.me/welcome-to-my-page-mobile/";
    //-->
    </script>
    It works very well in mobile devices, the only thing I've noticed is that when I click "desktop view" to go to the regular site, it will keep redirecting me to the mobile site which makes sense because Java Script is doing what it's been asked for.
    I tried placing this code in the head of the mobile site to redirect to the desktop view but it only makes a loop in the browser which also makes sense
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    if (screen.width >= 800) {
    window.location = "http://www.jorgeromero.me";
    //-->
    </script>
    My question is.... what could I do in order to still be able to visit the desktop site when I click "desktop view" in the mobile site.
    Thanks a lot in advance for your help!!

    Thank you!!  I will definitely try this, thanks a lot for your reply.
    When placing the cookie do I have to keep the Java Script redirection code in my mobile site header??

  • Mobile website ASPX 2.0 Page not loading and Instead of loading it tries to download the aspx page sometimes

    We are facing a issue in a our Mobile Banking app built on ASP.NET 2.0. Sometimes, when we load the mobile website[https://mobile.dib.ae] from iPhone or any Android phones, log-in page will never get loaded. When the log-in page fails to load in iPhone/iPad,
    it’s giving us an option to download the login.aspx as a file. In some cases it shows download failed [Safari & Chrome]. In Android phone default browser, we are getting a different behavior when the log-in page fails to load. In Android phones its showing
    an error message as if the page was considered as a XML file and one special character in the xml file causing issue. [Images are shown below& attached].
    We are not getting the same issue in staging. Production fails randomly.
    We have three servers and load balancing is in place for production. We tried to access the site many times from different iOS and android versions and was successful with each of the servers. We have even tried connecting the mobile site by turning off all
    the servers except one, alternatively. All the servers worked fine individually. But it failed in the same mobile after clearing cache and cookies sometimes.
    This behavior is random and we haven’t able to figure out the root cause yet. There is no error in our log files or DB.
    There was security updates on all the servers before this issue started happening. We haven't uninstalled it yet.
    There were no updates on the filrewall F5.
    When we checked the IIS logs after a failed page load with the IP of mobile, we found there was only one entry made and it was for the favicon. We don't have favicon from the beginning and 404 error for favicon is since we started the site. As the only entry
    was for favicon and as it returns an error 404 just considering that possibility.

    It appears that your issue concerns web app development/troubleshooting and not .NET Framework setup (this forum's topic).
    Therefore, I suggest you ask in a topical forum here:

    how can i make iphone mobile website,  database in Sql Server 2005 ?
    Thanks & Regards

    You need to be a little clearer in what you're asking.
    You can't make any web site in SQL Server - it's a database engine, not a website tool.
    What you can do is create web sites that pull data from a back-end SQL Server, but the SQL server doesn't handle the client connection at all (that's handled by a web server such as Apache, IIS, or similar).
    There are many ways to build such a site including .NET, PHP, Perl and more (although I don't know all the options for Windows servers because they're not as common outside of corporate/enterprise networks).
    In either case, given your choice of development language (HTML, plus one of the PHP/Perl/.NET/etc. options), plus your database (SQL Server) plus your web server (IIS, Apache, etc.) you can make any web site you like (or, at least, you're capable of developing).
    If you want to opimize that web site for iPhones then there are many references on how mobile browsing differs from the desktop. I'd recommend this book as a reference (and, yes, I understand the irony of linking to a paperback book for web design guidance ). Googling mobile web design (or iPhone web design) might yield more results.

  • Using Muse, I was wondering if there is a way to convert a website that is already built into a mobile website.

    Using Muse, I was wondering if there is a way to convert a website that is already built into a mobile website. I have no idea how the website was originally built. My client is asking me to build a mobile site for his current site without touching his desktop site. His site was originally built in Dreamweaver I think but he have no way of finding the files and lost contact with his original designer. We don't want to start a new site from scratch with a new domain because he is afraid of losing his seo work.
    In other words. My client site was build in Dreamweaver or something else. I am not a programer and was going to use muse to make his mobile site. So the question is how do I link a muse made mobile site to his desktop site?
    Thank you.

        as62467 We appreciate your G3 question! Let's see how we can help. What you are able to adjust is the USB connection mode by going to the home screen and selecting'recent apps' (in the touch keys bar), settings,storage, the menu (the 3 tiny dots) and tap usb pc connection. If you do not want the software to try and install choose either the internet connection or camera option. Let us know if this helps.
