Destroy/dispose  an object after using it

This might related to my java size limitation problem. I do getParemeter() for over 500 fields and need to create this many times of instance of an object to call the same method.
newinst=new myclassconstructor();
newinst.callmethod();
The application is only working 2/3 way through. Anyone can tell me how to fix the problem? Do I need to dispose the object somehow? J

This is the HTML form with 500 input elements that you have been asking various questions about all day? A word of advice: all the questions you have been asking are off-track. You are trying to solve secondary problems that result from your primary problem, which is this: you have an HTML form with 500 input elements. People who have to input data into that form are going to hate you and curse your ancestors. Redesign it so that you present the user with several smaller forms, one form at a time. Your users will thank you and you won't have to waste time the way you are doing now.

  • How to destroy object after use.

    Hello friends,
    i have used one class which is making telnet connection to some remote system and running commands over remote system.
    after finishing everything successful, that telnet connection is not closed.
    how can i close the telnet connection explicitly. i think if we forcefully destroy the class object, then the telnet connection will be closed automatically.
    Is there any method to destroy the object explicitly with out using finalize() method.

As soon as you get to the point where you want to destroy an object ... pull out your sledgehammer and swing away.Will that work if it's executing on a remote server?I don't know, but I'd like to give it a try. ;-)Stop stop stop stop it please

  • On cleanuing up COM object when using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel

    When using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel the COM objects that are created by the code must be released using System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject().
    Most of the time it's pretty clear when a new COM object is created such as:
    Excel._Application excelApp = null;
    Excel._Workbook wb = null;
    Excel._Worksheet ws = null;
    Excel.Range newRange = null;
    try
    // four COM objects are created below
    excelApp = new Excel.Application();
    wb = excelApp.Workbooks.Add();
    ws = (Excel.Worksheet)wb.Worksheets.Add();
    newRange = (Excel.Range)ws.Range["A1","A30"];
    // do these line of cod create new COM object?
    newRange.Font.Bold = true;
    newRange.Borders.Color = borderColor;
    finally
    if (excelApp != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(excelApp)
    if (wb != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(wb)
    if (ws != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(ws)
    if (newRange != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(newRange)
    In the above code I create four COM objects in the first part that need to be released when I'm finished with them. But it's not clear if the other two lines of code create a new COM object or not.  If they do then my code needs to look more
    like this:
    Excel._Application excelApp = null;
    Excel._Workbook wb = null;
    Excel._Worksheet ws = null;
    Excel.Range newRange = null;
    Excel.Font fnt = null;
    Excel.Borders bds = null;
    try
    // four COM objects are created below
    excelApp = new Excel.Application();
    wb = excelApp.Workbooks.Add();
    ws = (Excel.Worksheet)wb.Worksheets.Add();
    newRange = (Excel.Range)ws.Range["A1","A30"];
    // do these line of cod create new COM object?
    fnt = newRange.Font
    fnt.Bold = true;
    bds = new newRange.Borders;
    bds.Color = borderColor;
    finally
    if (excelApp != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(excelApp)
    if (wb != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(wb)
    if (ws != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(ws)
    if (newRange != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(newRange)
    if (fnt != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(fnt)
    if (bds != null) Marshal.ReleaseComObject(bds)
    How can I tell if getting a property creates a new COM object or not?

    Thank you for your replay but I do understand that the font object is a COM object.  What I'm trying to figure out is if a NEW object is created each time I access the font member of a Range object and if I need to call
    Marshal.ReleaseComObject on the font object after using it.
    Most member object of an object are a single instance and each time you access the member you simply get the pointer to that instance. For example:
    using(DataTable dt = new DataTable("Some Table Name"))
    PropertyCollection ep1 = dt.ExtendedProperties;
    PropertyCollection ep2 = dt.ExtendedProperties;
    if (Object.ReferenceEquals(ep1,ep2)) Console.WriteLine("They are the same object");
    else Console.WriteLine("They are different objects");
    The output will be: They are the same object
    On the other hand this:
    Excel._Application excelApp = new Excel.Application();
    Excel._Workbook wb = excelApp.Workbooks.Add();
    Excel._Worksheet ws = (Excel.Worksheet)wb.Worksheets.Add();
    Excel.Range newRange = (Excel.Range)ws.Range["A1","A30"];
    // do these lines of code create new COM object?
    Excel.Font ef1 = newRange.Font;
    Excel.Font ef2 = newRange.Font;
    if (Object.ReferenceEquals(ef1,ef2)) Consloe.WriteLine("They are the same object");
    else Consloe.WriteLine("They are different objects");
    The output will be: They are different objects
    It looks like each time I access the font member I get a new object.  I suspect that is not the case and what I am getting is two pointers to the same object and the reference counter is incremented by one.
    So really the question is what happens to the font member object of the Range object when the range object is released.  I assume the font member will be released along with the Range object ever if the font object has a reference count greater then
    0.
    If I am correct in my assumption then I can access the font member object as much as I need to without worrying about releasing it.
    I have been reading a lot about working with COM and the need to use Marshal.ReleaseComObject and there does seem to be a lot of disagreement and even confusion on the
    mater about when and if COM objects need to be explicitly released.

  • Dark path's edges after using shape builder tool or masking objects

    hi,
    i have a problem with path edges after using shape builder tool or masking objects. This problem occurs when i draw bright colored objects above dark colored object. After that i have dark path's edges. Like this: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/2051/dlm2.jpg
    I have one solution (pathfinder->dive objects and delete some dark elements on the bottom) but maybe someone know another solution for this problem?

    Thank you for reply
    Unfortunately, I don't have opportunity to print it, but as you wrote, it must be a screen artifact. I exported this file to tiff, then i opened it in photoshop. Everything is ok. All of the edges are clear.

  • Why we don't dispose SPList object using or Dispose methods?

    Hi Friends,
    Why we don't dispose SPList object in SharePoint server side object model?
    Could you please explain me indetails.
    Thanks
    Tiru
    Tiru

    SharePoint objects like SPWeb, SPSite holds a reference to an SPRequest object which holds a reference to a SharePoint COM object that is responsible to communicate with the backend SQL server.
    In case that the SPWeb object is not disposed when it is no longer used, then the connection to the SQL server will stay open and the memory allocated by the COM object will stay in memory as the COM object has not been asked to close the connection and to
    release the memory. However, SPList doesn't hold a reference to SPRequest. Hence it doesn't need to be disposed.
    See this for more information: http://blogs.technet.com/b/stefan_gossner/archive/2008/12/05/disposing-spweb-and-spsite-objects.aspx

  • CrystalReportViewer 2008 does not release GDI objects after closing.

    We need help in resolving an issue with a WinForms application we have developed that makes use of the Crystal Reports 2008 viewer control to both generate reports based on various parameters the user supplies and to view these same reports having been previously saved in crystal 2008 format.
    The issue we are seeing is that GDI objects are being created during the report generation process but some are not being released when the report viewer window is closed down. This leads to the system running out of GDI objects (seen by using the Windows task manager) and ultimately the application crashes. It is only when the application is closed completely that GDI resources are returned to the system.
    In an effort to isolate the cause of this problem we created a much simplified WinForms application that simply allowed us to systematically open and close a WinForm  that contains a CrystalReportViewer  to display one of our example reports. We found that the behaviour is the same for this application too.
    Browsing the crystal reports forums reveals there have been a few questions about u201Cmemory leaksu201D like this (see "Thread: CrystalReportViewer memory usage increases until out of memory" as an example) and there has been a good deal of talk about manually "disposing" of report documents and viewers but trying this does not correct this issue
    The extent of the "GDI Object leak" does depend upon the kind of report that is pulled in. One report we have that is 360 pages long and contains graphs and tables of data leaks 390 object per test iteration.
    Is this a known issue with the Crystal Report Viewer and if so is there an update or a workaround available?
    Are we performing all the correct initialisation prior to using the viewer? For example we are supplying the report to the viewer through a ReportDocument object; is there something special we need to do with that?
    Do we have to do anything special when closing the viewer?
    Could it be to do with the design of our reports? We are using the Crystal Reports 2008 editor (sp1) to do this design.
    We urgently need to help in understanding why this is happening and to be able implement a solution that will address this problem.
    I have provided the following code snippets of this sample application to give a flavour of what we are doing and hopefully you can see that it is not complex. The example shows the crystal viewer being presented with a ReportDocument as a Report Source ... this is how our proper application does things but if you try supplying the filename of the crystal report directly, the problem is the same.
    This C# code was written using Visual Studio 2008.

    Hi Martyn,
    I tested this and found after using this code to re-initialize the report viewer there we still 400 GDI objects not getting released. This may or may not be a CR issue. Still testing.
    Try this also, I simply created a close button but you should be able to do this in your form close method also depending on how you do it:
            private void CloseReport_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                rptClientDoc.Close();
                crystalReportViewer1.Dispose();
                GC.Collect();
                this.crystalReportViewer1 = new CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer();
                InitializeComponent();
                crystalReportViewer1.ShowExportButton = true;
                crystalReportViewer1.EnableRefresh = true;
                crystalReportViewer1.Controls.Count.ToString();
                crystalReportViewer1.BackColor.IsNamedColor.ToString();
                crystalReportViewer1.EnableToolTips = true;
                crystalReportViewer1.Refresh();
    The issue has now been tracked - Problem_Report:  ADAPT01301248
    Thanks again

  • [SOLVED] Getting freezes after using dwm for some time and exiting it

    Hello, I have an Asus Ux51, with a fresh (less than a month) arch installation. If I recall correctly I had a couple of freezes in other occasions but I don't remember much about those so I rather focus on the only freeze I can more or less reproduce and I've been having lately. After using dwm for some time with a couple of programs opened (rTorrent, browser, and some terminals for instance), if I close dwm or just press the power button to shut down, it starts closing everything and either stays with a black screen, or hangs while X prints the log information. It's not always though, for example, if I just boot it, open dwm and close it without giving it much use it usually closes fine.
    Tried googling a bit to see the usual ways to troubleshoot this but didn't get really far.

    Found this recent thread in the forums, I'll give REISUB a try late, but the times it freezed I remember trying to blindly reboot it, or switching off virtual console and couldn't.
    In case it's of any use, this is my # uname -a
    Linux arch 3.10.3-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 26 11:26:59 CEST 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    Could it have something to do with the nvidia optimus setup that this laptop has? When installing arch I found out that there was no support yet for it so I'm just using the intel drivers (following what the arch wiki said).
    Any ideas or advice to point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    I don't start st in my .xinitrc. I launch it from dmenu and usually everything is fine. If I launch it from dwm's internal command using Alt-Shf-Return, X freezes 100% of the time. A workaround was suggested by st's main developer to call st like this:
    static const char *termcmd[] = { "/bin/sh", "-c", "st", NULL };
    but it didn't work for me.
    Very rarely X will freeze anyway. I haven't been able to pin it down. When X fails, my journal returns this:

    overhead calculation not happening after using Overhead key and orgin group.
    There was a runtime error earlier related to u201Cdefine credit u201C IMG node under costing sheet component and we have applied SAP note 769946 and that error was gone out of the way
    We want to apply/add Overhead to SFG/FG materials.
    We are using PP order with PCC(product cost collector) as the cost object , i.e costing by period.(system ECC 6)
    But our problem is with material standard cost estimate process.
    We have assigned overhead keys to the percentage rates in costing sheet for material standard costing and assigned the origin groups to the credits of costing sheet. But after running the cost estimate overhead is not taking into account for standard cost calculation.
    In the define credit entry table key field is valid to date strangly and actually system should allow one than one entry with same valid to date and same sec.Cost element(type-41) for different cost centers.
    But if we without using overhead key and origin group, the entire cost in that supporting cost center will come to all materials (SFG/FG) and we can not distinguish between different product materials(SFG /FG).
    We have checked all things as mentined below.
    Firstly that the correct costing sheet is assigned to the valuation
    variant.
    That the costing sheet is entered for the appropriate material type:
    Finished and semi finished or material components.
    All of the above can be checked and verified via transaction OKKN.
    In addition make sure that the base value maintained is present in the
    costing, for example the base may include an Origin group, is that
    origin group part of the materials being costed?
    Similarly if the base is found and values exist how is the overhead
    rate of the costing sheet set up, is it valid etc.
    And finally do a similar check for the credit.
    we doubt this as a programm error...
    So, request all experts to have ur feedback..

    Dear,
    Check your origin group & material unit of mesaurement is same.
    some time in costing sheet origin group is maintain in different unit & for materail it's maitain in other unit of mesaurement.
    You can see unit of measure for material in Additional data - unit of measure.
    Check BOM component material unit also.
    Check same  unit of measure is maintain in KZS2
    I hope above will useful.

  • JavaScript won't recognize applet after using HTML Converter (please help)

    Hello friends,
    I used JavaScript to call a public method from my swing applet, which returned a string. It functioned correctly until I used the HTML Converter (a utility available from this web site, which converts the <applet> tag into <object>). Now it doesn't recognize the applet.
    Here's the JavaSript code:
    function getText(field) {
    field.value = Editor.getText(); // worked fine before converting
    // "Editor" is the name of the applet, used in the applet/object tags
    Here's the applet method:
    public String getText() {
    return "whatever";
    Now JavaScript sends an error "'Editor' is undefined"
    Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Yes, the applet loads. Here's the address: (the applet is not finished, but it functions correctly)
    http://www.lordofthewebs.com/test/test1.asp - before using the converter
    http://www.lordofthewebs.com/test/test2.asp - after using the converter
    The "getText()" menthod works in IE 6.0, doesn't work in netscape (I haven't gotten to this issue yet).

  • In which situation I need to active objects after transport

    Hi Experts,
        I'm wondering in which situation I need to active object after transport?  In some cases, I have to active transformation, DTP, infoobject, multiprovider....  Does any one make a conclusion of that?
        thanks in advance.
    Eric

    Sometimes, because of impact of a transport some other objects will be deactivated, then we need to manuaaly activate the objects after transport.
    Also, sometimes transport after import process could not be able to activate the objects, then also we have to activate them manually.
    Or suppose, you have moved and infoobject, due to which some other objects become inactive (where ever infoobjects is being used), then we have to activate them manually, if you dont want to transport them.

  • Compile objects after upgrade

    I have a question regarding compiling object after database upgrade
    I am upgrading E-BS database from 9i to 10g and i came across two different method to compile objects after the upgrade.
    the first solution is using the dbua built in option to compile all objects however this method takes about 14 hours
    the second solution is using the script utlrp.sql which is located in <ORACLE_HOME>/rdbms/admin/ this method takes 6 hours on the same database
    i am wondering why one is taking so long Vs the other on. which one is recommended and why

    You can use both methods. Duration of recompiling depends on count of invalid objects and how much cpu resources are available.
    I'm not sure what tehnique is used in dbua, but I think it is the same utlrp.sql.
    Looked at documentation, it says it is the same:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28301/software003.htm#BABEAGDG
    Selecting Recompile invalid objects at the end of upgrade is equivalent to running the Oracle_home/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql script, which is used to recompile stored PL/SQL and Java code.

  • GetResources() gives null's after using RMI (ClassLoader problem???)

    Hi
    I have just put RMI into my app and it works fine, connects to a remote server, runs a method on the server and returns the results.
    The problem is when I try to use a line like:
    URL url = MyClass.class.getResources("image/save.gif");
    The url is null. This code will work before my RMI function is run. Also, every dialog the application opens after running RMI has a line at the top of the pane saying: "Java Applet Window".
    Is RMI playing with the Classloader?
    Do I have to instaniate the ClassLoader or do something else to get my resources again and get rid of the text on each of the dialog boxes???
    Thanks in advance.

    if your class is Remote object, you use the RMI CLassLoader when you do:
    URL url = MyClass.class.getResources("image/save.gif");you shoud use instead:
    URL url = Classloader.getSystemResources("image/save.gif");
