Desktop screen on my Satellite C660-174 will not open correctly

I'm a newbie here so my question may be obvious to some,,,,but not to me!
My Satellite C660-174 laptop (running Windows 7) has stopped opening correctly. Everything is normal up to the point that my password is typed in. Instead of opening up to my 'desktop' with its icons all down the side I get a page with a 'Toshiba Leading Innovation' banner across it and just four random icons down the side.
How can I restore my desktop screen and all the icons?
Help will be appreciated.

I really don't understand what could be the problem but what you can try is to start your machine with F8 and enter advanced boot options. Choose the entry "Repair your Computer" and press "Enter". Go forward until you will enter System recovery options. Try to make system restore to earlier time. Maybe this will help you to fix described issue.

Does that mean, you are running iPhoto 9.6 on MacOS X 10.10.1 Yosemite? Or are you using an older MacOS X? "New" iPhoto is relative and depends on your system.

Where is your iPhoto Library (Mediathek) stored? Have you moved it to an external drive, or is it still in your Pictures folder (the order "Bilder")?

PDF files on FTP will not open correctly

Our PDF files open fine from local hard disks, and http locations. However, We are having trouble opening PDF files from a FTP server. After double-clicking on the file, the Adobe 'grey' background loads, and nothing else. At first time it opened fine in all computers, but afterwards it will not open. If we download the files from the server, the same file opens fine. We have tried in different OS like XP, Windows 7, windows 8 with different browsers. same problems occurred.
In all cases, the installed adobe reader was Adobe Reader 9 and above(9, 10&11). After we got one solution that to disable "Protected mode" in reader settings. If we disable protected mode, it is fine.
But the issue is, we have to provide those PDf files to our customers through our website. So we cannot disable it in customer's pc. Any alternate solution for this problem?
Why this problem occurs? How we can overcome from this error?

I cannot reproduce this problem with Reader 11.0.2 in Firefox 20.0.1 or IE8 on Windows XP (Protected Mode enabled).

All of a sudden my Firefox brower will not open correctly. It keeps telling me that it is trying to restore the previous session, but it doesnt' matter if I press the Restore button or the Close button to try again, it will not work. How can I fix this?

After I hit the Close button and try to reopen it tells me that Firefox is currently already running and to either close it or restart my computer. Which I did, and it didn't do anything. Also, when I press the restore button, it will not restore, it just sits there. Please help, I hate Internet Explorer and I don't want to use it longer than I need to.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Outlook 2013 will not open correctly

So I have just installed Office 2013 on a new install of Windows 7 as part of some evaluation work, my issue is when I open Outlook 2013, I get one, sometimes two blank windows with the title WORD either infront or sometimes behind the outlook window, and
outlook doesn't display the preview of the email correctly. I have tried a repair option but that didn't help.
I also looked in task manager and sure enough along with Outlook there are two instances of word, these all close if I exit outlook
What I have found is if I have outlook full screen, the two word windows open infront of the outlook GUI, I can hit the X to close those and then I see outlook but the preview screen is not working, I have to open the email to see the body. If I put outlook
in window mode (not max full screen) the two outlook windows open behind and I do get the preview screen and can not close them with the x button...

I have the same issue with Office 2013 Outlook 2013, but with W8, Outlook crasjes after starting upp.(Same problem with Lync 2013)
After investigating, I found out that the driver to Matrox M9138, the WDM one, was causing this. I found out, if I used the std driver in win8, Outlook worked. A soon as I uppdated to 4.03.00.147
WDDM NoWHQL W8 Beta, Outlook 2013 krasjet.
Without the Matrox 4.03 xxx drivers, I can't use the 2 other screens, so this is not a option.
It seems that its not the power desk app that is the issue, but the drivers....
Not sure if this is something that must be solved in the Matrox driver, or Outlook 2013.
My solution for this problem, was to dropp Office 2013, and for 2010.....
I hope this helps you guys to find a solution to this problem.....
I just came aware of that, the Matrox driver is in Beta... maybe the will solve this the next driver(been waiting since dec 2012)

Certain fillable PDFs will not open correctly in Acrobat DC

This can be used in Acrobat for Windows, but on Android it just gives you a warning page saying something like "If this message is not eventually replaced..."
It won't open in other Android readers wither, but one reader gave a little extra information, saying that the error was being caused by the use of proprietary XFL extensions.
Anyone know how to fix this, or if Adobe will address it in the near future?

I haev a website that that I use with no issues on my Desktop computer, but when I open webite on the ipad some things don't work, and the owner of the site says it's Safari. Anybody have a solution?

Different browsers sometimes display sites differently, especially if the website creator hasn't bothered to test the site in different browsers when developing it.
Sounds like the website owner hasn't bothered to test his site in the most popular mobile browser on the planet. Possibly he just tested it in one browser and nothing else.
The only person that can fix this website to work in different browsers is the website owner/creator.
Safari is one of the most standards compliant browsers available - so if it doesn't work in Safari properly, the website creator probably doesn't know what he is doing.

I have had this issue for a long time now and just dealt with it by always reading my mail in IE, which I dislike very much. It's very strange...When I click on my Yahoo Mail shortcut (or access it any other way), the page shows up for several seconds very distorted and totally magnified before it reloads in IE, at which point this is in my browser window: chrome://ieview/content/reloaded.html. I set the page to automatically load in IE because I cannot read the distorted page what-so-ever in Firefox. At one point, it worked for a couple days and I thought it somehow fixed by itself. However, it went right back to messing up. The thing that initially triggered this was that my cat was stepping all over my keyboard one day and somehow she hit a combination of keys to cause this issue. Any help would be much appreciated!

Screen Saver portion of System Preference App with 10.9.5 will not open

Screen saver with System Preference application will not open. All other Systemitems work fine.

Back up all data. Quit System Preferences if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A folder should open. If it does, look for a file with a long name that begins "com.apple.screensaver". There may be several such files. Move them to the Trash.
Log out or restart the computer. Test. If the problem is resolved. recreate your settings in the Screen Saver tab.

Facetime will not open or load properly

I have downloaded Facetime onto my IMac, and it will not open correctly, just shows the black screen with camera off. At times will say there is an internal error and ask me to quit and relaunch. Cannot access preferences. Any ideas? It works fine on my Macbook and my itouch.

I'm facing the same kind of trouble. Have been working on a short iMovie (about 3 min.) where I've been using cutaway to insert images. Now iMovie won't entirely load, I can't select Projects or Events. The movie I was working on is present in the editor and I can play it by pressing the space bar, but otherwise can't be controlled.
Odd thing, the three round buttons (stop, minimize and maximize) don't show anything when I run my mouse over them. I've restarted the machine, no change.
Is there an issue in "linking" still images into iMovie projects? Do those images get copied into the movie or is iMovie simply referencing their locations on my drive?
Should I consider reinstalling iMovie? If I did that would it destroy the Projects I've created?
