DeSync My Iphone which has never been synced

I recently upgraded to an iPhone5 and restored my phone using iCloud. Having never plugged my device into a computer I went to copy some movies onto it from my computer to be told that my current device is synced with another PC (I assume the iCloud sync has remembered my old phone was synced once to copy some apps onto it 2 years ago). I dont want to have my phone synced with any PC as with my other two devices so I can copy my movies from any of the computers I have at home (Combination of Windows 7 & Mac computers) as per my other two devices.
Does anyone know of a way of desyncing my iphone from all computers so I can use it in the same way as my other two devices where I drag and drop any movie I want to have on my device through itunes and it copies it on for me? This should be simple im sure but having spent over an hour on the phone with apple where the first two support agents were very helpful but third was not at all, so im hoping someone may know a way. The biggest issue I have is if I tick the box to manually manage I get a message saying all movies will be deleted (there werent any on there so this is fine) but when I hit apply it then SYNC's with that PC which is not what I want. At the minute Im getting to the point where I think i may have to not restore from iCloud and set the phone up as a whole new phone which is annoying as I will have to spend hours setting it up again which is what the iCloud was meant to get around.

You can't. She must do that on her computer, not yours. You cannot restore her data either.

  • How can I unlock a disabled ipad if it has NEVER been synced?

    Hi
    read everything I found but there is no option for unlocking a disabled ipad if it has never been synced with any pc.  Any suggestions?  its my kids ipad and he is driving me nuts !!!! help !

    Hello Allan,
    I did the reset, the pc scrren said it would take about a half hour reseting which is ok. But midway through the process it apparently disconnected itself from the Ipad and the ipad icon disappeared from the itunes screen.  Will try process again see if it works.  Thanks for the suggestion.

  • HT4113 My Ipad has never been synced with a computer or via itunes on a computer only set up by my apple id, when it asked to connect to itunes i turned it off, when turning it on again it asked me for a passcode. I never set up a pascode, now I am locked

    I have just bought a new IPAD. It has never been synced with a computer or via itunes on a computer, I tried to set it up using my APPLE ID and mobile number, it prompted me to connect to ITUNES. Unsure of what to do next, I closed it and took it to work. When I opened it one hour later it prompted me for the passcode. I never set up a passcode. I tried various combinations (my husband iphone, birthdates, kids passcodes etc) to see if somehow it had linked itself to their passcode. I called the shop I bought it from and was advised it would cost me 70 dollars to have it reset. I feel completely devastated that I haven't even been able to use the IPAD and I am already stuck. Can anyone offer some solid advice?

    To restore from backup (if you have an iCloud backup) see:
    iOS: How to back up
    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    How do i undisable my iphone if its never been synced to a computer

    You need to connect it to iTunes on a computer and restore it. If you have a backup in iCloud, you can restore using that backup. If you don't, then all your data and settings will be lost, though you can get back your apps, and depending on your country perhaps your purchased content, from the iTunes Store.

    Connect it to iTunes. If it doesn't automatically prompt you to update, click on the name of the iPhone under the DEVICES section in iTunes, and click Check for Updates.

    If you don't want to delete everything then disconnect it and use the computer that you previously synced with.

  • HT1212 Restoring on a new computer that the ipod has never been synced to is not working.  Old computer is broke and trying to sync to the new one is not working.  Help!

    Passcode has been disabled and the computer it was synced to is no longer working.  We have tried to sync to the new computer and it is not possible.  Exactly what are the steps to do this.  All our apple products are on our account, therefore, apple support should be able to see that there is nothing "suspect" going on.  It is driving me insane not being able to reset/resync, whatever it's called when your locked out.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
