Desktop Software can't find my old BlackBerry Curve 8330

I've never synced my 8330 with desktop software. I just bought a new 9330 and want to sync my calendar, notes, etc. onto it. I've loaded the desktop software, but it cannot detect my 8330 to sync. HELP!

Hi, i've been trying for a month now to get my 9790 to work on Blackberry Desktop software so i've actually got it backed up to the PC etc. But when ever i conect via USB it says "please conect device" i've gone through all the trouble shooting options & none seam to work/apply. I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
Further, it has also been reported that when your user profile on windows (type 'echo %userprofile%' in the command prompt) contains spaces, then the installer will not work. In order to solve this issue, log out of your Windows account and log back in using the local Administrator account (or any other account name without spaces) and install the desktop (for all users).
1) Remove any/all BB device OS update package(s) from your PC (add/remove programs)
2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM Desktop Software:

Some have reported the manual search and removal of RIM, BB, and Puma registry keys to be helpful...do not attempt this if you are at all unsure as editing your registry wrongly can render your entire PC useless.
Others have reported the use of a registry cleansing tool to also be helpful
Still others have reported the use of your original PIM (e.g., Outlook, NOTES, etc.) installation CD, running the "repair" process, to be helpful in some situations
3) Get a fresh download of the RIM Desktop Software:

4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
5) Install the Desktop Software to your PC
6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
7) Start the organizer configuration over:

Where can I find the old OS for my iPhone 3G?

Where can you find the old 3.1.1 software? (I assume that was its number)
The 4.0 is a disaster on mine. I still cannot get it to download any music. It keeps saying it cannot find the address. Yet iTunes plays the songs just fine.
At first my apps would crash everytime I loaded one. After the third time downloading the OS, they finally work. But this is the worst new OS update that Apple has ever given me.
I hope someone knows where I can find the old software because Apple doesn't publicize it.

Search your computer for a file with iphone and 3.1.3 (or 3.1.1 or whatever you were running) in the filename and an extension of .ipsw. It might also be in the recycle bin. You can't do anything legitimate with the file, really, but it would be good to hang on to. Usually iTunes saves a restore to previous firmware file, but unfortunately all the ways for downgrading back to it have been closed over time by Apple because people have been exploiting them to "modify" their phones. But if you can find the file, move it to your desktop or someplace and sit on it until you find a way to restore that you're happy with.

If you are just transfering purchased music then when you iPhone is plugged in, right click on the name of it on the left hand side of iTunes, click transfer purchased.
If you want to transfer all media from your iPhone to your computer, if it isn't all purchased through iTunes, then you are going to have to buy software that will do it.

If it was setup using your iPhone and your Apple ID then as far as the iCloud team will be able to find out, you set it up. Passwords cannot be retrieved.
Change all passwords on accounts associated with your iPhone.

Just to add to Paul's answer, the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (LV DSC) still distributing the libraries. After installing, you can go to 'Tools' menu and under the DSC Module, you can find the "Image Navigator" which launch the UI to choose the pictures.

There will be no backup, if it doesn't show up on your iOS device in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage.
