Desktop Software getting stuck

Hi,
I've been trying to upgrade my OS to the new one but for that I need to backup all my data using the Desktop Software. But every time I try and do that, it keeps getting stuck when it reaches the 'Backing up Smart Card options'.
It just freezes and that's it. What do I do?

Desktop Manager keeps getting stuck during device backup. At the "Messages" backup stage it gets about 80% of the way through then just hangs there. It makes no further progress and thus does not complete a backup.
How do I resolve this issue?

MBA logs-in gets to desktop screen and gets stuck with a spinning wheel...

(I am not sure if this is the right thread for this -- MacBook Air 2009 version)
I can turn on, boot and get to the login window (personal accounts and guest account) and when I log in I get to the desktop and get stuck there with a spinning rainbow wheel for long periods of time till I force-shut-down.
I tried booting is Safe Mode and that seems to work perfectly. I have the computer running in Safe Mode now.
How do I recover it to boot normally? I appreciate your helpful responses in advance!

Hello my name is ben and im new user
as i download a trial version of Illustartor 5.1
i had few problomes first My menu's are unread able And showing script and not words

the second problome is when im trying the save any doc the software GET STUCK,
and i need to force quit.
i tryied to delete pref , and reinstall , and reinstall on desk , and reinstall again , and nothign work!
i would like to buy the app but it doesnt work good!
PLEASE HELP ME !
im using Mac os Lion 10.7.2
and when im using photshop or indesign , the menus are fine and can save any item?
why it happens only on illustartor?

IPhone 4 get stucked in animations in iOS 7.0.3

Hi everyone,
Since updating to iOS 7.0.3 my iPhone 4 get stucked in the transitions when:
- From lock screen, use de camera. The lock screen moves up a bit and then get stucked at some point
- In desktop, when using control center, it get stucked at some point when is moving up, it doesn't fully spread all the way
- Sometimes, when navigating between desktops, it get stucked in the middle of them.
I have made restoration and load my iPhone copy, everything is still the same?
Any other person with this issue?

I would close all applications in multitasking and power cycling the device. Once this is done test the results.

If you are still having trouble with the text appearing as you type after following those steps, you may want to try turning off Documents & Data under your iCloud settings. On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then tap to turn off Documents and Data.

Software Update stuck !!!

The Software Update on my iMac doesn't work! The progress bar (scanning the installed software) gets stuck almost at the end and I can't even click "cancel" any more. The program stops responding. I have to force Software Update to quit! I installed Leopard as an "erase and install" two days ago, so it's a fresh as OS...
Apart from that annoying bug, not being able to update I would like to know if it could harm my newly installed OS or the application "Software Update" when I force it to quit.

Try leaving it as long as you can. Sometimes, when the computer is installing/scanning stuff, and you start pressing around on it, it freezes. So try and rn it again, and leave it to do whatever, for as long as it needs to. If, say after 2/3 hours it is still not moving, then there is a problem.
Also, what type of internet connection do you have? If you're wireless, you may have some packet loss/disconnection that causes the download to time out?
I',m not sure, just throwing some stuff out there.

A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete.

I have updated to lion. Set up an iCloud so contacts and calendar are shared between iMac iPhone 4s and iPad 1. But iTunes is telling me to update the software on the iPad and iPhone, but it just gets stuck contacting the software server. What should I do

Somehow it seems to have worked although still not sure how to move stuff in and out of iCloud. iTunes is telling me to update the software on the phone and iPad. I cannot update or restore either the phone or the iPad in iTunes although I have synced the info. What should I do?

Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.

The configure bar gets about an 1/8 full and then just does nothing. I think its lists the update as combo update? cant remember with out checking.
I have tried to do the disk verify and repair but this has made no difference.
Please let me know what i need to do, I have reformatted the mac just to start over as was clogged with a lot of useless data, I had installed lion (10.7) from the app store previously and now cant seem to find a way to re install lion. I hope I dont need to pay for it again?

If you erased your hard drive, you'll need to reinstll OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to access the App store. You won't have to pay for OS X 10.7 Lion again. Did you try booting to the recovery partition by holding the command and r keys down? If that's still there, you can reinstall OS X 10.7 from there.
If you're looking to install the current iTunes, you need OS X 10.6.8 at a minimum.
If you're still trying to update OS X 10.5 Leopard, you can download the combo update from here. Download, use Disk Utility to repair permissions, apply the update, then repair permissions again. That will take you to OS X 10.5.8.

Quick Launch Desktop get stuck when scrolling Mavericks apps

Is just that, when scrolling horizontally to go to my other apps in the quicklaunch desktop, it get's so stcuked, that event splits the screen in half icons from the left side, and half icons from the right side. Anyone? (MBP 13' mid 2012)

I may not have explained exactly...so basically when i go to the main desktop screen, and open a program or use the dock, it sometimes gets stuck in show mode. Then when i go back to the safari full screen app for instance, the dock stays up, with the latest program highlighted. In order to get the dock to go away, i need to go back to the desktop and hover over the dock again for it to hide.
I really hope someone else is experiencing this because its very annoying and I want apple to fix it quickly

I just replaced my battery and now widgets are getting stuck in my desktop. Seriously! How do I fix this, it is so strange.

Widgets can be moved to the desktop if you accidently dismiss Dashboard while dragging the widgets from the widget "shelf." To remove these widgets, hold down the option key and click your mouse inside the widget -- an "x" in a circle should appear in the top left corner of the widget. Clicking the x will close the widget and remove it from your desktop.

Can't get Desktop software to show on PC :(

Hi - I've just "upgraded" my previous BB from the older wide style to the 7130v and am now trying to setup the Desktop software so I can transfer some ringtones to it. I downloaded the file from the phone supplier's site (Vodafone) and it seemed to run okay but all it did ultimately was to setup the software on the phone itself - I never got any icon or folder on my PC to run the desktop component. There were a load of other files that were of various versions, but no info on which one I should be downloading, so I'm presuming I need one of them but no idea which. That's my problem - it's not showing up in the Programs nor in the folder I installed it from, which is why I'm stumped as to how to get it show itself! Really frustrating. Even in the D&S/Application Data folder it only has a couple of entries for Loader history but no actual Loader in there either It never actually asked me where I wanted to install the program anyway, if memory serves me right, just went ahead and started connecting to the phone and updating the software, which is why I'm assuming it's the wrong program perhaps?
