Desktop version showing on phone

This page seems to respond fine at all three width breaks on a desktop browser, yet on my android phone, the mobile version isn't coming up.

What could I be missing? The other pages of the site are working fine.

You need to put the mobile meta tag in the <head></head> section of your page (like it is on your other pages):
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

  • Will desktop version display on phone

As usual I have ploughed through acres of search replies but as usuqal none of them answer a simple question. Will a desktop design on tablet and phone.

A reason that it could be displaying text  and no images is file size of images. A mobile connection is not as fast as a normal connection therefore images may take longer to load on a mobile device. Bu they should eventually come up.

  • I want the phone version of my site to use the same url as the desktop version. How can I do this without the "phone" extension in the url?

How do I get the phone version of my site to use the same url as the desktop version -- without the "phone" extension.  when someone posted a link to my site, they posted it from their phone and it included /phone. Now when people click on it - - it goes straight to the phone version of the site.

  • The desktop version of my website homepage shows the phone version...

    Hi,
The customer has agree to push the site live with the desktop and the phone versions which worked perfectly.
But, until the site is live, when we connect with a pc or a mac, the site shows the phone version of the site.
Someone has an idea of the problem ?
Thanks (and sorry for my english)...

I have resolved the problem by duplicate the website and delete the phone version then replace the elements on a new telephone version.
I hope that will always works.

  • PC Recognizes phone but Desktop Manager shows disconnected

New laptop running Windows 7 64-bit.  Version 6.x of BB Desktop Manager loaded.  First time phone is plugged in, it is recognized and Sync for Calendar and Contacts configured and executed successfully.  After that, any time the phone is connected to PC, it correctly maps drive to device and I can see the files on the phone from the PC, but Desktop Manager shows disconnected.  It shows phone, model, pin, and all the right information, but still shows Disconnected.  Sound familiar to anyone?  Any help?

  • My Muse tablet site shows the desktop version. Why?

How can I make the tablet version appear on my tablet?.  Presently my kindle fire tablet shows the desktop version.

I don't know "why" this might happen, but a simple fix is to put small text on your home page: "Classic - Tablet - Phone" with links for each to the desktop, tablet, or phone sites. Once you open the wrong version on your tablet, just click the proper link (as in tablet), and the site version will reset itself properly. Next time you come to the tablet site, it will display the tablet site version. I now put these small type-links on every home page I design.

  • Why does the Phone Version appear as desktop version when it is online

I designed a website in Adobe Muse. I also did a Phone Layout. Now the site is online. On the phone the site opens in the phone Layout but after using the navigation the site changes to the desktop version, which is not readable on the phone.
What can i do to make the Phone version run correctly?

sounds like you need to update your navigation so the buttons are linking to the phone versions of the pages rather than the desktop ones?

  • Desktop version 6 not finding phone after downgrading from the not working version 7

OK, so I STUPIDLY accepted the desktop version 7 update notification and downloaded and installed the new version, only to be reminded that I had done that before, had problems and had to downgrade.
Months ago I had problems, and spent hours of my life trying to work out exactly how to downgrade back to version 6, after losing many hours I eventually got it all working and everything was fine until my moment of stupidity the other week.
I now find myself back to not being able to get it to work.
I have searched the forum and all I can find is thread suggesting what I have done...
    Where I am now....
I uninstalled version 7, reinstalled version 6.1.0.35 (the version that was working, for which I had the zip install file for on my pc after I had the problems earlier in the year)...
Tried to get it to work, with no success...
So I have tried to uninstall version 6.1.0.35 completely, turned off the pc, restarted the pc, reinstalled version 6.1.0.35, turned off the pc, restatrted the pc, tried to get the software to find the handset
    No joy!
Anyone wish to point me in the right direction before I completely lose the plot??!!
I want version 6.1.0.35 installed and finding my phone, and syncronising, like it was before I accepted the update to version 7 by mistake!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    SOLVED IT!
OK I've persisted, yet another uninstall and reinstall and no luck... but then I thought to look at the device manager and get windows to update the software. Driver updated, everything now works...

  • Tablet version of the site still showing up instead of desktop version in Google Chrome

I know that there is already a thread on this. It has been marked as answered. The answer details how the bug had been fixed and to apply the update. Another solution said to clear the browser's cache, restart, and reload. Neither of these solutions apply. My copy of Muse is up-to-date (2014.3.1.44). I reset my browser cache. Google Chrome still pulls up the tablet version of the site on my desktop.

    How a desktop/tablet/phone redirect works...
Let's say you go to www.yoursite.com. In that case the redirect looks at attributes of the viewer's device and elects to display the desktop, tablet or phone layout (assuming all three have been created).
Once on a page of the site a site viewer may click on a link on the page to view a different page of the site. If that link goes to a page that's part of the same rendition (desktop, tablet or phone) then that rendition of the page is displayed. If instead the link on the page explicitly directs to a different rendition either of the same page or a different page of the site (for example clicking on a "Go To Desktop Site" link when on a tablet or phone page) then the link goes to the targeted rendition. Once on that rendition, let's say for example the viewer is on their phone and was viewing a phone page and clicked a "Go To Desktop Site" link. In that case they're now viewing a desktop page on their phone. If they click a link on that desktop page for another page in the site, what should happen? Since the viewer explicitly clicked a link that transitioned to the "desktop" viewing experience, Muse will keep them on the desktop site. That's achieved by setting a "device lock" cookie in their browser so the normal redirect to a phone-specific page is ignored.
A best practice is to include a "Go To Desktop Site" link on your phone pages and a "Go To Mobile Site" link on your desktop pages. That way the site visitor can select the viewing experience they prefer and easily switch between the two. Conversely, all other links on the site should avoid linking from one rendition/layout/device to another. They should stay on the same device layout unless the name of the link clearly indicates to the site visitor they will be "going to a different rendition/layout" of the site.

  • Muse displaying desktop version on tablet and phone

As I developed a website and published it on Business Catalyst <http://cq-build-026.businesscatalyst.com/>, the correct version of the website would be presented on a desktop computer (MacBook Pro), a tablet (iPad) and a phone (iPhone).
But this morning I pointed our domain name <www.cq-whatsyours.com> to Business Catalyst, and now the desktop version is being served to all three devices.
As a temporary solution, I've add <Tablet> and <Phone> buttons at the bottom of the desktop home page, so the viewer can jog things to the device-appropriate pages, but this is obviously not a great long-term approach.
I attempted to search the forum for background on this, but there seems to be quite a nest of information that is hard to unravel
Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bradley

    Thanks Sanjit,
Yes, working now ... I think it was a cookie issue — once on the desktop version, stuck on the desktop version. I suspect that it was clearing cookies that did the trick but am not positive.
Appreciate your response and your good responses to previous questions.
By the way, sure wish I could pin things on tablet layouts. Might be an iPad vs other tablets issue, I don't know.

  • SVG image does not appear in mobile version but does in desktop version

    Hi,
I am new to using Muse and have created only one site before in Muse. I have taken screenshots to show the problem I am having.
I have used Illustrator to create the following logo image that I save out as an SVG file:
As you've probably guessed, I have used clipping mask to insert the marbly purple image into the shapes and text (this may be relevant to the problem, I don't know).
I then save it out as an SVG with the following details as advised by Adobe:
Then moving into Muse, I File > Place the SVG file. 'Unable to generate thumbnail' comes up in both desktop and phone versions:
Regardless, I uploaded to FTP post to my website. While the SVG appears perfectly on my desktop browser, it does not show at all on my phone browser:
This is not only happening on my phone, I have visited the same website on multiple phone devices and still the SVG image does not appear. Any ideas why this is happening?
Have I totally missed something about file formats for mobile browser versions in Muse?
Also- in illustrator, I saved the SVG logo for the mobile version as a SMALLER SVG than the one I saved for the desktop version.
    Thanks

Use a PNG file. I see nothing in your logo that would warrant using anything else. You're not scaling it, there is no interaction and all you are doing is masking out some data that is pixels already. Pardon me, but using an SVG makes no sense at all. Beyond that one would need to see the file, but my guess would be that the "responsive" setting once again embeds some garbage data. Wouldn't be the first time...

  • Search picks up desktop version rather than mobile version of website on smartphone

    Hi
ive ive recently added a mobile version of my muse website. However I've notiiced that when searching for a freelance creative artworker and selecting my site www.paulsutton-artwork.co.uk on my android phone, it's loading up the desktop version and not the mobile version?
    im confused!
could anyone shed any light on this please.
    many thanks
    paul

    HI
thanks for your reply, however I'm not clear on what you mean.
ive typed in the domain name on my smartphone and it's bringing up the desktop version. I've checked again doing a search for Freelance Creative Artworker and when I see my URL I click on it but it's still bringing up desktop version.  The only time it brings up phone version is if I type www.paulsutton-artwork.co.uk/phone/index?
id also like to add that as a test I published my site via bc. Strangely enough if I type in the bc URL on my phone it loads up the mobile site, so it appears to work on bc. So does this look like it's something to do with way files are being uploaded to be web host?  I've also read someone had a problem with a htaccess file?
ive ive now tried uploading all files via FTP. Still the same result. I've notiiced that my phones URL is now showing www.paulsutton-artwork.co.uk/index.html?devicelock=desktop
can someone please help me with this as I'm tearing my hair out!
    thanks again

  • Gmail attachment pics saved on desktop only shows 1 pic. the original email had 20 pics.

gmail attachment pics saved on desktop only shows 1 pic. the original email had 20 pics.

Well, as usual with any new release, there will always be issues. No one is perfect and Apple is no different. At least the important functions work for me (phone, browser, ipod). I've already submitted this issue as a bug so hopefully in the next firmware version, it will be fixed. I've heard they're testing a 2.0.1 version but not sure if that would include this fix.
As for removing that picture from your phone, I'd connect the iPhone to a computer and then delete it directly from the iPhone. I haven't tried that on mine but it might work. When I connected the iPhone to my computer and transferred it, it was the exact same size as the one I sent in my email. I haven't had the issue your experiencing though but I have the 1st generation iPhone, running the 5A347 firmware build. If you have the 3G, could be limited to the new phone or the older firmware on the 3G phones? (I think they came with 5A345 out of the box). Maybe a restore is in order or just wait for the 2.0.1 version to come out. Hope this helped.

  • Right way to copy desktop version for tablet and mobile

    Watching this video       http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/adobe-muse-designing-for-mobile-devices/
would seem that copying from the desktop version to tablet or mobile, you copy all the contents (texts, images, slide shows etc..).
But i doesn't work. May  I have to totally rebuild manually tablet and mobile versions or is possible copy the entire site and then, if i need , make changes in each release?
    many thanks in advance

Sad!  Could be of great help for us develop the function to automatically copy all the contents.
We would avoid to rebuild the site 3 times and we would re-design only things to change.
    Many thanks for your reply
