Desktop software no longer recognizes 9630

I recently updated my sprint 9630 to v. 5.0.0.1030 (bundle 1675, platform 4.2.0.451). My desktop manager no longer recognizes the phone when I plug it in. My laptop rcognizes that the phone is plugged and it is charging the phone as well, but the software doesn't work. It keeps telling me that it is disconnected. When I run update for the desktop software it says I have the latest version installed. It still shows that my device software version is 5.0.0.983. I have turned off my firewall temporarily, rebooted the laptop, did a battery pull on the phone and nothing works. It still does not recognize the phone. What do i need to do to fix this?

I am having the same problem with my 9630 and laptop. HELP!!!!

  • Blackberry Desktop Software doesn't recognize my .rem files on my SD media card. Cannot sync them to my Mac.

    Hi,
I'm experiencing this problem where Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac 2.3.0 (build 12)  doesn't recognize my .rem files (video and photo) on my SD media card (the Desktop Software app does show that file space on the media card is being used). Therefore, these files cannot be synced, decrypted, and viewed on my computer. I can see them on phone. I do have mass storage mode turned on and I can see the .rem files in the video and photo folders when my phone is connected to my computer. I can copy them to my Mac but since they aren't decrypted, I cannot view them.
I'm going to buy a new phone and I need to get these files off my current phone.  I have a Tour 9630 with BB  OS 5.0 bundle 1600.
I've tried backing up, reformatting the media card, wiping, and restoring but nothing has worked.
Is there any kind of utility that will let me decrypt the files on my computer? Should I try Blackberry Desktop Software for Windows?
I'm hoping someone can provide some suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Hey jack_clarke,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Make sure mass storage mode is enabled on the BlackBerry: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB13564
If this is disabled you won't be able to access your media card from the computer.

  • Desktop software won't recognize 8350

    OK,
      New 8350, Desktop V6.0.1.18, Microsoft XP SP3
Connect via Bluetooth or cable (two different ones), every USB port.
Phone was recognized once and was able to sync my data once.  Since then I get the same error
BB desktop software cannot connect with device.  Device is either rebooting or has dead battery.
Interestingly BB desktop manager recognizes the blackberry device, XP device manager recognizes it.  All ports are powered with power management off.
I've done a clean install per KBxxxxx, done a battery pull.
I can't get the **bleep** software to work with the phone.  That's the whole point!

  • Desktop Software does not recognize Vista Desktop Software

My PC is running Windows Vista Home Premium. Blackberry is a Curve 8900 running OS 5.0.0.900. Desktop Software is v. 6.0.2.44 bundle 45. I recently wiped my PC and reinstalled everything, so this is a fresh install of Desktop Software. I use the Windows Vista native calendar, and am unable to get DS to recognize it. When I click on the organizer button (Select Organizer Data to Synchronize), the Calendar entry says "Not Installed". When I click "Configure Settings", I can choose Windows Vista Native Application as an option for the calendar, but on closing that window, the Calendar entry says "Not Installed" again. I know that I can sync my 8900 with the Vista calendar, as I was able to do it in the past. Not sure why it's not working now. Anyone have any ideas?

  • BlackBerry Desktop Software does not recognize my device

My problem is that when I plug my phone into my desktop computer by USB it will charge, but when I go to do anything to by means of BlackBerry Desktop Software the program does not recognize that my device is plugged in. This has been going on for months now that it will not sync, I just haven't desperately needed to sync my phone until now. I have tried pulling the battery and pulling the sim card. I have also tried other USB cords.

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

  • Desktop software does not recognize phone

I have downloaded the latest desktop software, connected my Torch 9800 and successfully synced calendar, contacts etc. with Outlook.  When I connect the phone after that, the software does not recognize the phone and will progress to the sync function. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the desktop software, and the same problem happened again.  I have tried the connectivity solutions suggested by the software without any luck.  The computer is recognizing the phone, but the software is not.  Any ideas out there?

  • My Software No Longer Recognizes My Players

+? I hope someone can help me wih this. I have a Zen Micro 6 GB, a Zen Stone Plus 2 GB, and a Zen X-Fi 8 GB. I love thema ll and they worked just perfectly.
Last week I uninstalled Norton 360 and installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (I am on Windows Home XP). I love it and it works great, except that immediately after I did this, my Creative software was no longer able to recognize the players. The Zen Micro Media Explorer remains grayed out. Creative Centrale and Creative Media Lite are acti've, but cannot detect their respecti've devices. I have tried everything, including wiriting to and calling Kaspersky. They assure me it is not the software. I have tried turning it off, and even uninstalling it. Whatever happened remains. I had all updates current. I tried searching for some sort of file to "allow", but I am not really sure what I am looking for. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response, and sorry for the delay on my end. This seemed to resolve my problem as well. I had no idea about a device manager. To find it, Right click My Computer, then click Manage, then find and click Device Manager under System Tools. In my case, my computer recognized the devices and the drivers, but still indicated a problem. So I finally uninstalled the devices (Right click / Uninstall), then installed them again. The X-Fi did not software for this. For my Micro, I used the original CD. I believe this all of the drivers and software are on the Creative site as well. I still have no idea what happened, but everything works and I am satisfied. Thanks for the lead.

  • Blackberry Desktop Software shuts down when running Sprint Smart View Internet Service (Air Card)

Just installed Blackberry Desktop Software and it runs ok when I am not running Sprint Smart View (This is my program for my internet service / sprint air card).  As soon as I start Sprint Smart View the desktop software no longer works and just shuts itself down after a minute or two.

I'm not familiar with this particular package, but with similar packages from other carriers there's usually a setting that lets the program control your Network - it may only say Wi-Fi.
The BlackBerry drivers include a Dial-Up connection which is probably getting shut down by the software which kills Desktop Manager.
If you turn off that option, the problem should go away (reboot probably a good idea).

  • Playbook will not connect with Desktop Software

Playbook won't connect with desktop software any longer. Seems to have started after latest update to 2.0. Still working fine with my Torch 9810, but not with the Playbook. I even tried reinstalling the Desktop software, but no go. Tried to "forget" Playbook, but now I can't even add it as a device any longer!

possible you need to uninstall Device Manager, not Desktop Software.
Disconnect the PB from the computer.
    Uninstall the Device Manager.
Reboot your computer (for good measure)
Connect the PB using the USB cable.
Now you should see a PlayBook CD-ROM.
In that CD-ROM you will find version 7 of the Device Manager, install it.
Once installed disconnect the PB from the computer.
Wait for about 15 seconds then plug it back in.
Windows should detect new device and start Device Manager. It may take up to two minutes for windows to detect and properly install.
Then device manager will map 'z' drive to the PB.

  • Blackberry 7.0 Desktop software not recognising Microsoft Office 2003

The Blackberry 7 Desktop software will not recognize my Microsoft Outlook 2003 contacts and calendar. How can I resolve this so I can Sync to my Touch 9860?

Hello PeterS and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear your BlackBerry® Desktop Software is not recognizing your Microsoft® Outlook® client.
For clarification, you are unable to select Outlook from the list when you go to configure they synchronization or are you unable to get just your Contacts and Calendar to sync?
Do you get an error message when you go to configure the sync for your Contacts and Calendar? If so, can you provide that error?
    Thanks!
