Desktop Software 6.0 doesn't support Outlook

I've been syncing my BlackBerry for many months using USB tether and BlueTooth, just upgraded to BlackBerry Desktop 6.0.0.40 - and now cannot sync to Outlook.  When I go to configure synchronization, I only have two options: Yahoo and ASCII.
Running Windows 7 32-bit and Outlook 2007, w/ BB Curve 8330 on Sprint network.
Anyone else see this issue?

Desktop Manager won't "scrub" anything unless you tell it do so, of course you've posted very little detail of what you've done, so it's hard to say.
To restore your Address Book, use Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced and select ONLY the Address Book data and click on the center right-facing arrow to move that data to the device.
If that is not working for you, perhaps you can post some detail of what you see there.

  • Desktop Software 5 on Win 7 - no Outlook for sync

    Hello
had to re-install my laptop and went for Win7. Installation went fine and most of the s/w is working. So far so good. Installed BB Desktop Software 5.0.1 and got the error message during installation (as shown on the picture).
DS starts normally and detects my BB 8800. The only function that does not work is the sync with Outlook 2007. In the config box it does not offer the option to sync with Outlook.  Is the error and this related? What do I have to do to fix this? Already removed and installed DS again. No change. Outlook works fine and the installation finished without any error message.
    Thx for the help.

  • Desktop Software Manager hanging on sync with outlook

My Desktop Software Manager is hanging when I try to sync my blackberry with outlook. It was working with XP, but I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and now it is not. I have the latest version fully updated and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks.

Hello doctork91 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Do you get an error message during the sync or does the progress bar not seem to progress and no data is being read?
Can you provide the Outlook version you are using, the Desktop Software you are using as well as if your Windows 7 is 32bit or 64 bit?

  • Can't get Desktop Software configured properly to work with Outlook 2007 and Blackberry 8703E

I have a Blackberry 8703E and I have Outlook 2007 on my laptop. I keep trying to install the Desktop software but don't know what option to choose, how to configure it to recognize Outlook, etc. My goal is to be able to sync my contacts, appointments, tasks, etc. between the laptop and my Blackberry. I have no clue what I am doing or how to install and configure the software to work.
Also, I am going to uninstall the Desktop software and want to know what the link is to download the most current version that will work with my phone and my laptop (running Vista). I do not subscribe to the Blackberry service but only want to sync between my computer and the phone.
PLEASE HELP! I am not knowledgeable in this stuff and any detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks a bunch!
    Wade Rearic

Don't know if you got your answer by now, but thought I'd try to help.
First, let me preface by saying I use Vista, not XP, but my Outlook is 2007.
Next, you need to be careful as to which versions of the software you use both (a) on your Blackberry desktop and (b) on your Blackberry itself.  For example, I use the 8703e via Verizon, but so far the phone's software only goes up to 4.2, which is two iterations short of Blackberry's latest smartphone software.  Why do they do this?  Because they typically introduce the new software via a new phone via an "exclusive" with a certain carrier, leaving all other users to either salivate or switch to the "exclusive" carrier.  Over time (6 months to a year) the "new" software may get rolled out to patient users with (by then) "older" phones, but they clearly want to incentivize consumers to just upgrade to new phones via special carriers.
As for the Desktop software, it is easy to get tripped up here, as Blackberry's download site in not very intuitive for this.  Your problem could be that you downloaded and installed a Blackberry Desktop Software that is too advanced a version for your phone.  (To add further confusion, the desktop software tends to have version numbers similar to the the phone software, such as "4.2.")
Bottom line: call your help number of your carrier to get the correct info for both sets of software for your phone.
Once all the right software/drivers are installed, the Desktop interface si fairly user-friendly.  From a few choices you can backup your Blackberry data; synchronize it (if you are not already doing that wirelessly), etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • Desktop Software on Mac Doesn't Recognize PlayBook

I have my PlayBook in my hot little hands but can't get my Desktop Software to recognize it so I can start synching media. Running 2.0.1 Build 14 on my MacBook Pro. Any advice or suggestions?

I have desktop software v 2.1.0 build 24 for the Mac and I still can't get it to see my PlayBook.  In the log, I see the below, as if it still does not know what a PB is.  On the PB under Storage and Sharing, I've set the USB Connections to Connect to Mac.  I had previously been connecting via wireless and manually transferring files, if that would make a difference.  Anyone else having this issue?  Thanks.

  • Blackberry desktop software non vede profilo outlook 2013

BlackBerry Desktop Software, ver. 7.1.0.37 del 13/12/2012 (pacchetto 39)
BalckBerry Torch 9860, ver. soft. 7.1 pacchetto 2061
Outlook 2013 di Office Home and Business 2013 64 bit (installato da aggiornamento Office 2010 64 bit)
    Windows 8 64 bit
    Grazie
    Saluti

Unless it's Outlook that got upgraded? You were not clear about exactly what was upgraded...but, if it was Outlook, then that would indeed explain it...the upgrade took you to a version of Outlook that is not supported.

  • Error when configuring Desktop Software with Outlook 2007 Calendar

     Hello,
I am trying to find some help for a problem I'm having with a Blackberry 8100. I would like to use the Desktop Software 5.0 in conjunction with Outlook 2007 (on Windows 7 64 bits) to sync the calendar between the device and the computer. Actually I pretend to change Lotus Notes (which worked perfectly) for Outlook 2007.
The problem appears during the configuration process on the Desktop Software. I go to the configuration wizard for the calendar, choose Outlook, select bidirectional syncronization and then after clicking Next a small window appears (it happens also with both one-way options).
The window has Error as title and no other text, just an OK button. After closing it the wizard goes on asking for which Outlook profile to sync with. Unfortunately, the drop menu list does not show any profiles, it is completely blank.
I've tried creating, removing and renaming new profiles helplessly, as the error windows appears again and no profile is listed.
How could I solve it? Any idea would be appreciated.
    Thanks for your help,
    Roger

  • I downloaded new desktop software and try to sync with 8530 but wont sync to outlook contacts and calander

i had blackberry desktop manager on my work computer and use to sync with outlook perfectly. 2 weeks ago i did a backup then sync as normal. i lost over half of my 600+ contacts and alot of calander listings on my phone. tried to sync again from computer to phone and lost more contacts and calander listings. so i tried to restore from the backup and lost more data. i reinstalled software from the cd i recieved last year when i purchased the 8530. the desktop software would not find outlook and would not sync. i deleted softwaqre and just downloaded new blackberry desktop software. it still will not find outlook on my computer and will not sync.
any suggestions what i may be doing wrong on getting software to find and sync with outlook?

    Hey Bryanw,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
First check your default services on the device under Options, Advanced Options, default services.
If the default services are configured correctly I would suggest try creating a new MAPI profile as outlined in this article http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02083 and then reconfigure the Desktop Software as shown here http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17022
    Thank you.

  • Sync Problems between Blackberry 8330 and Outlook 2007 using Desktop software v 4.7

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 and I have been experiencing some problems syncing it with my HP Notebook running Outlook 2007.  I am using the most current Desktop Software version 4.7.  I am using the BB Internet Service and all of my email accounts seem to be operating well.  When I attempt to sync I receive the following errors in this sequence
Error 1:  Intellisync;  There are no applications configured for synchronization.  From the synchronize screen, go to Configure > Synchronization to configure the applications.
At this point, I attempt to follow the above instructions and configure the applications I want to Sync.  When I complete the above step for all applications, or each one seperately, I receive the following error:
Error 2:  Runtime Error;  Folder is no longer a part of the system data source or  the folder can not be found.
As I stated above, I receive the error for all 4 applications (Address Book, Calendar, Memos and Tasks) whether they are configured seperately or all at once.  I have unistalled the desktop software v4.7 5 times and Outlook 3 times. I am truly at a loss and in dire need of my Calendar and Contacts on my phone.  If anyone has come across this in the past or has any ideas, Please feel free to comment or reply.  Any info will be greatly appreciated!!!

  • Desktop Software Greyed out when connected to device

I just recently bought my first Blackberry Pearl. I installed the Desktop Software successfully & performed a synch with Outlook. The next day I went to do it again and when I connected to the computer (USB) the Desktop Manager goes from Disconnected to Working & grey’s out. I left it running for an hour & nothing seam to happen.
I contacted Verizon help by phone & the technician suggested removing the desktop soft ware & reloading it. I have done as suggested & I still have the same problem & now I also receive another message.
“This computer does not know its message account address. Either the messaging system is not configured properly or this messaging system is not supported.”
I am new to having a Blackberry so I would not be surprised if I did something in on the device.

  • Apparently Sync Manager is turned off for syncing my contacts and calendar to using Blackberry Desktop Software - how can I switch it ON?

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 a few months ago.
Up till then I was happily able to sync mac Contacts and Calendar to my Blackberry Curve 9320 via Blackberry's Desktop Manager (for Mac).
Since upgrading the software tells me to that Mac Sync Manager is turned off.  I know it isn't because everything else is syncing.
When I hunt through your support I find that there are solutions for this problem for other Mac OS versions but not for Maverick, so please tell me how I can once again use my business phone happily as I did before upgrading!
    Many thanks
