Despite the fact that my laptop is Windows, I need to/prefer to use iTunes for my iPod touch. I tried to download iTunes onto my laptop and the internet crashed. When I try to download it, it'll just say thank you for downloading but no download. Help me!

iTunes won't download on my Windows after the internet crashed from me trying to download it the first time. I have an iPod touch and I feel iTunes is the proper application to use on such a product. I really need help.

What worked for me was to clear the browser cache and then try downloading again. Also, give it some time to download. I noticed that when the file was finally downloading, I still got the "thank you for having downloaded" page, even though the download was nowhere near complete yet.
(It didn't help to try downloading on IE instead of Firefox. Got the same "thank you" message on IE even though nothing was downloaded. I double-checked my downloads folder and I'm sure nothing was downloaded)

Go to the Purchases tab in App Store and click on the Mountain Lion download. See if there is a Resume option.
There also might be an icon in the Dock where you can try the same.
I can't remember from Snow Leopard what it shows when you are downloading.

It has downloaded into your download folder. Find it in your downloads and click on it to install itunes.

Sorry i am just responding, I had to find out from the shop where I purchased the IPhone if it was jail broken and I ve now confirmed that it was not jail broken.

No Play Store, sounds like no fun! Let's get this fixed! I would recommend trying the store in safe mode first. If that doesn't work a hard reset would be the next step. Here are the steps for both:

I had my iphone 4 stolen so just got the 4s tonight. I tried to open itunes and it says I needed to install new version. When I hit "install" the box goes away and nothing happens. I have gone to Apple site and tried to download from there and it says Thank you for downloadng after I hit install but nothing ever happened. have tried troubleshooting by uninstalling iTunes and all components and tried to re-install but same thing happens and it is not showing anywhere. There is some anecdotal evidence that the scripts on the Apple site that are supposed to detect the version of Windows you are running may fail for some users - jumping straight to the "Thank you for downloading ..." page with the installer not having been downloaded. As an alternative, you can go directly to the relevant downloads - like the previous 12.1.0.77 release, there are three different installers available, with direct links to these as follows:
iTunes 12.1.1.4 (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
iTunes 12.1.1.4 (64-bit) - itunes6464setup.exe
iTunes 12.1.1.4 (64-bit "for older video cards") - iTunes64Setup.exe
The third of these - which is actually the 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer - should be used if you get a warning about video card incompatibility when you install the standard 64-bit version, but also may resolve issues with playback, QuickTime compatibility, and problems with some third-party applications (including Outlook).

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
