DESKTOP SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD ALWAYS GETTING INTERRUPTED

Hello,
I just acquired a Blackberry Torch 9860 and have been trying to download the desktop software to no avail.
The download is always getting interupted with the following message "710_b042_multilanguage.exe download was interrupted. This program is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer" When I click Resume a SmartSreen Filter Internet Explorer window opens with the message that "this program might harm your computer." When I press Run Anyway another window called 16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem opens with a message that "The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.....chose to terminate the application.
Please, help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
It sounds like you have a computer problem, not a BB problem. Maybe you have some virus protection on your computer blocking this? Maybe something else? It's a basic function...downloading files to your computer. Something on your computer is blocking this from happening, but digging into that needs a computer expert, not a BB expert.
Good luck!

  • Desktop Software Download...and nothing?

    Hello All,
Have just purchased my first BB and went to download the latest desktop software for my Curve 8830, and when my download and installation completes, there is nothing on my computer, anywhere?
It goes through the whole process of download and then installation like normal, and I get no icon, nothing is listed in my C: drive (where it says it's going to put it), not trace of any installation anywhere?
Have a toshiba laptop with Vista home...
Any ideas as to what I could do?
P.S.  I've removed everything, shut down, and tried it all again twice now, nothing seems to stick?
    Regards,
    Mark

    For Vista,
First we need to clean the machine:
     http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
    Install the correct USB drivers:
Blackberry USB and Modem Drivers ENG (DM4.6 B13)
    File size: 16.988 MB
    Date posted: 15-August-08
    Download Software
Install  4.6 with these Vista considerations:
    1. Right-Click on Command Prompt in Start Menu and choose Run as Administrator
    2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research in Motion\Blackberry\IS71 Connectors\MS Outlook Connector by typing: c:\> CD program      files\research in motion\blackberry\is71 connectors\ms outlook connector
    3. Then type in the command prompt, type: regsvr32 MsOutlookConnector.fil
    4. If the registration is successful, the following message displays:
    DllRegisterSErver in msoutlookconnector.fil succeeded.
    5. Close and open Blackberry Desktop Manager to perform the synchronization process again and Outlook will be in the list...
If you receive the error message DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005 - you do not have admin rights. So, it's important that you run command prompt as admin.

     On the BB:
Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min.
    Configure DM and retry sync.

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest removing the downloaded file and re-download the software from www.blackberry.com/desktop

  • Download always get a stub, I want the actual exe to save for other computers

I want the full copy of firefox not the stub. The stub seems to be for downlad and install. I want to save the full exe and then install on a number of computers. I have tried many ways to find the full exe but I always get transferred to the stub. Up to now I was able to get the full exe. Where have you hidden it? I have to be careful with download quotas and speeds.
I am using 25.0.1 Windows XP and have used firefox forever!

By the way, if you are on visiting the Firefox page and have the current version, the secret to finding that link is on the right side where it says "Download a fresh copy".
If you are visiting from another browser, below the large green button, there is a link labeled "Systems & Languages" that leads to the page with the full installers for all of the languages.
    Not obvious, I agree.

  • I took Mozilla Firefox off my computer and now I am trying to download the new copy and it always gets interrupted. what should I do?

I took Mozilla Firefox off and now I cannot seem to restore it. Message (while downloading) says download interrupted.

Try the download from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/, let me know if that works.
I'm curious as to why you removed Firefox in the first place?

  • Desktop Software Download for Blackberry 7290

I have just purchased a Blackberry 7290. I do not know which Desktop and Device Software to download. I have tried  Version 4 but it is going to take me 4 hours to download! Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I recommend downloading Desktop Manager 4.6.1 (without media manager) here.

  • My downloads always get stuck

    OS 10.10.1 - MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)
    2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Intel Iris 1536 MB
My downloads recently started timing out and not finishing while downloading via the Firefox browser. I thought maybe getting a download manager would fix the issue, so this led me to install DownThemAll. Problem still happens but at least I can click "Resume", which I couldn't do in the Firefox browser. My downloads never seem to finish and I constantly need to pause and resume them. This randomly started a week ago. I have uploaded a video where I narrate the problem thoroughly. It's about 2 minutes long.
Some notes I don't mention in the video:
    1) Happens in every browser and every download manager.
    2) Does not happen in Transmission when I download torrents.
    3) I've deleted the SystemConfiguration folder within Mac HD/Library/Preferences but it did nothing to help.

The sending and receiving of iMessages is dependent on an active data connection. If you are sending, the recipient has to have an active connection as well, and this can result in the behavior that you are describing. Try double tapping on the home button and finding the Messages app in the multi-tasking tray. Touch and hold the icon until it starts to wiggle. Tap on the minus sign to close it. Do a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, open the Messages app and try messaging again. You can try to message with one of your parents right there with you and see how that works.

  • IPhone 2.0 software download always fails

I use iTunes 7 on a PC running Windows XP Pro. Everytime I try to download and install the new iPhone software update, it goes all the way through the download process of 248.7 mg, then pops up an error message that says "There was a problem downloading the iPhone software for the iPhone 'myName iPhone'. The network connection timed out."
Anyone know what is really wrong?

Which is it, are you using 10.4.7 as it states in your post, or the 10.4.11 that is in your profile? If it is 10.4.7, you need to upgrade to 10.4.11.
Also, if you are running any antivirus software disable it while doing the update.

    hello,

  • Copy the file in Desktop Integration suite always gets Public security grp.

    Hi,
We are trying to integrate Desktop Integration suite for the users to drop files in UCM through the windows explorer. For users to drag & drop the file, we need to assign them to contributor role(which has RW on public security group) and which is causing the file to belong to public security group which can be seen or serached by everyone which we do not want. We would like to create a private group and should be the default group for the users where they can grag the files to. How can we do this without having to give them the contributor role? the one option we tried is, to force the metadata screen which defaults to a private group, but we do not want to popup the metadata screen everytime they upload the content, but would like to create the defaults for that private group like creating a default profile.
Please throw in your suggestions and appreciate any help in this regard.
    Thanks.

How can we do this without having to give them the contributor role?Do you mean a contributor role, or a role called 'Contributor' (which can contribute to Public security group)?
The former is not possible - a user that can check in a new item must have a contributor role. Note, that there can be many contributor roles - you can have a PrivateSGContributor role which has RW permissions to your "private group" and your users might be assigned this role (that's the latter option).
This is a security requirement, so forcing the metadata screen will not resolve it (there will be NO security group available - if it opens at all - and users won't be able to check in the content anyway).
In fact, if they are used to drag&drop, I'd rather assign the default security group at the folder level.

  • Auto Downloads always get "Invalid Signature"

There must be someone out there that has an answer to this. It only started happening within the last 6/8 months. I’ve tried the repair to the Apple Updater it doesn’t work for me the idea that it’s something to do with the wifi router can’t be as we have a laptop working ok (using W7)  It can’t just be Explorer as It won’t work with Chrome.  Could it be a Microsoft Problem?  The only way I‘ve managed to download iTunes is direct fom Apple by overriding blocked content and that only works through Explorer.

Try a search for similar issues and possible resolutions.

  • BB 9790 firmware download problem via Desktop software

Hi , i am using desktop software to download firmware 7.1 for BB 9790 and i always have a problem of the firmware download bombing out at around 95 percent of the total download, and the error says my i must check my internet but there is nothing wrong with my internet.
i have loaded the latest Desktop software but still get the same error, Help!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
You can bypass the Desktop Software automated download by, outside of the Desktop Software, first downloading, from the official download portal, the OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
Then, install that package to your PC. (If the package is from other than your carrier, you will need to delete the VENDOR.XML files.) Now run the Desktop Software and it should offer you this specific BB OS update.
    Good luck!
