Desperate Housewives - S08 Ep 22 & 23 problems

Hi, When I try to download the desperate housewives season 8 episodes 22 & 23 it says 'item unavailable', and fails to download them. All the other episodes have been fine. And obviously this show is old, and all the episodes have been out for a while. I have tried to re-boot, and also deleted all our previously seen/deleted items, but it doesn't change the situation. Can you advise when these episodes will be available? thanks!

The HD versions of episodes 22 and 23 works for me but the SD ones do not.
I think the problem with these episodes are at Sky's end as there was a similar issue with a different program last week. I will report these to the team behind the scenes on this forum, I can't say for sure how long it will take as it can be anything from a few days to a few weeks I'm afraid.

Problem playing Desperate Housewives video on WinXP computer

Has anybody using Windows had trouble playing a show they downloaded?
I bought last Sunday's episode of Desperate Housewives, but it didn't show up in my library until I manually found it and dragged it there.
When I try to play it I can't see or hear anything. The slider and time display move, indicating that something is playing, but I don't get anything. I tried playing it in a current version of QuickTime, but also don't hear or see anything while it is "playing."
I don't have an iPod to play it on.

What is codec used these movies... Do you have the Avid codecs at home?

Blank recording - Desperate Housewives

Two weeks running we've recorded Desperate Housewives and it comes up on the recorded list as if everything worked perfectly but then when you press play the screen goes blank and then comes up "Play again" i.e. its like a blank recording.
We've recorded other things with no problem!
Anyone any idea why, technically speaking, this would have happened? I do seem to recall it happening to us before....and again it seemed to repeatedly effect the same programme (I think it might have been ER.
I would give BT a call but fear the solution will be a new box. We have 30+ recordings sitting on our current box that I don't relish losing and don't really want to change boxes if I can avoid it given that a new one may be on the horizon anyway.

Oh no, not MOTD2! Hope I'm wrong but difficult to see this going anywhere other than a factory reset or box swap. Bye bye recordings and you're joking about compo right?!
No legitimate way to save recordings other than by sending signal via SCART etc (in real time) to DVD recorder, PC video capture device, etc. No legitimate way to restore to old box after reset or new box after swap out; even if you copied the files from the disk / cloned the disk / swapped the disk then there's a chance that's where the problem lies anyway. Plus BT could quite rightly charge you for a new box if you've opened the old one.
Hopefully the engineer will have seen this before - it'll somehow be a server issue and he'll know a trick to solve it. Otherwise he may just suspect a hardware or software fault on the box.
A factory reset is always favoured by the support guys prior to a call out because it reformats the disk (I think), reloads the opsys/software and recreates the DVR.MRT file and associated video container files. It may be that the DVR.MRT file (which contains the recorded programme info and pointers into the video files) is corrupted, it may be that something in the software is not right. Either way recreating everything either solves the issue or pretty much rules out software/data as the cause. Forcing a reload of the base software like you get with a NR01 - which retains the recordings - might be a better first step than a factory reset (probably futile though).
I fear the long and short is that an engineer is unlikely to waste time trying to isolate the issue, especially as it appears to be sporadic - i.e. he wouldn't know if it was fixed when he left and chances are you'd be back on the blower within a few days. In my experience he won't have much in the way of diagnostic gear or be allowed to open the box up. He may offer a factory reset but I reckon he might push for a box swap to cover it being a hardware issue. Be aware that if you refuse this because you want to keep your recordings then the engineer may argue that he has to log the visit as 'no fault found' and you may be liable for the call out charge - that's what they told me, even though my box was dead, and I wasn't brave enough to call their bluff.
For situations like this (and for the ongoing silver box swap out) it would be really cool if you could connect a USB lead between two boxes and offload recordings from one to the other. Just dreaming now...

Desperate Housewives

I usually download Desperate Housewives from Itunes eery week. The problem is..I've been unable to download the show for two weeks now because it hasn't been updates on Itunes. Does anyone know what's going on?

According to my sister-in-law, this is what's going on. Last week (1/1/2006) was the first original episode since #10 and it was simply a re-cap of the entire 1st season. Episode #11 should be airing tomorrow (1/8/2006). We'll see if it shows up in the iTunes store. I don't have television service so I'm really eager to see it.

What effects were used in Desperate Housewives Season 7 Promo?

What was used to get the great coloring - very bright/sauturated? Was iT saturation of certain colors only?
The very orange horizon/sunset effect?
The clothes 'falling' of the actress while she is walking, changing into other clothes
Clothes falling of her when she is getting out of the car
This is really a great promo and as a novice After Effects user, I would love to know how these were created (what effects/plugins/etc).

Clothes falling of her when she is getting out of the car
Green screen shooting, 3D matchmoving, 3D animation, corrective warping, morphing and masking.
All of these are advanced techniques which you won't be able to pull of on your own, even if you had worked with AE for years already. This requires a qualified team and a lot of planning and involves much more than just throwing on a few effects on possibly poorly shot footage...

Desperate Housewives Season 3 has disappeared from the on demand listing, it was there a few days ago but some new shows have appeared and this one has disappeared. Half way through watching this at the moment so would be grateful for its return

I desperatly Need Help!! Synching Problem!! ASAP

I have had my ipod touch for a year now and everything has been fine but I just updated it and everything was still ok. But suddenly when i wanted to sync it it appeared " The Ipod...cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found."
and i uninstalled itunes and re-downloaded it again and everything was still there and i still have the same problem.
please help me.. (:

try to reset the ipod by holding the sleep and home button for at least 10 sec. until the Apple logo comes up, ignore the "slide to turn off" screen. If this does not help, restore it "as new ipod" . Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

Greys Anatomy and Desperate Housewives Starter kit won't play on iPod

My wife downloaded both starter kits for these tv shows. They both play in iTunes but neither will play on iPod Touch 2.1.
It say's it's not the right format for the ipod

I've had this issue too! If you skip to the next song in the playlist, and then press Play, the music should begin playing through the speaker as it used to. Not sure why, but it only happens on my iPod classic and doesn't happen on my iPhone 5, former 4S or iPad. Strange!

Where is Desperate Housewives Episode 8.21?

Episode 8.21 was broadcast on cable here in Canada on May 4th yet it's still not available in iTunes (I bought season 8). What's the reason for this?

It's in the US store, I downloaded it Monday morning. Try contacting iTunes support and asking.

General problems with BT Vision's current approach...

Firstly, in case anyone doesn't know where I'm coming from, I really enjoy the BT Vision service. I've got just the TV Package and I think that represents fantastic VFM. But it's not without (some serious) niggles, most of which I think BT need to take the time to think about because they should be within their power to correct and unresolved they will put some folk off the service and they'll go elsewhere.
Limitated library availability. The "Box Sets" are great from old stuff like Buffy to new True Blood and Lost. But it's frustrating that you can't keep them on the servers permanently. It's simply not good enough to be told that you have until a certain date to watch an entire series. Also, the WB approach of drip feeding VOD to me just takes away the whole On Demand point of VOD. And it's frustrating to have gaps, where you have series 3 and 4 but not 1 and 2. You have new customers joining all the time, and it's frustrating to not start from the start, especially when you see the new stuff time out and disappear.
Get the information right and the episodes in the correct order with no gaps. Time and time again this has been wrong and there's no excuse for it. It really spoils things. Get it right.
Finding the content. It's all over the place, and takes many selections to navigate your way back to a series you're watching (and often the route changes). I'd like to see a configurable favourites menu, preferably with some way of ticking off the episodes that you've watched. Also, it would be very handy if you numbered the episodes so that they appear in the correct order in the search menu, this means numbering the single digit episodes as 01, 02 so that the search doesn't present you with 1, 10, 11, ..., 2, 20, ...
I understand that the first issue is a problem. You have contract deals with the media owner and you have limitations on storage space. But you need to think long and hard about what it is that you're trying to provide to your customers. There are surely some series that you know (and can check) will always pull an audience (Lost, Desperate Housewives, Friends, Doctor Who) so you should consider having these permanently available. I was compelled to watch several series (Lost, Buffy) faster than I wanted to because it was going away. Unfortunately I've kept up the pace and now I've watched all of Buffy and I'm eager for more and considering going out and buying the box set and then being able to enjoy it at the pace I want to. Maybe that's what the media owner would like to happen, but it leaves me struggling to justify having BT Vision as well.

I agree with you about the way series' are added. A while back I started watching 'Charley Boorman - By Any Means. BT put up the first 3 episodes but as yet haven't put up any more, leaving viewers wondering about his return journey from Australia.

Odd Flash Embedding Problem

I am using Flash with SlideShowPro (component) installed, no
actionscript.
My XML file and my images are in a sub folder. The Flash is
not working. I copied the swf into the subfolder the XML is in.
When I open the root level page which has the flash embedded on it,
it pulls up the flash SWF, but does not recognize the xml file
that's in the sub directory. It tries to get an XML file from the
root level, instead.
If I run a page from the subdirectory, it works correctly,
which tells me that the XML file is properly configured when
sitting in that directory.
What do I have to do with the embed statements (or anything
else) to make sure it takes the XML file that is in the same
subdirectory as the swf file, rather than trying to find an xml
file on the root level?
I don't think I can have the swf on the root level, because
it asks for an XML file and there are many different subfolders for
which this has to work. If there is a way, I'd be glad to hear of
it.
The subfolders are all dynamically created, so I can't
preconfigure with separate names for the swf or xml files. At time
of dynamic subfolder creation, I copy in the SWF file and the XML
file is created into that folder.

I'm really desperate for help here.
My problem lies that I'm trying to use a dynamic situation
and PHP.
The PHP creates a folder in images/pictures, copies the swf
file into it, and creates an XML file in it...so, we'll use the
example of 10.
So now we have the houseInfo.php page on the root level with
the swf on it, and the images, actual swf file, and xml sheet are
in images/pictures/10
(remember, it's dynamic. So the number could be 14 or
24...depending on which houseID is in the database)
I can't use a php statement in flash, so I can't make the
flash dynamically grab the correct xml sheet from
images/pictures/10...
So I tried using this method:

By this method, the SlideShowPro doesn't have an xml file
path declared in the component, but rather I have this in the
actionscript:

Problems Playing a TV show

Has anybody using Windows had trouble playing a show they downloaded?

lol at least u can buy tv shows, we cant yet till apple sort it out,and you got like the biggest music videos collection and like 50% of them are English Bands and the thing is you got the videos and we aint Crazy lol

Bios Wont detect anything? is it motherboard problem?

im fixing my own PC since 8 hours ago and im really desperate now.. here's my problem:
i brought my new HDD (500gb) and i installed it and im ready to install windows 7.
the problem is my bios wont detect it! Even my bios wont detect my optical drive..
i tried other cables, exchanging ports etc etc. but it wont even work i tried almost anything
im starting to think maybe its my power supply or the mother board?
pls help me!! thanks guys

Midi Mixdown Problems

Hey, i've got a problem when mixing down midi to audio on audition 3..
When mixing down it seems to lose information through the process; sometimes dropping notes, sometimes holding notes on (sticking) till the end of the track until they all blend into one big mess towards the end.
I've tried all sorts, i'm just pretty desperate now!
what could the problem be?!

MP3s in iTunes 6.0.3

hallo. i'm downloading mp3's (legally) from sub pop records and opening them in itunes 6.0.3 into my library. i've done this loads of times and i've never had a problem with it until now. once they've downloaded and come into itunes they show a 0.00 time code and it won't play. i don't know why. this also happened with the new pearl jam song that came from j records i think. the songs are loading just fine--i'm playing them and they sound great--so they're nor corrupt files. does this happen with anyone else? any solutions come from it? any ideas why this happens? thanks for the help and cheers.

Yes, same problem here with iTunes 6.0.4 and the Quicktime bundled with it. Both programs encounter a buffer overrun at the same moment in a "Desperate Housewives" purchased video.
Will try to play it on my home computer tonight. If I can't watch the last 12 minutes of the show I'm going to be upset I paid $1.99 for it.
