Desktop software 5 doesnt install

I unpacked my new BB curve 8520, tried to install desktop software from the CD. Doesnt work. I get the message that the installtion was interrupted. I stopped antivirus. Still didnt work. I downloaded desktop software from the net. Same result. I tried to install from the CD via the exe and msi directly. Didnt work. Im installing on a XP professional laptop with the newest service packs.
Any idea, folks?

All is well.
I ran a diagnostic program and found an old desptop 4.2.2 installation. Fortunately the msi was still available. I deinstalled 4.2.2 and installed 5.
Thanks for your time.

I have a problem with my Palm IIIxe syncronization via Keyspan's serial adapter to USB. Prior to installation of 10.4.7 the whole kludge worked (ah, the beauty of Mac hardware & software) and the my old PowerMac G4 connected fine. Now, it fails. The hardware connection is good, as pushing the 'Hotsync' button on my Palm's cradle actives the HotSync Manager 3.1 & a screen pops up informing me of the start. Unfortunately, it does not progress from there & the Palm times out saying there was a failure to communicate.

  • Presenter Desktop Software cannot be installed

    Hi,
today I have received a BB Presenter. I followed the instructions of the Get Started manual and wanted to intall the Presenter Desktop Software.
When I downloaded the software from the web site I got a PresenterDN.rar file but no exe.
The Presenter icon has been added to my programs but when I click on it WinRar opens and shows me a lot of different properties files.
Does anyone have an explanation and a suggestion how to solve this, please ?
    Best regards
    Matthias

I don't know where you got your .RAR file from... here is the original location:
BlackBerry.com >> North America >> US English >> Smartphones >> Accessories >> BlackBerry Presenter >> BlackBerry Presenter Manager software
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/accessories/presenter/download.jsp#manager_software
you have a button to download the installer on your PC then it should self extract and execute without requiring to have WinRAR installed on your PC.

  • Desktop Software requiring re-install after each sync

Why do I have to re-install the desktop software after each sync? I have done this over four times and it is getting very frustrating. I have tweeted for support...still waiting...Is anyone else have this problem?

    Hello,
That's a rather odd result...can you provide more details? What exactly tells you that you must reinstall each time?
Have you tried the clean start over? I suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Good luck!

  • I can't sync my contacts to my mac (BB 9900, OSX Lion, Latest desktop software for mac installed)

Hi, I have a new blackberry bold 9900, the latest operating system for Apple (OSX Lion), the latest update on my desktop software and the latest update on my BB. However, I am only able to sync 37 of my contacts to Address Book on my mac, and I want to sync all 250+. I am not sure why this is.
Also for some reason, my new contacts are being saved to my googlemail contact list, although i have never specified this. Is there a way to stop this, and is there a way to change the contacts that are already saved on my googlemail list to my Desktop list?
thank you for your help in advance....

    Hey All,
DBJohnson - The Forget Device option removes all the synchronization history that is associated with that BlackBerry so if there was a corruption in the synchronization folder it would be cleared and fixed.
rubenmarcano - How many contacts are setup on the Mac Address Book?  Do you 2 different Address Books on the BlackBerry?  To find this information, go into Contacts on the BlackBerry and press the menu key and select Options and it will list 2 Contact lists.  IF there is 2, that can cause the problem since BlackBerry Desktop Software will only synchronize with 1 contact list.  I look forward to your reply.
Joycetz - Did you sync not work from BlackBerry to Mac or vice versa?  Also are you using Outlook or Mac Address Book or Entourage?

  • CC Desktop Software Failed to install

    Problem:
(Sorry its in dutch) It Says something like: Could not install Cloud Desktop.
No further error messages etc. No log entry's in Windows logs.
    Tried so far:
Run the CC removal Tool and then reboot the machine. Deleted:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    C:\Users\(UserName)\AppData\Local\Adobe
    Disabled Windows UAC.
Tried to install trial version of Adobe Photoshop @ http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html. Getting realy strange errors (I get Error 22 Windows does not have a constructor, Line 388 message.) Also the 64 bits version of Photoshop isnt working.
Tried to call Adobe. I get an Indian (verry kind) lady that tries step 1 and then tells me that my call will be rediected to second line of support. They told me that i will get a call back in 48 hours. Im long past that this time. Call Number:184641036
    Background information
    System:
Windows 7 PRO (64 bits) Fully up to date fresh install.
Machine is member of an active directory domain.
    All Adobe products are uninstalled.
    Virus scanner is temporarily uninstalled.
All Drivers are up to date.
    User:
Domain user with local administrator rights.
Also built in local admin doesnt work.
    Please help!!!!

    Hello Adobe,
    This was not the solution....
The call is still open and I got e-mail notifications that Adobe tried to call back but I never received a call from Adobe. Today I called again and they told me that the call is being forwarded to the senior level of Adobe and that I have to wait for 24/48 hours. Our Company bought licenses for Creative Cloud but its not functioning. This is costing money...
The call was opened on the 28e of August. The only thing Abobe support did so far is looked in the standard knowledge base. I told Adobe support that I did check the knowledge base and executed all the relevant articles.
I’m getting more and more frustrated with the support desk of Adobe. Why am I paying for software that isn’t functioning and a support desk that doesn’t take my call seriously?
I’m an IT Administrator with 10 years experience. Give me some serious support. No the knowledge base search procedure.
    Kind Regards

  • Desktop Software "Interrupted" during Install

    Hello,
I received a BB Curve 8310 a few days ago and it did not come with any software [a friend gave me his old on]. I have Windows Vista Home Premium x64 and NONE of the desktop managers have installed correctly. Here's how it has gone, and here is what I have tried:
It downloads fine, I right click on the icon, Run as Administrator, it begins to install then suddenly stops saying the installation has been interrupted.
I have tried running my computer in safe mode, turning off all security/firewall, renaming the old InstallSheild folder, everything.
Please, please, please help me. All I want to do is update my BB OS.

    Hello mrmabry,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums
There are a few options to look at in this situation.
If you are only concerned with updating your software you should be able to so through the following link using your USB cable tethered to your PC:
    BlackBerry Upgrades
Alternatively there is a knowledge base article regarding the issue you are running into that may help you install the Desktop Manager Software:
Wizard was interrupted before software could be completely installed
    Good luck!

  • Desktop Software won't install

The disc gives a message of 'Initializing' along with a status bar, but the software never opens.  Is there any help out there?

Do you have sufficient permissions to install software?  If it is a company laptop, this is often locked out.
You can try bypassing the splash screens - don't have the CD autorun (Hold your shift key down when inserting the CD and keep it pressed for about 5-10 sec until the CD drive quiets down), then explore the CD and go to D:\files\exec\bbinstaller and run the Setup.exe from there.

This is what my Desktop Manager looks like. I have seen a properly working one, it says Main Menu in the upper right, Options and something else in the upper left, and the PIN in the bottom left. I have none of these
Also the icons are pointless on my DM I cannot click them or do anything.
