  • Syncing BB Q10 with Mac

I am trying to sync my MacBook Pro with my BB Q10. I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop software and received this message -- HELP
"This blackberry device is running the BB 10OS. Blackberry Desktop Softwear donesn't support the BB 10 OS . Visit BB support to learn how to sync yur media files , back-up with your device"
all i want to do is scyn my Berry with my laptop including my gmail, Outlook calendar , contacts etc.
    HELP!

I can tell you that you need Link for BB10, not Desktop Software (what was called Desktop Manager).
Get Link and see where you stand. I can't help with syncing, though.

  • Wont send texts or make calls?

My blackberry got a "RVM error 343" so I downloaded the desktop softwear, connected my blackberry and updated all settings. This allowed me to access my blackberry and when i put my sim card in i could send and receive texts fine but I didn't have blackberry messenger, so I connected it back up to the computer and added messenger onto the applications. So now I have messenger but I can't do anything at all on the phone - calls "fail", texts pend for a while then just fail. I tried wiping everything but it doesn't do anything, I also tried reconnecting to Orange but that didn't do anything either. The sim card works fine in my other phone so I know it isn't a problem with the sim card or Orange.

    Hey kaayxx,
You can try using the following article to do a reset to factory on your device, http://bbry.lv/a0QXmX. Before you do the reset to factory you can backup your device using this article http://bit.ly/aSediX. Once this is complete test again before restoring your data to see if you are able to make calls and send text messages. If this does not work then you are going to want to contact your service provider to see if they need to enable a setting on the SIM card to make it work.
Let us know how you make out.

  • App loaded but no icon

Hey all, I hope you can help.
I recently added the MyAlarm app. I used my Desktop softwear. The icon for the app appeared in my 'downloaded' folder, and I tried to move it to the homescreen.
    The icon disapeared.
It no longer exists anywhere. I can find it under the list of 3rd party apps in settings, but I cannot use the app from there. Acording to desktop softwear, it is on the phone. I have deleted and re-uploaded it, and still the icon is non-exisitant.
Can anyone help me understand 1) what I did,   and 2) How to fix this?
    Thank you!
    ~Ashley

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not giving me a 'show all' option. I can only find the downloaded application through the settings menu. It says that it is there and downloaded, but I can't get it functioning.
    Any other suggestions?

I am totally confused. You posted in the iMac forums.  If your problem is with an iMac, we need to know what your iMac shows as to how much space you have left and how large your HD is.  This info can be found in Disk Utility and/or at the bottom of a Finder window among other places.

Normally the system will recognize that a PCI video card is installed.  First check the BIOS and set the video to accept the new card.  BTW: what Windows version is installed?

hello my blackberry curve 8520 screen has gone white and funny  circle icon has come up with reload softwear 552 at bottum of screen what do i do as it wont do anything ive tried battry pull and turned back on and it still brings that up
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It seems that you have not installed the correct blackberry software for your device, or might be select the incorrect carrier for your blackberry handheld. You need to download the correct blackberry software with your service provider and before installing the software, disconnect your BB device from the computer and then install it with proper administrative privilege.
After installing the software on your computer, make sure to hard boot your blackberry handheld before connecting it to your computer. If the same problem persists, then use JVM Loder to complete wipe your blackberry device memory then connect with the desktop manager and install the software.
    Good luck..!!!

  • New softwear and now ipod works on its own

I have a ipod, 3rd generation, which i just loaded with most current softwear and now it runs on its own.  I mean I won't be touching it and it is moving and playing music, jumping from song to song....also can no longer use WiFi - what happened...its never done this before on an upgrade....

Grey text when you look at the content and a lock symbol at the bottom of the screen just indicates that the iPod is set to update automatically (sync). An iPod that is set to update automatically will also disconnect automatically once it is finished syncronising with iTunes.
If you want to access the iPod directly, delete songs from the iPod, drag songs from iTunes etc. you need to change the update setting to "manually manage songs and videos. If you want to manage it manually then connect your iPod and click on the iPod icon in the iTunes source list to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. In the Summary tab check the box "manually manage music and videos" and click Apply:
    Managing content manually on iPod
    iPod 101: Fill 'er Up
Something to remember about using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on the desktop and check this link for alternative methods:: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • PhotoShop CS2 Bridge caused strange loss of desktop visibility/memory ??

I have a G5 (Duel) running Tiger 10.4.6. Just lately the Bridge in Photoshop CS2 has not been working too well - it became very slow and sometimes didn't "see" my images. Yesterday I could get it to find my image folders at all. Then all my desktop started to look weird - even when I wasn't using the Bridge. So I closed all the applications and restarted the computer. To my horror all my desktop and preferences (dock, safari, desktop picture, folders etc.) had been lost. At first I thought I had somehow lost all my image folders but using spotlight I found them all there - distribted in places I had never put them. I sorted everything out again and re-did all my customised stuff but it was scary! At no time did the computer give me any warning of any trouble. It did not crash or anything. I was running QuarkXpress 5 (classic 9) as well and had a Skype window open (although I wasn't using it to talk at the time) Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this happened - has it happened to anyone else ? Thanks for any help.. Diana

    Hi jamba,
I think the issue is that your output of lspci shows no Audio device. Perhaps it got disabled in the BIOS? dmesg output may indicate something else afoot with your audio hardware.
    Hope that helps.
I'll check out dmesg output.  also still need to check if something got disabled in the BIOS.
!snd_intel8x0m  <- is your problem. Your sound module got blacklisted so un-list it. Modprobe it then try sound again or just reboot and it should work.
moonswan.  snd_intel8x0 is the sound card (I think), in the alsa wiki it said it was recommended to blacklist snd_intel8x0m as a quirk fix.
No sound with or without it blacklisted still :-(
    thanks

  • Download error in (osx) adobe desktop app (corrupted download link).

Here is a discription of the problem. Please consider that some of the wording might not be correct, as I do have to translate the error message from German into English.
Using OSX 10.9.2, when clicking inside the adobe desktop app (top of the screen bar) on the tap "apps", the following screen (screenshot) appears, which states, translated from top to bottom:
    download error
    download error. Please contact support.
    (link) contact support
(link/button) download creative cloud -> This button unfortunatly leads to the following error page "http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html"
All apps, like Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. are installed and work just fine. So no problem here. I seem however unable to redownload the desktop app (in order to reinstall). As stated above the provided link inside the desktop app itself is coruppted and within the (online) web-based download centre (user logged in) I am only adviced to use the desktop app. This is a dead end and I do not know what to make of this error, let alone solving it. Please help!

I am sorry Romsinha but this doesn't really help.
I already restarted the desktop app and while I am obviously online and connected the problem (error message) remains the same. Information within the "home" tap is recieved/loaded  (little blue spinning wheel) stating that various apps recently have been updated. Yet the same loading wheel within the "apps" tap results in an error. My best guess is that some internal link within the app is corrupted, leading to a source on a server that can not be reached.
    UPDATE
I clean uninstalled adobe creative cloud as discribed in the article you provided (using the cleaner tool) and even uninstalled the browser plugin. After downloading and reinstalling creative cloud the problem however remains the same. "Apps" tap still shows the same problem. "Home" tap now displays the following:

We don't know what Apple plans on doing to change this (and it may not be just Apple but more likely the publishers, since Apple would, of course, do whatever it could to maximize sales/profits).  Right now you can only read Apple books on mobile devices. Sure, buy them from Amazon if you want to read them on the computer. We don't work for Apple so we're pretty impartial on this kind of advice.

  • I can't save downloads to documents folder, only to desktop...

Only desktop saves are allowed.  The message states, "Word cannot save or create this file.  This disk may be full or write protected..." The disk isn't full, so I'm not sure what to do.  I'm having to save everything to the desktop and then move files into document folders in Finder.  Any advice on how to save directly to documents or what may be wrong?   Thanks so much!.

    Back up all data now.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote it back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
