Desktop Software Sync Issues

Hello, I'm using a Blackberry 9700 running on os 6.. The problem here is that it cant be charged by the original cable and when connected to the PC it cant be detected by the Blackberry Desktop Software.. It just says "disconnected" and it wont popup so I cant sync... I know its not a problem with the cable or the port because it works with another Blackberry device here... any help would be appreciated thanks...
  Blackberry 9700 : os 6
  Desktop Software Version : 7.1.0.37
  Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit

You've narrowed it down.  Can you take the phone to an authorized repair center or check with your carrier?  If it works with another blackberry, the cable is fine.

  • Desktop Software sync'ing non-default calendar entries to Outlook

I just upgraded from a Curve to a Torch 9810.  I have two email accounts set up on it - my personal one and my work one (BIS) - just as I did on the Curve.  My personal one is the default in the Default Services.  I sync my BB to Outlook on my personal PC using the Desktop Software.  On the Curve when I did the sync, it only updated calendar entries associated to my personal email account (the default) to Outlook.  Everything I can find online indicates that that is the way it is supposed to work, and that is the way I want it to work.  I don't want my work appointments on the BB to be added to my personal Outlook calendar.  On this new Torch, though, it is sync'ing the appointments associated to my non-default work email to Outlook.  I tried changing the default service to my work email to see what would happen, but it still tried to sync the same set of (work) calendar entries.  I also tried clearing the calendar completely and resync'ing, but that didn't fix the problem.  Does anyone know why it is sync'ing the non-default calendar entries to Outlook and how to get it to stop?  Thanks!

Hello agiledogs and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you are having difficulties synchronizing your Calendar on your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9810 smartphone.
Just to be sure, if you go to Options>Device>Advanced System Settings>Default Services, your personal email account is listed as the default? (as this default is what is used to do the synchronize).
In the appointments that are not synchronizing over, does it say what service was used when creating it?
Does your Microsoft® Outlook® Calendar have the correct entries and you want to add them to your phone or does your phone have the correct Calendar entries and you want these to your Outlook®?
Let me know what the entries say.

  • BlackBerry Desktop Software Installation issue

    Hi All,
I have tried to Upgrade BlackBerry Desktop Manager from 3.6 to 4.7 version, and it is successfully upgrade to BlackBerry version 4.7. But the issue is, it shows both version in Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.
Note: After installation rebooted the PC
    Example:
Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs --> Currently installed Programs
    BlackBerry Desktop Manager 3.6
    BlackBerry Desktop Software 4.7
Kindly some please advice. Thanks... Shiva

the shortcut startup is the thing that adds (or not) the shortcut in the Startup menu, but the Desktop Manager starting at Windows start is stored in the registry.
I didn't bother to do all that, there is a clear option when you install the desktop manager that asks for automatic startup & automatic upgrade. I don't remember at which point (it's a shame, because I installed it less than 3 weeks ago and have already forgotten ! not eating enough fish), but it's there.
besides, I believe you can untick the option later, maybe in the Device Manager that is next to the windows clock.

  • Desktop Software Sync Calendar not installed???

I have always been able to Sync my BB 9700 with my PC using Desktop Software, but now after updating the software to 6.1.0.35 my calendar is not syncing. It actually says beside Calendar on the software that it is (not installed). This happened before but was able to get support from Rogers to fix it. Now they will not offer support and I don't recall how it was fixed. When I go to the Organizer on the desktop software and Select Calendar under Select Organizer Data to Synchronize this is where it says Calendar (not Installed). Can't find where to get it installed. Any suggestions?

Found some solution here that works for me:
You need to update your Blackberry settings. On the device (not on the Desktop Manager) go to Options -> Advanced Settings -> Default Services and select the email account for Outlook as your default calendar.
For some reason it selects other services, like Google or Facebook for the calendar by default.
After updating these settings on the device, you can go to Organizer -> Configure Settings on the Desktop manager and it should allow you to configure Calendar Sync this time.
    Hope this helps,
    Sincerely,
    Oleg.

  • Desktop Software SYnch Issue with Alarm Flags

Hello.  I recently upgraded my PC to Windows v.7.  As a result, I had to re-install my BB Desktop software.  The installation went fine, but the first time I tried to synch I had a problem with a conflict.  Apparently all of my appointments on my BB, alarm the flag is set to "true", while my MS Outlook is reading "false"  The BB resolution is defaulting to update both fields to the Outlook setting which is "false".
Does anyone know what this is caused by?  How to correct it?  or what the correct response should be in the conflict resolution?
    Thanks

  • Desktop Software syncing to Groupwise 8

Do anyone know when the Desktop Software will support Novell Groupwise 8?

    Thanks for the reply.
I assume the problem is for all Blackberry and Novell Groupwise users and not just those on the Enterprise Server.
I was not on the Enterprise Server before and synched via usb cable.

  • Desktop Manager sync issues: windows closes the program

I have Windows Vista and my BB Desktop manager is v4.5.  In the past 2 weeks I have been unable to sync my BB 8330 as windows closes the program after it compares the calendar in outlook and tells me I have an app crash.  I have read all the threads and instructions to remedy this problem, and have tried each solution, but to no avail.  I'm at a loss as to what to do now.
    Solved!

    Hi,
I have reread the entire post and I've got to tell you I missed the most important part.
Windows closes the program and Windows tells you there is a APPCRASH which is why there
is no reference to it in the knowledgebase.
Here is the correct forum: Microsoft Windows Vista Support
We will be glad to work with you on the Blackberry program side, this is a Vista error.
There are also many references to it on Google.
Let us know how it goes!

  • New release desktop software sync problem

Having downloaded the new deskup software, and made sure that it notifies me of any conflcts in sync-ing the blackberry and Outlook 2003, it now tries to delete anything new added to Outlook that it is not yet on the blackberry. It notifies me of all the conflicts but doesn't give me an option to stop it deleting all the new additions individually. So  I can sync but only if I allow it to delete all new Outlook appointments.
    Any ideas?

If Outlook has the appointments as you want them, I think a one-way sync from Outlook to the BB should (with the right options selected) remove all the BB appointments, and then put the Outlook appointments there.
Alternatively, you could use the advanced backup/restore (I can't remember if the new version still has that or not - the machine I'm on still has DTM 5.0 on it) to wipe the BB calendar data, then do your sync.

  • How to import old Palm Desktop Software (sync with Treo 650) to New Computer ?

Running '07 version of Palm Desktop - Calendar/Contacts etc. on old computer.  Copied data & files into folder and placed on desktop of new computer.  Installed new version - Palm Desktop by Access onto new computer (Windows 7) & tried to import data from folder - no go.  Still have old computer and could save to disk - but not sure how to go about procedure.  Or, is there an older version of Palm Desktop available to download on new computer that will allow importing of data from folder?  Help !!  Thanks.
Post relates to: Treo 650 (Cingular)

The best way is to install the Palm desktop version you had with your device and hotsync. If your device is still working install the Palm desktop to your new computer and run a hotsync with the conduits set to handheld overwrites desktop. If your new computer is a 64 bit version of windows 7 read the post 64bit drivers are here. This post has the liink to the driver and install directions. Aceeca 64bit driver

  • Stupid BB Desktop Software?!

    Hi all!
Well, the heading sums it up
I am having endless problems with the BB Desktop Software hanging, crashing, pulling my PC to a standstill and asking me for confirmation EVERY time it syncs!!!!
I am really so worked up about this, 'cause I took the bold decision to get a BlackBerry Torch 9800 - upgrading from my Nokia N97. The BB have so-far rebooted about 6 times in a week (saying something about a error and then asking me to click on 'ok', otherwise NOT accepting calls, thus I need to inspect the **bleep** phone every 10 minutes!!!).
The Desktop Software syncs about 50% of the time, but the rest I need to REBOOT the computer, so some services can be restrated. What the HELL!!!!!
Sorry for doing this again, but the N97 and PC Suite have not messed me around like this in two years, I did NOT have to inspect my N97 (which is not the most stable Nokia out there )every ten minutes , and the PC Suite was a breeze on my PC, syncing automatically everytime my phone got into Bluetooth range. The BB Desktop Software crashes half the time I connect (USB AND Bluetooth), and it just gets the better of me.
Can anyone help out here, as this is the worst experience I've had with the 'Mobile office solution' called BlackBerry
    - a Upset user

You left out a couple key details.
On your BlackBerry Desktop Software, what is the version of the app installed, by clicking on the ? at the top right corner?
What is your Operating System loaded to your device? Look at Options > > Device > About, third line down beginning with a "v.6.0.x.xxx", What is yours?

  • How well does the Blackberry desktop software work on a Mac

I have friend who syncs his BB 8830 a lot on his current PC. He his considering a switch to a Mac and wanted to know how well the BB desktop software works on a Mac. How would you answer that question?
Will the BB desktop software sync calendars and contacts best with the Mac Mail and Address Book or does it work better with MS Office 2011?
    Thank you for looking.

  • I need the old Blackberry Desktop software 6.1 for PC Urgently!!!!

I upgraded to the 7.0 software as prompted by the auto-upgrade setting. But it did not work for me! It was stuck at the last step forever. I did it over again 3 times, and it did not work. I restart the computer, recovered my system to a few days ago. And my 6.1 software was still not working. It showed an error.
I went home, bring out the installation disc from my Torch package. But it was a mini-CD and point me to download the 7.0 software!  Every attempt to reinstall or repair the old 6.1 software were "Rolled back".
I have never been so ferious with Blackberry EVER!

If I remove the new version 7, should I try to reinstall a prior version from the link above?  If so, which one?  I have a BB9700.
From your PC > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, remove your current BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Reboot your PC (Start > Turn off , etc)
Upon startup, download this file:  610_b034_multilanguage
Install that file by double-clicking on it and following the prompts.
Now, try your normal sync. You MAY need to setup your Desktop Software SYNC parameters to Outlook again as before.

  • Major Sync and software update issue with windows 7 and iphone

Loved my iPhone 3g and love my 4.0! My only concern is syncing and software updates are sporadic.
When I first purchased and sync'd my 3g on my laptop, that I had since 2005 w/XP home 64bit, it would constantly (1 out of 5 times) show phone was disconnected and could not sync. Purchased a desktop, 2009 w/Vista 64bit (same issue mentioned continued) then upgraded to windows 7 64bit (same issue mentioned continued).
Both pc's are authorized and contain the same apps and software. I went through all trouble shooting steps (authorize/deauthorize, phone hard boot, sync w/airplane mode on and/or off, uninstall and or reinstall iTunes, etc...) when both phones would brick after software updates on both pc's.
The last software update 4.0 and most recent 4.2.1 went well on laptop with XP and no longer shows sync issue. The problem continues on the windows 7 and backup has completed successfully 3 times.
Long story short, I have to pray the laptop never dies because iTunes, syncing and software updates on XP works now! The problem with software update, backups and syncing persists on windows 7.
    * I was able to apply 4.2.1 software update on XP and then connect to windows 7 to sync and backup successfully. I then disconnected/reconnected iphone to windows 7 and problem happened again, unable to sync phone was disconnected error message.

I've had my new pc for over a year, never had any probs syncing my iphone (then a 3G but now the big 4!)
I went to sync updates to Apps and a couple of tunes I had downloaded straight to my phone only to get an error message 'iTunes has stopped working - windows is checking the problem' followed by another messaged telling me there was a problem causing the program not to work correctly. Windows will close the program and notify me if a solution is found'
Well..... I have NO music on my iPhone and every time I try to sync, the same error messages come up and the bloody program shuts down....
