Desktop Software 6.0 - Can not sync and cannot unistall

I did the upgrade and could not sync.  Forum said to un-install the older versions. BUT every time I try to unistall 5.0.1 or 6.0 I get this error:
ERROR 2738  could not access VBscript runtime for custom action.
Anyone know the solution.
Thanks
