Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
You may need to do a clean uninstall but I would try a simple uninstall and reinstall of Palm software on your PC first. Be sure your device is disconnected from your computer for this process. Open your Control Panel on your PC and then go to Add/ Remove Programs. Remove the Palm (or PalmOne software). Once that is done go to http://www.palm.com/us/support/palmdesktop.html to download and install Palm Desktop.
Hopefully this resolves the issue but if it doesn't let me know. Also, contact me if you have any further questions or concerns about anything.

  • Can't download Blackberry Desktop Software Version 6.0.1?

    Hi,
I've just got a Blackberry Bold 9900, but only have Windows XP SP2 so cannot download 6.1.  When I select the download earlier versions section and go to download 6.0.1 it still brings up the page to download 6.1!
How do I get around this?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Hi Paul and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
Older versions of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software are not available for download.  BlackBerry® Desktop Software 6.1 requires Windows® XP Service Pack 3.  You can obtain Service Pack 3 by installing the latest Windows® updates.
    Thanks

  • Can't uninstall or install RIM Desktop Software

I had the desktop manager on my PC (Vista) and went through the steps outlined in the help areas of this website to uninstall it.   Now that I have deleted the files from my registry I get this error:
Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Blackberry_{EE59E38D-687D-4BBB-89CD-20EA7AEF1EF1E0}.  Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
When I try to re-install it...
    Help?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I can't specifically tell what you've tried and not tried, so I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Desktop Software installs but then fails to open

    Purchased BlackBerry today.
BlackBerry Desktop Software installs from distribution disc but then fails to open. Can see it in Windows Task Manager>Processes, as follows:
    Windows Task Manager>Processes
    Image Name: DesktopMge.exe CPU: 00 Mem Usage: 7,764 K
    Windows Task Manager>Applications
    Not listed!
I UNISTALLED previous installation of BlackBerry Desktop Software, including user settings.
Downloaded and installed the installation file for BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.7, “470_b050_english.exe”, but with same result. Uninstalled it, too.
As suggest elsewhere in this forum, I made directory as follows: C:\INSTALL\Blackberry
Then extracted the downloaded installation file for BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.7, “470_b050_english.exe”, into it.
Then started installation by clicking on “BlackBerrySetup.exe”.
However, the result is the same, as described above. BlackBerry Desktop Software installs but then fails to open.
Any help would be appreciated. I would like to make this software work.
    Is there alternative software available?

  • Can't install or uninstall Desktop software and Roxio Media Manager has taken over

I had been having trouble with the Blackberry Desktop software crashing each time I closed it when I was done using it. This morning when I booted my computer I got an error message that said RoxWatchTray9 was unable to locate component. When I tried to close that box it attempted to install something but it just stalls. When I close try to cancel it just freezes. After while it tries to install again only to freeze again.
I figured the best solution would be to uninstall and reinstall the program but when I went into Add/Remove I discovered six listings for Blackberry Device Software for Blackberry 9530 smartphone, one for v5.0 and five for v4.7.0. I finally managed to uninstall the v5.0 at the top of the list but I can't remove the other five. I also can't reinstall the program. Roxio Media Manager continues attempting to force an install and is hogging my system resources. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Try this process (you might have to do step 2 multiple times for each instance of what is showing in add/remove programs):
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/WIN7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.

  • Running/Installing Blackberry Desktop Software 6.0 or 6.1

I had been using version 6.0 to sync my phone with my PC but ran into problems until I upgraded a patch, I think, leading to version 6.1. Recently even that program failed to sync, so I removed the Desktop software from my computer and downloaded 6.0 again, hoping that the problem would be resolved. However, now, the software crashes upon start up!!!
Does anyone know what is going on? Is there an older version I can download? Or, is there something wrong with my computer?

  • Bold 8900 Desktop software 5.00 error 1316

Vodafone have replaced 2 defective 8900s and have now sent me a Bold 8900. This doesn't work with the desktop software I had installed for the 8900 (4.7)
I've tried installing ver. 5.0  but get error message 1316. Some one suggested I remove the 4.7 version but I also get error message 1316 when I try to remove that.

I have a Blackberry 8330 and have been trying to install the Desktop Software for sometime, but all I get is a dialog box titled Windows Installer and the only button available is "OK". • BlackBerry Desktop Software Is their a download for Mac desktop Os 10.5.8

    Hi
I was wondering if their is an archive within Blackberry where I could download a BlackBerry Desktop Software for my mac. I am useing 10.5.8, the new version is for 10.6 or higher.
    Regards
    Vintage Tec head 8088

This subject has been discussed on the forum already.
No earlier versions of the MAC desktop software for reasons unknown to us.
Indeed PC versions can be retrieved somewhere, I guess, but not for the Mac.
Only a possible reader of this forum could offer you his file if still an older version in his archive folders or something similar.
    Fingers crossed

  • Desktop Software Download...and nothing?

    Hello All,
Have just purchased my first BB and went to download the latest desktop software for my Curve 8830, and when my download and installation completes, there is nothing on my computer, anywhere?
It goes through the whole process of download and then installation like normal, and I get no icon, nothing is listed in my C: drive (where it says it's going to put it), not trace of any installation anywhere?
Have a toshiba laptop with Vista home...
Any ideas as to what I could do?
P.S.  I've removed everything, shut down, and tried it all again twice now, nothing seems to stick?
    Regards,
    Mark

    For Vista,
First we need to clean the machine:
     http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
    Install the correct USB drivers:
Blackberry USB and Modem Drivers ENG (DM4.6 B13)
    File size: 16.988 MB
    Date posted: 15-August-08
    Download Software
Install  4.6 with these Vista considerations:
    1. Right-Click on Command Prompt in Start Menu and choose Run as Administrator
    2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research in Motion\Blackberry\IS71 Connectors\MS Outlook Connector by typing: c:\> CD program      files\research in motion\blackberry\is71 connectors\ms outlook connector
    3. Then type in the command prompt, type: regsvr32 MsOutlookConnector.fil
    4. If the registration is successful, the following message displays:
    DllRegisterSErver in msoutlookconnector.fil succeeded.
    5. Close and open Blackberry Desktop Manager to perform the synchronization process again and Outlook will be in the list...
If you receive the error message DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005 - you do not have admin rights. So, it's important that you run command prompt as admin.

    Configure DM and retry sync.

Recently downloaded Desktop 6.1, what a mistake!
Can not sychronize data since desktop software needs to connect to the internet to configure MS Outlook synchronization options.

    What have I tried?
    Removed 6.1 install
Removed ALL registry keys associated with "Research"
Ran CCleaner to verify orphan registry keys removed
    Installed 6.1 after a clean/fresh download from blackberry.com
NOTE: Upon installation of new download Desktop came up verified new phone, process of setting up new phone, etc. Can not find Internet connection to configure settings for syncrhonization.
QUESTION? How is that I can browse the internet and connect to HTTP (port 80) and HTTPS (port 443) sites/pages et al but this software can not?
