  • The screen saver too dark

ok i had my e65 a fews days now and i have
nearly figured out everything as in all
the functions with the exception of these,
    which i need help with.
1, when the sreensaver comes on i notice
that its too dark and i mean, if i wanted
to quickly look at the time and/or date
i have to focus properly to see it, i cant
quickly glance on it as other phones
is there some sort of control to adjust the
clock on the screensaver to turn the brightness
or contrast up a bit that i may have
    overlooked ?
2, whats the real purpose of this light sensor
on the top right hand corner ?
i have covered it a few times in day light and
low to no light at all but nothing happens.
    thanks in advance

"Did you work out how to do it, I've still not sorted it either?"
nope i have not figured them out yet... the screen saver is too dark and that light sensor must be some sort of joke.
    MINI RANT MODE ON
the light sensor really annoys me to look at knowing it serves no purpose at all and after using a few other screen savers its too bloodly dark. it would of been better if nokia had put nothing there at all at least this way i could understand that there is nothing to look at.
as for the slow capture actions of the camera..... well i will leave that for another time
    MINI RANT MODE OFF
apart from that though the nokia e65 is the best ever phone i have used to date. connecting via VPN or SSH to my home server is a breeze, using SIP with www.sipgate.co.uk is like talking on a house phone (very clear) the internet is fast even with the stock browser.
too many good points to mention
sorry KD44 i think i slightly diverted from the main question
if you figure them out then please let me know.. its obvious that one other nokia knows the answer.
    Thanks

  • 2626 screen way too dark

I am working in China and recently bought a Nokia 2626 here. The problem I have with it is that the screen is a dark brown color, and when then sun is quite bright here, then I cannot see what is on the screen at all, when the sun is out. :-(
Is it possible to remove the screen and replace it with a plastic I can see trough also during sunshine??
    Thanks
    Calle

Ok more info, as i forgot a little of it. The problem has existed for 9 days now, after taking battery out and restarting etc. I also deleted all extra apps I had added since I got the phone.  The light/white screen does go away..but its random but is normally white/light screen 95% of the time over the last 9 days. The phone has not been dropped or any water damage...no kind of damage what so ever. I think thats about it!

  • Control Panel LCD Screen is too dark.

Is there a way to brighten the LCD screen on the control panel? Thanks.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi @LeftyMike ,
I see that you would like to be able to lighten the LCD screen on the printer. I will do my best to assist you with this issue.
I have checked through the menu structure and wasn't able to find anything for the brightness for the display.
Try tilting the control panel up for viewing, to see if the light shows up.
Touch a button on the display, just to make sure the printer isn't gone into sleep mode.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
If the issue persists, then I would recommend to call HP Tech Support for further assistance to see what other options are available for you at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Contact HP Worldwide.

  • Screen too dark to see - it lights up when I plug it in a charger

my screen is too dark to see - can see SOMETHING in background - but too dim.  I can plug into a charger and it gets normal brightness.  Sometimes it starts flashing crazily!  I am frustrated.  This phone is my third or fourth phone (lost track) and all have been manufacturing problems.  HELP!

The screen needs to be replaced

  • Expansion Module screen too dark?

    Hi,
Has anyone used expansion module? I have tried this product recently, everything works fine except the screen. I think the screen is too dark to see the speed dial on it. I have tried both 7914 and 7915, but got same result. How can tune it more easy to see? Thank you!

You can use the Contrast setting in the phone's settings button. The 7914 and 7915 are monochrome without backlighting so be sure you are not expecting something it does not provide.

  • Ipod 4th gen. screen too dark, adjusting brightness does not help

lost ipod for a few weeks. When found screen is too dark.  If you hold it in the light just right you can see everything and it works, you just cant see it.

That actually happened to my friend. But he literally took the screen off and then did something in the inside but I'm not sure what he did. But yeah it should be something on the inside of the screen.

  • How to stop the AppleTV remote from affecting the desktop screen?

When someone else is using AppleTV, and scrolling with the remote, the desktop screen often goes dark and goes to the AppleTV menu. Really annoying when someone else is trying to work. Is there a way to unconnect the two? Why does the remote also affect the desktop screen...Sorry to be obtuse, maybe there is a good reason I haven't thought of? How to stop it? Thanks.

You don't need the IR receiver to be on to sync. Syncing is done through the network (a cabled connection or wireless network)
You can turn of your Mac's ability to respond to remotes:
    1. Open System Preferences
    2. Click Security under the Personal category
    3. Check Disable remote control infrared receiver
If you want it to respond to a remote, instead of disable you can pair it with a single remote, and then it will only respond to that specific remote.

  • Images edited in PSE10 and saved as Jpegs open up too dark on the desktop. OS is windows 7.

Hi I have a new Laptop runnings Windows 7 Home Premium. I installed PSE10 this week. I uploaded scans of my artwork and I resized them and adjust the blue colour (by only one click/ or 1 shade of blue.) I saved the image as a Jpg - high. It opens up on the desktop far too dark. How do I save the images to the desktop so that I can update my website using jpgs from teh desktop.
    Thank you

    Dear Ken
I did as you suggest. Saving it for web and I increase blue by one grade and I get a workable jpg. But that bit too dark in comparison to the original. I had the colour setting correctly set. I can save the particular image with the right colours using pse5 on my old Laptop. On the new laptop if I use "increase" blue to lighten up the image it appears too blue in emails and also on my website it will give the wrong colour as if it is overblue....
Your answer is very reassuring and I will do as you suggest.
    Many Thanks

  • Prints are too dark even though screen image looks fine

I have an iMac and an HP Photosmart D7360 printer. Lately, every photo I print is too dark. With older versions of iPhoto I was able to adjust the print settings (saturation, brightness, etc) from the print window and save those as a preset so my prints would match what I'm seeing on the monitor. Those settings seem to have disappeared in iPhoto '09 and I can't find a way to do that anymore. I don't understand Color Matching and some of the other settings I see, but I would like to learn how to get my photos to print the same as they look after I adjust them in iPhoto. It's mainly the darkness that's way off.
    Thanks.

I also ran Disk Utility to repair permissions. The first time through there were maybe 100 repairs made to the AirPort Utility.app. I don't even use AirPort, so I don't understand that.
I've re-run it two more times and both times kept getting this message:

    2010-04-20 19:28:05 -0500: Permissions differ on "usr/share/derby", should be drwxr-xr-x , they are lrwxr-xr-x .

Do I need to do anything else to fix that file?
Also, all three times I've repaired permissions it's taken over 5 minutes or more to complete. I've never had it take that long.

  • T400 vista login screen too dark

On my t400 with Vista Business the login screen is so dark that it is hard to see anything. It can be made brighter by using the brightness control keys, but this is a nuisance if you have to do this first before you can logon. Is there any way to set this logon screen to a higher default brightness??

    It's a power saving feature.
Check the Power Manager options under the Globat Settings tab and uncheck the option to dim the screen during startup/log-in.

  • Aperture 3 prints too dark

    I've been using
aperture 2 since it came out, no problems. I upgraded to Aperture 3, and have had no problems with my Library, but it won't print like Aperture 2 did - the prints are far too dark.
I have copied the same file to Lightroom, and with exactly the same settings, it is printing fine. I still have Aperture 2 on my MacBook, and that prints fine.
    So what's going on?

I've just spent the last hour doing print tests with 3.0.1 using two printers and two papers. My 27 inch iMac is calibrated with a Spyder3Pro and the brightness of the screen is turned down 4 notches from full. I have to say my default prints weren't bad, but here are the tweaks that made a difference:
    • Epson R2880 with Ilford Gallery Smooth Pearl: brightness +1.15, contrast +0.03, Relative, black point comp OFF.
    • Epson Stylus 1400 with Epson Premium Glossy Photo: brightness +1.10.
These settings give me prints that are pretty bang on. The Ilford paper tends to be a bit bluer than its onscreen profile so I've made a preset that punches the yellow. Works well.
Switching from Relative Colorimetric to Perceptual made little or no difference in these tests so I decided to leave it at default (Relative).
    A couple of bugs:
    • Print presets don't remember the assigned paper size (but this is also true in Preview).
    • Clicking More Options always clears the paper size back to default (US Letter). Annoying.
    • The print window won't remember its size and position between launches and moves around erratically when clicking More Options. Also annoying.
    • Photo refresh is way too long when switching presets. I get at least 10 seconds of blank preview before the image appears. Refresh when adding adjustments is equally long.
Also, nothing to do with printing but this update hasn't fix my bug with my secondary display going back to Alternate view every time I switch from Browser to Viewer mode. The menu still says Blank but the display is stuck on Alternate. I need to switch between Desktop and Blank for it return to normal.
Printing is certainly different in this version. The fact that the Gamma setting is gone shows how much of a change has been made. And since older presets aren't imported, it's back to the drawing board...
