Desktop Software 4.7 - 8350i - No email options

I'm trying to remove the signature on my Curve 8350i and I need to do it with the Desktop Software 4.7 which came with the phone because the signature cannot be edited or deleted on the phone itself.
The technical support says to click "email options" on the desktop software but I only have the following options...
"Application Loader"
"Media"
"Back Up and Restore"
"Syncronize"
"Device Switch Wizard"
Any help?

In cases your email signature is set on your BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) account - do the following:
Login to you BIS site for your wireless provider. If you don't know address check this list
Edit your email account
Delete all text from "signature" field to remove signature from your emails.

  • No email option

    Heya everyone,
this is a really long story, but basically I had  a pay as you go number ported over to my new contract, which for some reason suspended all my blackberry services, including the access to my hotmail account. Not realising what had happened, I did a factory setting restore and upon turning on, the blackberry had no option whatsoever to add a hotmail account, and I'd lost most of my service books. I've been to my service provider, and three times they've said they'll send me all my service books and I haven't recieved them.
Is there any way I can add whatever service book would allow me to add my hotmail account to the blackberry manually? I need to be able to get to my emails at all times, it's the only reason I got a blackberry. I just updated with the desktop software, but there's still no option to add a hotmail.
    Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
No...your problem isn't the SB's. It's the BIS account itself. If you are on the same carrier as before, they need to migrate your BIS account to your new contract. If you have changed carriers, then your old carrier needs to delete your BIS account so that your new carrier can create one for you. If your new contract does not have BB services, then they need to be enabled. In any event, all of your resolution steps start and end with your carrier.
But, for grins, try the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you do need to go see your carrier(s).
    Good luck!

  • Can't get Desktop Software configured properly to work with Outlook 2007 and Blackberry 8703E

I have a Blackberry 8703E and I have Outlook 2007 on my laptop. I keep trying to install the Desktop software but don't know what option to choose, how to configure it to recognize Outlook, etc. My goal is to be able to sync my contacts, appointments, tasks, etc. between the laptop and my Blackberry. I have no clue what I am doing or how to install and configure the software to work.
Also, I am going to uninstall the Desktop software and want to know what the link is to download the most current version that will work with my phone and my laptop (running Vista). I do not subscribe to the Blackberry service but only want to sync between my computer and the phone.
PLEASE HELP! I am not knowledgeable in this stuff and any detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks a bunch!
    Wade Rearic

Don't know if you got your answer by now, but thought I'd try to help.
First, let me preface by saying I use Vista, not XP, but my Outlook is 2007.
Next, you need to be careful as to which versions of the software you use both (a) on your Blackberry desktop and (b) on your Blackberry itself.  For example, I use the 8703e via Verizon, but so far the phone's software only goes up to 4.2, which is two iterations short of Blackberry's latest smartphone software.  Why do they do this?  Because they typically introduce the new software via a new phone via an "exclusive" with a certain carrier, leaving all other users to either salivate or switch to the "exclusive" carrier.  Over time (6 months to a year) the "new" software may get rolled out to patient users with (by then) "older" phones, but they clearly want to incentivize consumers to just upgrade to new phones via special carriers.
As for the Desktop software, it is easy to get tripped up here, as Blackberry's download site in not very intuitive for this.  Your problem could be that you downloaded and installed a Blackberry Desktop Software that is too advanced a version for your phone.  (To add further confusion, the desktop software tends to have version numbers similar to the the phone software, such as "4.2.")
Bottom line: call your help number of your carrier to get the correct info for both sets of software for your phone.
Once all the right software/drivers are installed, the Desktop interface si fairly user-friendly.  From a few choices you can backup your Blackberry data; synchronize it (if you are not already doing that wirelessly), etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • Op sys., desktop software, ringe

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this.  I got my BB used and did not get the cd's for the desktop software, etc.  BB says:
    V4.2.2.176   (Platform 3.0.0.79)
I'd like to download the appropriate desktop software but there are so many options on Verizon's site.  I run Vista on my laptop.  Can someone direct me to which software to download?
Is my BB software up to date?  I read a forum about being able to fix the ringer so it is louder but you have to use 4.5 software only.  I really need a to have a loud ringer as I have hearing issues and cannot hear the classic ring unless it is right in front of me.
    This forum rocks.

  • Blackberry Desktop Software - Request Option to Disable Software from Loading During Start-Up

After Blackberry Desktop Software automatic updates. Software become part of Start-Up option or menu. I do not want Blackberry Desktop Software to automatically load during Start-Up. The Desktop Software does not have a user friendly option to disable the desktop software from loading during start-up. Am writing you to add this feature to your desktop software. I've just completed loading v5.0.1 and again I need to hunt and peck a way through windows to delete this software from loading during start-up. This software needs to have a user friendly option to disable the desktop software from loading during start-up. When I loaded v4.x.x when I bought my blackberry your set-up wizard had this disable option, but all your subsequent software upgrades change my windows start-up to load blackberry desktop manager software. Please add this feature to your software.

  • Is there any option to select Desktop Software from various versions ?

    Hi,
I am using blackberry curve 9300 for more than one year. To manage my phone I downloaded and working with desktop software 5.x for my purpose. I am using Windows XP SP2 for my PC and it's working fine for all of my purposes.
One week ago, I took a step forward to get PlayBook (OS 2.0). So, I planned to manage both the phone & playbook with desktop manager. Now, the latest PC software version 6.1.x is available (only available) on blackberry site to download. And after downloading I came to know that it is for Win XP SP3 or later OS versions.
I searched a lot and even talked to my local shop from where I bought the Playbook to provide me some compatible software ( may be 6.0.x which is OK with SP2), but he doesn't seems has much idea about that.
I am working on this combination of OS for long and it's working fine for all my development and other works. Changing the OS will be the last option in any case. It will cause a lot of changes and loss of great amount of data and time.
Can you please suggest some way out ?May be I can download compatible older version of desktop software from some link.

You can try to search blackberrys download database for a database on the older versions of blackberry software, if they have removed it now im sure there are Some websites about try Google.

  • Why won't my Bluetooth option start on the Desktop Software

Bluetooth radio is turned on. I've discovered my device but the Desktop software only has the option to connect by USB. Ver 5.0
During installation there is no option to choose what type of connection you want. I see there are options to choose between USB and Bluetooth or both, however they are grayed out. I have a successful USB connection. Everything works fine but I want to go wireless.
Running on Toshiba Sattelite laptop with Vista 32bit ultimate OS
Toshiba Bluetooth stack is turned on but it's Toshiba's  -  not microsoft (don't know if that matters)
    Device is found and paired.
When I connect from laptop to BB it asks if i wish to accept, so the conneciton is good. I answer YES to the Desktop option and the BB just says CONNECTING TO DESKTOP and stays there. I've waited for 15 minutes and then had to do a hard reset
    Any ideas.

HI and Welcome to the Forums!
I do believe the stack matters...must be Microsoft or WidComm. Here are some KB's:

  • Organiser Option Missing in Desktop Software - Trying to Copy Contacts from Mac to BB 9360

    Hi All
I'm really struggling here - trying to help my wife copy her contacts from her Mac onto her BB 9360. I've downloaded the BB Desktop Software, but I cannot find an 'Organiser' button.
Top left I see my phone, with a green usb connection sign when it is connected.
Left hand side of the screen are the various options - Under the word Summary it says Information and then lists Calendar, Contacts etc, and then under that it shows Media - Music, Pictures, Video etc.
Right hand side of the screen shows a picture of the phone and give some data about it.
In most of the instructions I've seen, I have to use the Organiser to tell the Desktop where to find the Contacts for it to copy them over - although I note it seems to know where the iTunes are stored without being told.
When I run Sync, it copies music over, and says it is copying contacts, but nothing seems to be transferred.
I can't find a Wireless Synchronisation option on the BB.
Can anyone help me please ?

    Hello jminitials,
    Welcome to the forums.
On the Mac where are the contacts stored? What version of the Mac OS are you currently using and what version of the BlackBerry Desktop Software are you using? When you do the sync are you getting any kind of error message?
With a bit more information we should be able to help you out.

  • Contacts retrieval from Curve 8350i and desktop software

My BB curve 8350i just died.  It won't turn on anymore even when connected to the charger.  I took it to a Sprint store and I was told that it can no longer be revived.
I have backed up the contents of my phone using the BB desktop software.  My question is, is there anyway I can retrieve those contacts from just the desktop software, w/o a BB phone?

    Yes.

At the end of this install try connecting the Blackberry to the PC without Desktop manager running.
See if the device comes up correctly. If not run Windows update with the Blackberry plugged in. The
device should be recognized and the device drivers added.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Interesting...well, I am downloading it right now with no 404, which would I think rule out a problem at the RIM webisite end. So, the only thing I can think of is that there is something in your internet routing that is somehow blocking it. Maybe you should start over from this point:
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
I was also going to comment that RIM does not yet support Desktop Software 7.x, but that seems to have changed sometime today!
    Good luck!

All data is in my handheld. I wish I could just "replace" (not merge/sync) outlook contact with all contact in the handheld but seems there is no option to do that. • Can't Change, Add or Remove Outlook Contacts Folder in Desktop Software

I’m using version 7.1.0.41  of the BlackBerry Desktop Software. I recently created a new updated PST file in Outlook 2010. When I looked at the BlackBerry Desktop Software Contacts Configuration by going to Organizer, then  Contacts – Microsoft Outlook: Configure…, Advanced Options: Advanced: Folders, I saw that the Desktop Software had defaulted to the default Contacts folder in my new Outlook profile. This wasn’t the Contacts Folder I had been using with my BlackBerry Curve 9320, so I chose “Select different contacts to sync”, double-clicked on my new Outlook Profile at the Root Level then selected the Contacts Folder I had used previously.
I found I could not use the Green Add button to add this folder and I couldn’t use the Red Remove button to delete the existing Main Contacts file. If I double-clicked on the Contacts folder which I wanted to use, the correct file path showed under “Select different contacts to sync”. However once I clicked OK and then returned to the Advanced Options, I found that it had reverted back to the original default settings.
I did notice that Outlook’s main Contacts file which I don’t want to use has a “Contacts” icon while the contacts Folder I want to use has only a generic folder icon. Under “My Contacts” in Outlook, however, all my Contacts files have the same icon. If I try to sync now, the Desktop Software wants to add all the contacts from my main Contacts group to my BlackBerry, which I don’t want. This all worked just fine before I updated my Outlook PST file.
Thanks for your help with this.
    Solved!

I've now resolved the problem. I had an email folder name "Mobile Contacts" which was causing me to use the wrong path. I needed to open the folder with the Contacts icon to get to the next level down where the Contacts folder I wanted to use was.
I couldn't add, remove or delete the folder I was attempting to use because it was actually an email folder, not a contacts folder.

  • Problem with Blackberry Desktop Software 4.3 Installation

Hi - I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Software 4.3.   The exec is called:  430_b025_english.exe
When I run the exec I receive an error:
     ERROR 1327.Invalid Drive E:\
However I have no Drive E attached.
What should I do?  Please help and thank you in advance.

Yes you would choose the bottom option (either blackberry internet service, or setting p a personal email account). You can still use the software to sync with an email clinet on your computer.
