Desperately trying to authorize my computers

Hello,
I'm facing the same problem with both my PCs. Despite authorizing them on the iTunes Store I still get the same message telling me "This PC is no more authorized..."
I've been through all the steps described in iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases but it's not working. What can I do now, could you help me ?
Thanks in advance

  • I am trying to authorize both computers for itunes

I'm having problems authorizing both my macbook pro and my imac for my itunes account access. I have managed to authorize my macbook, but the following message appears when I try to authorize my imac.
"There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer - The required directory was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed."
I have tried deauthorizing my imac and starting again, but still can't access my music that I have on my macbook. The only way I can is by home sharing while my macbook is on... which is annoying! I have purchased items on itunes on my macbook that I would like to store on my imac.
Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • I tried to authorize a new computer with windows 8. Per iTunes Help, there should be an "authorize computer" section on the iTunes store menu. I only have two computers authorized so I know another one is possible. Suggestions?

I tried to authorize a new computer with Windows 8 for my iTunes acct.  Per iTunes Help, there is an "authorize computer" prompt in the menu selection on iTunes store website. I can find no such listing.  I have two computers linked to my account so I know that adding another one would be ok.  Any suggestions?

Press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer.

I am trying to de authorize my computers however I cannot find where in the store in my apple id I can find computers?? Please help

You are referring to iTunes? Open iTunes > Menu Bar > Store > and authorize computer. You can only do it with the one you are currently signed into the iTunes Store with, so you will need to do this with every computer you want to authorize.
Edit: I missed the 'de' in your post - but, as you can see, you can de-authorize it as well.

Authorisations only applies to computers, not to devices. Have you had other computers in the past and/or updated the OS on your current computers without deauthorising them ? You can safely 'deauthorise all' computers as described on the page that you posted from, it doesn't remove any content from them, it just means that you won't be able to use your iTunes downloads on them until you reauthorise them (which you should be able to do immediately).

I have had the account for several years and have gotten rid of several computers, but didn't think to "de-authorize" them. I would gladly de-authorize the 4 i don't have any more, but they are junk, history, gone. I just want my 2 computers authorize. How can I de-authorize non-existent computers??

  • When I try to authorize my computer I receive a message saying you cannot authorize 5 computers at once. I only have one computer

I have made several purchases from the Apple Store, But when I tried to access them I receive a message that says 'Your computer is not authorized to play this track/album'. So I try to authorize and another message says 'You cannot authorize 5 computers at once.' What does this mean? I only have this one computer.

At some point other computers were autorized on your account.
Open iTunes and go to the iTunes store > Accounrs (in Quick Links section on the right) > sign in > From the you can use the Deauthorize All option. Apple limits use of this to once a year. After all are deauthorized you will be able to authorize your computer.

  • Error When Trying to Authorize...

I just got a new MacBook Pro, and I'm trying to authorize my iPod Nano.  When I try to transfer purchases, it tells me the Nano is not authorized; I click 'authorize', and it does not let me; tells me I 'cannot authorize more tha 5 computers'.
I have since deauthorized ALL computers and my Account Information tells me that ZERO computers are authorized to play content.
So what's the deal?  I keep going around in circles.  I have NEVER deauthorized all computers prior to yesterday - I understand you can only do that once per year.
I'm officially stumped - what's the secret here?
    HALP!

Not really, other than trying at a really inconvenient time when most people are asleep, such as 4AM USA Pacific when the Apple servers are probably not busy.
edit- tell me, are you able to go to the store and download a free single of the week?
