Dear Implementators,
Do you know by any chance if it would be possible to make  the entry of the detailed navigation fit the frame provided for it? Just to explain this, here is the sketch:

  • Expand all folders in the detailed navigation by default on click of Role

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement on expand all the folders in the detailed navigation by defalut when we click a Role in the Fist level navigation.
    Please have a look about our requirement as mentioned below.
    ->Role1(First Level Navigation)
       ->Wokset1(Second Level)
           -> Folder1(Detailed Navigation entry Folder)
                  -> Folder2
                       Page1
                       Page2
                  ->Folder3
                       Page3
                       Page4
                  -> Folder4
                       Page5
                       Page6
    When the user clicks on Role1 then automatically all the folders in the detailed navigation should be expanded by default then user could see all the pages displayed in all folders. currently the functionality is collapsed all the folders by default in the detailed navigation then user has to expand the folders manually.
    Regading this issue, i had seen couple of threads on the same but getting confusion what is the exact solution for the solution.
    in those existing threads some people has mentioned that need to change code in the lightdetailnavigation.par or some other mentioned that it is not worked out even do the required changes in the code of light detail navigation part file. there is no clarity in the existing threads for getting  the exact solution . please let me know what are the properties needs to be changed at folder level or workset level to make sure all the folders should be expanded by default in the detailed navigation??
    Currently we are using portal 7.0 version.
    Any pointers in this regard would be the great help to us??
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    To expand all the folder by default, we need to set the property of the detailed navigation tree.
    Open your framework page in the content administration.
    Check on the detailed navigation check box and click on the properties button.
    In the properties, set the value of initial state= OPEN .
    This will expand all the folders by default.
    Hope you understood.

  • Move Detailed Navigation

    Hi,
    I have created a collaboration room based on the SAP_Standard_Template_2. I would like to remove the detailed navigation, My Rooms, Room Role List etc. but can't find any appropriate objects (iViews,Pages,Roles, Worksets). Anybody who knows how I can accomplish this?
    Furthermore, I would like to move the detailed navigation entries to the horizontal navigation bar.
    How do I do it?
    Thanks

    Removing the detailed navigation is no problem, it is described at:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/5a/33befa45ca7f459b24d0c5d51d0749/frameset.htm
    Summarized: Go to the Default Framework Page and un-check the "visible" check button.
    However, getting the detailed navigation into the top level navigation is still an open question.

  • Links in detailed navigation

    how do i add new links in the detailed navigation section? is it added in workset or page?

    Hi Arun,
    The Hierarchy of Portal object is iview, Page, workset, role. You can view application once the role is assigned to the user. If the entry point is role, role and workset appears in the Top Level Navigation (TLN) and the rest of the hierarchy appears in Detailed Level Navigation. Usually the no of items in TLN is 2. We can change it to 1,2 or 3 depending on the requirement and the rest if any will appear in the DLN. So we cannot say which object appears in the DLN.
    Also there is concept of Workset within Workset, Page within Page. It all depends how the object is packaged.
    Have a look at this documentation

  • How to disable automatic loading of iView/Page in detailed navigation?

    Hello,
    We've upgraded our portal 7.0 from SP9 to SP12.
    I've noticed that SAP have added this change: Whenever a user is navigating between one role/tab to another in the top level navigation the first folder at the detailed navigation is automatically opened and the first content there is automatically loaded.
    I would like to disable this option - I've looked at the new properties that have been added to the detailed navigation iView between SP9 and SP12 and could only find these two: Display Parent of Hidden Node and Open Folder When Launched.
    These two are not solving this problem and they are disabled anyway.
    Any ideas...?
    Roy

    Roy,
    Role and Workset Hierarchy:
    Folders F1 and F2 (Roles) are defined as entry points and therefore appear on the first level of the top level navigation bar. What happen is when we click F1 (Role), the underlying folders F1a and F1b (Worksets) appear on the second level. On click on F1a the first entry F1a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
    And same procedure happens with F2 role on the first level of the top level navigation bar. When we click on the F2 (Role) the underlying folders F2a and F2b (Worksets) appear on the second level of the top level navigation bar. On click on F2a the first entry F2a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
    I think need to configure levels of TLN which includes top level navigation, detail navigation and content area and then need to define the entry points.
    Below are the links for configuring levels of TLN and right below it you will find link for define entry point:

  • Fodler in detailed navigation wont open

    Hey people!
    I having some problems with folder in detailed navigation. The problem is that the folder wont expand. I have tested it on several computers, and i am only experince this problem on one computer. That means that its not a issue inside the portal, but with the browser, or some local security issue. All the computers are/should using the same security settings. Do you got any tips what could be wrong?
    The computer it fails on, have earlier had IE 7.0 installed, but this is now removed and IE 6.0 is installed. So it could be some IE leftovers.

    Kirstoffer,
    I would check the registry under Microsoft Software registry entries. There is a diagnotic tool or you could check the following manually.
    HKCR = HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
    HKLM = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    HKCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER

  • Problem navigate  from the "detailed navigation"

    Hi ,
    I created a role that include workset.
    the pages of the workset are being  displayed in the "detailed navigation" area .
    when i navigate from "a" to "b" in the ""detailed navigation"...i have 2 problems :
    1. sometimes i see the portal logon page .
    2. it navigate back to the entry point of the first displayed role .
    Any ideas how to solve this problem ???
    Thanks Faniel.

    If your portal is abc.foo.bar.com:5000 and your iView tries to access content in abc:50000, then you might be prompted to logon again.
    Are the WD applications running on the same instance as the portal, or are they running on a different instance?
    What is the cookie lifteime?

  • Default page in Detailed navigation

    Hello,
    i have a problem.
    The scenario is: In detailed Navigation i have a number of pages that are showed as merge of different WorkSets.
    The Merge ID and the sort ID are set but the first page opened is not the first of the list...
    Thanks for any helps and suggestions
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,
    I think you should not use the merge id, but the sort priority to accomplish that (like Noel  suggested). That's exactly what we do in our portal.
    We have several roles each of which as the same merge-id for "link 2" and contains one of the "page 1", "page 2", ... (these pages do not have a merge id, but only different sort priorities)
    The same merge ID on the "link 2" level makes sure that everything appears under "link 2" and now the sort priority (set at the "page 1", "page 2", ... level) determines which page is displayed where. In our scenario the most top page is always activated.
    If this doesn't help you: if you click on "link 2" and "page 4" is displayed, is "page 4" the top most entry or is the sort order really
    page 1
    page 2
    page 3
    page 4
    page 5
    and still page 4 is displayed? If so, I think there is an option to set if an entry should be opened or not -- but I am not sure about this.
    Regards,
    Holger.

    Hello,

    Could someone tell me how to fix it?
    thanks a lot, Vanessa

    Hi Vanessa,
    Did you set the "Default Entry for Folder" property (see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/9d/36458642e748d7a4bfbf44f00cd7a7/frameset.htm) on the page/iView which should be displayed for that folder?!

  • Detailed navigation wont remove completely

    Hi,
    I've been through all the threads  on SDN and as a result have removed all but the content area from my default framework page and set the 'set to invisible in navigation parameters' to yes for all the iviews in the role.
    However I'm facing two issues.
    Firstly, for all ESS screens the small right arrow 'expand' icon remains present for the detailed navigation window. Clicking on it will open a blank window which is not ideal. Can anyone advise how to remove the navigation window completely so that the expand arrow does not appear?
    Secondly, rather randomly, for the family member depenendents page the detailed navigation appears as expanded despite being set to 'always close' in the view properties within the role (all other pages are fine). Can anyone advise how to overcome this?
    Thanks

  • Setting the page as selected in detailed navigation

    Hi,
          I have this requirement which i am not able to achieve. The folder structure/ hierarchy looks like this
    Role
    |-- Workset1
           |--Workset2
                 |--Page1
                      |--iView1
                 |--Page2
                      |--iView2
    Now when i click on <b>Workset1</b>, in the content area i want the <b>iView1</b> to get loaded instead of me clicking on <b>Page1</b> explicitly. This was achieved by setting the property "Default Entry for Folder" for <b>Page1</b>.
    But the problem is that <b>Workset2</b> is still the selected object in the Detailed Navigation. But since <b>iView1</b> belonging to <b>Page1</b> is loaded in the content area, i want <b>Page1</b> to be the selected object in the Detailed Navigation.
    Has anybody faced a similar problem? Is there some kind of configuration that needs to be set?
    Thanks, Akhilesh

    Hi Akhilesh,
    this does not work to my knowledge. We also had this issue open, but SAP only implemented "Default Entry for Folder" on a two level hierarchy basis, not deeper.
    As a workaround, you could set an iView (hidden in navigation, but default entry folder) within the upper structure, which just prints out some EPCM.doNavigate JS, navigating to the default page, deeper in the structure. You could set the navTarget static (as property) or you could calculate such a destination dynamically (just go down the PCD tree, looking for the first deep page element).
    I'm unsure if the combination "hidden in navigation, but default entry folder" works, but Robert Briese just tests it and will report, I'm sure.
    Hope it helps

  • Changing look of Detailed Navigation

    Hallo,
    Can anybody tell me how to change look of Detailed Navigation globally for all pages or for certain page?
    Best regards,
    Josef Motl

    Hi Josef,
    lines between entries are not possible with the theme editor, I believe.
    On which SAP EP version are you?
    If applicable use the new navigation tag lib (SPS14) otherwise I would suggest to update to this version.
    You can achieve any design you want with this tag lib.
    Directly editing of the DetailedNavigation-iView is a nightmare (I tried it by myself). And you will have the problem of keeping everything compliante in new versions (which will be the next nigthmare).
    This is the link to the documentation of the tag lib:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/42/f35146a7203255e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
    Please note, that the example of the DTN iView there has a bug. See this thread for a solution:

  • Detailed Navigation in the room NOT working

    When I compose a template and create a room based on that template I can see all the pages on the room along with their detailed navigation bar on the right of every page except one page in the room. I double checked my mapping of that page and compare it with a standard template the entire mapping are correct. So, what could be the problem…pls advice

    Hi Demorgan
    If the 'initial state' of the detailed navigation iview in the framework you are using is closed, then detailed navigation remains closed if it is not having any contents. I think you tried  by giving this property as open.Also check whether the entry points are set right(yes) for the contents in the corresponding tab.
