Details in profile

Hello,
We all know that we can't limit the access of some details in profile- they are seen by everyone on skpe. But I noticed this: Before adding someone, I see almost no info on their profiles, maybe just the city and country. After being friends, I see all their details that cannot be private. Like gender, birthdate. I want to show the private details to only my friends too. How people do it? Is it because they had that account so long ago when skype ables people to set their privacy settings as they want? I dont understand this.
Thanks for the answers, regards.

hmmnnn.. can you specify such details?
Also try this procedure.  select any of your contacts (preferably one that you have a recent convo so they will also appear in the Recent tab) and remove them from your contact list temporarily.  right click on their username and select View Profile.  Take note of the details visible to you being not connected with them.
Then add them again immediately to your contact list as soon as you are finished checking the details visible to you.  They will be immediately added to your contact list again (unless they have also removed you from their contact list, which is less likely if you have removed them in just a short period of time just to conduct this test).  The right click on their name again and click View Profile and check the details you can see being connected to them.
Finally, compared the results.

  • Colour profiling networked computer.

    Hi All,
    I have got a 12 imacs which have been 'eye1' calibrated. As admin login, I have set these calibrations as the imac default.... I get another user to login (not as admin) and their account discards the calibrated settings and resets back to OS default Imac calibration.
    Have tried on several networked macs- works perfectly well on leopard OS but it not work on Snow Leopard.
    many thanks in advance for your responses.

    Let's be clear : you have been miguided.
    CMYK is used in commercial offset printing. In my professional life, I have dealt with photographers, publishing agencies and printers (not only offset). The point is that to get good offset prints in CMYK, you have to know in detail the profiles needed for the process (paper...) We considered the conversion was the responsability (and the art) of the printer. (Anyway, the conversion to CMYK from pictures made in RGB is often a lossy one).  I don't know of serious commercial printers who does not have the full Photoshop or similar.
    For amateurs today, even for printing, RGB is becoming the required color space. Advanced home or professional printing process (photo books) is often made on hardware with 6 or more inks. If you provide CMYK, the pictures will be first converted back to RGB !

    Relationship => This is for relationship between operations in maintenance order
    Checking WBS activity => In WBS, for each task, start date & end date would have been maintained. In Maintenance order, based on schduling, start date & end date for operations will be calculated. Here we can customize, dates needs to be checked between these 2 documents or not.

  • Profiling PL/SQL?

    I'm looking to profile my PL/SQL code. I have N-app servers connecting to a single Oracle instance, and I would like to track how often certain procedures and functions are called in this instance, how much total time is spent in each procedure, etc. Even better would be line by line profiling, giving number of execs and time spent for each line or block.
    I haven't found anything like this on the web. Most "profiling" tools out there (within TOAD and PL/SQL Developer) only profile within the context of their IDE and thus are only relevant for test scripts. Profiling real time app server usage of PL/SQL seems lacking. Something analogous to how HPROF profiles a JVM's code execution (through Byte Code Injection) is what I'm looking for.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    In terms of memory usage details, the profiler is not designed for this. As you stated, it gives only timings. That's always been enough for me to debug my PL/SQL. When a PL/SQL program is too slow, I just want to speed it up, and don't really care about the memory usage. If you want memory details, trace your session (or use event 10046, for even more details). But that would give you feedback only about SQL statements memory usage, and not by PL/SQL line or procedure.
    Just my opinion

  • App breaks roaming profiles?... QB2008

    Have a small site running NW6.5 SP6 with Zen 6.5SP1 and only using it for DLUs and roaming profiles. Everything has been working fine for a few years. Right after we install QB 2008 Premier to a system the roaming profile no longer synchronizes to the server but it will still read from it just fine. If you delete the "Windows NT 5.1 Workstation Profile" directory from their home directory it will re-create it but never populates it. DLU continues to function fine. No quotas and we have ample drive space. No irfs in place and permissions seem to be adequate. All workstations are XP Pro SP2 and client versions are all 4.91 SP4 fully patched.
    Any suggestions?

    What happens if you uninstall QB?
    If that fixes it, you might want to see if QB puts any type of TSRs in
    memory?

  • SQL Profiles

    Hi
    DB:         10.2.0.4
    Platform:  Redhat Linux
    Summary:
    When I unpack SQL profiles from a staging table, even if they had a status of DISABLED in the staging table, they will all be set to ENABLED when querying DBA_SQL_PROFILES. That seems wrong - am I missing something here?
    Details:
    Current SQL profiles (select * from dba_sql_profiles):
    NAME                           STATUS
    SYS_SQLPROF_0145a03131fdc001   ENABLED
    SYS_SQLPROF_01445c4c7d068003   DISABLED...then I take a backup of the SQL Profiles to a staging table:
    exec DBMS_SQLTUNE.PACK_STGTAB_SQLPROF(profile_category => '%', staging_table_name => 'PRF_SQL_PROFILES_STAGING'); Data in the staging table (select * from PRF_SQL_PROFILES_STAGING):
    PROFILE_NAME                   STATUS
    SYS_SQLPROF_0145a03131fdc001   ENABLED
    SYS_SQLPROF_01445c4c7d068003   DISABLED...so looks right in the staging table. The status is the same as the actual SQL profiles.
    Now I load (unpack) the SQL Profiles from the staging table back into the DB:
    exec DBMS_SQLTUNE.UNPACK_STGTAB_SQLPROF(replace => TRUE, staging_table_name => 'PRF_SQL_PROFILES_STAGING');Now I would expect the statuses to be the same as in the staging table - but (select * from dba_sql_profiles):
    NAME                           STATUS
    SYS_SQLPROF_0145a03131fdc001   ENABLED
    SYS_SQLPROF_01445c4c7d068003   ENABLED   <-- ???Now the previously DISABLED SQL profille is ENABLED.
    Any thoughts? Is this the expected behavior?
    Thanks,
    Andreas
    Upate -
    As a workaround I did the following as part of the unpack script:
    declare
    cursor c1 is
    select profile_name
    from PRF_SQL_PROFILES_STAGING
    where status = 'DISABLED';
    begin
    for rec in c1 loop
    DBMS_SQLTUNE.ALTER_SQL_PROFILE (name => rec.profile_name, attribute_name => 'STATUS', value => 'DISABLED');
    end loop;
    end;
    /So basically I just disable any 'live' SQL Profiles that have a status of DISABLED in the staging table...
    Works fine, but still curious whether all profiles enabled by default is expected behavior.

  • OIM 9.1.0.2 - Note field issues

    Hi Gurus,
    IHAC who has got a strange behavior in OIM for a custom connector ( there are a lot of resource using it).
    After request is concluded, if customer goes to User Detail --> Resource Profile and select the resource that was requested, he find out all the generated task (system validation, create user, etc) with the information (************) in Note field. That was not configured to be so. And as that field is used to received Target's response notes, when the target sends an error message with some information (we can see the notes in the logs), that information is not able to be inserted in Note field in the OIM. This behavior has only happened to some resources.
    Has anyone a tip?
    What could I check?
    TiA,

    Hi Gurus,
    Regarding to issue reported above, I have found the bug 7590135 (https://bug.oraclecorp.com/pls/bug/webbug_edit.edit_info_top?rptno=7590135 ).
    For that bug, as informed in the bug below, there was released a fix in the 9.1.0.2 BP 01.
    In that bug there is the following information:
    @ We need to add following property in 9101BP01 release document to fix this
    @ issue.
    @ <store>
    @ <Note>
    @ <SpecialField>true</SpecialField>
    @ </Note>
    @ </store>
    @ true : to show the decrypted value for password field
    @ false : to show blank value for password field
    By the code below is possible to verify the status of the attribute:
    tcProvisioningOperationsIntf taskOperations = (tcProvisioningOperationsIntf) this.getUtilityOperations("Thor.API.Operations.tcProvisioningOperationsIntf");
    Map<String, String> filtro = new HashMap<String, String>();
    //filtro.put("Objects.Name", "Sistema Atlys");
    //filtro.put("Objects.Name", "Sistema PP");
    statusFiltro[0] = "Pending";
    tcResultSet tarefas = taskOperations.findAllOpenProvisioningTasks(filtro, statusFiltro);
    for(int i=0; i<tarefas.getRowCount(); i++)
         tarefas.goToRow(i);
         long tKey = tarefas.getLongValue("Process Instance.Task Details.Key");
         System.out.println("isTaskNoteEncrypted: [" + this.taskOperations.isTaskNoteEncrypted(tKey) + "]");
    RESULTS:
    - "Sistema Atlys" resultado: "isTaskNoteEncrypted: [true]"
    - "Sistema PP" resultado: "isTaskNoteEncrypted: [false]"
    Can I consider that bug the same I have faced?
    And the problem now is, How can I configure the Note to be displaying not encrypted results? Is this a system property (OIM)??

  • HOW TO CONNECT APPLE EXPRESS TO ATT MODEM

    After multiple calls to ATT and Apple, my AExpress still will not connect to the internet through the Westell modem.  I continue to see amber light blinking, and the scrolling message:  "PPPoE Connecting."  If entering details in "Profile Information" helps, how does one do it, and what does one enter?

    As a computer consultant, I have had many problems with AT&T PPPoE. In a few cases, the only solution was to keep the PPPoE connection on the modem and allow the router to use double-NATing. Not a good solution but one that works for most prople.
    Assuming your are on AA&T DSL, is it possible for you to upgrade to U-verse? One thing good about U-verse is that there is no PPPoE connection and a login name and password are not required.

  • IMac G5 – Won't startup except in Safe Mode (10.5.5). Otherwise Blue Screen

    I’ve had my iMac (pre-iSight) for about 3 years now and up until recently never had any major problems with it, despite using it for about 12 hours per day, every day.. A couple of minor problems however had developed, but several months ago and didn’t seem to affect the system:
    (1) Software update stopped working (had to download & install updates manually) &
    (2) Couldn’t verify or repair permissions (even pre 10.5.5. Even when I tried to repair them from another startup disk, the message I got was ‘no package receipts’ – although I could see that they were there in the “receipts” library folder)
    A couple of days ago I decided to try and fix the problems by erasing my startup disk (after backing up all my data of course) and re-installing 10.5 from the installation DVD and then bringing the system up to date. At the time I did this I hadn’t upgraded or installed any new software for several weeks.
    For about one day after that it worked fine. The only ‘alarming’ thing that I noticed during that day was that whilst playing a movie the CPU temperature rose to about 89 C. (I use Temperature Monitor). I read somewhere that the CPU temperature should not exceed 85 for this model and that if it did the system would either shutdown or go to sleep, so I was surprised to see it go as high as 89 (assuming that the right temperature was being reported) before it went to sleep. However, even after that it, it started up correctly a couple of times.
    Since then it will only boot in Safe mode, and when it does it carries on working indefinitely without any problems. The only thing that I lose in safe mode which seems odd – in addition to all the things that I know I should lose – is Audio. The preferences panel says: no input, output devices attached (ie not even the ones built-in).
    If I try a normal start up, the system will go through the grey screen, apple logo, spinning ‘cog’ etc and then almost always go to a blue screen where it stays put. There is a black cursor in the top left corner which, when I try to move it, duplicates itself so that I end up with 2 cursors – one which moves and one which stays in the top left corner.
    On very rare occasions (about 1 time in 20) during a normal startup the system will get past the blue screen and to my desktop (in fact this happened several times consecutively before I got to the point where I could only startup in Safe Mode). However, moving the cursor into the menu bar or into the dock would result in the whole screen freezing – the cursor would move, but nothing else would happen). Also I would see that several pixels were ‘missing’ from the desktop. The desktop is normally solid green, but I would see 3 or 4 red and black pixels.
    I’ve studied all the forum topics that even remotely resemble my problem and tried just about everything I can think of including:
    1. Resetting SMU & PRAM (repetitively)
    2. Running the Apple Hardware Test – All tests passed
    3. Replacing the PRAM battery
    4. Check that the fans are working (I can hear them and when I take the back off, both fans spin)
    5. Erased the disk again, installed the OS from the installation DVD, so that there is no third party software on the system. (and then tried a normal boot both with the original 10.5.1 and 10.5.5 after applying the combo update).
    6. I have several external disks with several copies of the OS on various partitions, including a 10.4.11, but trying to boot from any of those ends with the same result. I can only boot in safe mode, other wise I get a blue screen (or very rarely it will squeak through to the desktop & then immediately freeze).
    Always the same result – safe boot only.
    From reading through the various topics, I get the feeling that my problem may be related to the graphics card, but if that is the case I don’t understand why the system will always boot in safe mode and then run without any problems all day. It even allows me to play movies: very jerky (and no sound), both when I move the QT window and the images themselves, but it still plays.
    Any thoughts on what the problem might be (other than fatal) would be greatly appreciated. Or an explanation why, if it is the graphics card, the system will continue working after safe boot.
    I’ve copied out the system details from Profiler that I think are relevant below.
    All the ‘x’’s in the the ROM revision for the ATI Radeon card look a little odd – never seen that before and I don’t know how long its been there.

    Many thanks for your help

    I had a very similar problem with my 20" iMac G5 ALS running 10.4.11. It began with random freezing inside the OS and intermittent slow booting, but quickly progressed (over a matter of days) to hanging at the blue screen before the logon window, just as you described.
    I too, found that booting in Safe Mode was successful. I ruled out the airport card by manually installing that kernel extension in Safe Mode. A check of the logs pointed to "ATY" which I've since found out is a reference to the ATI drivers, which brought me to this post.
    At least on my system--and I have tested this on Tiger (10.4 and 10.4.11) and Leopard (10.5 and 10.5.6), the only .kext that needs to be removed / renamed is ATIRadeon9700.kext. My preferred method of doing this is to drop to the terminal and type:
    sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon.kext.disabled
    This preserves the relevant permissions and ownership, which you'd otherwise have to reset manually if you copy the file elsewhere and then delete the original in the Finder, and then want to restore it to its original condition, BTW:

    Any OS X update will replenish the file, so you should be at the ready to reboot into Safe Mode the first time and rename the file again.
    The downside to all this is that the video acceleration doesn't work, so graphics operations are slow and jerky, but at least everything else seems to be okay, in my case anyway.
    Popping open the case did indeed reveal four bulging capacitors. I bit the bullet and purchased some replacements, part number 647-UHN0J182MPD from Mouser:

    Although I wasn't looking forward to desoldering my logic board, I wasn't real hopeful that I'd have success getting the local Apple shop to replace it under warranty either. I did find some helpful information on performing the fix yourself:

    And I do want to be able to sell this thing for at least a little cash to help offset the cost of a new quad-core iMac, whenever they're released.
    Fortunately, for me, the service tech at the Genius Bar at the local Apple store agreed to fix it under the power and video extended warranty, even though it was slightly outside of the warranty period, due to the fact that I had brought it in about a year ago and had the power supply replaced under the same warranty.
    I almost didn't bother to bring the machine in because it's a real nasty day here today, and I figured they'd just tell me "That'll be $800 to fix it," and I'd end up doing surgery on the logic board anyway in addition to carrying the thing up and down the steps to my condo. Boy am I glad I did, though. Apple customer service rocks.
