Desktop viewing - I can't see the bottom part of pages

hi, when i load a program, e.g. garage band (not safari that works) it doesn't allow me to see the bottom of the screen - like the page is too big or it's been stretched, this means i can't get access to some of the major controllers. I've went through the system preferences and I can't work out how to put it back to what it was, i.e back to being able to see the whole screen or at least having a scroller. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Couple things:
If the screen is zoomed then hold down cntl and scroll down with the mouse or trackpad.
If you've changed screen resolutions lately then in System Preferences > Displays > Display tab > scroll down the resolution list and select the bottom most entry. (the highest resolution ### x ###). Resize you apps then return it to whatever resolution you desire.

  • Can't see the bottom of itunes page

When I open iTunes I can only see the bottom of the itunes page when I open it as a full page screen. Are there any ways I can change this?
    Many thanks.

    James,
Try moving (click and drag) the bar at the bottom of the playlists up making that area smaller. The songs should show up under it.
    Hope this helped!

I knew I'd seen the solution you've provided somewhere - either in MacWorld or MacFormat - but couldn't remember the Gatekeeper bit!
I shall save it somewhere VERY safe now in case this happens again …
You have made an old man very happy and saved me from worrying that senile decay had suddenly set in. (I was 70 last week so you might understand the situation from that.)

  • Can't see the bottom of my notification center with IOS7 on iPhone 5

Can't see the bottom of my notification center with IOS7 on iPhone 5.

hello ovidelu2006, other users with this problem all had an embedded intel hd3000 graphics card with an old driver present. in case this also applies to you, here would be a link to update the driver, which in turn should also address the black firefox problem: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23764 (for win7 64 bit)
in case this doesn't solve the issue or does not apply to your system, start firefox into safemode '''by pressing the shift key while the application is launching''' & disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

  • Can't see the bottom of Photo Booth

Suddenly I can't see the bottom of Photo Booth to delete photos I don't like. The toolbar at the bottom is in the way. Making the toolbar smaller doesn't seem to help. This is a recent problem. It wasn't happening before. Did I do something to make this happen? Can I fix it? I'd appreciate any tips!

    HI Patty...
    Try deleting this file. com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
BTW, you posted this in the Safari for Mac forum.
I'm going to ask a host to move you thread to the Tiger forum.
Also, please click My Settings on the right side of this window and type in which Mac you have, scroll down and click Save. Thanks!

Hi Dan - I'm not sure I know what you mean by 'kick in Expose', can you please explain?
It's a weird one as it doesn't happen all the time.  Could it have anything to do with running Apple TV and the MacBook 'thinking' there is another display (extended desktop) and playing the video there?

  • The options window is too large when it opens- i can't see the bottom-most options!

when i select options in Tools, a window opens, correct?
this window is too large for my browser. i cannot see the bottom of the window!

'''Size..Optimize..Restore''', are the only choices. I started FF in safe mode and was able to make the changes I needed. Move " doesn't help at all.
Being able to make the changes in safe mode leads me to believe one the the plug ins from the FF site is creating the issue...It's just way to large to move it so the bottom can be seen....Thanks for your attempt and time. :)
Oh..another thing. At times the top tabs are visible, and at other times, the bottom is visible.

  • Can't see the bottom art of the finder window when...

    Hi,
I am using a Macbook Pro 15.4" screen and for some annoying reason each time I "Save As..." or "Open" or anytime an application opens a finder window, the window bottom part goes under the dock which means that I can not use or see additional functions. I took a screen shot but can not attach it.
I tried to minimise/ maximise the window, expanding etc and nothing seems to shrink the window to fit between the dock and the top tool bar.
    Thanks
    Mic

  • When maximized, I cannot see the bottom part of the window, for example, i can't see the "down arrow" on scroll bar on the right side. Is there a way to fix it?

This also means that i can't really see the website address when i hover over a hyperlink.

It is probably broken. You can try restoring it using Recovery Mode, but if that fails its time for a new phone. After all, it is 4 generations out of date. See: Recovery Mode

  • Why can I see the contents of a pages file in the thumbnail but it is blank when I open it? I am using a MacBook running MacOSX 10.7.3 and Pages 4.1 (09)

My daughter has a MacBook with locked software provided by her school. All week she has been working on her homework in Pages but today when she goes to open the files they are all blank, although the thumbnails show the content and the bottom of the screen shows the number of
Ages and words. We justcan't see them. Can anyone help her please?

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots  and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • How can I see the URL for a page opened in the new version of safari?

Sometimes I like to copy the URL for an article I find on the web.  The new version of Safari doesn't seem to show the URL.  How can I see it?

Just click inside the url address bar. Full url address highlighted, will appear.
    Best.

  • I can't get the bottom of my page to come up higher towards my content, big space on my page

Here's a link.  I've took out the margins, padding, shortened the height of the page to 200px.  I've brought the footer up on my master page until there's no space barely between my header.  I've checked for hidden text boxes.  On my other page the content is long so it pushes the footer down and appears ok.... Can't figure it out!  Below is a link to the problem page:

    Thanks for any suggestions

    Hi
I believe you have already fixed the issue, but if still the same problem is with any specific page, please let me know.
This is generally caused due to footer issue.
    Thanks,

  • Can't see the my screen at bottom right

When I Use an application, my screen is too large and i can't see the bottom right. So i can reduce it and i don't see some information.
    Can You Help me please?

Hey Rafa and welcome to the forum -
Is there any room to the upper left to move your window in order to expose the lower right? If so, move the window up and to the left by click dragging the title bar.
Is your resolution set to 1280 x 800? This can be checked at System Preferences/Displays and the Display button.
What application is it? Some are available to resize using the menu.

  • I can't see the animations on the website or access most of the options when I log in.Works perfect with Internet explorer though! Please help

I can't see the animations on this page (looks like a very small image) and when I log in can't access/see some of the options in the website . The page however works perfect with Internet explorer though! Please help identify the kind of plugin/add-on needed to make it work.

If you're using it in bright light, you may be getting sunlight through the back of the machine which can wash out the display.  The Apple logo on the back of the lid is actually a cut-out that uses the systems back light to make it glow.  Bright light (especially sunlight) can actually shine through the back.  As the users in the login are typically in the middle of the display, this is the area most likely to be washed out as that is where the Apple logo is.  You can try just putting your hand over the Apple logo on the back to block the sunlight when trying to log in.

The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?
