Destroyed Pictures after export

Last night I did an export of 140 pictures. JPG, 2560 x 2560 pix. Came from RAW pictures stored inside the library. I did that with aperture 2 very often.
It was not a real surprise that all that action took over 70 minutes because aperture 3 is real slow (delete 2 pictures - wait 2 minutes). In aperture 2 it took a few minutes.
What really knocked me out: around 1/3 of the exported pictured have really bad parts, blocked areas, scrambled picture parts. A real mess.
What happens there?

I am experiencing the same problem. Slow, slower, slowest program I ever had on any Apple machine.. Where is Apple with statement, an upgrade? Everybody is protesting. Looking with one eye to Adobe now (at least they first call it beta version, before they throw their promises online).

  • Grainy black spots in pictures after export. HELP

I got a problem and I need advice quick! I do slideshow videos for wedding rehearsal dinners/receptions and I have one in Saturday. Some pictures in my slideshow are scanned in, some were put onto my MBP through a CD, the problem i have is that in every photo in the video there, where there is black in the picture, there is horrible, grainy dots things that take away from the meaning of these pictures. I'm using iMovie '09, and exporting in QT, because the video is going to be shown on a HD projector. It will be shown in 1080p. I need to know what i can do to get rid of the grainy spots in the pictures so i have a better quality video for this wedding. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Don't the "grainy spots" appear when you look at the photos in iPhoto or 'QuickLook' when you've put them into your Mac?
Which camera did you use to shoot the pictures? Did you shoot in dark suroundings, at a high ISO number, like 1600 or higher?
"..Some pictures in my slideshow are scanned in.." ..scanned in from prints?
"..some were put onto my MBP through a CD.." ..you mean that the photos were first burned onto a CD ..from the digital originals, or also scanned from prints?
Do the "grainy spots" only appear when you introduce the pics into iMovie?
It sounds like these pics may be "under-exposed", and the video processing in iMovie is trying to gather detail which may not be there.
Can you post an example somewhere?
It may be far better to make a slideshow in iPhoto - which is a photo-handling program, rather than use iMovie, which is a movie-handling program.

  • Picture disappears after exporting to Excel and saving.

    Afternoon,
I appologise if this question has been asked before, but I did try search past posts.
I am using CR4E, the latest version.
I have designed a report with a Logo in the Page Header. (JPG). If I export the report as a Excel Report (Page Based), the
    Picture is displayed as expected.
I can open and close the Excel Report as many times as I want and the picture remains. BUT as soon as I make a change to the
spreadsheet, and save, the Picture disappears.
I have tried using a BMP file, but still the same, I have tried having the picture in different sections but no luck.
If anyone has any ideas as to how I can keep the picture after saving the Excel version I would be greatly in your debt.
    Cheers
    Darren

    Morning,
I have managed to find a work around, although I am not 100% why it works but it does.
I was unable to find a solution to the problem using the Eclipse version of CR, but I found a version of CR2008 at the office, and
using that, inserted a OLE Object attached to my Logo (JPG) and placed this OLE object on the report. My original Picture of the logo was left in its correct placement.
With this OLE Object, it appears that I am not able to export the XLS file and then manipulate the spreadsheet and save as many times
as I wish and the logo remains.
The only issue I have with the OLE Object, and this is probably down to my lack of knowledge, is that the Object contains
a text reference to the file name "Company_Logo.jpg" and that it. It does not display the picture or anything but the text.
I am then unable to hide this text or change the colour of the font to "hide" it. What I have had to do is make the object as small
as possible and place it in the bottom right corner of the report and hope no one notices it
So as you can see my solution is not the greatest but it is working.
Krishnan, I tried you suggestion of moving it the picture object back and forward did not help, and then your File Export Options
idea is not possible in Eclipse Crystal Reports (not that I could find). What version of CR would you be refering to?
    Thanks for the suggestions/help.
    Cheers

  • After exporting - music and pictures out of sync

After using the workaround to attach my six songs as one (using Garage Band - thanks!) to my 434 slides, I tweaked the presentation so that the music and pictures were synced perfectly. However, once I exported them they slowly got out of sync, finally being more that 10 seconds off at the end of the 30 minute presentation (music moved along faster than the pictures). Is there anyway to ensure that what I see at creation stays the same after exporting?

    Hi chuck,
I have never used iPhoto for making my slideshows for export, but I have seen enough problems with the syncing in this forum not to even try. I know you don't want to hear this, but I have no problems with perfect syncing using iMovie to make my slideshows.
is this slideshow going to be burned on a DVD?
What did you export the slideshow to? Quicktime?
If Old Toad comes along, he has a lot of good tips.

  • I'm trying to make a timelapse with 900 pictures converted into 30 fps to get a 30 seconds video but after exporting my movie why is my video length 15 minutes?

So, I downloaded a slideshow templates and I'm trying to make a timelapse with 900 pictures converted into 30 fps to get a 30 seconds video but after exporting my movie why is my video length 15 minutes?

What settings are you using to export the video with?  I think 29.97fps is the only one that works with LR 5:

  • Quality not the same after exporting movie made up of jpg images

Basically I made an animation sequence on Autodesk Maya and rendered the sequence as 2000 jpeg images each representing 1 frame, put it in one folder and on Adobe Premiere imported and dragged the folder into the timeline to make a moving image so in other words my video is made up of hundreds of jpg images.
Now on the editor it all looks HD and fine but when I export it via file > export > media, in order to match the sequence to the screen I must click on 'match sequence settings' which will snap the whole movie into the window rather than have it widescreen and once I do this I can't modify anything else such as codec, etc (codec is automatically set as MPEG -Frame and the output automatically is mpeg), is this normal? Why is it mpeg ajnd not avi...
So once I export the video with these settings (image uploaded) the quality is ok but not as good as what I see in the Premeire editor, why? What can I do to improve the quality?
On the other hand if I don't click on match to sequence settings and personally customise the paramaters such as avi, I use max settings for many things but after exporting my picture quality actually goes worse compared tomatch to sequence settings? (which has less parameters)
Why is this happening, all my jpeg images are high quality 720p and I should just be able to export it as normal...
I am trying to make a cut-scene to get into Unity so the codec is important as well.
How can I make my video best quality as possible being mpeg or avi? What settings do I need to play with?

Maybe I misunderstood, but did you actually put 2000 still images on the timeline? If so, there is another way. Go to Import and find your folder, and select only the first still in your sequence, then check the box at the bottom of the import windows that says "Numbered Sequence" or something like that. This will import the stills as a "video" clip.
Regarding Export, don't check Frame Blending or Max Render, the first being for a change of frame rate and the latter being useful for a downscale of the frame size. You are doing neither.
Also, never use "Match Sequence Settings". Leave that unchecked, and then choose whatever format YOU want to use for the export, whether .avi or H.264 or whatever.

  • Keynote hyperlinks don't work after exporting to html

I'm working with Keynote in iWorks '08 on an iMac running OS 10.5.2. My hyperlinks (graphic and text) work perfectly running Keynote as a slide presentation, but not when I export it to an html format. What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
    Jeff
PS: The hyperlinks do work after exporting in flash or pdf format, but our webmaster says I can't use those formats due to compliance issues.

I noticed this as well. What I realized is that Keynote seems to just export the slide as a .jpg with a an .html file referencing the .jpg image. So in essence it is not creating an .html file of the slides contents but rather a reference to a picture of the slide. I haven't tried but maybe "send to" iweb and then "publishing to folder" will give you what you need. Not sure.

  • Colors washed out in lightroom but not after export

I'm new to Lighroom and don't really have a workflow sorted out. I'm shooting with a Canon 30D and shooting Raw+Jpeg until I learn enough to confidently handle raw files. If I adjust the images in lightroom so that they don't appear lifeless and grey by adding lots of saturation, when I export to jpeg and then view with windows picture viewer to see what the images would look like on Zenfolio in SRGB they are grossly over saturated and clownish. My monitor(Dell 2005FPW) is not calibrated with a calibrator but I am using the adobe prophoto icc profile in an effort to have some color management as I understand that is what Lightroom/CS3 uses. I'm not printing yet but hope to some day, for now I'd just like to upload some photo's to Zenfolio and share with friends and family but as it sits Lightroom is totally unusable as I have to guess what it will look like after export. I'm certain it's something I'm doing wrong or missing and I'm hoping someone can tell me what that is. Thanks in advance, Veet

Thanks for all the replies, I was beginning to think I was on my own,I'm very happy this thread finally came to life. I did use an adobe Monitor profile (Prophoto) as I thought that was the color space used by LR and had read in some other thread that I should use it. I tried using my supplied profile (2005fpw.icm) and I get an error message from Photoshop stating "The Monitor profile"Dell 2005FPW color profile" appears to be defective please rerun your monitors calibration software. I then have the option to ignore the profile or to use it anyways. I actually stumbled accross the huelight ACR's and tried them out but that didn't help. Photoshop has the same bland lifeless look as LR does. I d/l a trial of Elements 5 and it was also the same so it's adobe across the board. Color space and color management are totally new concepts for me
so I'm really at a disadvantage trying to trouble shoot this, I can bandy these terms about, but I suspect I don't really grok them fully as of yet. I'll be happy when I finally get my monitor calibrated, I understand now that it won't be a magic "fix all" :( but at least I'll have a solid point to begin building a color managed system. Other Raw converters don't seem to have this problem but as I am just now developing my workflow I'd like to master one program and I think I'd like that to be LR as it seems to be the one that encompasses the entire workflow ie. rating, cataloging, flagging ect. and I feel it would probably mesh best with Photoshop which I also plan to learn/use. I'm feeling pretty stuck and not very inspired to shoot atm as the exposures just keep piling up and aren't being integrated or dealt with appropriately. I don't have auto tone checked off and I'll see if I can track down an updated driver/profile for my monitor, one which isn't "defective" as Adobe puts it. Thank you for all the replies, I will get this resolved eventually and any help you guys can give me is more than appreciated.
A few questions should I shoot Adobe RBG or SRGB from the camera and does it matter for RAW? My understanding was that in order to use 16 bit I needed to be in AdobeRBG.
Which profile should I use for photoshop? as I can set the color space in it
After I calibrate my monitor will I be able to use that profile for the various pieces of software I'll be using?
I think I have Color Profile and Color Space meshed in my mind and thats probably very wrong. Thanks, Veet

  • Poor quality on movie after exporting it from Premiere Pro CS5.5

    Hi!
As a part of my bachelor thesis in industrial engineering, I am making an animation that shows how different types of water turbines work.
The animation it self,  I've created in a program called Autodesk Inventor. From Inventor I get an uncompressed video. This video is usually not possible to open directly, but when I convert this with FreeMake video converter, it works
    Conversion in FreeMake:
    From:
    RAWVIDEO
    1280 * 720
    16:9
    663,554 Kbps
    30 fps
    To:
    . Avi, mpeg4
    1280 * 720
    16:9
    3283Kbps
    30fps
The video looks great now, but now when i have finished editing the film in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and exported it, the lines are very blurred and bad. I've attached a picture showing what I mean. I have tried many different settings in Premiere, but i cannot get it any better.
The picture on the left is after exporting, the image on the right is after converting it in FreeMake Video Converter.
Have tried with the flicker removal, but with poor results.
Does anyone have any tips on what I can do?

Thank you for the warm welcome
Yes, the video from autodesk is uncompressed avi. These files are impossible to import in Premiere, and i cant open them in either VLC or WMPlayer.
After a conversion with FreeMake VideoConverter they are possible to import, and they look very good in VLC.
    My Sequence settings are:
    Editing mode: HDV 720p
    Timebase: 29.97 frames/second
    Video:
    Frame size: 1280*720
Pixel Aspect ratio: Square Pixels (1.0)
    Fields: No fields (progressive scan)
    Display format: 30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
    Audio:
    Sample Rate 48000Hz
    Display format: Audio samples
    Video Previews
Preview File format: I-Frame Only MPEG
    Codec: MPEG I-frame
    With: 1280
    Height: 720
Maximum bit depth and Maximum render quality is checked.
I have tried with a variety of export settings, but my current ones are:
    Output:
    Format: Quicktime
    Video Codec: H.264
    1280*720, 29,97 fps, Progressive, Quality 100, 48000Hz, Stereo, H.264
    Aspect: Square Pixels
    Render at maximum depth
    Depth: 24bit
    Use maximum render quality.
One thing I find quite strange is that i have to short clips at the beginning, which both seem fine.

  • Movies gone after exporting out of iphoto

does anyone know why my movies were reduced to mere pictures after i exported them out of iphoto? they were working fine in iphoto, but took up too much space so i wanted to put them with other movies on a disc. and now there only pictures, no more movies. what happened and how can i get the whole movie back? please help!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What are the options you're using to export the movie file? Have you run the latest iPhoto updates? Other's have reported that but I think the latest update has fixed it as I can export with either the Original or Current format option and get the full .mov file.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • White: not so white after export...

Working with a pilates video, it's shot against white background, but some elements like the foot of a tripod is still shown in the edge of the pic.
I begun working with this in CS3 but after upgrading im now in CS4. Anyways, i've fixed the problem with the tripod showing in the picture by adding a white box on top of it in post but now when i export it in CS4 (media encoder) the white box appears to be somewhat grey...
This never accurred in CS3 when exporting. And now i can't open the project in CS3 anymore since i've been working with it and saving it in CS4...
Anyone have an idea how to fix this? for your information, im editing in 1080(50i), exporting to SD DVD, PAL. The white box is completely white (255,255,255) but it looks like it's grey compared to the white background from the video... Also I haven't used any ICC profile or anything like that. I've also tried making the box in the title editor with the same result...
Im kinda stressed out about this so if anyone have any idea, let me know.
Edit: Im only interessted in making the box color match the background, i'vre read stuff about white not being white after export in other threads but my only concern is the mismatch that causes me problem. Problem that has occured after updating to cs4.

Thanks for the suggestions. Using Garbage matte to mask away the tripod will give the same result as putting a white box on top of the picture, i tried that. I still have to make that white base underneath the masked layer.
I think it has to do with the export. The white box as well as the underlaying layer (when masking) end up gray compared to my video background which is white.
Maby is has something to do with the background in the video beeing over exposed and therefore not 'considered' white by premiere?
Also, have in mind that this problem occurred after upgrading to CS4 .

  • Slideshow audio timing is off after export to QT movie

I created a slideshow in iPhoto and put one song with it. I times all the slide durations so that the music would fade out exactly at the end. After exporting to a QuickTime movie, however, the slideshow is finished before the song is... the song is off by at least ten seconds.
I believe I get better image quality if I do the show in iPhoto as opposed to iMovie, which is why I used iPhoto to begin with. But if the show will not synch, what other choice do I have?
    Any suggestions?

Did you take into account the transition times. That has thrown me off a number of times. Do you have the Fit Slideshow to music option selected?
Another application that creates, IMO, terrific slideshows is PhotoPresenter. It has 25 or more themes and can save the slideshow, with Fit slideshow to music, to a variety of formats, QT, for iPod, HD, etc. This is one of their many themes.

  • Audio problems in iMovie11 after exporting

    Hey everyone!
I have been suffering from a problem that I have no clue how to fix. So I created my video 9min long with all sorts of stuff (logos, various songs, voicerovers, detached audio, attached audio haha, cutaway picture, etc etc) and everything is fine with the sound while its still in the library. The movie is made and ready to export. BUT when I export and create a .mov file (HD 780 or 1080) the sound gets messed up and sudden gaps of silence appear out of nowhere. Usually those gaps appear at the end of the clip. Also the more I export the movie the more problems it appears to have..... So now besides the silence gaps, in 2 scenes the sound goes like you're under water for a second or so, and then goes back to normal. AGAIN this happens ONLY after exporting. Before rendering everything is fine on my imovie, sound is in tact and whatnot. But after exporting I face these issues that I have to solve somehow..
    Please help someone, it's urgent!
    Thank you in advance.

Extract, or detach, the audio and make sure the audio is in sync.

  • Pics not sharp after exporting

Whenever I try to export a picture, it seems to be less sharp than the pic that is shwoing in Aperture.
It seems like it loses some details after exporting it, even if I have the quality slider all the way to the right.
For now, I am using the Border FX plug-in which has some kind of output sharpening tool. The pictures come out much better and look more like the edited version in Aperture.
I am very frustrated with this though, I am sure there is a way to use the original Aperture export without losing any quality.
Here are some pics that hopefully show what I'm talking about
first pic is exported using border FX with slight output sharpening
second one is the picture exported with Aperture
First one looks just like the Pic in Aperture, second one is much softer than the in Aperture shown edited pic
    Thanks for your help,
    Lisa

one more thing though- this is a screenshot of a current picture. The one to the right is the original, unedited RAW file in Aperture. To the left is the exported JPEG.
it's pretty obvious that the pic to the right is sharper.
    Why is that?
I didn't add any shaprening or anything to the original to the right, so even if the export doesn't give good results for sharpening brushes, I didn't use that tool for this picture.
    Is that an Aperture bug?
