Despite licensing pushed to machine, still being asked to enter serial number manually

I downloaded a trial version of Adobe Captivate 8.  Through working with our corporate ITS group, I received approval to receive a licensed version of Captivate 8 via the Tech Comm Suite 5, for which the licensing would be pushed to the machine.  Even though the reports are indicating a successful push and install of the Tech Comm Suite 5, upon Captivate 8 launch, still getting the message regarding Continue Trial, enter license. Upon sign-in, am prompted to manually enter serial number.  What is the best course of action to resolve this issue

Have you bothered to do any research at all? Not every app was upgrade to 5.5. Those that weren’t will next be upgraded to CS6.

    In my case, I had to remove the following lines from the hosts file:
    120.0.0.1 lmlicenses.wip4.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 lm.licenses.adobe.com
    After that all worked again. Hope this helps.

    Fortunately, if i click on cancel, Logic will start the next time i run it without asking me. (But it asks again the third time i run it, and so forth - really strange!)

  • My creative cloud license is now making each app ask for a serial number

    What do I do? I have a creative cloud license that in fact paid 2 days ago, but when I try and boot any application in the suite it says it is a trial and that I need to enter a serial number. WTF!

    OK... I'm in. I was sent a link for an updated Adobe Application Manager.
    Installed it, opened  InDesign, got prompted to sign into my cloud account, and no prompt for a serial number this time.

    if you upgraded from xi standard to xi pro, enter the serial number for xi standard when prompted for the qualifying product serial number.

  • Keep being prompted for a serial number

    I launch any adobe app and am prompted to license the product.  I log into my acct but still get asked for a serial number.  I've done all updates and logged in and out of AAM but none of that has worked.  Please help.  I have the creative cloud student edition.

    I am copy and pasting my response to another thread - let me know if this is helpful to you or if you aren't using a Mac.
    Cancel / close any Adobe products.
    On Mac, open Terminal (Utitlities > Terminal), and type:
    sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
    You will need to then type in your administration password.
    Then make sure that any lines that look like:
    127.0.0.1       *.adobe.com
    etc, are removed.
    Generally, your Hosts file should have no additional entries after the commented section - but check before you remove any lines.
    I don't know the exact lines for Adobe that you will need to remove - but I think they should be pretty self explanatory.
    Press CONTROL + O and it will ask to Save as Filename, hit Enter to save.
    Next, you will need to flush your DNS cache.
    Type into Terminal:
    dscacheutil -flushcache
    Exit Terminal, restart AAM and you should be sorted.

    Okay I am getting very panicky now as I have joined creative cloud and submitted payment and spent the whole morning waiting for it to download photoshop CS6 and it still comes up with 'enter serial number' - I have a project to finish today which isn't helping. As far as I am aware I have uninstalled the trial version I had installed.  Is there anything I am missing or that I could check - I am using a macbook pro - any help will be very greatfully received, this is not a great start to my 12 month contract!
