Despairing of getting an answer

I've posted this question on the Leopard forum for several days now with no replies (maybe there is just no clear way to answer this) so I'm putting up a link to it here on my old, trusty Tiger forum. Since it would seem to be a fairly generic OSX question, maybe someone here (and most everyone here is familiar with Leopard, as well) will have an idea or a suggestion.
Latest is I booted up in Safe Boot and upon restart the log in question had disappeared, again--but something seems to be unstable, and I think, sooner or later, it will return.
Should I think about applying the 10.5.8 Combo as a possible fix? (I did the 10.5.7 Combo then the Delta to 10.5.8 previously.) Lots of room on the drive.

Hi again, thanks, that's getting clearer. Just a couple of things left. I assume that new .kext will overwrite the original.
If you get a KP from an incompatible .kext they say
IMPORTANT: If the incorrect version of the IOUSBFamily kernel extension is installed, the system may panic on startup. Make sure that you have a way to correct the problem, before beginning the installation. You might use a bootable FireWire storage device, or a different bootable partition. When booted, you can use Terminal to restore the original IOUSBFamily kernel extension back into the /System/Library/Extensions/ folder of the broken partition.
So, worst case scenario, that means moving the original .kext over from the backup with a Terminal Command.
But first, wouldn't you need to move the incompatible debug .kext out? (meaning the new one that's causing a KP.) I think I could handle that with sudo mv. And the correct command to move the original from the clone back into the internal volume would also be a sudo mv?

In all of these releases, the corresponding version of USB Prober is installed in the /Developer/Applications/ folder.
I don't know what the "USB Prober" is, but I don't have a /Developer/Applications/Folder, at least, not in the Root Folder. (I do see DeveloperTools.Pkg, and .mpkg, in .Applications/Installers/X code Tools, and Xcode Tools Packages.) Will it create that Folder so this thing has a place to go?

IF that is the only iDevice activated for that recipient, then no. It should not successfully send as an iMessage if the phone is powered off or has no data connection. If you have Send as SMS turned on, it should automatically fallback to SMS after a few minutes. Of course, they won't get this until they power on their phone, assuming they have a text messaging plan with their carrier.

Problem in Getting Count answer for the report in OBIEE 11g..

I created a report in OBIEE 11g, but i'm not getting the correct answer as i expected...I'm getting answer in presentation services but the answer is wrong..
I'll explain to you with an example report: Suppose in the report "NATIONALITY COUNT IN DEPARTMENT WISE" manner
i dragged the Nationality column from per_all_people_f which is dim table and i dragged the column that i applied aggregation rule "count" for the column "nation count" from per_all_assignments_f which is fact table......If i viewed answers means i'm getting correct answer
(i.e.) nation count per Nationality..........
NATIONALITY<---------------------->NATION COUNT
AUSTRALIA 40
INDIA 20
AFRICA 10
USA 5
The above is the answer I'm getting with out including the department column from hr_all_organization_units...........
But since according to the report i need count in department wise manner, so for that along with nationality and nation count column i dragged department column from hr_all_organization_units which is dim table and also i hide that column as i dont want to view the department column in answers..........
If i clicked answers, means then I'm not getting the nation count for the nationality......... I'm getting the answer 0 for each and every nationality, if i included the hided department column

I'm getting answers like the above if i include the department dimension column which is in hided manner.........................

you said about writing query in DB.......whether U meant of trying checking the query in toad..or something else..........
Since im giving only one join from dim to fact in the physical diagram........
But more than one join exist between those dim and fact, but im giving only one join mainly the primary key column of the dimension table to the fact table....Whether i need to give all the joins that exist(even if it has 2 or 3 joins between those fact and dim) tables....
If i give count distinct means it is giving count for every nation as 1....like i mentioned below

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.

Photoshop Elements 1.0.1 seems like very old software 2001 I believe. Try asking in the Elements maybe someone there will be able to answer your question. Photoshop Elements

I May Finally Be Getting Some Answers

After a day of going around in circles, I'm finally getting some answers on my whole "trust market" problem, and it looks like the error could be Verizon's.
When I ordered my MiFi last month, I did so online, and for some reason, their computer assigned my MiFi an Alma, Michigan phone number. Alma is in Gratiot county, which is a county to the north of me. I live in Clinton county. This is important due to the following:
I spoke with a sales person at the local Verizon dealer, and he informed me that my city (St. Johns) is not part of the trust market, and that the trust market is north of here. My phones have Lansing numbers (517 area code), so that's not the problem. The problem is the Alma number that Verizon arbitrarily assigned my MiFi last month. The MiFi has a number that is in the trust market, even though I do not live in the trust market, nor is my account in the trust market.
The Verizon CSR directed me to the map of the trust markets on AT&T's website. This map clearly shows that the trust markets are defined county-by-county. Gratiot county is part of the trust market. Clinton county is not. For some reason (probably that dang MiFi card), Verizon thinks I live in Gratiot county. I do not....I live in Clinton county.
Furthermore, the local sales rep tells me that I should have never been assigned an Alma number for a device in St. Johns, and he even gave me the prefixes that the MiFi card should have been assigned. Neither of the St. Johns prefixes was assigned to the card. Instead, I got an Alma prefix, which is causing all of this confusion.
So basically, this was Verizon's geographical error. They have put my account in the wrong county, and they need to put it back in the right county. I explained this to the CSR three times. Now I'm waiting for a supervisor to call me back.
Man, this is frustrating!

It looks as if I may be on the way to a resolution Verizon admitted that they gave me an out-of-area number for the MiFi (probably because I ordered online and the number was issued at random), that it was their mistake, and that they are working to correct the situation so that I won't be switched to AT&T (although they couldn't make any promises, but it's a good sign). Hopefully, they can straighten this thing out.

Going into the App Store as you suggest, I see 'thee updates available", the first says, 'X RESTART', the second says, 'Garage Band, an error has occurred" (in red), and the third 'Memory Clean, UPDATE'.
Am I correct in thinking that OSX is the problem, because it is waiting for a restart?
