Detach database and reattach to new server

What we need is to detach the existing Database and reattach it to a new
instance of ZAM 7.5. I read but could not find a tool called MoveCS.exe.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Kirk

Hi, The customer has a copy of Tally Systems' movecs.exe from 2001 but
wants to know if it is going to work for ZAM 7.5. Could you send me a
copy of the latest version? infoATmaulesystemsDOTie

  • The account password was not specified. Error after setting up a second Crawl Database and Crawler on different server.

    We have a three server farm. (SPWebTest, SPAppTest, SPDBTest)
    We have added an additional database server (SPDBRMTest) and an additional application server (SPAPPRMTest).
    Today I created a new Crawl Database on SPDBRMTest and a new Crawler on SPAPPRMTest.
    I create a distribution rule to all crawling activity for 1 web application to the new crawl database on SPDBRMTest.
    This web application was part of the original crawl and had no errors or issues. We are trying to scale our Search to improve performance but when a full crawl is executed against this content source I get the following crawl error:
    "The account password was not specified. Specify the password."
    I have tried re-entering the "Default Content Access Account" but the issue continues.

    Hi Brian,
    when you add the crawl rules, do the account that is provided have the permission to read the content at the web application?

  • Trying to restore a database with RMAN in new server

    Hello,
    Database: Oracle 10gR2
    O/S: Windows Server 2003
    My RMAN backuppieces are stored in a network drive:
    \\old_location\FULL
    and
    \\old_location\INC
    I'm trying to restore a whole database with RMAN in another server from my FULL backup.
    For that, I copy all backuppieces files
    from: \\old_location\FULL
    to new server: D:\new_location\
    Also I created the relevant folder hierarchy under <ORACLE_BASE> directory, as follows:
    a. Create BDUMP, CDUMP, and UDUMP directories under '<ORACLE_ BASE>\admin' directory
    b. Create <DATABASE_NAME> directory under '<ORACLE_BASE>\oradata' directory
    c. pfile.ora and controlfile (CTL_MTDPROD_2308_20120401_1.CTL) are backup from original database and they are in D:\new_location\
    d. I copied pfile.ora and controlfile to folder: C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\
    I started creating an instance in new server from scratch:
    C:\>oradim -new -sid MTDPROD -intpwd mtdprod
    C:\> SET ORACLE_SID=MTDPROD
    C:\> rman
    RMAN> connect target sys
    RMAN> SET DBID=21692876873
    RMAN> STARTUP force nomount PFILE=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\init_mtdprod.ora
    RMAN> restore controlfile from 'C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\CTL_MTDPROD_2308_20120401_1.CTL';
    RMAN> alter database mount;
    #Since I want to read my backuppieces from D:\new_location and not from \\old_location\FULL then I catalog and restore like:
    RMAN> catalog start with 'D:\new_location\';
    RMAN> restore database;

    Questions:
    1. RMAN still reads from old_location. The only way to avoid that would be deleting all files from \\old_location\FULL ?
    2. The message "failover to piece handle=D:\new_location\...." indicates that that file is not usefull? I just copy them from old_location to new_location... how can they get useless?
    I suspect there is something in controlfile that redirects to \\old_location\FULL\ and doesn't let to read from D:\new_location\
    Please, advice.

    I suspect there is something in controlfile that redirects to \\old_location\FULL\ and doesn't let to read from D:\new_location\Is this a cold backup? Did you change the location of control file in your PFILE or is it still pointing to old location?
    You may want to check the output of RESTORE DATABASE PREVIEW command, which will just report which backup files it uses without actually restoring thhe DB.

  • Upgrading report from CR8.5 to CR10 and connecting to new server

    Post Author: jnicholsDME
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    We have numerous reports (50+) with various subreports that are used by our enterprise accounting system (MAS500).   We recently upgraded to a new version of this program.   The upgrade required that we upgrade the reports to CR10 from CR8.5 in order to render them in the program's runtime engine.  All of these reports now live on a new server and are pointed to a SQL2005 db on that new server.  I had to reset the datasource (we're using an ODBC connection) on all of the reports to point them at the new server and database.   However, the SQL queries seem to still reference the old database (which was on the old server).    The reports run fine inside of the accounting system, however, if we unplug the old server the reports take approimately 1 minute, compared to 3 seconds with the old server plugged in.    Even editing the report in crystal, it takes approximately 1 minute to open the report in Crystal designer if the old server is unplugged (as opposed to 2 seconds with it plugged in).    Despite setting the datasource it seems as if something in the report is still trying to resolve itself to the old server.     Another strange thing is that even when the old server is turned on, the sql database the reports previously referenced is OFFLINE.  Despite reset the datasource, when attempting to verify the database the reports bring up a dialog saying a table from the old database can't be found, and this reference is still visible in the SQL query inside of crystal.   Unfortunately, I can't edit this query, or I'd probably be able to resolve my issues.  Any ideas?   Rewriting these reports would take weeks.

    Hello,
    What edition of Crystal Reports 10 do you have?  You have to have CR 10 Developer or Advanced Developer.  CR 10 Professional and CR 10 Standard are not development level products and do not install development components into VB6.
    Open CR 10 and go to Help > About.  What is the edition description at the top?  If it doesn't say CR10 Developer or Advanced Developer you have your reason.
    I hope this helps!

  • How to save old email database, and make a new one

    can anybody please lead me to a direction sheet for saving your old email database, making a new one, and then importing the old messages into the new database?
    thanks in advance

    I have been trying to figure out why my mac mail will start to down load, and then it stops. I have 50 messages that i'm trying to POP and it start out fine, then after 10 or so messages it stops. i have tried to delete the messages from the server to see if there is some specific message that is causing problems to no success.
    so now i'm trying to just remove the old Messages and start a new mail data file from scratch. then move the old messages into it, that is if it can be done.

  • Advice on RAID and backup of new server in CAD office

    Hi, I work for an architects firm and we're looking to purchase a new server.
    Our current situation:
    • Dozen workstations running Leopard, on a gigabit network
    • Server running Leopard Server (Standard setup), with one 250GB ATA hard drive (17GB space spare)
    • Data files are backed up and taken off site each day with a triple rotation of external hard drives, using Retrospect.
    • The server hard drive is cloned to an external drive each week, which stays on site, using SuperDuper.
    • User accounts from workstations are all backed up to an external drive, which also stays on site, using Retrospect.
    • And I've been trialing Time Machine, backing up the data to an external hard drive, but I can't see this replacing Restrospect backup as Time Machine doesn't compress the files.
    To the future:
    • What sort of RAID setup should we go for in a new Mac Pro server?
    • I'd like to throw it all into performance but I'm thinking we should probably use a RAID to replace our SuperDuper clone from above.
    • When you have mirrored drives presumably if one fails the other one just carries on doing all the work by itself?
    • Should we run the system on two mirrored drives and the data on the other two? Or if I'm looking for more performance would I be better having 3 mirrored drives for the data and one for the system? Is this even possible?
    • Is it possible to get the smaller 73GB SAS drives for the Mac Pros? It seems you can only get the 300GB ones, which are £500 a pop!

    Keep in mind that mirrored RAIDs require two similar drives preferably the same make and model. A mirrored RAID only provides drive failure protection, it does not provide data redundancy. If you need a backup then you need two mirrored RAIDs using one to backup the other. This is also true of striped RAIDs which only provide increased storage but provide no protection against drive failure nor provide data redundancy.
    These factors should be taken into account when planning your setup.
    Personally, I would not recommend using Time Machine. Aside from being fairly basic as a backup utility it is not sufficiently reliable in my opinion for your situation. Retrospect is a much better choice.

  • Applying CPUOct2007 only on database and not on Application server home ??

    Hello All,
    Can i apply the CPUOct2007 on the database(10.2) without applying the same on the Application Server home ??
    I mean, is there any dependency between the database and the application server home while applying patches/patchsets.
    Thank you,
    J J

    Yes you can safely apply the CPU to the DB and not to the AS home. Just make sure you have set your ORACLE_HOME variables properly.

  • Migration from of database and app from SQL server 2005 to Oracle 10g

    Hello Every body,
    Lately, I have been requested to migrate one inhouse developed hub application from SQL server 2005 to Oracle 10g. The objective is to move application and also the database to Oracel 10g.
    Here is the current platform:
    OS Win 2008 64 bit
    JDK 1.4.2
    JBoss 3.2.5
    EJB 2.1
    My question is what kind of issues you guys see in above upgrade. As far I know, Schema and Database migration can be done by Oracle workbench. Oracle 10g supports JDK 1.4. Oracle 10g also supports EJB 2.1.
    Anything, I need to take into consideration or any risks or problems. I would like to list down all the risks, and accordingly, I am thinking of start the upgrade.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Zeeshan Qureshi

    In general the Java/J2EE application needs work in the following categories:
    1. Connection Settings: Use Oracle JDBC drivers, create new data sources, connection pools and what not. Disable AUTOCOMMIT for Oracle JDBC Connections.
    2. For EJBs, you should regenerate the entity beans because some object names/column names might have changed in oracle.
    3. Any custom SQL that is in use in the EJBs will have to be ported to Oracle just as you would do in stored procedures and other applications.
    4. For Java front-ends, if you are using callouts to stored procedures and expecting result sets then they will require some changes. You need to modify the stored procedure call signature to include the REF CURSOR variables and process them.
    5. Changes to any SQL Server specific database functions manipulating character/date data will be required.
    6. CLOB/BLOB/XML apis are different across databases so if you are using those then focus on them as well.
    7. Retreiving Auto/generated keys from database also may need changes from what I have seen.
    Hope this helps..

  • Auditing in oracle 10g database and oracle 10g application server

    Dear friends,
    We have oracle 10g application server and oracle 10g database server in place.My criteria is to audit users connected using oracle application user credentials to the database.
    Can you please tell me how can i do it.
    Thanks & regards,

    Its the database connection you want to track. The session audit will show where it came from.
    Auditing is turned using this command:
    alter system set audit_trail = DB scope=spfile;
    Note: The use of spfile will require a DB bounce before audit starts
    To audit Sessions:
    audit create session;
    Query by Audit Type:
    SELECT A.USERNAME,
    OS_USERNAME,
    A.TIMESTAMP,
    A.RETURNCODE,
    TERMINAL,
    USERHOST
    FROM DBA_AUDIT_SESSION A
    WHERE USERHOST = <replace with iAS servername> ;
    By User
    SELECT USERNAME,OBJ_NAME,ACTION_NAME , TIMESTAMP
    FROM DBA_AUDIT_TRAIL WHERE USERNAME = 'SCOTT';
    Check for users sharing database accounts
    select count(distinct(terminal)),username
    from dba_audit_session
    having count(distinct(terminal))>1
    group by username;
    Attempts to access the database at unusual hours
    SELECT username, terminal, action_name, returncode,
    TO_CHAR (TIMESTAMP, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),
    TO_CHAR (logoff_time, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS')
    FROM dba_audit_session
    WHERE TO_DATE (TO_CHAR (TIMESTAMP, 'HH24:MI:SS'), 'HH24:MI:SS') <
    TO_DATE ('08:00:00', 'HH24:MI:SS')
    OR TO_DATE (TO_CHAR (TIMESTAMP, 'HH24:MI:SS'), 'HH24:MI:SS') >
    TO_DATE ('19:30:00', 'HH24:MI:SS');
    Attempts to access the database with non-existent users
    SELECT username, terminal, TO_CHAR (TIMESTAMP, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS')
    FROM dba_audit_session
    WHERE returncode <> 0
    AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 'x'
    FROM dba_users
    WHERE dba_users.username = dba_audit_session.username);
    Other audits you might consider:
    audit grant any object privilege;
    audit alter user;
    audit create user;
    audit drop user;
    audit drop tablespace;
    audit grant any role;
    audit grant any privilege;

    audit create view;
    audit drop any procedure;
    audit drop profile;
    audit alter profile;
    audit alter any table;
    audit create public database link;

  • Moving oracle database to a new server with an upgraded oracle software

    Hi Guys,
    Here is the scenario, we have an existing Oracle 9.2 demo database on a Solaris 5.9 server. I was asked to transfer this to another server with same OS but with an Oracle 10g software installed. The original plan was to mount the exisiting Oracle home from the original server to the new server and from there copy all the database files and bring up the database.
    Here are the steps:
    - Issue an "alter database backup controlfile to trace", get the script from the trace file
    - Copy all database files to the new server
    - Edit parameter files
    - Do a startup mount recreate the control files, do a recover database, and startup the database on the new server.
    I suggested that we to a transport tablespace but due to limited resources and that the 9.2 database does not have this feature we can't perform this process. I also can't do a exp/imp of the database since we really have limited resources on a disk. I was wondering if the steps I enumerated above are correct? Or would result in an error?

    Hi,
    why you want to recreate the controlfile, does the mount point locations are changing from old server to new server?
    if you recreating controlfile new incarnation starts, keep in mind.
    you have the downtime to upgrade.. :)
    shutdown
    take cold backup and move to new server.
    create the directory structure as exist in PFILE including CRD files.
    install software
    startup upgrade
    upgrade database(need to add sysaux TBS)
    shut immediate
    startup
    *@?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql*
    change hostname in listner.ora/tnsnames.ora files.
    Thanks

    Create your own Value Object (Data Transfer Object) in Java with a structure similar to this and map the fields returned from the database to the fields of that object (preferably using SEtT methods).
    Hope this helps.

  • Migration from XI R2 to Xi R3 and new server box

    Hi,
    We are planning to migrate to a new server and on that new server, we will install BO XI R3. We have the following issues:
    1. All our users have bookmarked the XI R2 address in their browser. How can we transparently forward them to the new server. Can we do it with DNS forwarding?
    2. Even we can forward to the XI R3 login page, but how can we keep running our existing Xcelsius Dashboards. The Xcelsius dashboards get refreshed using live office and the live office model points to XI R2 reports. Do we need to update the model for each of the dashboards to point to the new server?
    Please let us know if anyone has any suggestion/experience.
    Regards,
    Tanveer.

    My suggestion/experience is you will want to have access to both XIR2 and 3.0 during the migration.
    A migration is one of the more complicated tasks and there could be unforseen obstacles.
    In theory you should be able to migrate most or all of your XIR2 to 3.0 and then give out a new link to allow others to test. At the same time you leave XIR2 and the old links available in case issues arise you will have a backup.
    Live office should be able to be redirected to 3.0 there is a legacy support built in for this (dswsbobje).
    The final goal of course is to migrate everything to 3.0 and stop using the XIR2
    There are many consultants both within BO/and 3rd party that can help plan a migration.
    You should also have the support of the BO deployment team if migration issues should arrise.

    Tim

  • Replace existing server with new server

    Good Day Guys,
    Could you please throw some light on the issue below,
    Our QAS is down for more than a month and we are having problems with the server on hardware side,so our company has decided to scrap up the old server and bring a new server in its place.
    Could you please share your ideas as of how to proceed from having new server.My concerns.
    Installing sap and Mssql from scratch naming same as our old server.Here im stuck.......whether to install a new database and do DB refresh from the production database.
    Please post me all the activities to considered for a new installation and to have a copy of production installed on it.
    thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    This is how you should proceed.
    1. Take a full backup of your production - make sure it is successful.
    As you cannot use the sql server detach/attach from production - you will have to do a backup and restore.
    2. Uninstall your quality - the uninstall steps are there in the installation guide.
    3. Install your QAS using SAPINST as per the homogeneous system copy installation guide. And select the option db using "backup/restore" when SAPINST asks for it.
    4. Restore the database using the production backup and logs via the SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
    5. You will have to change your schema names by following the sap note 551915 - this is only needed if your SAP system uses the MCOD convention of the form SAP<SID>.
    Also, check these SAP Notes 151603, 193816for a SQL Server Copy.
    Hope this helps.
